Wouldn't you rather like, have them around and be your best friend instead of just killing and eating it?

I don't eat my pets (Nibbler! ); but the ones that aren't my pets, I don't mind eating.

true! if you have no emotional bond to them, it's easier. But with me, I refuse to eat anything I find cute.
I won't eat cats, squirrels, bunnies, baby cows, those eggs with the dead chicks in them from the Philippines (those are just...gross. it's not even a cute thing. they are just gross), monkeys, unicorns, sugar gliders, hedgehogs, penguins, dolphins, annnd...the list continues on

Ew!! I would never eat those half-eggs either. Dx

But aside from that, I'd eat everything on that list you posted. > w>

I'm still kinda sad that I didn't get to try out dog meat while I was in Guilin when I had the chance.

Just...it's just nasty! I don't know how anyone could eat those things!

-shudders-
I couldn't do it.
it's the idea.
I would picture those poor animals. ;__;

I just see 'foooood...'

According to the people who've eaten the half-egg thing, they say it tastes pretty good. I still wouldn't touch it with a ten-foot pole though.

I know what's inside of those things, and the mere thought of eating them disgusts me.
I've heard they can get rid of an hangover, but I wouldn't eat them just for that.
If someone paid me 3000 bucks or something, then yeah I might do it.

I'm still not eating those things. Unless they make that $5000. In Euros. >_>

I know. ;-;
Like I said, I think of the animals and how cute they are when they are cooked.

adult chickens, cows, turkeys, and pigs are fair game, tho.

nah, I won't.

My family lived in the country, so they hunted and ate a lot of wild animals.
One time when my mom and aunt was babysitting a kid, they fed her rabbit and let the girl think it was chicken nuggets so she would eat it.

Yeah halibut is a fish.

I remember feeding our chickens their own eggs before. I didn't know it was bad for them.

It's bad for them? How? Is it like cannibalism where you get holes in your brain?

Hmm, I don't know if it's physically bad for them. It was just a " You don't do that!" kind of thing.

...Oh.

Eggs I think is okay...the chicken farms here kill the male hatchlings and then ground the still wet and bloody bodies up into chicken feed. Actually, some of them were probably still alive when they got tossed into the mangler.

---------- Post added 03-14-2013 at 12:52 PM ----------

@Momo: Yeah. It's one of the reasons why cannibalism is frowned upon, I think. There was this tribe somewhere that traditionally ate the flesh off the bodies of their deceased in order to honor them in their death...sort of a "he/she is still with me" mentality. But after many generations, problems began to show up, and I think the holes in the brain was one of them.

...Or maybe that was the mad cow disease and I somehow got the two mixed up.

that's just sick and wrong. I may eat them, but I rather them have a quick and painless death than go through...that.
I think the way they process chickens here is scary.

oh gosh, you should see what mechanically separated meat looks like.
you will never want to eat meat that is mechanically separated again.

I think the ones here just cut their throats with a knife and bleed them out before de-feathering them.

What's mechanically separated meat like?
