((this is going ot be funny xD))

Caly let herself be lead a moment silently. She began to feel more nervous as the other girl said how short it was... if it was tight and short there was far too much risk. She had hoped for a different style... but still maybe it was just at the knees and be okay? Her hopeful thoughts were quickly dashed, however, as she looked at the tiny piece of cloth. She bit her lip, freezing instantly. She could only stare a moment before she started backing away.

"I...I... I dont t-think the style would suit my body type... you'd be better finding someone else" She stammered, looking like a frightened deer. It scared the hell out of her and she wasn't sure what to do. It seemed to late to back up but she still would try. She was already so attached to Rose.. she didn't want to lose her just because she was a freak...

((Probably XDD ))

“Oh nonsense! It may look small but I’m sure it’ll fit!” Tanacita smiled happily, giving her the dress, “Though you might have some trouble putting it on…Rosie why don’t you go help her?” she suggested, pointing them to the nearest change room.

Rose took a look and noticed how nervous Caly was. “Mom I don’t know maybe she shouldn’t--”

“Of course then, maybe you can wear it Rosie~”

“You know Caly, I’m sure it’ll look great on you!” Rose suddenly stated, pushing her ahead with the dress. She liked Caly a lot but there was NO WAY she was going to wear it herself. Besides, Rose was sure she would look better in it than her; she was already so very pretty.

"b...but I... i can't" She stuttered and squirmed as she was pushed towards the dressing room. She was frowning, too polite and shy to just yell or push them back. She bit her lip and looked at the dress. It was beautiful and if she was just a true girl probably would have looked very good on her. She just shook her head no, and began to back away... She tried to pull away and struggled, however, the dress caught on a chair. The dress caused her to trip then and her skirt flipped up.

Normally when she dressed loli she wore bloomers which also helped hide her... consistences. She had been forced to change, however, due to what happened to her pair during the fight. Apparently trashcans hold a whole wealth of things one does not want to wear. Due to the normal underwear she was wearing Rose would undoubtedly see the impression... Instantly She knew it was over... Rose knew.

She pulled herself into a seated position pulling her skirt back into place... if it'd been one of her home pairs it would have been enchanted to hide it but of course these were some dosom had on hand. She felt tears prick her eyes and lowered her head in shame. It was over... she was too sad to even blush. Rose would abandon her too... Would call her disgusting, tainted, and worse.

"I...i...i'm sorry... I...i'll leave... I... i didn't mean to trouble you..." She muttered as tears streamed down her cheeks. She then would try to stand, not realizing she'd twisted her ankle. Apparently it'd been more hurt in the fight then she thought and since Dosom had healed everythign but it... With a whimper of pain she fell to the ground again, holding her ankle tightly.

((OMG SHE BREAKS MY HEART! :gonk: /HUGS ))

“Hey don’t worry it’ll be over soon!” Rose tried to assure her, but didn’t notice that Caly’s dress was caught on a chair. At least, until she fell over. Rose didn’t think much about it (except horrified that she had knocked her over) and went to help her up when she saw it.

And just like that, Rose went into shock.

Caly wasn’t a girl?? But…she…he…Caly looked so much like one! How…what…?! Rose couldn’t even describe the shock she felt. Should she be shocked? Angry that she was lied to?? For once, Rose hadn’t a clue what to do.

She was brought out of her stupor when she heard Caly fall back onto the floor, clutching her ankle. Apparently Dosom hadn’t fixed up all Caly’s injuries, or simply didn’t notice this one. She heard her mother gasp from behind at the twisted ankle, and moved past her to check it out.

“..sie? Rosie!” Said girl gave a start and quickly paid attention to her mother, who now looked more like her public persona. “Rosie I’ll take Caly to the guest bedroom. You go get the ice pack from the kitchen and bring it to me there.” She instructed. Rosie, for once, nodded silently, and quickly left the room, leaving Caly and her mother behind.

“Shhh, sweetheart you don’t need to cry,” Tanacita softly cooed, slowly picking up the girl bridal style. She was surprisingly light for a girl her age, and the woman swiftly made her way to the bedrooms. “Everything will b alright,” she assured her, holding her close as if she was her own.

"n...no its not... She'll hate me now...just like the others..." Caly responded in a depressed tone as she frowned at her hands. She let herself be picked up without another word, it didn't matter now. Rose would hate her and the blooming friendship would be over. She stayed limp and light as a feather in the other womans arms though she did briefly close her eyes and lean her head into the other woman's chest. When her eyes were closed like this it felt so much like her mother...

"Mom understood.... she understood i'm really a girl..." Caly continued pathetically, too many old wounds having convinced her that the same pattern was inevitable. She wiped her eyes a moment without opening them and simply let herself be carried. Once she was sat down she looked at her feet, rubbing her lower leg as she thought. She wasn't sure what to say at first... Guilt as always filling her. To be herself she had to lie, such a contradiction...

"I... I can call my father...y...you dont have to be so nice to me. I...am sorry I caused so much trouble." She whispered, still not looking the woman in the eyes. She didn't want to see disappointment there...

“Now sweetheart, what trouble did you cause?” Tanacita asked, lifting her face to meet hers. “All I did see was a young girl who made my daughter much happier ever since she started school.” She smiled earnestly, wiping away the remaining tears on her face. “If that was trouble, then I welcome it with open arms.”

“And you may not know this, but Rosie has never brought anyone home of her free will,
” she replied, like it was an everyday thing, “Usually someone’s hurt and she brings them somewhere to get better and leaves. She must’ve felt something special with you to get you this far.”

A small knock on the door had the mother look up, spying her daughter. Her face was unreadable but an ice pack was clutched tightly in her hands. Tanacita gave Caly one last hug before getting up to meet her. She simply patted her shoulder and left the two in the room hoping very much her daughter would do the right thing.

Rose entered quietly, giving Caly the ice pack before sitting at the foot of the bed.

Silence seemed to fill the room.

Caly was tempted to say that Rose had just felt sorry for her but she didn't, she simply accepted the hug with out a word. As the older woman exited and the younger girl entered she would accept the ice pack the same way. She applied it slowly to her ankle, expecting to be told off but finding only silence. For a moment she left it that way, not sure what to say. How could you explain what she was to another person? She didn't always understand it herself. Her mother told her she was special, doctors just said she didn't make sense, even magic didn't have any help because it said she was a girl too!

"I....I'll leave when i can.. i'm sorry.. " She simply repeated, gazing down at her hands. she frowned, biting her lip in thought as her blue hair fell around her and hid her face beneath it's soft curtain. She didn't know what to say, all she could do was think why couldn't they have met AFTER she found the right potion. For she would find the right potion, or she would die trying. There was no other option in her mind.

Rose was almost in a daze when she had gotten to the kitchen. Grabbing the ice pack, her mind split into quite a few different directions on what to do. She could be disgusted, she could have be angry, furious even. She could sympathize, she could even pretend not to have known. But with every scenario, they simply ended with her asking why? Why did she feel this way?

Rose felt she knew though it puzzled her. She was in fact more distraught over Caly not telling her what she was from the start than finding out what she was. For Rose, trust was a major part of her life; it didn’t come cheap and could cost someone greatly. Rose definitely wanted to be mad, but instead thought deeply about all this from Caly’s perspective.

Caly was quiet, shy and reserved. Obviously it came from this…predicament that she was in. More than likely she was ridiculed and probably turned away from by many friends once they learnt her secret. Maybe even her family hadn’t accepted it at first. It then dawned on her that maybe that’s why she was attacked in the alley. Maybe it wasn’t the first time.

Rose was now more than glad her mother had sent her away; if she had taken it out on Caly while she was still in shock…

So now, here they were in the guest room. It was very quiet until the blue-haired girl spoke. Rose could understand now why she had apologized, but despite being lied to, she wasn’t ready to toss her out. “Why? Not your fault those idiots did more damage than Dosom could notice.” Rose shrugged, speaking rather forcefully. “Though I swear if I see them again after you, I ain’t holding back like I did today,” she warned, eyes narrowing at the thought.

"it's not their fault... It's mine... for being... like this and expecting it not to make a difference. Not a girl or a boy...If i could make myself be a boy, if I wasn't so weak this wouldn't happen...Or if i could finish the potion and make my body match my insides..." She trailed off and gave up. She didn't know how to explain how she couldn't be a boy, how it wasn't like she just woke up one day and decided she was a girl. She didn't know how to say she'd loved the boy, well as much as a twelve year old can, and had thought if he really loved her it didn't matter.

"I understand... if you don't want to see me again... I can stay away at school...." She said quietly, biting her lip. It was clear from her tone she thought Rose felt she was disgusting. She hated this... She hated making people hate her for reasons she didn't understand at first. She hadn't really understood she wasn't a girl when she was young, being a girl was just so natural for her.... It probably didn't help that she'd always looked like a girl too even when she dressed in masculine clothing.

Potion? Oh...oh! So that was why she had been so sad about the whole potion thing? Maybe Caly had more problems than she could see... She did remember her professor speaking about how a soul could have genders; was this the case?

“What?” Rose gasped, “Stay away? Why would you do that?” She frowned, before realizing that maybe, Cayl thought she was mad at her.

Crap.

“Caly, I'm not angry at you,” she tried to explain, “I'm mad at how you were treated. I see nothing wrong with you.” Cautiously, Rose took her hand, and gave her a smile. “Yes, I was surprised to find out about...that, but I think I understand why.”

“I can't imagine how tough it's been for you, having to go through all this with little support.”
Rose looked straight into her eyes, so Caly would know she meant it. “But you have mine. I'm not going to abandon you.”

As she continued to speak Caly began to understand that something very different then usual had happened. She.. wanted her to stay? She slowly looked up, her hand unconsciously squeezing the other girls hand. She bit her lip, looking so timid and afraid.. and young. For a moment the girl who normally looked older then she was looked like a tiny child. She even sounded like one when she finally spoke. It was a simple, single word.

"Promise?" she whispered it before she realized it and just gazed at the other girl in thought. A friend... a real friend. She wasn't sure what to think, all she knew was it made her very happy. She'd always thought that maybe she was just really ... wrong. That maybe she was just crazy for always feeling she was a girl and that was why no one could seem to understand. Maybe though, just maybe, that was okay.

She looked so vunerable, so young. Rose wondered if she ever had any real friends before. She remembered always seeing a Ravenclaw like her, but with black hair, walking around with many girls; heck probably once or twice with a boy. Did they all reject her when they figured her out?

“I promise and I swear,” Rose assured her, pulling the girl into a tight hug, “So don’t think you can go around and avoid me at school either,” she scolded, though a smile was tugging at her face, “I’m good at finding people.” She teased, watching a little smile form on the blue-haired girl’s face. Rose wasn't sure, but she herself felt a lot better after meeting Caly. It was like she brought back a little bit of happiness in her own life, and Rose felt that she liked that feeling a lot.

((careful :P you shouldn't put what the other character does in your post in a way that traps them in an action >.>; though you've predicted right so far one of these times you could guess wrong))

Caly buried her face in the other girls shoulder, gripping her into a tight hug. She couldn't be happier and she truly believed the promise without effort. She hoped she could finish the potion soon! Then they would be dorm mates too! Of course there would probably be a little bit of ...resistance from girls who had once been her friends but she didn't care. Rose made her feel safe as she had never felt before. She wasn't sure why... was it because she could trust her? Was her friendship more real then the others had been?

"I.. I just hope that I finish the potion.... then we can be dormmates and I can be myself..." She said quietly as she wiped away her tears. She glanced at her ankle, she could just say she tripped which was relatively true but part of her wanted to stay the night. Still she knew better then to ask, she always seemed some kind of pervert to people though she never understood why. She had no interest in females... not that way!

((Oh crap! O.O; Sorry I'll be more careful about that sort of thing XD;;; ))

Rose liked the idea of being dormmates; quite frankly her usual dormmates had grown into loud, terribly painted gossipers. (of course by paint she did mean make up; it just always look like they put it on by the bucket full). This potion bit though had her interest peaked.

“I've never heard of a potion that could change your gender, but if you ever need any help with it, I could always lend a hand...if you need of course,” Rose rubbed the back of her neck. “I can't imagine it being being an easy potion to make,” Although she personally would never change her gender, the thought of creating such a potion intrigued her. Hey, she was a Ravenclaw after all!

((lol haha what a change! XD))

((it's alright dear ^.^, I was just letitng you know))

"...there isn't one. I'm having to create one from scratch. I know i'm close to a break through but so far all i've gotten is ones that make me look more feminine and change my hair color to my favorite color, without actually making me fully my true self. My notes are at home or i'd let you take a look..." She admitted quietly after some deep thought. She wasn't sure how good the other girl was at potions but the fact she was interested made her hope she might be. She had not found her equal in potions save for Professor Snape himself, but that didn't mean that someone else couldn't spot something she missed. Sometimes it took someone who thought more simply about the subject to see the obvious...

"I.. it's getting late... should I call my dad?" She asked then, her mention of home reminding her of the time. She almost asked to stay but she couldn't. She knew her dad would probably agree, but only because he didn't like her alone in that big old house anyway. He had been afraid lately and even he didn't know why... He felt like something bad was coming and he couldn't say what...

She was making her own potion from scratch?! Holy crap then Caly must be some kind of Potion Genius to be attempting such a feat! “Daaaamn, that's pretty amazing to hear,” Rose nodded, very impressed, “A little bit dangerous, but stil very very amazing to hear.”

Though upon her comment about the time, Rose did notice that it indeed was getting late. She wondered how far Caly lived; she knew they did have a floo connection, though it was a private one, and Rose didn't feel too comfortable on letting Caly walk home alone. Not that she could do much walking with that ankle, but still.

“Do you think your dad would mind if you stay the night?” She asked, a little worried, “I don't mind you staying and I'm sure my parents won't either...or I could walk you home if he wants you back too.” she suggested as an afterthought. Rose guessed it really depended on what Caly's father says, though she hoped he wouldn't make her leave at this time of day; even her dad didn't stay so late at work anymore...

"I.. I'm careful enough it's okay...but please keep it a secret from my dad anyway..." Caly muttered, running a hand through her hair. Still any thought of her father's worry or the potion fled from her mind the second the second question was asked. She was... inviting her to stay? She didn't think she was some weird pervert or something? She was stunned, it was alot to accept in one night but Rose and her Mother seemed to be accepting it just fine. She flushed, giving the other girl a soft warm smile. She reached forward, squeezing the other girls hand.

"Thank you I'd love that" She responded honestly, glancing at her bag. She quickly looked through it and found the compact again. It would take almost twenty minutes to convince her father, and she had to admit to twisting her ankle at that. Still, he was stuck at work anyway and when he checked out the names of Rose and her parents he finally relented. The information that he could gather about them with a little help from one of his office friends all suggested they were trustworthy enough...

"worry wort, um... you wouldn't happen to have an ace wrap or something would you?" she muttered as she put away the compact before asking the question. She began to braid her hair as she usually did before bed as she turned her attention back to Rose. Honestly her ankle was already feeling a little better so with the support of an ace wrap she could probably make it around okay... not perfectly but okay.

A secret? Well, it goes without saying that Rose would definitely keep quiet; though she was, in a way, glad she had mentioned it. She knew she’d never tell anyone, but she hadn’t known that Caly’s father didn’t know. Though Rose couldn’t help but smile back at her new friend who was clearly surprised by her offer.

It did take a while to convince her dad however. Rose tried very hard to not make a sound or listen in when they conversed (He did background checks? Oh man why did that sound like her uncle…?).

“'Ace wrap'? Oh! Yeah I think I have one in the other room,” Rose got up, heading to the door, “I’ll be back soon with it,” she smiled, opening the door to head out. “You just check that ankle; I’m sure most of the swelling has gone down.”

"It has..." She responded with a smile, finally beginning to cheer up and feel comfortable. She was going to stay the night at a friends house for the first time! She couldn't be happier... She sat the ice pack on the table a moment and decided to wait quietly for the girl to go get the ace wrap and return. It wouldn't be the first time she had worn one... It was easier to hide any fights from her father sometimes that way. She wondered what one did at a sleepover...

It didn’t take long for Rose to find the ace wrap, and so she made her way back to the guest room. She was very glad that Caly’s father allowed her to stay, but Rose wasn’t sure what to do now. Could this count as a sleepover? She had never done that before…unless one counted sleeping over at your cousins’, but that didn’t seem right. Rose decided to see what Caly would want to do; she was the guest in the house after all.

“Found it!” Rose smiled, walking back to the head, ace wrap in tow. Giving it to the other girl, Rose sat back down at the end of the bed again. “Sooo…what would you like to do?” she asked. Maybe she’d like to try on that dress this time? Hmm…actually, she wondered where her mother was presently; usually she’d catch her "checking in" on her (which simply meant she was spying, but only because she cared…or something. Rose still felt it was spying).

"thanks!" was the bashful girl's response as she handed it to her. She quickly wrapped her ankle, an efficient healer. She wondered briefly if they had some potion ingredients... oh well she didn't really like workign anywhere but her personal lab anyway. Everything was just the way she liked it! Then again she was always neat as a pin and everything had to be just so. She hated messes, though sometimes she got busy enough in putting her potions together that she forgot about her desk... though never for very long.

"um... I'm not sure... t...this is my first sleep over..." Caly responded to the second question nervously. She felt a little embarrassed for having admitted it. She would never stay at someone's house who didn't know her secret and once a person found her secret they or their parents always objected. Sure she'd had friends who didn't get mad but they always drifted away because deep in their hearts they thought it was weird... still she didn't think Rose was like that so didn't worry.

“Is it? Well then, I guess that makes the two of us,” Rose rubbed the back of her neck, a small smile on he face, “I’ve never been to a sleepover before, so I don’t really know what to do myself…” Well, what should they do? Most likely her mother went back to her designs, and her father did not come home until later…

“You want to explore the house for a bit? Or go into the garden?” she suggested.

"Hmm I'd love ot see the garden, I love plants..." She responded after a moments thought. Caly had her own garden back home but it was mainly for potions. A garden that was just to look pretty sounded rather nice. She hadn't really visited one... her parents didn't really have a knack for gardening. She was the only green thumb in her house. The only one who even really could ever help her was the maid who often doubled as a nanny when she was younger. She then realized what the rest of her statement meant... rose had chosen her for her first sleep over friend?

"I...I'm really g-glad i met you...." She whispered with a blush and looked down at her hands. She really was glad.. even though she worried about the boys that had once been two of her friends and the third something so much more. She knew they might push it... but she didn't want them hurt. She knew she'd broken the lead boys heart even if part of her felt betrayed that he didn't accept her completely...

“Haha same! Me and my dad are practically the only green thumbs in this family,” she grinned, getting up form the bed. When they had first moved in her father had immediately went to the garden (once all the moving was done of course). The two of them had great fun deciding what to plant it and where. Sometimes her mother would help, but they ended up not getting much done.

Rose looked back, surprised by Caly’s blush. She smiled wider in return, taking one of her hands into her own. “I’m glad I met you too.” She said honestly, “Now let’s go see the garden!”

Caly held her hand tightly as she took it and gave her a warmer smile. She felt awkward, as she was not very good socially but the feeling was fading rapidly. Rose was so easy going, so easy to be with. She couldn't help but sit up and move towards the edge, not caring about her ankle or anything else really. It was only as she started to step off the bed it occurred to her it was night time... maybe they had lights in the garden?

"Is it safe at night? I mean.. with my ankle already making it easier to fall..." She asked quietly, tilting her head to the side. There was always the morning so she was sure she'd see it eventually. She had no doubt, however, there was a lot of time for many things. This would be a long and happy friendship she was sure. She was a trusting soul anyway but Rose was just.. special somehow.
