Sukiru whimpered a bit and backed up at bit shaking her head a little. "No, none of the dragons here would hurt you.... if Mage brought you here then they trust her which means they trust you." she said softly and hoped that he believed her.

Jake watched the little dragon and with on last growl he sighed. "If your wrong, I will have to do one thing I would now regret. He spoke before moving into the next room to sit down on a chair with another sigh while running a hand over his scales. "Do I truely want to be cured?... Do I wish to be my old self?"

Sukiru whimpered a bit and moved even farther away from Jake not wanting him to hurt her or her master. Though when he left she looked at Mage and sighed some. "Please get better soon master." she whispered before curling up next to Mage and was soon fast asleep though keeping her wits about her so she would know if something was wrong.

Jake sat at the table with his eyes wide open due to the fact dragons could go for a long time with out sleep if they wanted. He sat looking at the wood trying to think of what he should really do, it wasn't safe, or at least it wouldn't be as soon as he left the house, but he also couldn't believe the information had to be told to him by the mage's pet when she should have told him. So instead of sleeping, he spent the whole night thinking.

When morning finally came Mage moved and groaned a bit feeling tired and weak as she awoke. She glanced around and was a bit surprised when she saw where she was and confused at the same time. She then tried to move a bit and whimpered some when her body wouldn't respond thanks to how weak it was and she was really starting to worry about that and what might be wrong. At the moment she didn't know that Jake was even in the house... she couldn't sense him... she couldn't feel her powers at all right now to be honest.

When morning finally came, Jake was still wide awake, he had been so ever since he changed now, he was beginning to doubt if he would ever need sleep, but due to his halfblood, he would need sooner then a full dragon. Once the mage began to stir, Jake's radar like ears picked it up, but he remained seated, staring at the table as he had been all night, he knew her dragon could explain the situation and he wouldn't have too. "Why am I even here?... I should leave it too the dragon... They are smarter then she makes out to be." He thought to himself.

Jake was right in one since... Mage's dragon was explaining what had happened though could tell that Mage was in pain and she didn't know how to help... she had never had to take care of Mage before so it worried her a bit to think about it now. After a few Sukiru slowly came out of Mage's room and looked around before sitting on the table in front of Jake and looked down a bit. "I don't know how to take care of her... I've never had to before... I can't do anything for her really.... I can't cook and I'm not big enough to help her get up... and I don't know how to help with her pain... Jake... can you please help?" she asked softly and quietly to Jake as she looked at him and was worried since she really didn't know how to take care of Mage... she had never had to before and it was something that was too hard for something her size.

Jake was thinking about the past, he looked down to Mage's dragon and looked at the small creature. "I understand... and I also understand that..." He stopped as he looked back at the memories of his mother, he was thinking about what she would do and he knew that she would have wanted him to help. "... I must stay... To make my mother proud of me." He said, though it was clear everytime he thought of his mother it hurt, the reason being was that he had a tear in his eye as he clenched his fist and remembered the song his mother used to always sing to him.7

"do you know how to cook?" Sukiru asked softly then saw the distant look in Jake's eyes and the tears in his eyes. "Jake? are you okay?" she asked softly and genuenly worried as she looked at Jake and could tell that he was upset about something though didn't know what.

Jake heard the small dragon and he sighed wiping the tears away. "I'm fine... Just a bad memory... That is all." He said looking around for the cooking tools. "I know a tiny bit of cooking, but I guess it is better then no skill whatso ever." He replied with a fake chuckle, trying to fool the dragon.

"Do you need any help?" Sukiru asked softly noting the fake laugh though didn't ask... if he didn't want to tell her what was wrong then she wouldn't push him... now Mage... Mage was a different story... if Mage thought he was lying to her she would demand to know the truth.

Jake nodded at the question with a small sigh. "All my life I have trained to be a killer... I never learnt how to cook or any other useful things..." He smiled a little as he looked at the small dragon. "could you... help me learn?" He asked as he saw the wings on the little dragon's back and he chuckled a little nervously. "And could you also teach me how to... Well... Fly?"

"Um... well... I don't really know much... I've watched Mage a bit before but I, myself, have never really cooked before." Sukiru said looking a bit sheepish at that before thinking a bit at Jake's question though it had surprised her some. "Sure... I could help you sometime and teach you how to fly... though... again you may want to talk to Mage about that when she's feeling better.... I don't know if it's the same or not for halflings... I don't have a human form so I wouldn't know." she said softly then looked back at Mage's room hearing her move a bit though not waking up it seemed.

Jake sighed a little as he looked down a bit. "We will have to live off cooked meat... That is all I know what to cook." He said before tilting his head a little. "Oh yeah... Halfling..." He sighed as he took one of his wings into his hand and pulled it front of his with a small sigh. "Are these things even real? They just look fake." He said running a hand over the spine of his wing which caused a shudder to run down his spine. "I guess they are... Anyway... food... Any ideas?"

"Sorry... I didn't mean to offend you if I did.... and I can tell your wings are real... they may look fake to you but they look real to me... Though I've seen what Mage's wings look like before and I don't think you have..." Sukiru said softly then thought some and flew over to the fridge that was in another room and tugged at the door until it opened. "Yeah we have some meat in here..." she said softly as she looked at Jake and was actually a bit happy for the fact that she had remembered that they did have meat in the fridge.

Jake heard the small dragon and he chuckled as she shook his head. "No no, you never offended me." He said with a small sigh. "They just seem so dead." But as he said this, his wings opened out behind him without him knowing like they had done before. "Where are you going?" He asked as he ran to follow her to the fridge, once he got a glimps of the meat, he grinned a bit while licking his lips as his wings opened up fully as if he was getting ready to pounce. "That looks like quality meat... What animal is it?"

"You say that and yet they keep spreading out wide." Sukiru said softly with almost a grin in her voice as she then looked at the meat. "It's either beef or steak I think... could be dear meat or cow I'm not sure really... some of it I know is dear meat... that actually sounds pretty good right now... I know Mage really likes dear steak as well." she said softly pointing to the meat that she thought was dear steak and it was a pretty good amount of it too... considering the fact you don't get much good meat off of dears that is.

Jake heard her comment and tilted her head before looking over his shoulder with a small growl. "What on earth?... Why are they doing that? Is it some sort of dragon thing?" He asked before hearing deer and steak, he whipped her head back to the meat and licked his lips again. "I am glad I can eat it raw or cooked, I sort of like raw meat." He said with a chuckle as he took out three chunks of steak. "One for you, one for me and one for Mage... Somehow... She is awake isn't she?" He asked looking at the room Mage was in.

"They might just be stretching... if you have your wings settled for a long period of time they will stretch and move on their own... or move according to your emotions and what's going on of course." Sukiru said then almost seemed to smirk when she heard Jake. "Well I know that Mage will want hers at least somewhat cooked... though she likes hers rare... because it has been in the fridge though i would suggest you at least heating it up before you start to eat it... as for me I like mine like Mage likes hers." she said softly then looked to Mage's room listening a bit unsure. "She might be waking up but it's hard to tell sometimes with her... with how much energy was drained from her it'll be a few days, if that, before she's back to her old self." she said softly and wished that Mage would get better soon since the last time they had encountered Thief... well... Mage almost didn't make it.

Jake thought about it as he glared at his wings. "They better not do it often... I would hate to have them getting in the way." He said as he put the three steaks down, he grinned a little as he took a deep breath and then stopped knowing if he failed, he would just end up breathing on it. "Errrr... Maybe you should do the fire breathing thing..." He mumbled feeling like a fool due to the fact he knew nothing about his dragon side. "Two days?... Whoa... Why did she do it?" He asked looking down at the steaks. "I mean.... I tried to kill her... why would she save me when she could have saved herself."

"You do know this is a modern house right? We have a stove ya know." Sukiru almost seemed to grin as she flew over to the stove and put it on pre-heat. She then looked at Jake as she listened to him and thought some. "Well... Mage is very kind hearted... when we were going into the building she had told me that she was going to distract Thief and she wanted me to try and strike him down... She knew that you would need at least a little help though she was just scared that she would die or that I would die... though when she heard you scream she had to come and save you... it's just how she is... no one wants to believe that she actually is a kind hearted person but she really is..." she said softly as she looked at Jake and hoped that he would understand and realize that Mage really was a good person and not evil like others had often thought her to be.

Jake looked at the stove and pouted a little. "You know, this is just a cheating way to cook and I prefer to cook the old way." He said looking to the stove with a little hiss, He then looked at the little dragon and listened to her talking, he shook his head and let out a small chuckle. "That reminds me of my mother... That is why I must leave after she is better... I miss her..." He said looking down with a small sigh. "... All my time I have been hunting her killer... Now I have gotten her revenge... She can finally rest avenged." He said with a small smile.

"Oh... if you want to cook the old fasioned way we have a fire pit out back and a smoker that we often use to cook..." Sukiru said softly as she turned off the stove.
She then listened to Jake and got a sad look about her. "I'm so sorry for your loss... but if you just leave behind everything and everyone that remind you of your mother... won't you just become more lonely and sad? Why not let others close to you? I mean... I don't remember my mother... I think she died before I hatched and I've never found anyone from my family. Every time we come across more new dragons I ask but none of them know me or, in some cases, have never seen a dragon like me." She said softly with a sigh thinking a bit as she spoke.

"Mage is actually kind of like you and I in that way... though more like you. She knew both of her parents... though... her mother was murdered by hunters... actually... one in the group was her father who was killed there as well. She was the only one in her family who lived, that's why she hides out here. She's never really wanted anyone around her, especially hunters, after that... I'm surprised that she let you even close to her really...." the small dragon explained and kinda hoped that Jake would reconsider leaving. She didn't like Mage being all alone with no one ever trying to reach out to her... and it seemed that her and Jake could maybe help each other if they just spent some actual time together... maybe they could both try to sooth each others pasts and help themselves heal a bit... at least that's what Sukiru was hoping for.
