hummy was hoping there would be some lip balm with hello kitty on the container.
*dances around in anticipation*

Hm, lip balm would be nice but I have a ton of it so I'm not sure I'd get it if there is one. >.<

hummy just doesn't like pink or red.
most all of the hello kitties are pink.
so when hummy finds a blue or even more rarely a green hello kitty, hummy has scored!

Oh, LOL! I'm not a huge fan of pink either but I don't mind the traditional red kitty. ^_^ I haven't seen many blue kitties though...

they do have the blue ones but just not as many are introduced into the economy.
in Japan they have a very short lifespan.
they turnover their product quickly so if you see it, you must buy it quickly!
hummy has yet to see a teal hello kitty.
she should write sanrio!

it's a great marketing ploy, like with MAC products.
they sell out quickly.
there was a Sanrio store in the ginza by my house in Japan and they were always low on stock.
the prices were/are regulated so it wasn't that they were cheaper to buy there,
everyone knew if you see it and like it you must buy it because it will not be there tomorrow.
hummy still morns the black backpack she didn't have enough money to buy.

Aw man, that sounds like it would be really hard for an indecisive person like me. I always hee and haw over things before I finally decide to get them on most occasions.

me too and that is why hummy missed out on the backpack.
but she learned her lesson.
it is really a great way to move product though.
whoever came up with it is a genius.

Aw... *Huggles* I feel for you. T_T

And yes, it is genius. I watched a presentation on Sanrio once but I can't remember everything about it anymore. It's been a few years by now.

one thing hummy doesn't understand is why Sanrio has 'only in Japan' items.
it was wonderful when she could buy these items but never thought to sell them.
hummy misses the new years obento hello kitty things.

Hm, I think it's harder for some of those things to sell here. I remember finding a few Hello Kitty things in a drug store once and really liking them but they had been there so long that they had started to yellow so in the end I decided against getting them even though I really did like the items.

yeah, maybe some of their items would seem strange here.
there is an ear wax cleaner, like a permant q-tip thingie.
that would be weird to try and sell in the united states.
America is such a throw-away country.
*feels sad*

Hm, that sounds like an interesting product but like you said I don't really see it selling very well here. I absolutely hate the way no one bothers to recycle around here and everything is designed to be thrown away, as if we don't have enough landfills already...

hummy is such a tree hugger.
it actually upsets her when she doesn't recycle things.
hummy wishes that communities would make it much more easy for people to recycle.
having little recycle bins by big dumpsters would help a lot.
hummy loves how wal*mart has the recycle box for their and others plastic bags.
she tries to remember to bring her own bags but often forgets them.....or they remain in the car.

I recycle as much as I can but other people in this house just throw recyclables in the trash. I love recycling plastic bags. I hate seeing them left on the ground outside or thrown in the trash.

once, when hummy lived in Japan, she threw away a soup can filled with grease.
the little Japanese women waited outside the trash gated area for her.
even though they knew she didn't understand Japanese, because she learned the phrase,
'i don't understand Japanese.'
they were really upset with hummy and were yelling at her for doing this.
hummy has never thrown away another can since then.
she takes the soda cans to the recycling plant too.
instead of the city making the cents per can hummy makes it and saves that!
