Aura nodded, and then got comfortable on the couch. Shippou still seemed to be sleeping soundly, so she didn't want to wake him by taking him upstairs. She didn't mind sleeping on the couch again. She was more at ease now that Kris had checked in and Aura could see she was mostly alright.

Hisoka was waiting outside for Kris.

"Is everything alright?" he asked softly.

Kris nodded, starting to walk. She didn't really want to talk anymore.

"Why don't you go tell Sesshomaru to go check on them."

"Is that what you want?" Hisoka asked. He would have thought she would want Sesshoumaru to stay away until things had been properly fixed.

"Would probably make Aura feel better." Kris shrugged. "I won't be back for another day or two anyway."

"But is it something you would be alright with?" Hisoka pressed. This whole little adventure kicked off because Kris didn't like Sesshoumaru around Aura, after all, so it would be counter-productive to make it all for nothing.

Kris shrugged. In her mind they were already thinking about it, so she might as well just let him go ahead and see Aura, at least. That way she'd be able to observe more and not be caught by surprise this time.

"Yeah, sure. They can go ahead."

Hisoka thought about it for a moment, and then nodded.

"Alright," he said. "I will let his lordship know." He looked at her. "Perhaps it might be a good idea for you to get some rest when you get back to the cabin." He would meet her there, of course, although it would be after he passed along the message to Sesshoumaru.

"We'll see." Kris looked at him before she started walking.

"Don't wait up for me." She already guessed he was going back to the cabin, so she might as well warn him now.

"We'll see," he replied, using her same words. He waved a hand, telling her to go on ahead, and then turned to head back to where Sesshoumaru lived. Knowing his lordship, he would be awake, even at this hour.

Kris took off, jogging back towards the cabin. She needed to get something to eat or she wouldn't be able to stay awake any longer.

Sesshomaru was still awake, sitting in Inuyasha's room reading quietly. The pup was long since asleep, but he liked being in the room anyway.

Once Hisoka got back to the mansion, he took a moment to make himself look presentable before going to find Sesshoumaru. It wasn't hard to find him, really, and he knocked softly on the door frame to get his attention.

Sesshomaru looked over at him, putting a finger down to mark his spot in the book. "Yes?" He raised an eyebrow at the cat. He could smell Kris, however faintly, which made him rather curious.

"It has been suggested," Hisoka started, stressing the word 'suggested,' "that you might go and check on Aura and Shippou. Kristine has already reassured herself of their well-being." He assumed that Sesshoumaru would go in the morning, when it was guaranteed that Aura would be up and about, so he didn't specify that.

Sesshomaru blinked. "She actually listened to you?" he asked, rather surprised. Sure, he knew Hisoka was the most likely candidate for getting the stubborn hanyou back, but nonetheless, he was surprised.

"She feels that a few more days away are necessary," Hisoka replied. "Although I did manage to get her to come back to check in with her pack." It hadn't been as easy as he was making it sound, but then again, he ended up having to be just as stubborn as Kris to get her back even just for a little while.

Sesshomaru snorted. "I see," he murmured. "Well, at least you got her to do that much." He stretched briefly. "Anything else?" He raised an eyebrow at the cat. Meaning he wanted to know if Hisoka was going to go after her again.

"I had intended to return to keep her company until she deemed herself fit for pack interaction again," Hisoka replied. He looked at Sesshoumaru. "Unless there was something else you needed me for?"

Sesshomaru shook his head. "Go ahead," he said mildly. Then he paused and looked at the cat.

"By the way. Are you ever planning to ask her?"

"Perhaps," Hisoka replied after a moment. "Once this situation is resolved." Turning, he left again, heading back out in the direction of the cabin without waiting for a reply.

Sesshomaru smirked faintly and settled in again to read for the rest of the night.

Kris got back to the cabin and started looking around to find something to hunt.

Hisoka got back to the cabin a while later, and started to look around for Kris. There didn't seem to be any more trees lying on the ground, which was a good thing. That meant that her aggression had either diminished for the moment, or was being redirected elsewhere.

Kris had managed to wrangle up a couple of rabbits, and was currently skinning and cleaning them. She was still a little too wound up to do it perfectly.

Hisoka stayed back and watched her for a few moments.

"Would you like me to do that so you can relax?" he offered.

Kris shook her head, stripping off pieces of meat and setting them aside to cook later.

"I'm fine," she said, not quite grumbling. But almost.

"Your hands are shaking," Hisoka observed. He wasn't quite pushing at her, but it was a near thing. "Let me know if you want me to take over."
