None, I think the whole gaming ban crap is stupid. I think parents shouldn't buy their kids games with 18 signs on them. They're the ones that ruin it for everyone else.

Agreed with SexualPlacebo. I mean unless you know your kid can handle that kind of game, don't buy it for them, and store shouldn't sell 18A games to kids at all. They can't tell if the kid can handle it so ask for id.

There will always be ways around it, but banning is just dumb.

No game, no matter what, should be banned. People need to learn to accept that it isn't reality. And if they can't accept it....they should be banned from video games. :feesh:

That's why at American Wal-Marts, we ask for your ID or no sale. Parents only buy 18+ or M games.

GameStop makes you go get your mom/dad if you are under 18 and wanna buy something like Skyrim or Mortal Kombat.

None. Games are a type of artform just like music or movies.
If you don't want your kids playing certain games, it's up to you to control that. That's part of parenting.

There was an interview a while back about some lady complaining about Mass Effect and making a huge deal about the sex scene in it. It's like an 80 hour game and the scene takes up maybe 10 seconds.
There was a game reviewer there too, defending the game. he asked her if she had ever even played it and she paused for a few seconds and said no.

Maybe before people go off and rant about games, they should do a little research first, so they know what they're talking about.

Sex scene? What sex scene? I've seen more on Glee than in that ten seconds of Mass Effect.

Games shouldn't be banned. But the age limits on them should be better enforced. I don't want to see a ten year old playing something like Dragon Age, but that doesn't mean that nobody should be allowed to play it.

Well said, Carzee!

Or, for example, Witcher, which I just found out my eleven year-old cousin is playing. D:

There are no bad games, but there are certainly games that are better suited to older audiences.

Heck I think Saints Row 3 is a lot worse than Hyperdimension Neptunia and Otomedius Excellent combined O.o I just think it's funny that people complain about Japanese games when the American made ones don't get such treatment, as far as I know.

I don't think games should be banned. Censorship is not ethical as it violates a person's first amendment rights.

Did I mention how I feel about censorship? If you don't like it, don't buy/look/listen to it. Use your real life ignore button.

You know I think I've become desensitized because of anime, I get annoyed hearing people complain when stuff is censored, every country does it I think? I don't really care what they do as long as the game is fun and has a reason for me to play it.

No, the problem is the parents not saying no.

The problems are also the weird kids that are stupid enough to copy the games. :/

I agree completely. Though it's not just parents not telling their kids no, it's also said parents not researching the games. I feel like a good deal of parents are expecting the government to monitor their kids' lives for them. Whether this is due to laziness or just not knowing better, I have no clue.

While I do agree with you on people going out to play sports instead of playing sport games on their TVs, I don't think they should be banned. Sports games can be good for the kids that feel uncomfortable about their skills. I mean, with how bullying seems to be a popular "hobby", it's not surprising that a kid who might not be good at a sport to rather play the video game.

However, those kids ought to get their parents/family/friends to go outside and practice with them.

Not all sports require you to be on a team though, but yeah because of Final Fasntasy I grew up acting all emo and anti-social due to Cloud and Squall because "I thought it was cool." Not good role models >.>

True, they don't. But, to me at least, sports are more fun when you have people to play with.

And Cloud and Squall are horrible role models in the sense that their anti-social attitudes really aren't appealing. To be honest, I didn't ever look to any video game character as a role model. Most of the female ones had the whole "damsel in distress" gimmick. Or seemed too sexy, so to say. Yes, Lara Croft would be a decent choice as she is brave and is a heroine. However, she was too good-looking. :(

Role models shouldn't be taken from games, movies etc.
People really should find their role models from real life...
Game/movie characters are made that way for a reason, they fit their environment, they're so not meant to be realistic. That's why it's called escapism.

I think none should be banned and that age things should be seen as a suggestion.

Long as your child understands that it is fiction and they CANNOT DO THIS in real life for whatever reason....then your child can play the game.

I knew I could never be a dragon or ride a dragon or cast magical spells or anything....no matter how cool it would be if I could. I knew it was fiction and moved on with my life.

Magic and Dragons are one thing, but hijacking cars and murdering people is a different story.

Because somehow that'll translate into real life.

Crime statistically has gone down due to video games and has not increased at all since it has existed.

Blaming video games for influencing children is stupid. I've played GTA since I was like 8 and I know real life from fiction.
