"uhg" Blob shook his head, the effect was... very weird.

"Sorry Blob" Kurt teleported onto his shoulders, "I think it's time to take you out of this fight" and he teleported Blob away several times to get him well out of sight.

It made a siren's scream when Blob was nowhere to be seen. It's eyes blazing with anger. It grabbed hold of Kitty slammed her into the ground hard. Actually was able to scratch Colossus' metal skin, punched Iceman in the stomach and cut Scott's shoulder.

The only thing that seemed to be doing anything was Scott's blast but it won't stay still long enough for him to hit it. You would think because it was so big that it would be an easy target.

"Scott, look out!" Iceman yelled. The creature appeared behind Scott. It wrapped it's clawed hand around Scott's head and ripped off his visor and pinned him to the ground. It was smelling him when a yellow blast hit it.

It roared, retreating back a few steps. Then another blast and a flash of light and the beast was contained in a glowing yellow net.

"Heard you were having a issue with a Mutant Monster." Cable came walking out from around a wall. The creature seemed stunned under the net, though it hiss and clicked lightly.

Kitty landed softly thanks to her powers and came running back over but before she could help again, Cable showed up, "Cable!" she proclaimed, "What are you like, doing here?"

Collosus picked up Scott's visor and brought it back to him, "it's a little damaged" he commented, "but should still do the job"

Scott put it on, opened his eyes facing the ground just to make sure. "Thanks."

"Well little lady, I was in the neighborhood and I got a call from that Phil fellow. Can't say no to a fellow time traveler when it comes to this issue.." He walked over to the creature and kicked it lightly, making sure the creature was stunned and not faking it. " Didn't think this problem dated back this far but I suppose if the mother isn't from this time to begin with..." He trailed off before turning to Collosus, "Wanna give me a hand?" He asked, grabbing hold of the net.

Collosus nodded and grabbed the net with Cable.

"Please tell me that thing is contained" Kitty eyed it.

"It's contained. For now." Cable ensured her.

Scott touched his com, "Emma, we have the creature. Tell Phil we have it."

Ciara was sweating buckets, she'd come around, "Pietro...Is that you?" She asked, her vision blurred.

"Is it alive?" Emma asked.


"I'm here" Pietro spoke softly as he gently rubbed her hand, "You're okay"

"Yeah, damn thing's alive..." He glared at it.

"I don't feel ok." She mumbled, "Is it out?" She asked softly.

"It's gone" Pietro nodded, "Everything's alright now. Just focus on getting yourself better"

"Pietro...If If I don't make it through this..." She stranded her hand to touch his cheek, "This wasn't your fault...Please don't blame yourself. I love you." She said softly, trying to stay awake. Her skin was slowly returning to it's normal colour, the toxin was adsorbing into her muscles and organs.

"No" Pietro shook his head, tears welling up in his eyes, "You are not going to die! You are going to be fine!"

Phil was extracting a sample from the creature as Collosus and Cable brought the thing in. "Cable, can you help me with the antidote? Ciara needs it"

Cable nodded, "Tell me what you need."

"Shhhh... It's ok, love." She said softly, "Could you hold me?"

Phil nodded gratefully and got to work.

Pietro wrapped his arms around Ciara, "you're going to be okay, you're going to be okay, you're going to be okay..."

By the time they gave Ciara the antidote, the toxin has done a great deal of damage. A chuck of her hair had turned white. It had weakened her muscles and lowered her immune system. So much in fact that walking long distances would be a challenge and her life span would surely be lessen. How much? They couldn't be certain. All they knew is that it had done a great deal of damage, damage that could not be undone.

It was about a week for her to full come around. "Pietro?"

Pietro was sitting in the chair next to her, knitting. There was already a collection of hats, mitts, scarves ans sweaters stacked on the side table from him passing away today. Upon hearing her voice he sat up straight and dropped the onesy he was working on, "Ciara?!"

"Hey good looking.." She smiled dizzily. "You been busy much?" She was referring of course to the gala of knit wear in the room.

"They wouldn't let me take a sewing machine in here" Pietro shrugged, "Do you know anyone who could use eighteen knit baby onesies?" he asked, "I thought they were cute so I made one in every colour I had."

She chuckled, sitting up in the bed, "They're so cute." She smiled, picking up and playing with it. She held it much like how you would hold a child...baby- She looked up alarmed, "Where is it? Is it alive?"

Pietro shook his head, "Don't think about that now, it's over. The x-squad took care of it"

She knew she should be happy about it no longer being inside her but she broke down into tears. Her motherly hormones kicking in. "Oh gods, what I have I done? It was my baby...Our baby..."

Cable stood, fiddling with his gun. "Are you done with it yet?" He asked Phil, "The sooner we kill it the better."

Pietro moved forward and pulled Ciara into a hug, stroking her hair gently, "No, no it wasn't" he hushed her, "it was nothing like that... it was just a... a parasite. It attacked Beast! It wasn't a baby, not even close."


Phil shook his head, "This will be my only chance to learn about this thing. I will not have it happen again. My daughter is going to live a long and happy life, and if she ever wants to have a child... I need to make sure that can happen for her. So no, we are not killing it, not until I have everything I need and in this day and age... that could take months."

Cable raised an eye brow and sighed, "How about I save you all that trouble and just give her the vaccine for the bug?" He stated calmly, pulling out a small bottle from his belt.

Phil looked at him angrilly, "and you couldn't have mentioned this sooner?! Wait, what vaccine? When do they develop a cure?"

"Calm down, little man." He pulled a cube out of his pocket and placed it on the table. "In my time. There were some things that'd over looked when dealing with this issue...." A hologram of Mutant DNA appeared above the purple cube in green tints. "It wasn't our DNA that was causing the problem... It was this." He zoomed in on one location to show a very odd shape, almost like a small beetle made out of DNA. "Not much is known about how it was done. But every mutant had been infected by this alien DNA... a parasite if you will. It latched onto our DNA, disguising itself as normal DNA.. Trying to alter and advance our mutant genes... Once we discovered what the actual cause was it a cake walk.

It's one of the reasons I came back to this time. To find how this was done and hopefully stop it. There's too many M freaks like this one in the future I come from... This one is a lamb compared to the wolves my time has produced. They're still working on giving the vaccine to everyone... Sometimes it has to be altered depending on the mutants powers... A very long process... But this should work for your little water Nymph." He explained.


Ciara finally stopped crying and stared at all the baby clothes and then she remembered and blushed, "Did I... say anything about baring your child?"

"Alien DNA?" Phil looked confused, taking a good look at the hologram, "what on earth...? How is this possible? To infect the whole race?"


Pietro smiled a little, "Honestly? With everything going on, I barely remember anything said to me in the past while."
