On the way up the stairs they passed some rather peculiar looking demons and teams that were as random as they came. The match ups were going to be interesting, that was for sure. They finally reached the room and once Kurama had opened the door, Lux stepped inside and looked around. Well this looked nice, she couldn't sense anything 'off' about it, so headed for the couch and plopped herself down.

Hiei cleared the stairs in next to no time and was already waiting by the room door when the others finally arrived. Once the girls had gone inside, he entered too and made his way straight towards the window to catch a glimpse of the outside before night fell.

Aya checked out all the rooms, looking each one over briefly. They did indeed have two bedrooms, as well as the central room and a bathroom. She didn't think there would be much trouble. Especially since there was a tree not too far away from the window in one of the rooms. So she claimed that room, sitting on the bed in there.

Kurama looked around as well before going to put his bag in the other bedroom. Not bad, certainly. Not the best he'd seen, but far from the worst, as well. He didn't even say anything about Hiei going straight to the window.

Seeing as Aya and Kurama had claimed a room each, Lux decided to take a better look around their suite. The central room had everything they'd need; a couch, a pair of arm chairs and even a medium sized television, so at least she'd have something to watch while the others were asleep. She poked her head around the bedroom door that Aya had chosen, it didn't look all that cosy, but at least the bed looked comfy.

Hiei took a good look around, taking in everything he could. Several teams were using the training grounds, trying to get in a last bit of training before things kicked off tomorrow. There were still demons piling into the hotel and in the distance he could see bodies moving around the empty stadium seating. With a sigh, Hiei folded his arms across his chest and sat himself on the ledge, now turning his attention to his team mates.

Aya cracked the window in the bedroom she'd taken, so she could get some fresh air. Much nicer. Next step was to set a little trap, just enough to keep her safe at night when she got her few hours of sleep. A simple vine hiding under her bed did the trick. Any motion within six inches of her bed that wasn't calmed by her youki would set off the trap. Rather useful, actually.

And then she settled in to wait for a while, her ears swiveling as she listened to everything around them.

Kurama sighed quietly as he set his bag down. He had the feeling this was going to be a very long week, and now he wasn't entirely looking forward to it, either. Something about this whole setup reminded him of the Dark Tournament.

((Shall we do a time skip or something? Running low on things to type =p ))

After a thorough examination of the suites lay out, Lux settled back down on the couch and flicked on the television. There was very rarely anything of interest on, but she would still watch.

Hearing the tv, Hiei frowned and turned to look at it. He couldn't stand televisions, noisy things. So instead, he opened up the bedroom window, hopped up onto the ledge and crouched down, trying his best to ignore it.

((Sure. I'll go ahead and skip to the start of the tournament))

Aya leaned against the side of their rest room in the tournament area. They were actually below the level of the stadium, so they'd have to climb the stairs to get back up to the sand pit where they would do their fighting. They weren't due to fight for another ten minutes or so; they were the fourth fight of the day. She wasn't worried about this first round in the least.

Kurama was seated near Hiei, the two of them having decided to go watch the fights from ground level before it was their turn. So far, most of the competition didn't look too threatening. But they hadn't even seen half of the teams that would be competing. This whole scenario was very familiar, in an almost unsettling way.

((Thanks =) ))

Lux had decided to remain in their rest room too, she sat on the ground with her back against the wall and as per usual, music playing so loud from her headphones it was a wonder it didn't deafen her. Instead it kept her calm and took her mind off what was about to happen. This would be her first time in a tournament like this with three people she didn't know all that well.

Hiei was sat beside Kurama, watching the fights with only mild interest. Nothing overly interesting happened during the first round, the weakest teams were eliminated and that was about it. It would be during the next few rounds that they would finally be able to better judge the remaining teams and work out who which would be the thorn in their side.

Aya looked over at her new friend, concern briefly creasing her brow. She tapped Lux's boot with one of her own. "You doing okay so far?" she asked, raising her eyebrows. She wasn't nervous, but she also had some idea of what to expect, since she'd watched the games before.

Kurama stood at the end of that round. "We should get back. We'll be fighting soon." He didn't even need to look at Hiei, simply assuming the smaller demon would follow him back to their rest room. He didn't expect any difficulties this round, but he was curious to see how the other two would do.

Lux lifted her head, looking at the Kitsune after having noticed the attempt to get her attention. The music from her headphones came to an abrupt stop and she gave a slight nod of her head. "So far, yes. I don't like sitting around waiting, it makes me nervous."

Hiei just nodded in agreement and followed the red head from the stands and into their rest room. Both of the females were inside, talking to one another from the looks of it. Arms folding across his chest, the short demon stood on the opposite side of the room and leant against the wall. "Ready?"

"More than." Aya grinned cheerily at the smaller demon, offering Lux a hand up. "How've they been chosing the opponents?"

"Random lottery." Kurama looked at them. "For these rounds. In later rounds we will be allowed to pick who we wish to fight."

"Sounds good to me." Aya rolled her shoulders. "Let's get going, then."

Seeing that all of the team was now present, Lux took the offered hand and stood up, thanking Aya as she did so. They would be allowed to pick who they fought in the later rounds? Well that was going to be interesting.

Hiei said nothing more until he heard their team announced over the tannoy. Finally, time to fight! "About time.." He muttered, turning and taking the all too familiar walk from the team room to the arena. A bench sat either side of the ring, one for each team. Hiei approached theirs, but didn't sit down, instead he looked across to the other team. Hn. Nothing difficult, four low level demons.

Lux followed Hiei and the others out and to the bench. Her attention wasn't on the other team however, but on the crowds around them. There were so many eyes upon them and so much noise.. her headphones began to play music once more, drowning out the chorus of cheers and boo's from around them.

((I'm not so good at fight scenes because i don't do them often so if it's fine with you i'm just going to skip them for the first couple rounds?))

Aya glanced at Kurama to see which of them would go forward as the team representative, and then motioned for him to go. She stood next to Lux, watching everything, her tail swishing behind her.

Kurama looked at the leader of the other team and didn't say anything, instead simply watching while they both entered the names of their teammates. First up was Aya against a big ogre. They often looked stronger than they actually were, he knew, so he simply moved back to the bench.

Aya cracked her knuckles and stretched out briefly. "See you in a few." She patted Lux's shoulder and went to the center of the ring. She was hoping she wouldn't have to even use any energy for this fight. It should be pretty easy.

((That's fine with me =) We could just do a brief summary for later fights, if you'd prefer.))

An ogre? Hiei snorted in amusement as he took his seat at the end of the bench. While he didn't know much about Aya or even how strong she was, there was little doubt in his mind that she'd beat this ogre without even breaking a sweat. Looking over the remaining three, he doubted this round would take them long.

Lux sat down on the bench and watched the first match up was made, Aya and some large ogre. While he may have been big, that appeared to be all he really had going for him. "G'luck." She said, looking to Aya as she left the team and approached the center of the ring to fight.

((sounds good to me ^^))

Aya made it to the center, and then she even let the ogre take the first swing. The large club missed her as she moved, dancing away, laughing at him. After that, she made quick work of him, not even bothering to use any of her energy. She just tripped him, and when his head bounced off the ring, he didn't get up again. Especially after she kicked his head once for good measure.

She hopped out of the ring, grinning briefly at Lux. Well. That had been easy.

Kurama nodded to her. It may not have been a difficult fight, but it was still a victory. Every victory deserved to be acknowledged, at least. And now he knew this round wouldn't take very long.

Such a simple fight and the ogre had done most of the work for her. A fall and a swift kick to the head was all it took. Hiei smirked as Aya left the ring and walked over them. Not long after the ogre had been removed from the ring, he was called up to fight what seemed to be an elderly man. Of course, Hiei was far too fast and made quick work of him with a single slash of his katana.

Lux watched as the first two opponents were dispatched of with little effort. She'd caught the grin from Aya and her nerves finally settled, this round was going to be a breeze, even Hiei's match didn't last more than a few minutes. The ring was emptied once again and she was then called up to fight. A weasley looking man was her opponent. The fight was over just as quickly as the others. He put all of his body into a single punch and she took advantage of this, ducking the punch and placing her forefinger against the males chest. He jumped back and fell to the ground, body twitching violently, he failed to stand again and after a countdown, Lux was announced winner.

Kurama ended up fighting the leader of the group, who seemed to be an average person. He bulked up until he had more muscles than a body builder, laughing like this would be an easy fight. Kurama raised his eyebrows and dispatched the demon with a few slashes of his Rose Whip.

Aya grinned. "Alright! Now we're done for the day. Unless you guys wanted to stick around and watch the rest of the fights." She wasn't planning on sticking around. In fact, she was planning on going and having a little celebration for even getting into the tournament and getting past the first round. Silly, she knew, but she hadn't had anything to celebrate for a while. She'd even let the others join her, if they wanted to.

Lux returned to the bench and sat herself down, the music started but not as loudly as before. The fight had been fun, the rounds would slowly increase in difficulty and she was looking forward to finally be able to fight a worthy opponent. Kurama's fight ended with the same result as the others. As Aya spoke, the music stopped and she looked upto her, shaking her head. She didn't want to stick around and watch the fights. "I might go have a proper look around the island."

Hiei watched his friends fight with the same amusement as the others, it didn't surprise him at all that the opponents were beaten and they took the win. Standing, he folded his arms across his chest and looked over the rest of his 'team'. He wouldn't sit around and watch anymore of the fights, there was little point until the fights started properly.

Aya nodded. "I was planning on going and finding a spot to relax for a while if you want to come with." Her eyes flickered to Kurama and Hiei as well before returning to Lux.

Kurama had no opinion on the matter. He was fine with going back to the hotel to read, and he figured that Hiei would probably go train or find a nice tree to sit in. So he didn't say anything.

Hiei had originally intended on going off on his own and finding somewhere quiet to sit until later that night, but given the number of demons around, finding peace was going to be difficult. While he'd usually remain quiet and simply vanish, the short demon instead gave a slight nod of his head to Aya, deciding to go along with her for a bit. A strong demon or not, it didn't mean he could trust her and he wanted to keep an eye on her.

Lux looked from the still Kurama to the nodding Hiei, then back to Aya. While she'd have loved to sit with a familiar face in an unfamiliar setting, it was probably a good idea for her to explore the island for a bit and try to find the best source of electricity in case she needed it. "I'll come find you later." She said, adjusting the headphones over her ears. "I want to have a look around first."

Aya nodded. "Alright. Have fun, Lux. I'll see you later." She smiled at her friend, stretching briefly. She was rather surprised to see that Hiei would be joining her, but she didn't say anything. Instead she raised an eyebrow at Kurama.

Kurama looked at the two for a moment before he shook his head slightly. He wasn't feeling quite so social at the moment, so he figured he'd simply go read for a while. Even though he wasn't in school anymore, he still loved to read. And now would be a good time to catch up on some things.

Hiei looked to Kurama too and was surprised to see him shake his head. He was usually the sociable one, but today he didn't seem to be in the mood. Was there something on his mind or did he simply want some time to himself? Either way, Hiei would give him some space for now.

Lux gave a lazy wave of her hand, before turning and starting off into the crowds, music soon blaring from her headphones to drown out the sounds of those around her. While she had intended on finding a generator of sorts, she couldn't help but get caught up looking over the stalls set up just outside the stadium.

Aya started walking in the opposite direction, looking for somewhere quieter. She didn't look back to see if Hiei was following her or not; she figured he'd do what he wanted. So she kept walking for a few minutes, stopping just past the edge of the trees, near the edge of the island, where the dirt was just turning to sand. Letting out a quiet breath, she sat down there.

Kurama looked after Lux before heading after her. He had to go that way to get to the hotel, after all, and he was rather curious. It had been a long time since he'd seen an array of stalls like this. It was one of the things he did miss about his old life.

Looking back to Aya, he watched as she started to walk away, before slowly following behind. They weren't walking long before a nice quiet spot was found for the two of them. While the female sat on the dirt and sand, the shorter demon hopped up into the nearest tree and settled down on the lowest branch. Up here he had a good view of the ocean surrounding them and the stadium behind them.

There were so many stalls around, many of them selling food and the usual tat sold at such events. Keeping her hands buried deep in her pockets, Lux stopped at a nearby stall selling hand made jewelry, if only to watch the owner. The demon running the stall had many bracelets and necklaces hanging from his horns and tusks.

Aya stayed there, relaxing and listening to the waves. It was very relaxing. And pretty. She could tell Hiei wasn't far away, but she didn't try to bug him or anything. Instead she stretched out a little more, listening to everything around them.

Kurama moved up next to her. "Interesting, isn't it?" he asked quietly. "You can't often find places like this. The last time I saw a selection like this was at least a few decades ago." He smiled faintly, watching the demon work with the jewelry.

Hiei sat quietly, watching the sunlight reflecting off the waters surface. While normally he'd have been quite happy with the silence, he found himself looking to Aya and cocking his head. "Why did you and sparky want to enter the tournament?" He asked, gaze set upon her.

The music stopped in her left ear headphone as Kurama spoke and she looked up to him, then back to the stall as the demon started hopping on one foot, making the beads dance and clink together. "It is interesting, I've never been to a place like this before." She said, smiling as she watched the demon.
