Teagan nodded her head slowly, once all was explained. "You really are a tight knit group." She said with a bit of a grin. She had never had friends that close, so she really didn't say much else. Her talking about friendship was like asking a squirrel to give a lecture on quantum physics. Pointless. She grew quiet after that, just watching others interact. Most of her focus was on Haruhi, but she made sure she wasn't being a creep about it. More than anything, Teagan wanted to get to know Haruhi better. Regardless, at some point she sort of tuned out and went about preparing sweets she'd made for today's costumers. After all, she wasn't a host, so she didn't figure their plans were really her business, except with what they wanted to eat.

Haruhi glanced back at Teagan, then at Kyoya. Teagan was out of earshot, so Haruhi decided to bring something up. "We have a problem here. She doesn't know about me... And I think she..." The twins snickered. She looked at them flatly. "Not funny. Not funny at all. Is it okay for me to tell her?"

Kyoya would say noting to supplement Teagan's words but nod once, slightly, and slowly. It was a subtle gesture, one that couldn't be taken as any real answer to her words, but enough do that it could be assumed that he agreed in some manner. Of course he agreed--it was true, even if they were a bit of a motley crew. As she went off to work on preparing the sweets and the others readied themselves for customers as they saw fit, Kyoya would return to work. It were not as if his time to work ever last for very long.

Haruhi's question was an inevitable one, but nevertheless, a sly grin crossed his face at its mention. It was an obvious problem- not that he viewed it was a problem, but more of a fact in a sense- and he hadn't doubted that it would be Haurhi herself that would act to step up and correct this. He had been right-- what could he say? "If you see fit," he replied slowly, glancing up at her before returning to his clipboard. Naturally this may spark a few problems internally, or perhaps just some more humor for them all, but he was wary of the circumstances.

Unfortunately, Haruhi didn't seem to get the chance that day, as Teagan kept herself constantly busy. She was quite serious about paying them back for keeping her hidden away. So she was hard at work cleaning when it was called for, and researching recipes when she could. Or she would be bringing trays of sweets out to the tables. When the customers came, she made sure to keep a constant flow of desserts and sweets at the ready, so that she would maintain usefulness.

Come afternoon, when all was said and done, she was cleaning once again. She wondered if Kyoya would be there to talk with her as he had been before. She certainly hoped so because she wanted to see if any particular desserts were well received and which she should make more of. It seemed like Kyoya would be the one to notice things like that.

Again Kyoya would drift about the room as usual, greeting their customers as they walked in and tending to otherwise business matters in the mean time. Teagan's work caught his attention a couple of times, with all of the determination she seemed to display about her work here. It was obvious the girl wanted to work to pay them back, and though that was an easy concept from a business point of view, it sent small grins across Kyoya's face to think of. When it came time for their guests to leave, as well as the others, Kyoya would show them out before returning to his clipboard. However, turning around he found himself facing Teagan, cleaning once more. Shaking his head a bit at her, he would set his clipboard down, and approach as he had yesterday. He moved to set the chairs up on the table once more as he spoke, "You worked pretty hard today." His comment was spoken carefully, man's if meant to be a compliment, but not quite worded like one.

She grinned. "I had a lot of energy today so I figured why not put it to something useful." She said as she bustled around, doing this and that to tidy up. Teagan had a surprising knack for tidiness that a lot of kids of her status did not have because of their upbringing. Once she was finished she stopped for a second. "Ah... Ootori-san..." She said quietly. "Uhmmm, do you know if there are any foods or anything Fujioka-san really likes?" She asked. "I..." She looked to be trying to figure out what to say.

Standing outside the door was Haruhi. She had planned to break the news to Teagan, but Kyoya was there and she didn't want to do so in front of other people.

Teagan finally found the words. "I... Well, I wanna ask Fujioka-san... well I kind of want to ask him out on a d-d-date." The last part was squeaked out and she was already red in the face. "I know I've only known him two days, but I'd really like to spend some more time with him..." She said. "I was going to ask on Saturday, after the get together at my house..."

Haruhi winced, and tried to make herself small, not sure she had the heart to break it to Teagan.

Pleased to hear her reply, Kyoya would even allow a soft bit of a chuckle to escape his lips. "Well, you've earned my gratitude," he spoke simply, then pausing as it seemed she had something else to say. It took her a while to form the words, and he waited patiently, a gleam of curiosity tinting his eyes. His suspicions from earlier were made crystal clear as she requested to known if Haruhi had any particular foods that's he liked, which made him think to himself for a moment. "Haruhi seems to enjoy foods he hasn't tried yet-- he's not that used to anything you cannot often find in a supermarket. I'd suggest anything a typical Ouran student would enjoy at home. Or perhaps, simply tuna. I do recall him enjoying that..."

This was when she actually irked Kyoya slightly, he felt an odd downward tugging of his mood as he let out a soft sigh. Someone had to tell her. Any longer and she would ask Haruhi on a date, and Kyoya knew all too well that Haruhi wouldn't be able to reject her swiftly, even if she did not want to go on a date with Teagan. Though, admittedly, he hadn't wanted to tell her either, to hurt her feelings. Yet he remembered his place, his tendency to play the 'bad guy' to lessen burdens from his friends. So standing up straight, shifting oddly for a moment, then rubbing the back of his neck oddly he would admit Haruhi's secret, "Nakashima-san, I hope you are not angry, but I regret to inform you that Haruhi is a girl. She owes our club a debt that she wishes to repay through hosting as a boy, so I assure you her acting as a male is for good reason. It would do her, and us all, a great favor if you would not speak of it to anyone outside the club members."

You could have knocked her over with a feather. She stood there, floored with total disbelief. "T-That can't be..." She didn't want it to be. "I... This is a really sick joke, Ootori-san..." She said quietly, looking quite upset.

Haruhi could take no more. She quietly slipped into the room and placed her hand on Teagan's shoulder. "It is, though, Nakashima-san..." She said sadly. "I am Haruhi Fujioka, and I'm a girl..." She explained, feeling horrible for what Teagan must have been feeling right now.

Teagan looked back at her, then towards Kyoya. So they weren't joking. She looked pretty heartbroken. A beaten grin pressed on her lips as the tears sort of welled in her eyes. "I feel stupid... Guys never actually like me. Of course she's a girl..." She said quietly before she turned and ran off. She was obviously upset. She'd even left her bag behind.

Kyoya again shifted where he stood, visibly uncomfortable, not quite sure how to defend his words in this scenario. Her words struck some small place in his gut, his lips pressing together lightly as he tried to figure just how to compose himself right now. It was proving to be a terribly difficult task, and with her believing that he was just trying to play a joke, he found himself a bit lost. While this wouldn't show in his expression, his eyebrows would knit together the slightest bit.

Haruhi's appearance comforted him in the slightest bit, for now it was clear that he was not joking. Yet, how would she feel to find out from the person she liked that a relationship between them was not going to happen. Kyoya could not imagine such, but he did find some sympathy in this. It was a weight he was not fond of carrying. The broken grin on Teagan's face ultimately broke his exterior, his lips parting to search for words for a moment until she ran off alone. He had done nothing-- and he scolded himself severely for not doing so.

Again his lips pressed together in a firm line for quiet moment after she left, his eyes on the door where she had gone out through. What to do? Kyoya was not quite himself, but this wasn't of his concern right now. "Excuse me," he spoke softly, voice low as he quickly passed Haruhi, one of his hands grabbing Teagan's bag firmly as he ran out the door and after her with a speed many would credit an athlete with. Yet, in his mind, it was mere determination. He only wished he could catch her before she altogether disappeared beyond sight.

Teagan ran and ran until she got to the train station. She didn't want to be seen by people she knew this way. It just wasn't even fair. Every guy that came her way tended to be a jerk and the ones who weren't... Well, they were either girls, or they were keeping secrets. She stopped in the train station and bought a random ticket. That caused her to stop for a bit as she waited for the train indicated on whatever ticket she'd just bought. She couldn't see any harm in getting away for a little bit. So she waited for her train, and sat on a bench.

While Kyoya couldn't catch up with her, he tried desperately to do so. He followed her off of school grounds, down the street, and all the way to said train station with nothing but her bag in his hand. By then, his glasses' gradual sliding had left them barely hanging onto his face, so he bent over outside the entrance for a moment, then pushing his glasses up along his nose to its bridge before slipping inside discreetly. It didn't take too long for him to spot Teagan sitting alone at a bench holding a train ticket, leaving a soft sigh to part his lips. Upsetting her so had stirred a discomfort in him, something that typically only happened with Tamaki or one of the other hosts on very rare occasions.

He would approach slowly so as not to startle her, taking a seat next to her on the bench, still panting lightly as he looked on ahead of him. "You will worry people by running off like that," he commented in a manner as if to scold her, though his tone was particularly gentle. Then after a brief pause, he would set her bag down between them, a small grin reppearing on his face. "You left your bag behind," he then began slowly, unsure of what to say for a moment before rubbing the back of his neck as he had earlier. He noticed this was becoming a nervous habit, and stopped himself, placing his hands within his lap. "Miss Nakashima, might I make a suggestion to you? You are by all means a lovely girl with a refreshing personality and a talent of bringing on smiles, a perfect candidate for any lucky guy to fawn over." He spoke calmly, as if in a business manner, though his words were sincere as was his tone. "A guy that is deserving of you may take a while to come upon, but when he does he will work hard to do his best to make you happy, I am sure."

She didn't say anything for a few moments, or even look up, and soon it became clear why, when a few wet spots appeared on her lap. She looked up, and she was crying. She tended to do that, because she was a bit of a cry baby. "It won't happen... You know how I know? Because, no guy ever wants a crybaby, and they are all too totally enamored just because I have a pretty face. I'm tired of it! I feel like a plastic doll. I'm really not." She said, her fingers curling into the fabrics in her skirt. "The only ones who like me are those whose job it is to like me, and those who think liking me will get them something they want..." She said looking off to the side. "I've even been told to just accept it, because that's the only way I'll stay in the money is to marry." She said, thinking about a chat she'd once had with her mother. "I wish I wasn't pretty... Because that's all people really see. Fujioka-san's proof... She was friendly to me just because, and she's a girl."

The time between his words and her response alerted Kyoya that something was up, so turning his head he would hope to see what exactly it was. Catching a glimpse of tears startled him a bit, for he wasn't used to seeing such, andnwasntnthe best of those he knew in comforting others. Still, the man knew the basics. With but a few moments of hesitation, Kyoya would pick up her bag, place on his other side, and adjust himself to be sitting nearer her. His arm rose to curl gently around her, his hand upon her further side's forearm as he tilted his head to reply. "Not all men are so, however it appears," he assured her in a low voice, his tone gentle, his facial expression serious.

She looked at him, a bit startled, but not necessarily in a bad way. He was comforting her. Why was he comforting her, when it really didn't serve him much of a purpose. He could have just as easily have handed her her bag and left, but he sat her with her. "I... I'm sorry... I shouldn't be such a crybaby..." She said quietly, as she rubbed her eyes, trying to hide how she had just cried like a school girl. "Please don't tell anyone that I cried like this. Or that I was going to ask Fujioka-san out on a date?" She asked softly. She was so embarrassed by how she'd behaved today. "I'm sorry I made you run like that... Please forgive me."

As she apologized, Kyoya would shake his head softly, then grin in her direction. He readjusted himself to simply be sitting next to her once more, his hands resting calmly in his lap as he looked out at the people walking past them and the different trains at the station. It was abnormal to him to be sitting here comforting another, but regardless of appearances he was not altogether a bad person, and most certainly not a heartless one at that. "It's quite alright. I will not mention it," he gave his word, then becoming quiet for a few moments as he thought over his actions and her last words. He didn't feel right-- was he coming ill? Quite possibly, he assumed. "I chose to run," he corrected her last words simply, not seeing the need to explain itself further. Then standing abruptly, he would look back at her from over his shoulder, "Perhaps we should return that train ticket, before you can no longer refund your money?"

She shrugged and looked around at the gates. She walked up to someone waiting to buy a ticket and handed it to them. "Here, have this." She said as she then turned to walk back to Kyoya and grabbed her bag. "Okay, I suppose we should part ways now, huh?" She didn't know if they lived in the same direction, so she didn't want to risk inconveniencing him by asking him to walk with her. "I appreciate you coming to console me, it was sweet of you," She added with a bit of a smile.

Kyoya remained where he stood, watching her curiously as she simply handed off her ticket to a soon-to-be passenger. A grin curled up along his lips slowly, but his gaze moved along down to his watch, checking the time as opposed to being caught watching her give away her ticket. It weren't as if giving away the ticket was a bad thing, however. Her suggestion cued a nod on his part, his grin remaining in place. "Ah, yes, it was no problem. I'll be seeing you tomorrow," he spoke casually, sending a short wave in her direction before beginning along his way back to the entrance. Typically he would call a driver to come pick him up, but it so happened that in his hurry, he had left his clipboard at home. He would have to return to get it before actually going home, not the the particularly minded. Running after her so abruptly was his fault, after all.

And so they parted for that day. The next morning, she was at the 3rd Music Room, bright and early. She was busily storing away sweets she had made for the day. All of them were Italian themed or classics from Italy. Cannoli filled with wide array of decadent fillings. Individual servings of Panna Cotta. Baskets full of Cantuccini biscuits. Crostatas of all flavors. Tiramisu. Fine, hand made chocolates. She'd overseen the making of them all with a crew of her chefs. She'd worked well into the night to make all of this. She was quite proud of it. Teagan hummed as she continued to store the treats.

Being honest, she was doing her damndest to forget about the day before and how she had acted. She wasn't going to tell about Haruhi. Not in this lifetime or any other. Her lips were sealed.

Again it seemed Teagan had beat him to the host club's room, and she hadn't been there for not either. The pleasant aromas practically wafted out of the room and nearly all the way down the music hallway, a welcoming atmosphere already even before the decor Tamaki had Kyoya order had arrived. Kyoya would enter alone, clipboard in hand, though his dress was quite different. He wore costume, as he was aware the Rogers would all be expected to. He wore plain, straight-legged, black pants and a white and red striped tank top, a red handkerchief of sorts tied neatly sideways at the base of his neck--- he was made to look like a canal runner. Upon seeing Teagn, he would grin, and speak, "Ciao, bella. I'd have to say I'm impressed. You've outdone yourself, Nakashima-san."

He stepped in casually, looking around before looking over his shoulder. Behind him, seven burly men with props and whatnot would enter the room and foe quickly about with what looked to be expensive stage decor. The set-up was extravagant, the tables clothed with a deep red color, roses in crystal vases on each, the floor overlaid with a material that looked and felt quite like cobblestone, and the rest of the decor completely covering the room with the exception of the windows to make it resemble the epitome of an Italian street. As the men cleared, Kyoya would be left with trunks of costume for the others, opening one in particular before looking over at Teagan once more. "Tamaki insists we all wear costume for inter-club events. You do not terriboy mind do you?" he withdrew a gown, embroidered elegantly and stitched delicately with tiny inlaid jewels along its torso. It resembled an opera dress, made for her if she would agree to wear such. If not, he mused, Tamaki might be offended but it wouldn't altogether be a hassle.

She looked him up and down when he came in, then smiled. "Very nice. You pull that off well." She said. At his compliments she just grinned and flushed a bit. "This is what I love to do." She said with a nod. "I adore baking."

Teagan watched with no small measure of awe as the music room was turned into an Italian street. It was something else. When these boys put on a show, they really took out all of the stops. She was about to turn and say that very thing to Kyoya, but when she turned he was holding a gown and and had began to speak. "Me? In a costume." She looked at the gown. "It's sooo beautiful." She said with a smile. "I just hope I can pull it off." She said. "I will wear it, but you have to promise not to laugh, okay?"

Her compliment caused a small grin to rise to his face, thoug hit took him wute off guard. He wasn't one for earning many compliments, what with his impressive older brothers at home and his fellow hosts at school, and part of him appreciated hearing so. "Ah, thank you," he replied after a quite moment of surprise. Then looking over the food he saw present, he would nod at her in acknowledgment, "It's evident in your work."

Again his grin flickered to life as she regarded the gown, glad that she seemed to fancy it, at least in appearances. He had ordered each piece of costume and set that was present, not that he would be one to say so, just as he hadn't mentioned his choice of chocolates the day prior. "I promise that I will not laugh, though I suspect you will pull it off well," he assures her, handing over the gown to her then gesturing to a part of the room just behind a short bend of mock buildings. "There is a place to change just back there," he directed her in case she needed to know, then moving to open the rest of the trunks of clothing in preparation for the other hosts.

Teagan followed him, but not before grabbing her bag. She took it with her and slipped away to change. She was out of sight for about 15 minutes before she stepped out again, wearing the gown. As an add-in, she'd pulled here hair halfway up into a fine barrette that she carried in her bag. She looked quite bashful right about now as she peaked out. "It's a bit more form fitting than I'm used to." She said as she stepped out the rest of the way. She was used to dressing fairly casually, or just wearing some sort of school uniform, so this was out of the ordinary for her. She bit her lip. "I hope this looks right." She said. "It feels like a gown meant for a queen."

While tending to other matters, both financial slips from his clipboard as per usual and last minute additions to the decor, he would await her return from changing patiently. He was just about to ask if she was doing alright when she peeked on out. A he took a moment to observe her dress, he found his words lost before they even formed. He shifted slightly, hesitant before speaking, thent grinning when he did. "You look splendid," he complimented sincerely, though his face remained nearly entirely impassive. If anyone were to look close enough, they would see the faintest of tints to his cheeks as he regarded him curiously. She was a beautiful girl, he had already observed this fact, but the gown suited her all too well in his opinion. While he had chosen it, he didn't know quite how it would fit, and while it was meant to be worn so it still caught him a bit off guard.

This was when the twins would waltz on in, taking a moment to regard Teagan curiously before slipping their costumes from the trunks and slipping out of sight. Tamaki too appeared, commenting to himself about his good impression of the scenery before slipping out an outfit for himself as well before going off to change. Moments later the twins would appear in traditional Italian men-wear, which suited them well, and Tamaki would slip out behind them in a carnival mask and cloak, the most theatric costume for their most theatric host. The others would file in and do similarly, Kyoya stiffening a bit at first as the twins came in for fret of them commenting on his oddness before he straightened himself back out.

She smiled at his compliment and her cheeks got a bit rosy. Seems she was often blushing at the things he said. He seemed to compliment her alot. Admittedly, she didn't mind it one bit. It was easier to work hard when one felt they were appreciated for what they did.

Teagan went and took a seat so that she would be out of the way. She kept glancing over at Kyoya, who she noticed looked a bit ill at ease. She thought about why, but couldn't figure anything out, so she thought maybe it just might be in her head.

Soon, Honey and Mori strolled in, followed by Haruhi. In classic theme day form, each went to find their costume. Honey, being the most forward of the lot, took a look at Teagan and smiled. "Tea-chan, you look pretty! Just like a princess!" he said, loudly, and with little restraint on his enthusiasm.

Teagan both blushed crimson and blinked. "Tea-chan? That's so... So cute!" She said, with a grin and a laugh. It was the first full laugh she'd had in front of everyone. "Honey-senpai, you should sample some of the sweets I made for the day!" She said with a grin.

While his own sense that he wasn't quite acting like himself was driving him to an awkward restlessness that was so very uncharacteristic of him, the sight of her blush had just the opposite effect. It was a pleasant sight- though he daren't admit so even to himself- and it had somewhat of a calming effect on him. Fortunately for the sake of his confidence, he was able to find his composure in a timely fashion, enough to conceal his odd behavior from the other hosts.

He perched upon a window ledge, taking down stock of what all decorations and costumes had arrive, and they all had, for Kyoya would only put forth his best efforts for this club. Partially, he would admit, simply because Tamaki would remain impressed this way. To assist his motivation, however, was the thought of succeeding in whatever work he put himself to. It was an important trait for him to have if he was to have even a chance at picking up the family's name. He glanced upwards at Honey and Tagan as he heard their exchange, finding the compliment to be true, her reaction to be cute, and her laugh to be a musical sound to his ears, he quickly dismissed this however to favor his work, wishing to achieve the manner he had seemed to have begun to lost. Whatever cold was coming on, he wished to dispel it, however oblivious he was to the fact that he was indeed not coming down with a cold-- he was experiencing something far more complex.

Once Honey, Mori and Haruhi dressed, things became entertaining. Haruhi was playing around with the music they would play in the backdrop, and came to a spirited waltz number. Honey wandered over to Teagan. "Tea-chan, you should dance with me!" He said, offering his hand. She grinned. "I'd loooove to, Honey-sempai!" She seemed to be having quite a bit of fun as they danced around. It was really quite a humorous scene to see her dance with Honey as she was taller by quite a bit.

Haruhi watched and laughed. "Things certainly are spirited." She said as she walked over to Kyoya. "You should take a break from all the inventory and calculations, you know?" she chided lightly.
