Are you an Adult 20 or older?

Well this thread will be for you. Welcome to the Club! This thread will be for the Adults on Menewsha to chat, hangout, and meet others their own age. Make a new friend, or whatever. So come in and let's chat. Bumps are more than welcome.

Please note those ages 18 and 19 will be welcomed if they can carry on a decent conversation with the others aged 20+ if all you want to do is flame, act stupid and generally make an idiot of yourself then stay with the rest of the children in other threads. Post crap in here you won't be impressing anyone and will be ignored by those who come here for decent conversation.

(This thread is a rated PG13. All languages foreign or domestic are welcomed!)

Violators Beware!

Menewsha Online Rules and Guidelines
(Even though this is the Adult Club, these rules apply here as well.)

(To ensure your safety and security, please do not give out your full name, phone number or address to anyone on the internet. Thank you!)

Message Postings:

1. We recommend that you keep your posts relevant to the forum in which you are currently in. Try to make your posts informative and/or entertaining. We understand that there's always some 'noise' in the form of bumps, greetings and so on. On the whole, please show some relevance.

2. No stalking. Persistent harassment of an individual or group of individuals against their wishes is not permitted on Menewsha Online. If someone asks you to stop, please leave them alone. Continued harassment will result in banishment.

3. No overly abusive language. We have a very liberal policy regarding language, but please try to be civil and courteous towards your fellow Menewshans. If your post is excessively vulgar, insulting, explicit, self-deprecating or racist without any justification, you will be banned. (Please try to refrain from flaming others? Excessive and overly abusive insults will result in banishment from the Club for anyone.)

4. Endorsing illicit activities or encouraging crime is not permitted.

5. When commenting artworks or reviewing web links, please try to be constructive in your criticism or praise. If your comments are found to be excessively insulting or vulgar, your account may be banned by a site moderator of Menewsha after being reported.

6. Sexually explicit posts maybe deleted. Cybering is absolutely not allowed in the forums. (Cybering is roleplayed sex acts.)

Image Postings:

1. Try to keep your images PG-13. Tasteful nudity in the art forums is allowed on a case-by-case basis, but on the whole, it is a good idea to cater to a range of audiences. This includes the very young.

Unoriginal is a commodity. Plus, I was bored. Srsly, why are you making a 20 over chat? It's kinda pointless, seeing as people are going to post regardless.

Well the forum is open, happy chatting everyone. Unfortunalty I have to open and run for now as the hubby will be home very shortly and I've got the good old weekly grocery shop to do. So happy chatting tonight and see you all tomorrow when I return!

*waves* Good evening.

Actually it's not as pointless as you think, there are alot of people out there who get bored of having to fight to find decent conversations out there amongst the children that also run around this site so, make the forum and they can come here and talk to others in and around their ages.

Granted you'll get a few hopless people out there who will think it is funny to post and run but they are easily ignored and forgotten. So thanks for sharing your humble opinon with us here tonight and hey see you in a few years perhaps.

*waves* nighty night.

There are also a lot of people out there who get tired of having people assume that they are incapable of basic conversation on the basis of age. You joined two days ago and have made eight posts on this community. How do you know the general atmosphere and behavior of its members? I despise ageism, and I don't appreciate your snarky attitude toward younger people. Perhaps you should readjust your attitude to reflect that of a mature adult's if you expect to find mature adult conversation.

I find a lot of the people on this site are generally good to talk to, despite age. Yeah, there are the odd few idiots, but that's life really. The majority of people here you can have fairly good conversations with at the least. I'm 21 and I would say a lot of the people on this site act more mature than me, even the younger ones. So, age is a silly judge of mature-ness.

Not that I think this thread shouldn't be here or anything. Just saying.

1 - Behind the mask of adulthood, you're surprisingly even more imature that Marionetta, who was just playing.
2 - You're breaking Menewsha's rules by not putting quote tags on your post.

Is hypocrisy a requirement for this thread?

Also this belongs in the Hangouts Forum. *waves* Nighty night.

*eyeroll* I don't think I want to join a club that excludes people based on their age. It seems rude and unfair. I'd rather decide based on what I can see of the general populations posting styles.

I find this slightly offensive.. who are these 'children' who are making idiots of themselves in the rest of menewsha? I'd like to know where you got that impression from?

I'm all for making a thread to talk in, though it should be in The Menewsha Nation.

Also, age doesn't define maturity, or the ability to hold a 'decent' conversation.

And all of your rules seem to be desperately underestimating the menewsha users and the staff. If everyone did those things, they would have been banned from the site already. Although I suspect it may just be your way of 'earning' more gold?

Dang guys, she made a hangout thread (obviously in the wrong forum, as we've all noticed) which she's free to do and have it be about whatever she pleases (following site rules).
Could her wording have been better? Possibly.
But she's free to think how she wants about age and it's rude of you guys to come in here and think you need to give her some kind of lesson on age and maturity.
She'll learn about the site and community in time and maybe that will change her outlook, but right now it just looks like we're a bunch of a sarcastic pricks that jump down people's throats for thinking how they want to think.

Most of us weren't being rude, just stating that this wasn't the kind of thing we hoped to see. I mean who likes to be excluded over things they can't help?

I just don't see the point in fussing over it. There are plenty of other hangouts, not to mention forums which you could end up talking to her in (which may sway her opinion on excluding those of a certain age).

Once upon a time, there was such a thread: http://www.menewsha.com/forum/commun...-2k-pages.html

And even now there's this one: http://www.menewsha.com/forum/commun...aged-mene.html

And here's an Aussie one! http://www.menewsha.com/forum/commun...l-welcome.html

These are all narrowed down to things people can't help. Again, could she have worded her intro better? Possibly.
But, I think if someone came in and was mature and the kind of person she wanted to hang out with despite being out of the age range, then she'd let them stay.

Hm... I read all the posts in this thread and all I have to say is, "sigh..."

Anyways would the original poster mind if I post a question to get the thread off on the right track (while there is still time)?

Quote:
How do you feel about early Black Friday shopping on Thanksgiving Day?
As for myself, I see it in two ways. In a way, it isn't right because Thanksgiving is a time to spend with family and not to go out shopping. On the other hand like my great aunt said; if it means a paycheck, then it helps the workers of that store and the people shopping there.

Thanksgiving isn't the holiday it use to be, now we're shopping on that day instead of spending time with our families. Now it is just a Pre-holiday boost up (Pre-Christmas jump start) for gift buying. I can understand a store opening at 10pm or midnight, but stores opening right now... That's just crazy and it's getting to commercialized now. If I had the cash, I would be guilty of going out on Black Friday. Although it is crammed packed with costumers on that day. What makes it worst is slow walking shoppers. :S

Anyways, I hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving and remember spend some time with your family. :)

Edit: If you want to post the question I asked, please put it in the quote tag, thank you! :)

I thought my post was pretty fair.
Purely stating the truth. . . Or at least what I thought at the time.
I'm starting to see her point.

Anyway, we don't have Black Friday here, or Thanksgiving for that matter.
But I think it's silly that there would be a crazy sale day on a public holiday.
Over here most things are shut/close early on a holiday.

I also think Black Friday would be hell, I hate shopping as it is, but shopping in mass crowds is just, pure horror. Dx

I am sorry if I offended anyone by the first sentence of my first post in this thread. I just find it pointless to argue in general.

The first sentence I postedX

I see everyone has their reasons to say what they have to say. Hence why I said what I said. I am neutral. I agree with no side. I am neither for the Original Poster, nor am I in agreement with the other posters. I believe all posts have their valid reasons.

Ah, I hadn't thought about the paycheck thing. I remember seeing something on the news about it though. The employees were against it I think.
I don't even think stores should open at midnight. =\
Earliest maybe 5am.
Not only does opening earlier and earlier kind of take away from that family time, but people might be drunk, and wanting to go to these sales.

Our Best Buy, about an hour away, is opening at midnight. We have a dinner to go to and I didn't like the prospect of possibly having to leave early to get there and get a good spot in line. (We were planning on going, but some things didn't work out.)

I've been to a couple Black Fridays. I even stood in line at a Best Buy when I was out of town.
We just got a couple movies and a CD. Hardly worth it I think.
I am glad I skipped out on a lot of the crowding though!

Haha, it just seems pretty crazy.
I do most of my shopping online anyway.
Apart from this year, i'm going to have to do christmas shopping out in the real world.
I'm scared. xD

I get REALLY stroppy when i'm shopping.

Are you doing the whole "Cyber Monday" thing then? :O

Aww, don't be scared! I like online shopping because you can find things for cheap, but then you have to take into account tax and shipping. And then wait. * -*
Sometimes I get stuff online, but I guessing shopping in the real world is more satisfying for me.

I usually don't have cash for "Cyber Monday". If I did, I would buy stuff within reason. Unfortunately, I am not able to. :S

@Ikuto Akihiko- I do agree with you though. Shopping in stores is more satisfying than shopping online. Although, I did buy my cellphone last night and so did my great aunt. At least we have the phones we wanted. :D!

No Cyber Mondays? :O
I think most stores that do Black Friday participate in it.
There's this site that kind of... compiles everything.
