EirianHikari: For some reason I get an error message when I try to look at the cookies.
I really need to post some pictures of the cupcakes I made for a friends birthday, but I just haven't had time or patience to get them off my cell phone. My cell phone is old & a pain, but at least it still works. I had got one to replace it with, but it died. :(
The cupcakes were my versions of some of the cupcakes from a book.
I made roses out of starburst candy, they look beautiful, but melt quick if it is warm.
I truly enjoyed making the cupcakes, but is was a lot of work & time for about 100 cupcakes.

Just take a couple of starburst & get them a little warm. I mixed a few of the different flavors/colors together so that it was sort of swirled, but not overly done where it became one color. Then put them between some sheets of wax paper & roll it out with a rolling pin until it was thin enough to shape, but not so thin that it fell apart. Then I cut it into a strip & then start by rolling one end & then pinch & roll until you are happy with the size of the flower. I used the cut side of the strip as the bottom of the rose because I think the rougher jagged edge looked better for the top of the flower petals.
A cupcake book I was looking at talked about using fruit slice candy for the roses. That worked pretty well, but you have to use so much sugar when you are rolling those out to keep them from sticking to everything.
The starburst were much easier to work with & made such pretty & colorful roses.
If you have ever made roses from rolled fondant it pretty much works the same way.
Thanks Eirian I can see it this time.

That sounds like fun... but none of the starbursts would ever be finished... I'd eat them all

Interesting...I don't like bitter flavours myself, I'd prefer a bit of sour...but sweet and savoury foods tend to be ones I like best, provided the other flavours and textures are good too.

I need to post some pictures of the cupcakes.
I problem is our virus protection program suddenly deleted our photo editing software & since the pictures of the cupcakes were taken with my cell phone they don't look very good.

It really ticked me off that it deleted the program. We have had it for about 10 years & I really liked that program. The disk we had got broke a couple of years ago. I tried Photoshop, but I don't like it.
Gonna have to see if we can find an updated version from the company it was from.

Damia doesn't get to eat it because of a peanut allergy.
Its one candy she never has tried to make.

Makes about 4 dozen according to the jar, we usually only get 2 to 3 dozen.

If you are allergic to peanuts you should try sun butter. It's made with sunflower seeds.
