Apple looked rogh and left before coming out of hell. She strolled along the street, her pale skin glistening darkly in the moonlight. She saw a man was following her. He was scraggly and looked dirty. Her red hair swished behind her gracefully. "May I help you?" she said, void of all emotion to the man. He smelled of whiskey and tobacco. "Yeah, bend over pretty bitch." she giggled, it was a fake laugh an she knew he would pay for calling her that. "Now, now..there will be pleanty of time for fun later." she hummed in a seductive tone, leading him to an ally. She didn't wish to take him back to her home. Blue fire sparked up from her fingertips and his eyes widened. "How are you doing that?" he asked nervously. She grinned evilly. "It's magic.." she said like he was a small child marveling over a card trick. Then she threw the sparks in his face, making him scream in agony. She had taken yet another victim. She strutted off, looking for her next unfortunate person. Becoming bored and seeing no one, she sat on a bridge, staring into the blue water that looked yellow where the moon was reflected. The reflecton of a young woman was there also. She had firey red-orange hair and skin pale as ash. It was her. A loneliness stirred in her.

It was one of those evenings... Boring with nothing to do but walk around the town, cloaked today as she roamed the streets. She didn't want anyone to stare at her as they'd always drop looks on her. Usually of envy as most of them knew how long she'd lived in that town. It wasn't just a couple of years. No... She'd been living in Salem for at least a generation now, never changing. In the past, whenever someone in town came up to her to say they'd seen her years ago, Marisa would try her best to lie, saying she only resembled that person. She was getting quite good at that, but now people were starting to catch on which was making her nervous. Almost enough to want to start fresh again.
The thought escaped her soon however when she realized how far she'd gotten and was soon crossing a bridge, hanging her head low enough to see a red haired girl just sitting there, lost in thought probably. Marisa wasn't sure what to say to this girl if anything as she kept walking slowly over the old bridge as it was rumoured to break anytime now. Could only hold so much these days...

Apple felt the presence of the witch before she saw her. She looked young, but Apple knew looks could be deceving. "Hello." she said cooly, her voice not portaging amy warmth. She turned around and then heard a cracking sound. It was the bridge splintering away beneath them. The old bridge was going to come down. She stood and ran, grabbing the girl as she did. She made it across and was relived. It wouldn't have killed her, but Apple hated to get wet. It made her fire go out and she couldn't summon it. She relized she had saved the girl. Why had she? She should have left her there to die...but she didn't. "My name is Apple. What is yours?" she asked, her tone gentle as she knew that the girl must be startled.

The bridge splintering had startled her a bit but what made her squeal slightly was the other girl pulling her to safety. After she was released from her grasp, Marisa fell to her knees on the grass, her heart pounding. So much she had to hold her fist to her chest as she sat there almost panting. She hadn't even heard the girl say her greeting as it happened so fast.
Marisa could have also saved herself from what would happen after the bridge collapsed, but was too surprised by having been saved by another to focus on that.
Once she figured she was feeling better and had a voice again, she sat up properly and removed the cloak, having felt quite warm under there after her little adventure. "Hon- Uh... I mean Marisa." It had been years since she used her "real name". "Th-thanks for saving me..."

Apple frowned. "You're not safe yet. That village will burn you at the stale of they find out you're a witch. They may say they except you, but they won't. I know, belive me." she hoped this girl would be ok. Being burned was not a fun death. Apple suddenly smirked. "And don't say you're not a witch because I know you are. I can practically smell the magic on you. You're strong."

"I know... I've been hiding my identity all these years. A lot of the people in town don't know who or what I am, but others suspect something is weird about me after thirty years of living here. Before I was traveling a lot and would often leave to new places every decade just to avoid suspicions." Marisa knew she wasn't safe anywhere with her secret. Though she wasn't sure how this girl knew of it. She didn't look human anyway, but she was afraid to ask out of being polite.
"To tell the truth, I'm not as strong as I used to be. I'd practice magic all night long while being isolated from everyone else many years ago, but after moving here, I had to start being careful when people started to become aware of things going on a lot sooner than back then..." She knew people were a lot more dense back then about things going on, but now... It was dangerous.

Apple wasn't quite sure what to say, but figured she should say at least something. "Well, people just don't like things they don't understand. They're stupid like that." she said. She hated humans. They always tried to kill her and she was impossible to kill. It would scare them even more when she came back out of the ashes completly unharmed. They had thought she was a witch, but they had all been wrong. She knew the nature of people and the fear for what they could not understand or control.

"I know that quite well..." Marisa had a friend long ago whom she felt could be trusted. Turned out this guy was just as bad as the rest of them. Even after she trusted him with her secret. Instead of accepting, he threatened to reveal it to the townspeople unless she did everything he asked. Took her a long time to escape. And now thinking about the whole situation was heartbreaking. He was her first love... After that, however, she trusted no more males to be near her and would give them all dirty looks.

Apple smiled very gently at Marisa. "I'm sorry dear, I know men cam be really cruel. I don't really like them myself. They only think abou themselves and sex. They're not worth the time they require." Apple herself had come to like women. They were sensitive and always tried to be kind to her. She had only met few women that she disliked. There were still bad ones in the world. She knew that, bit at least there were the good ones. She didn't belive good men existed.

"Huh?" She looked at the girl with a surprised look on her face. "How'd you know that's what I was talking about? I never said a word about them..." Marisa had thought the girl looked odd just sitting there, but now there seemed to be more to it. The girl even knew of Marisa being a witch... This was making her curious, but she continued to keep silent of any questions she had. Like... Who was this girl? Was she human? Or something else...

Apple giggled. "the look on your face told me what you were talking about dear. I've been around longer than I looks. I know how to read people." she smiled innocently at the pretty witch girl. "So, are you good magic or black? I can't really tell." she could tell this girl was begining to wonder if Apple was normal.

"Well. We call it white magic usually..." She didn't want to seem rude to the girl while using correct terms, but a lot of people got those terms mixed up a lot. "We don't call magic good or bad as both kinds can have their advantages and disadvantages to each. Some good magic can go wrong and vise virsa really. Just depends how one uses it."
Marisa didn't seem at all surprised to how the girl had hinted her age. Nor was she startled at the ability of knowing facial expressions since those seem to happen all the time.
"Anyway... I've tried both kinds and find I have more experience with white magic than with black magic." When it came to her doing either kind, her current mood had to match whichever type of magic she was trying to do.

"I suppose..." It was all she could think of to say. She somehow still wanted to trust the guy, but deep in her mind, something was telling her to forget about that.
"I couldn't sleep. I'm a night owl most of the time and would usually practice my craft in my backyard, but today I've got nothing to practice. There hasn't been anything new recently and everything else to practice are too high of level for me. So I figured I'd take a walk as a change of pace." She looked at the red haired female next to her. "Bad idea?"

Well, you are a young...well young looking lady. Some men might try something with you. You have to be really careful these days." She herself didn't worry. She was a god and couldn't be harmed. She was completely immortal.

"A lot of guys have tried a few things to get me to hang out with them, but I always managed to avoid them without getting harmed. I've been practicing repelling magic to use whenever they got too close for decades now. If they did get too close, they'd always break out in a rash the next day without knowing why. So! There's nothing really to worry about. Thanks, though." She smiled at the girl and felt kind of happy to have someone she thought would worry about her after so long.

"Well..." She'd been walking for a while now and it was getting dark out. By the time she got to her own place it would take her till near dawn to get there. Easily... She'd usually do just that, too...
When the offer was said, however, Marisa got a bit shy. She'd never slept over at someone's house before and felt nervous to accept, but at the same time felt quite tired tonight. "I... I suppose it'll be okay... For tonight..."

Apple nodded and then opened up the ground with a movement of her hand. She took her new friend down to the lair. Hell was not hot as many said in myths. It was a present temperature and it was sandy. It was a black beach in fact. A large dog with three heads greeted her. "Ah, hello fluffy.."she coed."Welcome to my home." she said to her guest

This was not something Marisa expected as the ground opened up showing a fiery sight as she followed the girl downward into the area. Despite the raging flames going down, the place wasn't very hot. At least not enough to kill anyone... This surprised her. Even when seeing how dark it was at the bottom. "Wh-what is this place?" She had a feeling this was the place bad people were sent. Hell in other words and she was feeling quite uneasy about it as she was forced to think of her own sins, as small as they were. Harmless pranks, really. Marisa was so deep in thought, she had no idea how close she was to the girl, practically clinging onto her sleeve out of fear. Especially when she saw the dog.

Apple laughed. "As you can see, this is hell. Don't worry, it's not bad. I'm the devil." Apple found all of this amusing. She always liked peoples reaction's when she brought them here. She lead the frightened girl to a nice, cozy room. "Here, this is the guest room, you can stay here."

"The underworld... Devil, huh..." She didn't like saying the actual word in fear of it being insulting as she calmed herself down and allowed the girl to lead her to another area. This time it was pleasantly cozy and not as scary. "This is a nice room..." Almost felt like home to her, but not as messy. She had bottles and things laying around everywhere.
