Afanassii had been sitting at a large mohogany desk, calibrating charts, when his guest entered the room once again. He raised his red-topped head slowly, to give the man a long, scrutinizing look. A smile slowly spread across his fair face as he noticed that Jack preferred the one suit out of the many that did not fit in the time period they were currently take part in. It was a long coat style of the near future and the tight pants really accented his frame delightfully.

"Yes..." He said, nodding and drawing out the 's' of the word a bit too long. "I'm sorry. I thought I was being ... a good host." He blushed a bit, honestly embarassed at the thought that he had annoyed Jack in his insistance on propriety. "I tell you what.... Why don't you ask a question first, then?"

Jack looked startled. "You are being a good host! I'm very happy to be staying in such a nice place with such kind people...I just have a few questions is all." He paused, pondering how to state the question that was running through his mind. "I know none of you are..human..so what species are you? I don't mean to be rude, It's just, I'm very curious.." He smiled. He didn't want his host to think he was rude or trying to speak bad of any of them. "I'm very sorry for the vampire mistake..I saw that your staff didn't appreciate that mistake."

The host raised an eyebrow at Jack's question. "You seem so sure of yourself when you say that." He stood and slinked across the room to come beside his guest.

He took a deep breath and crossed his arms. Standing, scrutinizing the Captain for a long moment before he decided what to say.
"You're right..." He finally answered with a nod.

He clasped his hands behind his back and began walking around the room slowly.
"We are what is known as 'Sekassiret'. We're not from around here. Not in any of the stories in the local lore. And while we may look similar to a vampire upon close inspection, we are not undead and we can not create more like us by biting someone..." He had circled around to moved in close again and reached out to gently take one of Jack's weathered hands into his soft and smooth one. "We are living and breathing as much as you are. We give birth to our young the same way...."

"I see.." Jack whispered as the other gentleman explained everything to him. "Hmm..." he seemed far more interested in Afanssii than he was in the conversation. He was very obviously checking the red headed man out and not bothering to be secretive about it. His eyes traveled all up and down his body. He licked his lips slowly. This was a fine man before him. Nassii was sexy and elegant. His hips were shaped just perfectly for Jack's hands to grip them. He had a billion dirty things running through his mind.

Seeing that Jack did not seem to mind it when he had grabbed his hand, Afanassii inspected it farther, turning it around to notice how worn and tan it was. He ventured to pull up Jack's sleeve just a bit, revealing a painful-looking brand in the shape of the letter 'P' and a tattoo.

He cocked an eyebrow at the sight of the first and stroked his finger along the body of the sparrow on the image before withdrawing slightly
"Now I am ... all full of questions..." He said with a grin. "Even moreso than before, that is."

Nassii was beginning to notice the Captain's quite apparent attraction for him and decided to attempt to see how interested he truly was. He strode to the desk and bent over it to retrieve a scrolled map on the far side of it, of course giving his shrewd guest a glorious view of his backside in the process...

"So, are you really a pirate, then?" He asked before coming back off the desk and turning around. He took note of whatever tell-tale signs Jack was displaying when he did so and filed them away to use later.

Jack noticed for the first time that Afanssii was touching his hand. He'd been far to busy staring before to even relize that the man had grabbed the large worn hand. He felt a finger run up the sparrow that was inked on his arm and shivered just slightly. He was now aware that Afanssii was relizing Jack's intrest for him. As Nassii got up, Jack wacked him bend over the desk. He took in the sight of his ass and imagined many things. (things that are far to inappropriate for a person to think.) he was practically drooling. "Hmmm? Oh yes, I am.." he answered the question, though he wasn't thinking straight. Normally he wouldn't have admitted a thing like that to just anyone for fear of being turned over to the English. He was slightly disappointed as Afanssii stood up. He know couldn't see the glorious backside of his host. His eyes were slightly glazed from the lust that was rising up in him. He was staring dead at the man. He had to cross his legs to cover the begining of arousal. The tightness of the pants was not on his side at all. He had picked the suit with the tightest, most formfitting shape, but that proved a mistake at a time like now. He knew he want completely concealing the buldge that stuck up from his pants. He blushed just slightly.

Afanassii smiled but tried not to make it too obvious that he was taking a bit of delight in teasing Jack. "Oh, is that all you have to say about the matter?" He teased, "It seems to me that the exciting life of a pirate would be something I, myself, would either exlaim loudly and verbosely or not speak of at all."

He padded softly over to the distracted man's side and went on. "Is it really such a matter-of-fact thing? Like saying you are a 'shoe-maker' or a 'lamp-lighter'?" His pale blue eyes twinkled with curiosity.

Jack shrugged. "I've been a pirate for a long time. It's not so exciting anymore. The same things happen over and over. I always lose my ship and my crew and get stranded. It just always happens to me." he sighed. "There's not much difference in being a shoe maker and a pirate. Pirates just get their money in a differant way. We all spend it to live." he really had become bored with his life as a thief of the sea. It was so boring, the same old rutinue over and over.

Afanassii's eyebrows scrunched up together, accentuating a pitying look. He could certainly understand boredom - even in the light of a possibly exciting career as a pirate. Eventually, most things become routine. And being kept constantly on one's toes could wear out their nerves.

He gave the pirate captain a long, hard look then, seeing his eccentricities in another light. He was still a handsome man - particularly now that he had been cleaned and was wearing fine, fresh clothes. But there was a certain sadness to him, and even more so, a certain oddness. Nassii chuckled.
"Well, then, if given your choice, what would you do with your life, then, in stead?"

Jack had to think about that. What would he do if he wasn't a pirate. He kept letting the question run over in his mind. "I think I would just be normal for once, ya know? I'd like to be safe and not have to run from the military, I wouldn't have to save dumb lasses who got into trouble...hell! I could just be happy and do what ever I pleased." he liked the thought of being able to just settle and be a happy man for once. He'd been a pirate captian for a really long time and it seemed he could take a break, maybe even quit for good. "I think I'd also like to find a lover if I ever had the chance to settle down. I haven't really ever had a decent relationship before." he thought of the lovers he'd had in the past. They were only there for the sex. That was all Jack had ever had in a love relationship was the sex. It had never been about love for him and that was a thing that he wanted to be changed.

The Sekassiret blinked a few times, taking in his new companion's words. "It sounds admirable to me, actually. The dream of a family, perhaps? A little place to call your own and the freedom to live you life as you please.... " He stared off for a moment, then, a distant look in his blue eyes. "In the end, I think that's what everyone wants, really. Whether they want to admit to it or not."

He closed the distance between them and placed a hand on Jack's shoulder once again. "Supper should be served soon. I made sure to have cook make enough for you. My people need to eat meat to survive, so it will be a part of our meal. But if you have any special requests, do not hesitate to make them. We shall do our best to be accommodating."

As Afanssii stared into the distance, Jack stared at him. It seemed as if they might share the same dream. Jack however wasn't sure how he'd make much a family. He wasn't keen on women, perfering a male lover. This could make it rather difficult in the children department unless they either payed a girl to carry a baby for them or adopted. Either one of those cost a ton of money that Jack didn't have anymore. He'd been stripped of anything valuable before he was thrown into the sea. He only had one sack of gold coins that he'd hidden in his pants before being thrown overboard.

"Meat you say? That sounds good to me actually. I'm not vegan or anything like that." he grinned. Indeed jack liked all kinds of meat. He looked at Afanssii woth a smirk. "And I mean I really like meat.." he said trying to put a twisted meaning on what he had said to flirt just a bit.

Nassii cocked an eyebrow as he was so apt to do lately. It was in his own nature to speak the double entendre of the sort that Jack had just gave him and he was moved to actually grin back at him after he had said it.

"I am beginning to really like you, my friend." He said with a wink.

Shortly thereafter, a bell rang and Serge entered with a bow.
"Ah, dinner." Nassii responded, waving Serge away and nodding to Jack. "Just on time... Shall we?"

Jack smiled. "I must say I like you as well." he turned and looked as Sargent walking in, signaling that it was dinner time. He could smell the tasty meal from in here. "Yes, me should go now." he said with a grin. "It smells really good," he wondered what had been made for tonight.

The tall Sekassiret walked side by side with the Captain, though making sure to take the lead so he knew where to go. Before long, he had lead him into a sunny and rather small dining room

He squinted a bit while his eyes adjusted to the light and he blinked away the few tears that formed because of it. He took a seat and motioned with the hopes that Jack would join him nearby. The cooks soon appeared with three covered trays and revealed the meal without much flourish. Nassii looked on with happiness and thanked them before they took their leave.

A maid came by with a pitcher and filled a glass for each of them with clean, iced water - the likes of which Jack might never have seen in his lifetime. Serge pointed out the dishes to the guest in an attempt to be helpful,
"We have Shie, kotlety and Vareniky for your dining pleasure today..."

Afanassii laughed and dismissed him as well and then went on so as to clear up any confusion, pointing at each item in turn."It is a soup made of cabbage, potato and meat. This is a kind of sausage and those..." He taped his bottom lip thoughtfully. "Those appear to be pastries with berries.. though they are sometimes filled with a cheese." He grinned at his new friend. "Though the cook knows I am partial to raspberries... so they are a safe bet."

Jack stared at the clear substance in his glass. He'd never seen such a thing before. He tasted it and it was flavorless, but tasted refreshing. "What is this?" He asked curiously. He also was intriged by the odd food. Perhaps this was how nobles lived.

Nassii stared at his guest for a long moment and then blinked, thinking it might be a joke. He then smiled and cocked his head to the side in an amused sort of way. "It is only water..." He replied, taking a long drink of the stuff himself.

He sighed afterward and peered out the window, squinting at the brightness of the day even through the magical adjustments that had been made. It was hard for the Sekassiret to be around such strong light, their eyes were easily pained by it. Though now it shouldn't be a problem for the world-traveler, due to his technology, he was still squinting from pure reaction and instinct.

When finally he was able to regain full sight of his eyes again he blushed a bit at how terrible he must have looked in the moment and got to his feet, coming to Jack's side of the table to serve him some food himself.
"So... I believe that it was your turn for a question, my friend?"

Jack stared at Afanssii who was sqinting in the bright light. It was amusing. He saw the fair man blush and then he stood, coming to Jack's side. "Well, I have to wonder where you get all of these resources. Do you hunt and make things yourselves or is all of this imported?" it did puzzle him that so much wonderful stuff could be in such a remote area.

"Oh, we... um... transported it, you could say.." He responded evasively, winking playfully at his guest. He handed Jack a plate of the food that was served and took his own seat nearby instead of at the other end of the table, giving the scene a much more casual feel than it might have been otherwise.

He felt a little guilty being so vague and fixed a careful gaze on the lovely man.
"He certainly does clean up nicely, doesn't he?" He thought to himself with a deep breath to keep his interests from going to lustful thoughts so quickly. He ran a finger around the rim of an empty wine glass nearby and went on to clarify his earlier statement. "Everything was imported from Vidania..." He said this matter-of-factly, though he knew his guest might catch on that there was no such place in the world he lived in. It was a chance he had to take, though, as he had vowed to give Jack absolute honesty in his answers. After all, the man had been kind enough to return the favor - who would necessarily admit to being a pirate so easily?

The thought of discovering the Captain's tattoo and brand mark brought a bit of a wicked smile across the Sek's fair features and he found himself longing to touch him again.
"Not yet..." He thought to himself, taking in another deep breath. "We'll know each other well enough... soon"

Jack shifted a bit under the gaze from the man. He felt as if he was being inspected. As much as he wanted the other to lust for him, he also knew there was a chance that he wouldn't find Jack attractive at all. "Like what you see?" He asked playfully and watched Afanassi run his finger along the edge of the glass.

Afanassii swallowed hard at Jack's sudden second question. He gripped the glass he had been toying with so hard he feared it would break. The slip out of his debonaire persona lasted only a moment, though, for soon he was moving on to wag a finger at the man in a mocking sort of way. "Ah, not so fast. I believe it is my question now." He winked at his forward guest and reached back behind him to pull the cord hanging from another bell upon the wall. When a maid entered accordingly, he spoke to her in another language. "Mariya, mogli by vy prinesti vino dlya menya i moego druga, chtoby obladatʹ?" His tone was pleasant and it had a lift at the end that made it seem as if it were a question.

Nassii watched the young girl leave rather disinterestedly and then shifted his blue eyes back to his guest, happy to have had the distraction take his mind off of the lewd insinuation for the time being. Of course he liked what he saw. The man was quite entertaining and even the way he spoke and the swish in his walk was attractive in his own way. But most of all, there was a certain amount of potential in him, a sharp wit that was plain behind his eyes.

Still, he was a rather filthy man - truth be told, most people from this time period rarely completely bathed and Afanassii was aware of that. But the man's unkempt teeth and hair left something to be desired. Nassii looked him up and down. No, that hair lent him character. He should keep that no matter what - unless he chose to change it of his own accord, that is. But, if the young Sekassiret Lord had his way, he'd clean him up entirely. Perhaps he could bring some good to his life somehow? Either way, he wouldn't go through with getting to know him intimately unless there was no fear of catching a disease from him. He chuckled at the thought that Jack may just find him intrusive. But he had technology to de-louse the man, straighten his teeth and remove most ills as well.. it all depended upon whether or not he was compliant.

"My question...." He repeated again, tapping his lower lip thoughtfully. Soon, the same maid from before entered and filled his glass from a pitcher of dark red liquid. She came around to Jack and held out the pitcher for his inspection as well, what was inside obviously smelled of wine. "So... where do you go from here?" He asked, taking a slow drink of the wine in his own glass, the same one he had nearly destroyed after Jack had asked if he enjoyed looking at him. "Assuming that you leave my island and you're back out into the world... what is your next step? Will you be tracking down your old crew and seeking revenge? Or off on other adventures?"

Jack raised an eyebrow at Afansii's sudden tension, but it was gone sonquickly that he wonderednif his eyes had been playing tricks on him. The man in front if him seemed cry elegant even when he was seemingly nervous. That was a thing that Jack liked quite a lot. He stared for a moment until a young maid walked in. He wondered what Afansii had asked the young maiden. The language that had been used wasn't one Jack was even remotely familiar with. In fact, he wasn't sure if he'd even heard it before in his life.

Jack was still bothered by the fact that this man was staring at him. "Pardon me, but really, why may I ask are you staring like I am a specimen? Do I have something on my face? Is something amiss with my clothing?" he looked at his clothes nervously, afraid of looking bad in front of his host. For some odd reason he found himself wanting to impress this man.

He was relived when the maid from earlier entered with wine. He took a small sip of the red liquid and had to say he round it quite tasty. He looked up as the question was asked. "Hmm...well. I dint know really. I may just...I don't know, find a place to settle down. I'm not getting any younger and it's getting to were the same thing every day is bothering me. I can't stand this anymore. There are many things I've missed out on as a pirate and I plan to experience those things before I die."
