Aurora layed down in his bed and curled up under hte covers. They were warm and instantly her body just wanted her to fall asleep. She tried her best to stawk awake so that she could think about tomorrow but in seconds she was fast asleep.

Garreth laid there for a few minutes thinking and was about to make himself more comfortable when he thought heard something outside. He quickly sat up and blew out the candle that sat on a small table next to the couch, which was lighting the room.

Now in the dark he looked at the covered window and thought he saw a shadow move just outside. He reached for his sword, which was leaning up against the side of the couch. Trying to quietly pull it out of its sheath and quietly made his way to the door.

Thinking that somehow one of the other archangels saw Aurora and came to get her Garreth prepared himself for a battle. He held his blade with one hand and he reached out to grab the doorknob. Still hearing movement outside that was moving closer to the door he quickly pulled the door open and jumped outside. If he was mistaken and this was just another angel looking for him he didn't want them to see his house guest.

It's dark out and the sky is filled with thick clouds blocking out most of the light that comes from the moon and stars. He hears a sort of chocked scream to his right and quickly turns to face the figure gripping his sword with both hands. It was to dark for Garreth to really see who it was but somehow they could see he was holding his sword towards them because they tried to back up and ended up stumbling and fall letting out a grunt as they landed.

"Who are you and what to you want!?" he demanded stepping closer and pointing his sword towards their heart. "Its...me..."
He quickly recognized the female voice. He let his sword drop to his side and offered her a hand up. "What are you doing sneaking around out here?" She took his hand and let him help her up.
"I heard you were back and wanted to see a friend." she said rubbing her sore spots.

Slightly paranoid he looked around to make sure there wasn't anyone else around and then rushed her inside.
"What's wrong with you?" she said going over to the light the candle next to the couch.
"Nothing" he said watching her as she sat on the couch.

Her name was Maddy, she was about a head shorter then he was. She pretty much always wore her sandy colored hair pulled up and in a ponytail. She was a Archangel to, though not as high ranked as Garreth. She didn't wear the traditional armor that the other female Archangels wore. Instead she tended to wear tight fitting jeans that generally had rips in the legs, a lose fitting shirt and hard toed boots. In general she was a young angel, she had died in combat in a war. She has happily announced to anyone that would ask her about her clothes that she was a tomboy and had no interest in wearing the dress looking armor that the other female Archangels wore.

Thinking about it Garreth wasn't really sure how or when he became friends with Maddy. One day she just showed up and started talking to him. She's been doing that ever since. They often share the stories of their missions with each other.

She smiled at him and patted a spot on the couch next to her, inviting him to join her. He sighed and smiled back at her going to sit next to her."So...what happened?"
He shakes his head. "I can't really talk about it... I haven't finished the mission yet."
She turned to sit sideways on the couch to look at him better. "Why are you back then?"
He looked at her and sighed again. "Because I'm protecting someone."
"Really?" she started looking around the main room of the small house but looked back at him when she didn't see anyone. "Tell me you have her hiding in your room and you aren't..."
He quickly jumps to his feet. "I would never do that!"
She gets up and starts to head for his room. "Can I meet them?"
He quickly jumps in her way. "I don't think that's a good idea." he sighs again "I can trust you, right?"
She crosses her arms. "After all this time I would hope so."
"She's a demon and I've been ordered to help her." he says pushing her back away from his room.
"You can't be serious!"
He quickly hushes her and looks over his shoulder towards his room. He goes over and pecks in, seeing that she's laying in bed and sounds like she's sleeping he goes back to Maddy.

"I know it's hard to believe. My original orders were to kill her but she's different. The Lord has given me permission to have her here and help her brake her ties with the underworld."
She sat down taking in what he just said. "What are you doing to do?"
"We have a plan." he sat down next to her. "You can't tell anyone." he says squeezing her arm.
"I wont, I promise. But let me help."
He looks at her for a minute and then shock his head.
"I can help and you know it."
He lets her go. "Fine. But this is still my mission."
She grins. "Of course I just want to help."
"We should rest now."

After setting a small fire in the fireplace Garreth makes himself comfortable on the floor while Maddy makes her self comfortable on the couch.

Aurora woke up when morening came and yawned as she slowly sat up. Streaching a little bit she slowly got to her feet and then headed into the bathroom. Once she was cleaned up she headed out to the living room yet stopped in the doorway when she saw the other girl. Instantly fear filled her and she wondered if she was here to kill her. Yet when she saw Garreth on the fllor she knew that he wouldn't let anyone inside without trusting them completely. Relaxing a little bit she then headed into the bedroom and brought out a blanket. Laying it voer Garreth she then decided to look around the house since this was the first time that she was actually able to get a good look around.

The fire had gone out hours ago and Garreth was stuck in a light sleep. He was cold but was to tired to get up to set another fire. The sudden warmth from the blanket was welcomed but made him wake up. He watched Aurora as she stood and then started to wonder around his home. He thought about getting up but thought if he letting her wonder might put her at ease more. She was already trusting him more then any other demon and her purposed plan said that she really did trust him. The least he could do was trust her to look around. He laid back down and drifted into another light sleep, he wasn't use to having anyone sleep in or wounder around his house.

Aurora smiled as she looked around and knew that if she could live a simple life she would like this house. Smiling as she headed into the kitchen she smiled as she actually got to look around completely. Everything looked nice and she then wondered if she could really stay here with Garreth. Looking back over at him she knew that she wouldnt' be able to repay him for any of this. Looking around she found herself a book and settled down in a chair near garreth before she started to read.

"It's still early you should light a candle" he mumbled still laying perfectly still. He pulled the blanket tighter around him, his body still cold. "As long as you're here make yourself comfortable but please stay away from the doors and windows. It's for your own safety." He said and turned his head to look at her wanting to make sure she understood.

Aurora nearly jumped when she heard him but then smiled over at him, "Demons can see in the dark very well so I dont need a light." she said and then looke dback at her book. "and I know not to go to the doors or windows, that is why I chose this spot since it is farthest away from them." she said as she smiled a litte, glad that he was a little worried about her and by the sounds of it was starting to trust her.

He nodded and rolled back over and fell back to sleep.

He woke up as the first raise of sun started to lighten the sky. He sat up and looked over at Maddy. Her light snoring proved that she was still fast a sleep. He looked over at Aurora. The book she was reading rested in her lap and the way she hung her head he couldn't tell if she was reading or sleeping.

He stood and went over to put the blanket over Aurora. When she didn't move he figured she must have fallen asleep reading. He grinned and grabbed his sword before heading outside. Quietly closing the door behind him he stands just outside the door looking around the large grassy field that his house sits in the middle of. Not seeing anyway he takes a quick walk around the house before going back inside.

He looks over at Maddy. She's rolled over letting her back face the door. He walked far enough back into the living room to see Aurora. She still hung her head so he figured she was still sleeping. Garreth quietly makes her way through the living room and over to the bathroom to clean himself up.

Aurora had fallen back asleep while reading and smiled when she felt hte blanket on her. She stayed asleep for a while though heard what sounded like a door opening and closing. Slight fear spiked threw her and she opened her eyes. Looking around she spotted the angel from before but then saw light coming from the bathroom. Relaxing a little bit she figured that if Garreth wasn't worried then she shouldn't be. Though she then looke dat the blanket. Smiling at little bit she closed her eyes and snuggled into the blanket a little bit, staying like that.

Finishing in the bathroom he goes to the table and turns one of the chairs so he can watch Aurora, Maddy and the door and tries to quietly sharpen his sword.

Hearing the light scrapping of a sharpening stone being rubbed against the metal of a sword Maddy wakes up. She sits up and looks around. Remembering that she's in Garreth's living room she looked at the floor near the fireplace and frowned when she didn't see him. Seeing someone sitting in the chair she started to get up off the couch to wake him up when she realized it was a girl.

Maddy quickly jumped back and grabbed for her knife. Seeing this Garreth stood and cleared his throat trying to get her attention without waking Aurora up. Maddy spun around and looked relieved to see him. He motioned for her silence and then motioned for her to come over to him. She nodded and did. He pulled out the other chair and then sat back down. He started to sharpen his sword again and she did the same.

Aurora wasn't asleep, she could hear everything that was going on and heard them sharpening their swords. She then decided it was time to move. Opening her eyes she looked over at them. "hey." she said as she streached a little bit and wondered if the girl was going to attack her or something. She then stood up and looked at the door and windows to make sure that no one was coming. She then walked over to them and held out a hand to Maddy, "you must be Garreths friend, it is nice to met you. I am Aurora." she said as she smiled at her.

Seeing Aurora getting up he wiped his sword clean and looked over at Maddy, she followed his lead and started to clean up to.
Maddy shook her hand. "Hi Aurora. I'm Maddy. I'm going to help Garreth help you."
Garreth finished cleaning up and then moved his chair back next to the table. Maddy did the same. "Are you hungry?" he said looking at Aurora.

Aurora smiled when he heard her, "thanks, We are going to need as much help as we can get." she said as she looked at them. Though when Garreth mentioned food she shook her head, "not very hungry at the moment." she then smiled at them, "but you two should eat."

He nodded and looked at Maddy who had put her chair up to the table and was sitting down to eat. "We have a couple of days before we're going to make our move. What did you plan on doing during that time?"

Aurora looked over at him and sat down at the table with them, "getting ready for what is to come and relaxing." she said as she looked at him.

He nods and looks over at Maddy. "What you proposed might be more complicated then any of us really predict. But with Maddy's help we might stand a better chance."

Maddy looked at both of them. "Aurora thinks we can save her from the other demons that we came across on Earth will come after us. She came up with a plan that pretty much has us faking her death." Garreth tells her. Maddy just nods. "We would have to make it look good though. Are you willing to bleed?" she says looking at Aurora.

Aurora nodded as she listened to them and then looked at Maddy, "I am fine with bleeding, bleeding for a demon is nothing." she said as she smiled at him. "but if you think of a better plan please tell me." she said as she looked at them.

Garreth and Maddy looked at each other. They seemed to be having some kind of mental conversation. A few minutes later they were helping each other move the furniture around making more room. When they were done the main part of the small house was almost empty.

"We can't really think of another plan that would make the other demons think that you're really dead... At least not without divine intervention, which I don't see happening. But because your plan is dangerous Maddy and I think it would be smart to try to work out how this might happen. I don't think it's safe for us to do this outside. Other angels might hear us fighting and come by to see whats going on." Garreth says looking back at Aurora.
