Nice! I can read music (slowly) but then taking that and putting it on my keyboard takes me even longer. So I usually go over the music saying the notes out loud multiple times. I also can't work my right and left hand together so I always want to work them separately but I know I am not supposed to do that....

Piano isn't too hard. I was self taught. I find that piano is much more simple than other instruments.
I personally just played with notes and combinations to see what sounded good to me. Through that I ended up accidentally writing a song XD

Also, as for a tip for playing both hands. I had this problem a LOT. What I found helps is to at first play the song one turn at a time, learning the song's pattern of what both hands do together.

Like say:

||-||--| for one hand and |-|| for the other and then move to the next note which may or may not include both hands. (Held notes sorta screw me over here)

Okay I'll give that a try, I have no problem if a note needs to be held with one hand and the other is playing

Well my biggest problem is that I'm slower than molasses when I read music, so I basically memorize every single note.

I just go over it a few times before hand and after a little bit I get to know where things are at and other times I have to stop and see where and what the note is. Though what has helped me is that I have had choir for 12 years so I can listen to where the song is going and sometimes I know what the next few notes might be, or if I made a mistake I know where it is. I'm sad now though I graduated so I don't have choir anymore not even in college

SOOOO not focused on these papers!
I have to write a 6-page essay on the concept of power in idealist vs. materialist, and modernist vs. post-modernist anthropology.
Then, a 10-page research paper on educational difficulties faced by Chinese transfer students to American universities.
They are both due Monday, and so far I only have outlines for each. Worked today, working tomorrow.
NEVER GONNA FINISH!!!!

Just got back from the Hobbit and I must say it was probably the most spectacular film I have seen all year! It lived up to my fandom expectations and I cannot wait to the next film. I won't give away any spoilers as the movie is every bit of the 9.50$ I paid to go see it!
They were selling Hi frame rate and 3D tickets for 17.50$ and I was like--um I don't think so lol. Always doing some gimmik to make more money it seems. I'm pretty sure the movie has grossed a ton all around the world. I wonder how far into the production they are with the second film?

I say, if you are a fan of the Lord of the Rings, you should most definitely go see it as I personally give it a ten out of ten score for the rating and quality of the movie and let's not forget all of the awesome songs which I must get a soundtrack too when they are available.

@Roxy - I hope you are able to finish your paper, I know how tough they can be when you are under pressure, I sure don't miss that aspect about college for sure!

I can't wait to see the Hobbit :D
I have heard mixed reviews.
I have never read it, but I am pretty sure Faramir isn't in it (?) He's my lover, ya know ;P

It was good and unfortunately Faramir is not in it. He wasn't even born yet when these events took place as the Hobbit is set sixty years before the Fellowship of the Ring. Faramir is an attractive man though ;)

Did they follow the book? o.o That's my concern, they made some major chances to the other 3 I wasn't too pleased with.

Well they followed the main idea of the book and there were added scenes, you don't get the whole book in the first movie I imagine the third one will be something about the unfinished tales or something to do with the Similarion?

It did move some things around, but other than that I enjoyed it. I think it's better than the other three movies in my opinion. I say ultimately you will have to see it but I agree with your statement about the other movies-- they just left too much out...I still like them though... oh well... that's the movies for you they can never beat the material the book can give and that goes for all book movies.

Oooh... don't think I've heard that term before... though I guess given your occupation you probably hear a very different vocabulary than I do XD

I don't have much of an imagination in that category. I tend to just do whatever my partner wants

Yeah that kind of job doesn't do well on a resume...

Same with the video I watched once of how birth control was made... not a job you can but on a resume XD
Nor a job to tell the kids about...
