Amber just felt so amazing when she got up this morning. She still felt giddy over her evening with Scott. Once she got out of bed, and got ready. She figured she had to the kitchen first. She wasn't sure where he would be, but she would love something to eat. She also needed to Jacques to reverse whatever he had done to her room. She wasn't liking the whole room being in Gold thing. She was lucky he seemed to leave her clothing alone. How she slept on her bed, she wasn't sure. She left the room and headed to the kitchen. She saw both Yuuko and Scott, she had to wonder why Yuuko was making a lunch so early. " Morning" She said.

Seth eventually climbed out of bed, one great thing about Saturdays was that Scott didn't play mommy and wake them all up. He also knew from the past today would be the day that Yuuko would be a bit odd. He got dressed and made his way to the kitchen. He noticed Yuuko, but decided not to bother her. He knew that this day held some meaning to her, and he would interfere. It wouldn't be fair to her, he hoped one day she felt she could share it with someone her. He knew it wasn't good for someone to hold everything in. He glanced at the other two of the room, before heading towards the fridge.

Seeing Yuuko leave for the gardens, Scott, stood up, closing his physics book with an over-exaggerated sigh. "Morning. Hey, Amber?" he asked, walking up to her when she entered the kitchen. "Would you like to eat in the garden today? I was going to go with Jean so she could help me with this physics stuff, but she's still not back. Maybe you'd like to instead?" For the most part, that was just a ruse, but he would really eat with her out there. He had prepared two simple lunches last night before heading to bed just in case. And, as odd as it was to admit it, he might just enjoy eating with her.

Amber looked up at Scott, and listened. She knew he was just using it as a cover so that they could follow after Yuuko. " Oh, sure. Sounds like fun let's go" She said with a smile. She waited for him to lead the way, she wouldn't admit it, but she did wonder what Yuuko did this time of the year.

Seth sighed, if Scott was any other guy he would have written that off as the lamest pick up he had ever heard. He knew that Scott was just using this as an excuse to go after Yuuko and try to figure out what she was doing. He didn't like that," Your not fooling me Scott, you should just leave her alone. It's hers to tell." He said. He grabbed an apple and a soda, before leaving the kitchen. He knew Scott would go after her otherwise, but it wasn't right. He'd have to do something, maybe he should follow them, to keep them away from her. He wasn't sure thought.

Shrugging at Seth's comment, Scott grabbed Amber's hand, and began walking outside, sighing despite himself as the fresh, rain-laden air struck him. Why did she have to choose today though? It was supposed to pour later. Though he supposed Amber could keep them from getting wet.

Walking leisurely after Yuuko, Scott made sure to keep her in sight while being inconspicuous at the same time. "So, Amber, what's your favorite holiday?" he asked, honestly trying to get a conversation going. And for more than just appearance too. He was genuinely interested in her response, now that she had opened up.

Strolling through the garden with her lunch held tightly against her chest, Yuuko made the turns to the shrine without really paying attention. She was so excited, but so anxious at the same time, and it was confusing. Of course, it was like this every year. The green crystal that focused her power dangled from her left wrist as usual, seeming eager for what was to come. Though that was the same as always too.

Amber wondering what Seth's problem was, she knew Scott was only doing this because he was concerned about the other. Her face flamed red when Scott grabbed her hand. She figured it was just for show or just to get them out of there. As they stepped outside, Amber could smell the rain in the air. Oh she loved rain, especially the smell, it was such a refreshing thing. She noticed Yuuko a bit a head, glad that they hadn't lost the girl yet. She looked back at Scott, " My favorite holiday, hmm give me a second to think about it" She mused.

While she liked some holidays she like Christmas the best. " Hmm I'd have to say Christmas. I just love the season, and everything in the air. It's snows a lot during that time, snow is so wonderful. What is yours?" She asked. She didn't love Christmas because of gifts, she didn't get many, but she loved it for the season and the cheer. She then realized they were still holding hands, her face turned a brighter shade of red.

Seth decided to follow them. He left the school and was following Scott and Amber who are following Yuuko. He was doing his best to make sure that they didn't see him.

Noticing Amber's blush, it took Scott a moment of puzzlement before he realized that they were still holding hands. It just seemed so natural, so he let it go, but he could feel his face heat up as well. Spotting Yuuko slip around a corner, he made sure to catch up before answering.

"My favorite would have to be Independence Day," he said, shrugging a bit. "I love the fireworks and the picnics, but the best thing is that it inspires me to continue this political battle against the Homo sapiens because I know it will work out in the end. Cheesy, I know, but still."

Peeking his head around the corner Yuuko had just slipped around, Scott stared wide-mouthed as he saw a flickering green light, and three misty figures that were slowly solidifying.

Setting the stone on the altar of the shrine, Yuuko channeled her energy into the stone before she began laying out her lunch. As the green light faded though, she saw the solid figures appear. With a shriek of joy, she dashed into the man's arms, wrapping her feet around his waist while he rained kisses upon her raven locks. "Daddy!" she exclaimed, her face beaming.

"Happy birthday, Princess," he said, a wide grin on his face. Suddenly, he threw her up into the air, laughing as she squealed in delight before he caught her and tossed her back up.

After a while though, he set her down on her feet to let the other two come over and give her their fair share of hugs and kisses. Afterwards, they sat close together, Yuuko laying on her father's lap. Each one had a small plate Yuuko had carried out with her, and were eating small samples of the food she brought, as it was too much for her to consume herself.

"This is amazing, Yu-yu!" the boy called out, to the enthusiastic agreement of the older man and woman. "Just like always, though, huh?" He continued digging in without waiting for much of a response, apparently taking her grin for thanks.

"Hino, jeez, slow down!" the woman laughed. "It's not a race! You're going to end up throwing up!" The boy, Hino, made a show of rolling his eyes, earning a few chuckles. But he did slow down a bit.

Once her father had finished eating, he treated Yuuko by feeding her himself, purposely missing a few times. This elicited giggling from the little girl sprawled across his lap, as well as her mother and brother. Despite all this, she did end up eating about seventy percent of what she had brought, which was just the right amount for her.

"Do you need a change, sweetie?" the mother asked, smiling when Yuuko nodded. "Well, lay down then." And then she went about gathering the supplies from the small bag Yuuko carried with her. She pulled out an actual diaper on purpose too, forgoing the Pull-ups that Yuuko usually used during the day.

Muttering under her breath jokingly, Yuuko couldn't help but shiver at the wipe, which caused her family to chuckle a good bit. The smell was heavenly though, especially when you added in the scent of the Minny Mouse-decorated Huggies size four diaper. Yeah, she knew she was tiny, but she didn't really mind it.

Her mother set her into a fit of giggles by blowing raspberries on her exposed belly, causing everyone to laugh and smile good-naturedly. Of course it was intentional, but Yuuko's laugh was certainly infectious. She had the ability to walk into a room full of people who hate each other and get them laughing like friends.

"Time for cake!" the mother trilled, pulling out the matches and the cake before lighting the solitary candle sticking from the top. "~Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday dear Yuuko! Happy Birthday to you!~" They sang, cheering when she blew out the candle and dug in. Granted, it was only one piece of cake, but it was her mother's recipe, and it was her favorite.

"Now what game would you like to play first?" her father asked. His pale blue eyes were so different from her own bright green that it was unreal, but they held the same love for life and compassion that it was easy to tell they were related.

"How 'bout Hide-'n'-Seek?" she asked, grinning like a little girl.

"It's your party, Princess," he said, jogging off to the hedge. "You're it first though!" And then they were gone, leaving Yuuko against a tree to start counting.

Amber didn't pull her hand away or mention it. She secertly was really enjoying this, even though she felt shy. She looked to him when he spoke, she noted his face was a tad red, she wondered why. She hoped he wasn't getting sick. His answer was so like him, it was admirable. " That's very admirable, your right. When I think about it like that, it gives me more hope that one day there will be peace between human and mutants." She said with a bright smile.

Amber peaked around the corner, and her mouth fell open. Playing out in front of her was the strangest scene, she watched people appeared out of nowhere after a green light, and become solid people. Then it seem that Yuuko was at some birthday party. Her eyes went wide when Yuuko's diaper was changed, that explained the constant baby powder smell. " Please tell me, I haven't gone crazy and your watching the same time as me" She said.

Seth was still following, after the two. He was wondering was the two of them were holding hands they seemed rather cozy. He was glad they hadn't spot them, and once he could he glanced around the corner that they were looking. He saw Yuuko with some other people. It seemed what she wanted to hide was that it was her birthday. Though from Scott, and Amber's faces it might be something else that he missed.

Duncan was hanging with his smokin hot girlfriend Jean, when he noticed Summers walking with that shy red hair senior. " Hey Babe, when did Summer's get him self a girlfriend?" He asked. He didn't really care, but this did mean that he wouldn't have to worry about Summer's hitting on his woman.

" What are you talking about, Scott doesn't have a girlfriend" She said, she looked up and spotted Scott walking with Amber. Though what surprised her was the that two of them were holding hands. She wasn't pleased at all, Scott wasn't suppose to have a girlfriend, and she wasn't sure why it was upsetting her so much.

"Uh, yeah, I am," Scott answered, secretly glad that Amber saw the same scene. It was certainly the oddest thing he had ever seen. First off, he knew Yuuko was childish, but needing diapers!? Jeez, it was like seeing a whole other side to her personality. And suddenly, her childish behavior made sense. It reminded her of happier days like these. She acted the way she did because she liked being little.

"Uh, do you think her family is... dead?" Scott asked, watching as they went through the motions of a regular birthday party. Realizing that today was her birthday made him feel awful. How long had she lived at the mansion, never once being wished a happy birthday? And worse, how many of the others, himself included, never thought to ask?

"Ninety-nine, one hundred!" Yuuko yelled, peeling away from the tree to start seeking. "Ready or not, here I come!" She started off for where Scott and the others were, hearing their whispered talk, which sounded a lot like her family from far away.

Hopping around the corner, she yelled and tagged them before she realized who they were. And then her face went blank. Turning away from them, she counted to three with her eyes closed before turning around and opening them. When they were still there, she frowned. "What are you doing!?" she yelled, tears springing to her eyes.

Amber was glad that Scott was seeing the same thing, at least she knew she hadn't lost it then. Though, this was sad, she felt horrible never once had she thought to ask her birthday, or even try to get to know her. She also felt bad watching this it didn't feel so right intruding on this moment anymore. She looked back at Scott," I think so" She said. It would make a lot of sense, the girl was clinging to the only time she felt happy and she could understand that.

Suddenly Yuuko was heading their way and Amber wasn't sure what to do. Then before should could react, they were found by Yuuko. Everything seemed to be a blur, but the girl was now yelling and crying. She had no idea what to do, she looked to Scott hoping he'd be able to defuse the situation.


Seth was there watching the scene, but he hadn't be noticed yet. Something pulled at his heartstrings, when he saw Yuuko start to cry. He wanted to comfort her, but he didn't know if he should. He would wait a few moments, for the duo to answer, and see how Yuuko felt. If things got much worse, he would make the two of them leave, and try to make Yuuko feel better, if she'd let him.

Jean and Duncan hadn't noticed Yuuko, now Jean was to put off by Scott and Amber, she decided they should go somewhere else. Duncan was very eager to agree and the two of them had left.

Scott had been about to leave himself, when Yuuko popped around the corner and saw them. When she started crying and yelling, he looked to Amber pleadingly. He had never been really good at handling this type of stuff, but her own look towards him showed he would get no support from her.

"Well, we were wondering why you were acting so weird this morning, so we followed you out here," Scott said, sticking close to the truth, but still lying slightly. "We didn't mean to intrude. And we'll leave now." He turned to do so, but was stopped by the man, Yuuko's dad. Sighing, he stopped, motioning to Amber as if to say it was her turn.

"And who might you be?" he asked, looking to his sniffling daughter.

"This is Scott and Amber, Daddy. They're my teammates on the X-men," Yuuko mumbled, going over to hug his leg. He immediately put his hands in her armpits before lifting her up to his hip, upon which she sat comfortably. "Scott, Amber, this is my Daddy." To be honest, Yuuko was worried about being made fun of for needing diapers. It seemed they had seen everything after all. For some reason, that would be worse than just being made fun of like usual.

Amber was glad that he spoke up, she felt bad for leaving him to handle it though. She was never that great with people, so she had felt right on the spot. " Yes, we sorry. We didn't mean to interrupt your day." She said. She blinked and looking to the man who had appeared there. She felt nervous again, she took a deep breath. " Hello Sir, I'm Amber, we are truly sorry to have interrupted your celebration" Amber said. She did feel terrible about this.

Seth leaned against the wall still out of sight. So that was Yuuko's father and it was her birthday. He mused for a few moments, he had to wonder why the had never come to the school to visit. He was a bit confused as somethings were completely clear to him. He was glad that it sounded like the girl was doing much better. Still he wouldn't leave yet, he wanted to make sure all was alright.

"I suppose it's okay," Yuuko mumbled, still rather upset. "You couldn't have known. But... you won't make fun of me? Right?" That was still the part that bothered her the most, though her dad had stretched out his free hand to shake both Scott's and Amber's. To him, they seemed nice enough, despite the fact they had made his daughter cry.

Feeling awkward, Scott took the dead man's hand and shook it firmly before turning to Amber. "I think we should leave them alone," he said, grabbing her hand before making his way out of the gardens, and into the backyard. He still felt guilty over having intruded, but what was he to do?

Looking up, he noticed that the clouds had only thickened with the progression of time. He'd give it two, three hours tops before it started raining. Or whenever Storm let it. "You feeling rotten about ruining Yuuko's reunion?" he asked, looking down at his feet as they walked. "I know I am."

" We would never do such a thing" She said. She shook the man's hand, and then watched as Scott shock his hand. She felt a bit empty, now that she wasn't holding Scott's hand. It was odd to say the least, this feeling. She looked to Scott when he started talking she nodded. " Bye Yuuko, bye Yuuko's father have a good day" She manged to get out, as Scott pulled her away. The feeling was gone down, and what was left was a little giddy joy and over bearing guilt.

She wanted to make up for their actions, there had to be a way. She looked over at Scott who was staring down at the ground. " I feel terrible, but I think I have the perfect idea on how to make up for it." Amber said with a smile. " We should throw her a birthday party." Amber told him. It would be easy to get together, she loved Halloween theme things, and since it was October[going to say it is] It would be easy to gather all that kind of stuff. " It can be Halloween themed, see seems to love Halloween things" Amber said, sounding really enthusiastic.

Seth decided after listening for a bit longer to leave. He needed to head to the store he wanted to get a birthday gift for Yuuko. It was the least he could do to try and make her day better. He walked into a toy store, one that he knew carried a lot of Plushies. Something he knew that she loved. He started walking around the store trying to find one she loved. He turned out each time someone came over and asked if he needed help.

Listening patiently to Amber's idea, Scott smiled. She was certainly better at it than he was. "That's perfect!" he exclaimed. "I'll go out and get the stuff, okay? I can't bake to save my life, so it'll have to be." And with that, he broke contact, and jogged over to his car, hopping in before starting it, and driving out.

Ten minutes later, he was in Wal-Mart, looking for decorations. He had found a three-piece Halloween headband set, as well as some Halloween necklaces and bracelets, for gifts, but he was having a harder time finding a Halloween banner that said happy birthday. Eventually, he just found a wordless banner that they could glue the words to. Black and orange balloons and lightbulbs were easier to find than the banner and gifts, but it still took him a bit to get them.

By far, the easiest thing for him to find was the food. Because it was Halloween, they were selling themed food all over the place. Two bags of shaped cookies, a jar of peanut butter chocolate pretzels, black and orange frosting, caramel apples, and three bags of assorted candy later, he had everything in the car and was on his way back to the mansion. He had already called Storm earlier and asked her to hold of on the rain, giving Yuuko no reason to come back inside while they prepared.

Amber nodded," Alright sounds like a plan then" She said. Amber watched him walk away, and drive off. She stared down at her hands, feeling a bit hallow. She had sort of hoped they would do the shopping together. She shook her thoughts away, right now it was best to focus on doing this for Yuuko. She could sort the rest out later, plus their outing had only been a cover for spying on Yuuko. Amber walked towards the nearest store, to buy what she would need for the cake. She had the perfect idea in mind, and then she headed back to the school. She was lucky that there was a grocery store that was close by.

She hoped that Yuuko would love the cake. She was lucky that when she got back most of the students were out of the kitchen, and they were staying out of her way. She only focused on making the cake, and pushed thoughts of everything else out of her way. She first made three layers of cake, and then she covered them in frosting. The top and bottom layers were in orange frosting and the middle one was black. After that was done, she made little ghosts, cats, spider, pumpkins, out of candy. She placed them on different parts of the cake, and used some pink candy to layer around the end of each cake layer. She placed a few candy corns around on the cake, and redish, orange candy bow on top. She then started on the second little cake she was making. Once that one was done, it was made to look like a smiling Pumpkin.

Seth spent a few good hours looking around the story. He was tired of they store people following him, but he wanted the perfect gift for Yuuko. He had a few choices, but he wasn't sure which one. He knew he was going to buy two for her, but he wasn't sure which ghost one to get her, and whether she would want a bat or a Pumpkin bat. After musing for a while he decided to get the ghost that didn't have the heart on it and to go with the pumpkin bat. He put the other two back, and then went and paid for the two he was getting and had them put them in one of their special Halloween bag. He then made it back to the house, where he noticed they were setting up for a birthday party.

Pulling into the driveway, Scott turned the car off before jumping out, laden with bags. Someone opened the door for him, which he was grateful for as he dropped the bags off in the kitchen. Panting slightly, he asked Amber, "Where do we hang this stuff up at? In here, the rec. room, where?"

When she told him, he nodded, pulling out the banner, streamers, and balloons. He went into the specified room and, gently, burnt the words Happy Birthday Yuuko! onto the banner. Orange paint or whatever could be added later. Or better yet, Jacques could change the color of it. Smiling slightly, he went about hanging the banner over the doorway, grateful that some of the other students were taking care of streamers and balloons. Scott wasn't a decorative person.

Walking in, he found several bowls full of the candy and snacks he had bought sitting next to the large punch bowl. Some black food dye made it appear much more sinister than it actually was: just Hawaiian Punch, Sprite, and sherbet. All of the lightbulbs had been switched with the orange and black ones he had, leaving everything in a very odd mix of light. It also served to highlight Amber's cake. "Amber, that cake looks amazing," he said, nodding towards it. "You're a much better baker than I."

Amber smiled when she saw Scott, and told him where he could take the stuff. She started unpacking the bags, and taking the food out there where the food table was waiting. On the food table, sat a Halloween table cloth. She carried out her cakes to the table, and had them set in the center of the table. She brought out other food that Scott had gotten. She smiled at him as he walked over. She blushed slightly, " Oh thank you" She told him. She glanced around the room the place looked awesome and great. Someone even got the fog machine running. " How long till you think she get's back?" Amber asked him.

Seth was surprised, it seemed that Amber and Scott had come up with the party for Yuuko, from what he had over heard. He was glad they two of them decide to make things up, and even he had to admitted they had done pretty well with coming up with a party out of nowhere. He saw some students wondering if they should dress up in halloween costumes, or if they shouldn't.

"I don't know," Scott responded, looking outside into the dark. "I don't really want to make her come back inside though, so I'm perfectly content to wait." In all honesty, the party was looking to be pretty incredible. Chances are Yuuko would need a change when she got back, just from being so surprised. But it felt good to make it up to her like they were.

Giggling hysterically, Yuuko laid on the grass as her family faded away. While sad that they had to go, she had had such a great day that it was worth it. Rising to her feet, she gathered the supplies she had brought with her, and changed her diaper for a Pull-up. To the garbage, she created some of her corrosive energy, with the garbage literally being dissolved before her very eyes.

Once all that was taken care of, Yuuko made her way back to the mansion. Her eyebrows furrowed when she heard loud music, as well as orange and black light and fog spilling from the doors. What was going on? Cautiously, she entered the building, unseen by most, as usual. She figured she'd go upstairs and read until the party was over. Certainly no one wanted her around to spoil the fun.

" Your right about that. I really hope she likes it" Amber said feeling worried. She glanced around the room. People seemed to be really happy. She didn't know what to do now, she didn't want to think she wanted something to keep her busy. Yet the whole party is already set up. She bite at her lip, really hoping Yuuko would get back soon.

Seth glanced around the party and spotted Yuuko sneaky up towards the stairs. He was surprised since this whole party was for her, but he most likely figured she didn't think it was. He appeared behind her," Hey, where are you going?" He asked her. He wanted to to stay, he knew the other two worked hard to put this together. She really deserved this party.

Looking into the Dining Room, Scott saw that the kids had moved the tables out of the way to make a temporary dance floor. "I'm sure she'll love it," he said, grabbing her hand. "Come on, let's dance for a while." And with that, he guided her to the dance floor, and started to dance with the rest of them.

"I was going upstairs so I wouldn't ruin the party for anyone," Yuuko answered, brushing a lock of hair back behind her ear. The black really blended in with the lighting, so the neon green highlights seemed to float. "You know people don't really like me at these sorts of things." Regardless, Yuuko found herself sitting down on the steps. It wasn't that she didn't like the social events other kids her age held. It's just that they often didn't want her there. Indeed, she could remember several times when someone thought it was funny to give her an invitation to their little siblings' birthday parties. And then trying to explain to the person picking her up why they have to turn around and pick her up two minutes later.

"The decorations are really nice though," she continued, smiling faintly. "Who picked them out?" Halloween really was her favorite holiday, and not just because she got to see her family again. It's also the day her powers are at their strongest. And the folklore was amazing too. Then you add in trick-or-treating, and dressing up in costumes, and you have the best festive brew in the universe.

Seth wanted to sigh, he knew him and fellow students weren't always the nicest to her. " Oh Scott when and got them." He told her. He sat down next to her. " Wanna know a secret?" He told her with a smile. He waited until she nodded. " This whole party, everything in it, is here for you. Amber and Scott decided to throw you a birthday party" Seth told her. He watched her waiting for her to respond. He hoped she'd want to stay.

Amber's face turned a bright shade of red. She was surprised when Scott said he wanted to dance with her. She had a feeling her face would be red for awhile. She danced with him though. She was surprised that Scott was still talking to her, she figured that he was just being nice to her or something.

Jean walked into the place wondering why there was a party going on. She had normally always knew about the parties. Once of the students told her it was a party for Yuuko, and that Scott and Amber had planned it. Jean was surprised, and feeling jealous. She walked around the place looking for Scott. She had finally found him, yet he was dancing with Amber. She wanted to know what he seemed to interested in her all of sudden.

Yuuko didn't believe Seth at first when he said Scott went to get the decorations. It just wasn't a Scott-thing to do. His mention of a secret drew her in though, so she leaned closer to hear him better. When he said that the party was for her, she giggled. And then she saw that he was serious. "Why?" she asked, staring at the party with amazement. No one, save her parents, of course, had ever thrown her a party before, let alone a birthday party. It was so strange.

" Because you deserve it. Not one of us knew it was your birthday, and that's not right. We wanted you to feel welcome, to do something nice for you." He said. He smiled and then held out a bag for her. " This if for you, it's a gift. Happy Birthday Yuuko" He said. He hoped that she would stay, he wasn't sure how to explain this to her, but he wanted to enjoy the party the one that was thrown for her. " Please stay and enjoy your party, we know you love Halloween, and we want you to have an awesome birthday party" He said.

Still staring at Seth in confusion, Yuuko took the bag and pulled out the gifts, squealing in delight before wrapping her arms around him in a hug. "I love them! Thank you so much!" she exclaimed, pulling away to look at them closer. Two plushies! And Halloween themed to boot!

Seth's mention of Yuuko having fun brought her glee up short. "But I don't know how to dance or anything," she said, her foot tapping in tune to the music. That was true, though she had a knack for rhythm. It's just that she'd never been to any parties or anything, so she didn't have any experience.

Seth smiled brightly and hugged her back. " Your welcome, I'm glad you love them." He said. He was so glad that he had chosen to get these for her. He watched her glee fade away, and he wanted to both. " I'll teach you, and you don't have to dance if you don't want to. They set up some Halloween games as well, and there tons of Halloween theme food, and you should see the cake Amber made for you." He told her with a charming smile.

Amber was having fun dancing with Scott, but she was getting over heated. Yet she didn't want to ask to take a break, because she could see Jean off to the side. She had a feeling once they left the dance floor, he would get distracted by Jean, and she would feel out of place. Scott so far was the only person who talked to her. She also was really starting to like him. She felt that she really needed water though.
