I really debated on whether or not this belonged in the Community Discussion or General Discussion, but as it's about discussing threads/the site, I decided it's possibly better suited for Community Discussion. If not, please feel free to move it!

But anyway, when you post a thread on Menewsha, do you ever get really, really impatient waiting for replies?

Oh gosh, I sure do. I'm refreshing the page every few minutes, waiting for people to reply. Especially if it's a thread I want answered soon, mainly in the AC where I want advice. But still, I get impatient any time I'm waiting for a reply.

I really don't know what to do to be more patient about it xD I haven't devised a clever way to distract myself until replies come.
What about you guys? How do you stem off impatience like this, if you are impatient?

For those who don't get impatient, feel free to share tips on how you mastered the art of it. It'd really help!

Haha. xDD Sometimes I'm a bit impatient when I'm having conversations with people.

For the most part though, like for GD threads and such, I'm pretty patient.
When I make threads though, I do get a bit nervous about if I'm doing it right and how it will be received. :lol:

I think I just go to other threads and find more people to talk to or browse the internet, just do something else~

Yeah, I'm with Iku. I only get impatient if I'm in the middle of a conversation, but even then I can go and do something else while I wait.

The threads move so slow sometimes that cora gets super impatient.

Sometimes, usually only for RPs. Or if I was in the middle of a conversation with someone and they poof for several minutes, I'd be constantly refreshing and checking for replies. But if after a while and I get no response, then I'd just disappear and go do something else and probably end up forgetting all about it until much much later. :lol:

Always! Sometimes I sit here with my ban hammer and think "Why is everyone being so good today? I wanna move a thread! Or answer an Info Desk question! Or crush someone's hopes and dreams! Why is everyone so gosh darn rule abiding?"

And that's when I sit in the Spy feature and read through everything that's happening online. :lol:

Not much of a way to resolve things though.. :sweat:

I just browse through other threads until they reply. If it's a really slow thread then I get offline entirely and just wait. I figure if my topic is interesting enough people will eventually reply.

I sometimes get impatient, but that is mostly if I have already maxed out the arcade on main, mule and charity mule. xD Usually, if I have to wait for a reply, I just go and play harbor fishing and peek in to see if there is any response between each game or such. xD

it is really hard to get any hangout threads to be active.
it is kind of a shame too.
i usually post up and down the forums trying to earn gold.
i kind of wish we could post a few times *in different posts* rather than just one post then wait for a reply.
i undersrand about how menewsha has us earning gold by character but still it would be nice to say have a three post limit.
it would help little trying to get some people to post threads.
i see threads in nations with thousands of posts and then poor little thread still struggling to have someone other than the owner post.

But if we allowed triple posting, hummy, people would abuse it. I don't see why there's a need to post three times in a row while you're waiting for a reply except for the gold you could earn.

Not really. It's the internet. I don't see a point in getting worked up over it. Just go do something else for a while.

Aw, don't worry about reporting. Staff members actually get this bright red notice whenever there's a new report, so everyone online would see it. I think that it makes us all sufficiently crazy at times. :lol:

I tend to get really impatient. I think I'm more patient than I used to be when I first came to the site from Gaia though. The forms on this site tend to move a lot slower because we don't have a million users like the aforementioned site but I don't mind it as much anymore. I still tend to get impatient when I get on some days and it seems like none of my subscribed thread are getting any replies (like today). I think days like that help me get out of my comfort zone and explore other areas of the forums though.

I do this while RPing. XD In a discussion, not so much. Though, sometimes I do. I remember I used to a whole lot in my first few months on here. ^^; I'd keep refreshing until I got a response. Or I'd just go play tetris or something. >w> Sometimes I think I just let my threads be. I'm neglectful when it comes to my own threads. ^^; Nowadays, I'm not as impatient. I think...

Eh. yeah I can get impatient. Mostly when I'm really into an RP. But I understand that people get busy and can't always be on Mene.
But then there are the times where the thread/RP is zooming along and I'm stuck with my phone and can't post anything in a timely manner. DX SO I've been on both sides.
Otherwise I just putz around the interbutts waiting for replies.

I'm always impatient, with everything in my life. Horrible, horrible habit. So I kind of like that Menewsha is a slower-paced community, because it forces me to be patient. And while I wait for a reply somewhere, I can browse throughout the site and do other things. Its teaching me to multitask! Play games, browse, or get interested in another topic.
