I like spinach & artichoke dip. I really should find a recipe for it. I usually just eat it at the Renaissance Festival.

Chopped up spinach is good in bread. My husband & I made a cheese & spinach bread one time to take to a family gathering. All you need for it was a little butter. Of course his family was scared to eat it, they are not very adventurous when it comes to food. That just meant we got to bring more of it home to eat later. :D
No real recipe for it, just a bread mix, grated cheese & some chopped spinach. We cooked ours in a roasting pan.

Ooh~ I don't think I've ever tried spinach and artichoke dip. Not sure if I've tried artichoke at all. :XD

When I get spinach & artichoke it comes in a bread bowl. It is very tasty. I have never actually tried to cook an artichoke. They sort of intimidate me.

I think this recipe sounds wonderful.

Seems easy enough. :D Hope you're able to try it.

I wouldn't mind trying to cook an artichoke. P: Need a good recipe though.

I think when I tried eggplant when I was younger, I didn't care for it. But I'm up to try again.

The spinach and feta quesadillas I made last night were yummy. :D Just going to make sure I have more of the filling and make sure the herbs are spread out evenly. There were pockets of dill in them last night. Lmao. XDD

I don't really like feta.

I have tried eggplant, but I didn't like it. At first I thought it was just the way my cousin made it, so I tried it again. The taste isn't great. I think it is mostly the texture of it that I don't like. I don't eat pears because of the texture of them, but I love the smell.

I think pears & grapefruit are the only 2 fruits that I don't like.
I like most foods, some don't like me though. :(

Blueberries have become one of my favorites, possible because they are so easy to grow.
I can't wait to get my new blueberry bushes. Currently I have 4 varieties & we had so many blueberries last year we had to give some away. It works out well with one of my neighbors he gives us watermelons & we give him blueberries.
I wanted to order some strawberry plants, but I don't think I would have time to really take care of them. I'm still a little annoyed because the stray cats dug up all my new strawberry plants last year. We didn't get a single strawberry from 50 plants.
I hope this year we can get some of our plums before a storm knocks all the fruit off. If you ever plant plums make sure you don't have anything else close to them. I planted 5 of them about 7 or 8 years ago & we now have about 40 trees. We need to thin them out soon. Hopefully I can find someone to take a few of them.

Do any of you grow your own fruits or vegetables?

Ooh grapefruits are tricky. Darn icky skin on the slices! :illgetu:
Ooh, are you allergic to any?

Oh, wow, awesome! :eager:
Lmao, what happened to the plums? Did they just overtake the other plants?

Nope! It's too much of a hassle right now, especially since we don't plan on staying here. It would be nice though. I bought some lavender seeds and some other herb seeds that I haven't planted yet. I would love to grow my own produce though. One day~

The plums are trying to take over my front yard. I didn't know they would spread so much or so quick.
I'm not allergic to any fruits, but I am allergic to nuts.
I just never have liked the taste of grapefruit.

I think my allergy is weird. I am more allergic to the shells of nuts than to the nuts. I can deal with small amount of peanut butter, such as 1 Reese's cup won't make me ill, 2 or 3 then I will have problems. I do have problems with some tree nuts as well, but I'm not sure which ones so I try to avoid all of them.
I didn't know about the shells giving me problems until one day at work I was unpacking a product & apparently whoever had packed it was eating peanuts the entire time they packed it. As I unpacked I started itching & the more I did the worse it got, it wasn't until I got to the bottom of the box that I found a few shells. It broke me out in hives & I scratched my arms raw.

I like all the other citrus fruits but grapefruit. I love oranges best. I just got me some today. Figure it might help build my system back up some.

Ooh, that is a bit odd, huh? :O Yeah, I'd avoid them all too!
Oh my gosh! Glad you're okay though. I remember one guy I knew in high school was allergic to peanuts. He sat next to me in one class and one day I was eating a Snickers bar and he sniffed the air and looked at me and was like "Who's eating peanuts?" Sensitive nose!

Yum oranges! That's a good idea.
I'm planning on getting some oranges to make candied orange peels.

And today I made asparagus fritters~

Asparagus fritters? Sounds interesting. Care to share the recipe?

Today I want to just snack. So I went to the grocery store & bought apples, grapes, oranges, carrots, crackers & stuff to make a cheese ball. Mostly been eating the fruit so far. I love grapes & the Fuji apples are really good.

I have never made candied orange peels. Need to get a recipe for it since I just bought a few pounds of navel oranges.

Here's the recipe: Closet Cooking: Asparagus and Feta Fritters
It uses egg, but a replacement for that should be easy.

Lots of healthy snacking there, Damia! :D Makes me want some. Haha.

Whoa, I wish I had feta, I'd totally make that for dinner tonight. Sounds way better than the quasi-spaghetti I'm going to make. I wonder if I could use mozzarella instead...

EDIT: Ah shit, we don't even have mozzarella! :( Guess it's time to go grocery shopping. Totally saving that recipe though, it sounds delicious.

Haha. The feta's in there for flavor; so mozzarella probably wouldn't do it justice. :XD

That recipe was a good way for me to use the rest of my asparagus! And some more feta. Had plenty left over from the spinach and feta quesadillas. :ninja:

This just looks so interesting. I would probably try a different bean than the black. I wonder how kidney beans would be in it.
