Jack stood and looked at Sam. "Black wings?" He left the bedroom and went into the one where Grace was knocked out on the bed. Sam was right. "What the..." Jack murmured under his breath and quietly walked into the room to get a closer look. "Wings don't just turn black over night... Wake up sleeping beauty." He went to shake her gently. She was definitely still living, which was good. "Gracie?" He asked like a concerned big brother. Jack blinked and tilted his head when she stirred and watched as her eyes opened. They were empty, cold and lifeless. "Ah hell!" 'It's the affects from her being in the Underworld for as long as she was..' He thought, slowly standing back up and calling his scythe to his hand just in case.

Alex didn't know what he was feeling, he just knew something bad was happening. He burst in the main door and made his way quick to the appartment, with out notice he opened it quick and went straight to the bedreom. He stopped right behind Jake. "What happened?" He asked consternation laced through his words.

Sam saw Alex and was right behind them. "Where have you been? " she asked and wouldn't stop bugging unroll she got an answer.

Jack lifted his eyes to Alex when he heard the boy burst in. "About that... Remember what I said about not getting too close? Disregard it, it was just me being reckless. Didn't mean it. I'm sorry for saying it. Anyway!" He pointed at Grace. "As can see she's not herself, something must've happened while she was in the Underworld and.... she's pretty much dead to the world meaning her mind is being um..... she's a puppet and however did this probably wants to kill. Don't know who. Don't know why." He spoke in kind of a rush so all of his words jumbled together but one could still clearly understand him then lowered his scythe.

Grace slowly moved her eyes to look at Alex when she heard his voice and she gazed at him blankly. Her aura was definitely darker. A lot darker. But she had enough control of herself to keep from attacking anyone like the voice in her head wanted her to.

Alex didn't know what he was seeing. This was not the grace he liked, she was something different. "If that's the case how do we snap her out of it?" He asked with his hand on the butte end of his sword. He wanted grace back, the one that was nice and not black winged.

Sam stopped asking and backed up out of the way. She knew things looked too good to be true, and this was what proved that right. She shighed and hopped that the boys could get throngs back together

Grace slowly draped her legs over the side of the bed and stood. She looked completely harmless, just not herself. Jack bit his lip. For once, in a ling time, did he NOT have the answer. He knew Grace like Alex just as much as he liked her and wanted to keep him safe, so he thought. He then glanced at Alex and Sam with a very serious expression. "Do you trust me?"

Sam without questioning shook her head "I trust you" and of course she did. There was still something about him that she couldn't place but she couldn't not trust him. Alex looked a bit worried. "If its going to save grace, then yes I truss you." He said a little shakin but he had to to try and get her back.

His plan wasn't completely thought out so before he could even move to act like he was going to hurt them, he was tackled to the ground and slid backwards on his back. He grunted a little and but his lip. "I can read you like a book, you touch them, I will hurt you. Don't care who you are." Grace said in a voice that was dark, her stare was cold. Jack only smirked, his plan still technically worked. "Be honest with yourself Gracie. How important are they to you? How badly do you want keep them safe?" He asked in a quiet voice that only she could hear. Grace blinked a few times and slowly got off of him. "Very... I'd do anything." She answered just as quietly. "Tell the devil to go taint somebody else then. If they're that important. Fight back and quit acting like you're the only one that has to deal with what you're going through. We all care." Jack said in a serious matter. Grace looked shocked and dazed at the same time then glanced over at Sam and Alex.

They didn't know what jacks plan was but whatever he was doing Alex thought it was working. Moons was talking so the room was all quiet. It kind of hurt Alex seeing grace like this, and when she looked at them he couldn't help but have tears going down his cheeks. Sam stood back more behind Alex, she hoped what Jake was doing was working. The grip on his sword was tight, even though he knew he could never hurt her even if she was in that state.

Grace moved her gaze to the floor and clenched a tight fist. "I'll never go back to normal, this is me now. A 'fallen angel', belonging to neither Heaven nor Hell." Her eyes returned to their original state and color but her wings stayed as large raven wings. Jack slowly stood but didn't know what to say.

"But why?" Alex asked softly, the tears still going down his cheeks. He knew it was him, he got too close and someone he liked got hurt. He wasn't the good one here, she was and he made her suffer because of him. He dropped the sword and took off moving Sam out of his way. Sam didn't know what to do, she seen a friend change and a closer friend get hurt. She hit the wall stunned and shuttered as the door slammed. She stayed quiet and slid to the floor.

Grace hovered off the ground a few inches and shook her head. "Jeez..." She whispered quietly to herself before racing after the boy, just phasing through the wall. "Wait just a minute Alex!" Grace called, regular humans couldn't see her but Alex and Sam would still be able to since they knew her before the change took place.

Jack slowly went to Sam's side and knelt down, he didn't know what to say though...

Sam sighed as rested her head on his shoulder. She didn't know what to say so she just stayed quiet. After awhile she just softly asked, "what juat happened here?" Alex stopped in his tracks when grace fazed through the wall in front of him and blocked his way. "what happened to you?" he asked quietly as he couldn't help but to run up to her and wrap his arms around her.

Jack held her gently. "I'm not really sure..." He answered just as quietly, just kind of wanting to be there for her.

Grace sighed quietly and gently lifted his chin. "I wanted to be human and started doubting myself. Humans are lucky... You have free-will. Angels were created to obey the father and serve man-kind.. We aren't supposed to have emotions like you guys because we were created to as servants, nothing more. I envy them... A lot... So now I'm a fallen. I could asked for forgiveness and get my angel wings back but then I'd lose you.. and I love you..." She answered quietly, pretty much completely coming clean.

Sam held him back as well. Alex looked up at her as she spoke. The tears dried up and he just listoned. She sacurficed her own wings to be with him, and not restrain her emotions to have him there. He hugged her quietly. "You did that for me?but why? I'm not that spenlcial." He said softly with her still in his arms

Jack slowly released before rising to his feet. "Something doesn't feel right." He murmured quietly.

Grace smirked lightly and slowly pulled away. "You're special to me, why? You'll understand soon enough." She winked playfully. When she saw some demons headed their way her expression got all serious. Grace moved in front of Alex since she remembered that he dropped his sword and it was at the apartment. "Tell us where the rabbit is girl!" The leader everyone thought was dead snapped. She shook her head. "Not a chance Blake, and by the way.. don't think I'll help you. Fallens and Demons are nothing alike!" "What if I made you human? It's the reason you are a fallen correct? Because you wanted to be one so badly that you left it turn your wings black." Grace froze at his offer. It was true, she wanted to be human but... "Go back to the apartment, don't let anyone leave, okay?" She asked him before flying off. Blake followed her, having his gloves on and wolverine claws out.

"be careful." Alex said softly, hoping grace heard him as she flew away. He didn't want her to do anything reckless and get hurt. 'what did she mean by you will understand soon enough?' he thought to himself. He went to the apartment as instructed. "Jake, I don't know what's up, but she took off with a demon, and told me to come here and not to let anyone leave. What is she doing?" he asked quickly all hurried and worried. "the guy was looking for you." he added

Sam stood up as alex came backin, but didn't leave jakes side one bit. She knew she was safe right there and that's where she was staying. He would save her, if Alex failed to, and it just seems that he might be slipping and she was worried something bad was going to go down.

Jack looked up when Alex came back but he didn't move. After hearing him out he crossed his arms over his chest. "I don't know know what's going her head, but we were told not to leave this apartment, so we'll just have to make sure she's got a place to come back to." He said with a small playful smirk as if taking this in as a game or something. When Alex mentioned the guy was looking for him he only smirked a little more. Jack was weak and he knew it, but he wasn't about to admit it.

Grace landed on a high rooftop and folded her large raven wings over her chest. "Let's chat, Mr. Wolverine..." She said in a promising tone. Blake landed in front of her and arched an eyebrow. "What's it gonna take to get you to leave my friends alone?" "Defeating you I guess since you're their bodyguard." He replied. She smirked and flapped her wings and the loose feather hurled themselves towards him like blades. "Not gonna happen loser." Blake guarded as well as he could but still got scratches up pretty good.

Alex didn't like how Jake was taking this one bit. His partner, and Alexs close friend, might need help, not just sitting by and waiting for her to show back up. "if that's what your going to do then fine, but I'm going back out to help." he tried to say as he grabbed up his sword once again.

Sam looked at Alex "maybe she wants you to stay here so your safe. I know that I may have come across mean to you but that's not the case. If I was her I would have done the same, to protect you. She likes you lex, it's easy to see." she said, not really knowing where the truth came from but she was glad she finally came out with it.

Jack stood in front of him. "Sam's right. Don't think for a minute I like sitting around and waiting but last we got lucky. You might not get so lucky this time, and then what? I can't help her anymore, and neither can you if your dead. That's why we have to stay put, understand?" He asked, his point being if he walked out that door more-than-likely he'd be killed.

Grace did a run and jump off the rooftop and let her raven wings open wide before starting to flap and flew towards the forest where no humans could be harmed. Blake of course followed closely behind her and they continued their battle-to-the-death up in the clouds.

Alex didn't say anything else, he just took his sword and went into his room, shutting the door rather hard. He couldn't just stand by and let her fight. But he couldn't do anything to help her even if she wanted. Knowing that she loved him, so he hoped she would get back soon.

Sam sighed and sat back down where she was before. "out of all of this I know the least. This whole thing just sucks." she said bringing her knees up and covering her face.

Jack sighed quietly, mostly to himself, and sat with his back against the back of the couch.

When the battle was finally over Grace landed gracefully on her feet as light as a feather and hardly a scratch on her. "Won't be seeing him tormenting my friends." She said smugly and folded her raven wings over her chest then her gaze found the river that everyone kept talking about; the clearest and cleanest river out there.

Sam rested her head on jakes shoulder again like she did before. Being by his side made her feel safe, and she knew he would look after her if times got hard again.

Alex was laying on his bed, music blaring. He was deep in thought about what grace could have meant about his being special to her, and that he would find out soon enough. She already sacrificed her way to heaven because of him, so he was kind of lost on how he could be special to someone that was on her way to the best place out there.

Jack glanced at her with a small smile before reaching into his pocket and gently placing a silver whistle in her hand. "If ever need me, no matter where you are, just blow into that and I'll hear it." He said quietly.

Grace knelt before the river. Hey Alex, what would you say to me becoming human...? She thought to him, more curious about his answer would be then what she felt about becoming one.

Alex looked up after hearing graces voice. 'I like you for who you are, not what you are. Your perfect the way you are.' he thought back in reply. That was how he truly felt, he didn't like her for her being an angel, he liked her for being the person that she was. He sat there quietly, not sure why she was asking, but he just wanted her back.

Sam took the wistle and looked at Jake. "I don't you to leave though." he said with a sad look on her face. She didn't want someone as close as him to leave, she knew that Alex wasn't going to be the same because he had grace, whatever form she was in now, but she didn't want him to go.

With his reply, she smiled a little and folded her wings over behind her back and walked back towards the apartment. Opening the door and closing it quietly behind her when she was in the small building. She glanced around and smirked, using her magic to make a more comfortable living space but it was still small enough to be considered an apartment.

Jack placed a light hand on her head. "You won't have to worry about me leaving, but if you go on vacation or I'm just flying around, we need our space just like you humans." He smiled kindly then heard Grace come in and saw the place rearrange itself, he shook his head lightly. 'Oi.' He thought with a soft chuckle.
