Sweat beaded on the brunette’s forehead some trickling down his cheek. Haphazardly he wiped it away with his arm using it as a chance to take a break. The sun was already high in the sky and it was miserably hot. Why not stop and take a break for lunch. His brother and father seemed to agree with him and the three of them tramped back through the fields back towards the lone two houses and barn that resided on their stretch of property. Isaac’s twenty three year old brother Kelvin lived there with his wife Nora and their two children Ivan and Rena. A son and daughter age four and two a real handful at times. Isaac still lived with his widowed father in the other house until the time when Isaac decided he wanted to marry and move away. Or like his brother stay on the property, build his own house, and raise a family there. Lunch was a large meal they all ate together in his father’s house, a noisy crowded affair Isaac always enjoyed.
But despite seeing how content his father and brother were with their life he couldn’t shake the feeling that this type of life wasn’t for him. Sure he hadn’t known any other way but he just knew deep down he was meant for something other than farm life. Sighing he put the thought from his mind and tucked in to eat his meal.

Soon enough the trio was back out in the hot sun bringing in the rest of the seasons crops they did pretty well for only being a three manned farm. The day was long and it was hard but at the end of it they all felt accomplished because now they didn’t have to worry about anything happening to the crops. Isaac swiped at his forehead mopping up the sweat his arm, or at least spread it around, sweat glistened on his chest matching the other two shirtless men as he followed his father and brother back home.

(Sorry not my best starter >< lol but I have never done a farm boy before. All in all I don't think I did half bad)

((It was good =) Sorry about taking so long, but now it's started I should get around to giving more replies. I'll do the other one tomorrow night, it's 5am now and I should probably head to bed xD ))

Unlike the others, Oseye was not as willing to simply give up on her home and after much thought, she'd decided it was time to take action. This land was crawling with evil and she would fight tooth and nail to cleanse it.

Much like now. Two days she'd been tracking a large, monstrous crow that had so far manage to elude her. Only once she'd actually seen it with her own eyes, but there were many rumours circulating around the smaller, human civilizations. The crow was ten times the size of a normal crow, it's eyes as black as it's heart and it's feathers.. it's feathers drained the life from anything they touched. This bird was a monstrosity and needed to be put down...

... And now was her chance. The crow had settled in the forest and gave an almighty flap of it's wings, sending loose feathers all around the area, creating a lovely 'dead' clearning for itself.

The large, red dragon circled the clearing several times before she took a nose dive and vanished into the forest. Seconds later, an ear splitting screech pierced the silence of the forest and sounds of a fight could be heard. The crow put up a vicious fight and even tried to fly away after realising it couldn't win, but there was no escape from Oseye. The large red reptile took to the sky to seal the birds fate, a visiable gash across her chest. Powerful front and hind legs wrapped around the black bird, paralysing the bird, preventing it from using it's wings or legs. Sharp teeth sank into the birds soft neck, a final desperate screech and that was that.

With the carcass still held tightly in her arms, Oseye glided back to the ground, landing in the 'dead' clearing.

An ear splitting screech rang through the air stopping Ivan and the other two men in their tracks they all exchanged a confused look. Ivan’s father pinned it to a bird and his brother agreed to loud to be a bird he thought still staring off in the direction of the noise. He wanted to go find what had made those screeches but was ushered on by his father and brother.

It was only after dark that he could make good on his escape and sneak out of the house, all night the noise he had heard earlier had been nagging at him. Leaves crunched under his feet as he walked through the woods. An owl hooted disturbed by his intrusion. He was going on pure memory and a feeling deep inside to lead him towards the source of the noise, something told him whatever had made that noise was still in the woods and it was nearby.
Unable to see well in the dark he stumbled and grabbed into a branch that snapped and sent him tumbling to the grass. The whole area looked dead, like it had been burned, or better yet the very life had been sucked out of the area. Dropping the branch he pushed himself to his feet and cautiously made his way into the clearing. Something told him this was where the thing he was looking for was.

The next few minutes passed by slowly as the body of the bird was dragged to the very center of the clearing and carelessly 'dumped' in a pile. Standing victorious over her kill, Oseye bowed her head, as if paying last respects to the bird. Another long moment passed before she lifted her head and decided it was time to dispose of the body. After taking a deep inhale, enough to make her nostrils flare, a mouthful of flame was released over the black bird, engulfing it in fire. Best burnt to a crisp than left for scavengers to eat and meet a nasty end.

As the body lay burning, Oseye finally took notice of her injuries and winced as her body finally allowed her to register just how sore she was. The gash on her chest was deep, the edges slowly turning an unhealthy shade of grey, the various other cuts and bruises were doing much the same. Ugh. Approaching the lake tainted by the birds feather, the dragon began to shrink and change, her body transforming from the large winged lizard to a tall, tanned woman in a simple silken dress. The dress was torn in several places, her injuries now plain to see and easy to reach.

Kneeling at the edge of the lake, Oseye bowed her head once more and shed a single tear into the dark water. The surface of the water rippled, the tear sank to the bottom and though it took a few minutes, eventually the water began to clear. The dragon wasted little time in using the clean water to tend to her injuries and that was the last thing she remembered. Her energy was drained, escaping drop by drop from the gash in her chest, Oseye slumped to the ground on the waters edge.
