Puppies. 8D
If you get a husky you had better be warned! they are super high energy and very destructive if they aren't kept active and busy. Your furniture will feel the brunt of it. XD (And your back yard if they're just left out there a lot)
----------
So lots and lots of walking and training and something to stimulate them is needed. @ [email protected]

Yeah, I know how they are. I have a couple friends with them.
Thankfully my bf and I both want one, and between the two of us it'll be very active.
I just don't see a high chance of finding a husky, without having to pay a lot of money. x.x

Aww huskies are cute dogs! I'd love to have one of those, but alas, I am not a dog person. They require too much attention and care for me. We had a German Shepherd, but had to give it away because it was destroying the backyard and we couldn't give him the proper care he needed. So just our little dogs are left. xD

I'm not a fan of German Shepherds. I don't know what it is about them, but they kinda freak me out and I just don't like them. >.<

They're my favorite dogs. Next to Wolfhounds.
My family feels about the same as you do about them though.
Dobermans are the dogs that freak me out. Even mini ones. Our friend has one and she still makes me nervous when she gets near my face and stuff. She even jumped up and bit my thigh. > A>

Huskies and husky mixes have a high chance of being put in shelters because people cannot cope with their high energy. they just end up thinking they got a terrible/defective dog instead of realizing its their fault. :(
Jack Russels have the same issue.
----------
Wolfhounds! I love those too. :) MOOSEDOG

As far as dobermans go, they're super sweet! It sucks that people put a stereotype on them that makes others afraid to be around them. Sad part is, when they sense people being nervous they get nervous too and might bite or get barky if someone is acting really nervous and strange. x:
Also I hate small dogs...Almost every single one i meet is yappy and bitey. They are usually soooooo spoiled and people don't train them! They just go "aww hes so tiny its cute!" and thats it, no discipline. :(

Dobermans don't really freak me out, cause I've never been near one in person. Pitbulls do freak me out though, I've had awful experiences with those too.
Rika: Yeah one of my supervisors has two, he said he was lucky and found one at a shelter. His are both very sweet dogs though. :3

Yeah my BFF found her husky mix at a shelter, shes had a hell of a time retraining her! Shes about a year old and is super destructive with furniture...but shes starting to improve a lot. She gets lots of walks and outside playtime and has her own specific chewtoys.
Sadly her mom almost made her put her back in the pound! (Shes still living with her mother while shes in uni/college). Luckily she managed to convince her mom to give her more time to try and fix the mistakes the old owners made with her and get her some good training. Doing better! :D
I've never had a husky myself but I've always thought they were super pretty and my boyfriend wants one so I figure I may as well learn what I can before we get one. I just really hope we can at least get one of the breeds we want. Either a husky or a mal. I'm good with either! (I'd def prefer a big ol mal though)
Only thing I don't look foreward to is all that hair! So much brushing to be done. XD
RE Pitbulls: Sweetest dogs ever omg, a second choice for dog for me would be a boxer or a pitbull. I don't know much about either breed but they're always such love bugs. <33 (Of course unless its one owned by a dick). I do like Irish Wolfhounds, but I think in the end that would just be too much dog for me.

For me it's just the way Dobermans look. They just look mean to me. XDD I don't freak out or anything around them, but I don't get as comfortable quickly. After that mini-pin bit my thigh though, I kind of stomped in her direction so she would leave me alone.
Pitbulls I don't mind, but I don't prefer them. They're too muscly of a dog for me.
We have a Chihuahua (which I never thought I would get given that I like German Shepherds and Wolfhounds.. XDD) and a Yorkie. They're pretty well behaved. The Chihuahua isn't yappy or too whiny (she does whine a bit if you pet her and then ignore her, but she gets over it pretty quickly). The Yorkie stays outside and barks at everyone/everything that passes by. xP
But he's pretty good too. Generally comes when called and can sit. We make sure he doesn't jump up on people though or on furniture when he's inside. Every time he hops up just a little we go "no, down" and he gets the idea. I think usually he's just excited and wants to be near people.

I'm sorry, but I just don't trust pitbulls.
I know, I know...it's the owner, not the dog.
But some dogs are bred for meanness, and that is being bred into pit bulls.
There have been too many cases where they just "snap" and maul their own kid!
It's just that their jaws are so strong. If they attack, you have not got a chance.
I know that any dog can bite, but some breeds tend to be calmer and gentler, especially with kids.

My heart is just really set on the husky, I'm glad my bf wants one just as bad as me.
I don't really want a mix though, and neither does he, and we both hope to find a puppy.
But yeah, I've had two different neighbors with pitbulls. One was kind of a jerk, but I don't with he was that bad because he owned a lab too, and he was such a sweetheart. The pitbull attacked him one day and he was in the hospital awhile.
The other guy was always really nice and loved pitbulls, sometimes it would get out and would go nuts in the neighborhood. That dog got put down...I think it ended up biting three different people.
So now I just don't like them. x.x

Welcome back. c:
Yeah, I'm of the belief that trainers/owners are to blame for a dog's aggression, but I do also believe that general personality traits and temperament are breed specific. From what I've been told about pit bulls, they generally love people, but not other dogs (obviously that could be wrong). I definitely don't think all pit bulls are aggressive, but I do think they, as a breed, are more prone to being aggressive or possessive. I do hope that that aggression can be kind of.. bred out of them though and that the stigma towards them goes away eventually.
As I stated though, I don't care for them simply because they're muscly. :XD
I like furry dogs. :ninja:

Haha yeah. And I don't think it's bad, it's just what it is. -shrug- I don't get offended when people say Chihuahuas are yappy because they are! But staring at my own Chihuahua, I know they have the ability to not be. Gosh, she was so whiny/yappy when we first got her.
@Lav: Wish I could help, but.. yeah... got mine when it came out also. ^^;

My heart has been persauded before though. I used to not like little dogs, but then my ex had two and I feel in love with them, despite their yippieness.
They were just so cute. ._.
