I don't know exactly. I tend to heat water in the kettle anyway.

Just don't heat any watery liquid in microwave.
thick sauce is fine, but not watery ones.

Sometimes I find it just as easy to heat things on the hob. Just more washing up with pans. XD

After a while, you still need to wash the microwave... XD
But yeah, I dislike washing too.

They just complain about anything if it doesn't make their kid the star.

We had a talent show on Friday and me and the other teacher in charge of it ended up having to cut everyone's act down to 2 minutes because there were too many kids in the show (it would have been 3 hours if we hadn't cut the acts) and parents email me, freaking out, because they want their kid to have a full five minutes.

Then I'm co-teaching a musical elective to the middle schoolers at my school (I teach Prek through 8th grade) and I'm teaching it with the two 6th grade teachers....and we put up the cast list for the musical the other day and I just got an email from a parent of an 8th grade girl saying I was punishing her by not giving her the lead because she was in 8th grade and the girls we gave the lead to were in 7th. Saying it's always been 8th grade first.

What parents don't understand is that traditions change when you get a new music teacher and I don't believe in rewarding a kid for bad behavior when they've done nothing by goof off in my classroom and not care about what we are doing.

Also they blame ME when the decision was made by THREE teachers. >.<

It's a shame that parents aren't setting a good example for their children by enabling them if they want to be centre of attention all of the time. Of course you'd be punishing their little darling because you're just a big meanie.

+ This is my kettle. Old one was white and even cheaper.

No kidding. It just doesn't set them up for the real world. They can't expected to be handed everything because they have lived the longest....if they are rude and disrespectful, why should I reward that behavior?

They have a teacher there for 25 years who did the same thing every year and they are so used to it that they freak out if I change anything.

I'm looking for a job at a new school for next year because the parents and admins here are just crazy.

They pay me for 32 hours a week and I technically only work 4 days a week. Usually I'm there 5 days a week anyway and there on weekends to get stuff done and made for these kids for the show. I work so hard and I end up working 80 hours a week only to get bitched at by parents....it makes me just want to not care....

All change is bad! Never change anything! Same things forever!

Sorry your hard work is not being appreciated. Hopefully you will find somewhere it is.

Thank you <33

If the admins and parents appreciated my work, I really wouldn't mind. But the fact that I work so hard and get yelled at...and then they see how much work I put into it and how happy the kids are and they don't say anything GOOD...that's hard. I get emails from parents yelling at me. I NEVER get emails from parents congratulating me for a good job on the show or telling me they are happy their kid did so well in a show...or how about how much they are actually learning. That hurts D:

I seriously want to go to a school that's JUST an elementary school....I would like that a whole lot more!

(And I don't just get yelled at by parents. I get IGNORED by the administration until we have a faculty meeting or some other meeting. And the principal is always yelling at the staff for something or other then encouraging us to come to her if we have problems. And when I come to her with a problem she yells at me!)

It's okay - it just sucks to get bitched at. I hope when I become a parent that I'm not the type that emails my kid's teachers and bitches about everything XD
