It was darkness and light, sheer silence and echoing sound. A place between places where two boys argued.

"I screwed up"

"You're killing her"

"I just need one more try"

"That's what you said twenty three timelines ago"

"WELL THIS TIME IT'S TRUE!"

"... that's what you said twelve times ago"

"I've had about enough from you" Horatio snapped, "She is going to live, she is going to have a full and healthy life and she is going to be happy and sane and... and I won't stop until it's done."

"LISTEN TO ME!" Screamed Max but it was too late. Horatio's eyes flashed and he was gone to begin anew.

The man pulled hard on the string and Ciara felt like... like she was ripped from her body.

"It's alright, my dear. It's time to move on." The man said, getting down on one knee and held out his hand.

She turned to see herself in the wheelchair, eyes closed, hands gripping the teal onesie. She looked back at the man, she was now transparent like him but she was much younger, about 3 or 4. "He didn't find me again," She looked at the red string coming from her chest and frowned.

"Cheer up," The man said tilting her chin. "Today you start a new life. You can make different choices for yourself and him."

"Are we moving on again?" came a little voice from beside her.
She looked down, "Chibi Sin." She picked him up, a red string coming from his chest and connecting him to Ciara. "Ready for another new world?"

He grunted grumpily, "I liked that world, liked the other me. Can we bring him with us?"

The man in the top hat grinned, "And cause more mischief? If we take him, we'll have to balance him out....hmmm... Dark Beast should do for that. " He wrapped two strings around Ciara's wrist.

Little Ciara took his hand as they walked through the door and upon the two time travelers. The man looked unpleasantly at Max, "Rather dislike that one..." He said softly before tying Ciara's string to Horatio's pinky. Neither time traveler could see them. "Off you go."

And off down the rabbit hole they went. This time was different. It was much harder for Charles to contain her powers, as it was every time they moved to the next timeline. Surely the next one, Charles would only be able to dampen it.

The following chances happened:
Ciara and Logan never dated, but became close friends throughout time. As a result, Ciara made the moves on Horatio.

But knowing he could never be there for her fully... she started dating Pietro much earlier. He still left which he explained as needed time away... But she still totally love Horatio. :3

And Mystic couldn't make the moves on Namour because Ciara was already in a relationship so they were close friends though Namour CLEARLY wanted more.

And Eric was much more chumpy with his son. Since he was dating the girl he wanted him to date :p *PROUD DAD*

We return to the night where Ciara thought it a good idea to go swimming in the icy water. Now the two were back at her little house, trying to get warm.
Ciara blushed, wrapping the blanket around herself, "You're staring, Pietro."

"Am not" Pietro replied with a humf and then grinned a little, "There's a difference between staring and admiring"

She turned bright red. He always knew what to say to make her blush. "What are you admiring about me?" She asked, swaying back and forth in place.

"Everything" he replied, snuggling up next to her and wrapping his arms around her.

Suddenly there was a sharp pain in her arm and Horatio stood next to Ciara, holding a syringe in her arm, "Sorry" he squeeked the boy immediately, "Really, really sorry. Had to be done. Um... That's all. Continue I guess.... err... bye" he removed the needle and disappeared.

She giggled and was about to kiss him when-

"OOOOWWWW! Crud muffins!" She sat up and turned seeing little Horatio and paused. Then he was gone, "Ok, that was weird.." She rubbed her arm. "You couldn't give me a band-aid?" She called out, getting up to get a tissue, leaving the blanket behind.

Pietro sat there, looking rather startled, "uuuhhhh...."

She placed the tissue on her wound and applied pressure. She turned and saw Pietro's expression, "Like I said before, it's better to just accept whatever Horatio does as a good thing. If you think too much about it your head starts hurting. Must have been a vaccine or something I needed." She sat down on the bed and after a moment shivered.

"Are you gonna admire all day or are you gonna keep your lady warm? I could cut ice with these." She teased, throwing the tissue in the garbage.

"So... he does this regularly?" Pietro asked, wrapping his arms around her again to warm her up, "just, pops in to fix things you don't even know need fixing?"

She thought about it, "Hmmm... Every now and then. But I usually have clothes on and I'm by myself." She teased, snuggling into him, "But if it weren't for him, I'd be dead. And I won't be here in the arms of the man I love." She kissed his neck lovingly. "This handsome, overly sexy man.." She kissed his chest, before snuggling against it.

Pietro couldn't help but grin.

Some time later....

Ciara was in her house when all of a sudden the bat communicator that Bruce had given her started ringing.

Ciara was humming to herself as she braided her hair in the bathroom. She turned her head when she heard the noise. What on earth was that noise? She wandered outside the bathroom upstairs til she noticed the flashing of the bat communicator on her night side table.

"Crap!" She leapt across the bed, ended up half way on the bed and head and shoulders on the floor, "String Ray here. Sorry, would have grabbed it sooner if I knew what the ring tone sounded like."

"Sting ray" Batman greeted, "Your presence is being requested by the Justice League. Come to the Bat Cave and we'll go from there."

Ciara almost dropped the phone. The Justice League? No way. Those were the big leagues. "Really?! I'll be there right away-...Oh," She remembered something, "Have you cleared it with Cyclops? I'm still not fit for active duty so I kinda can't leave the island... They covered the air ducts since last time." She added, going to her closet, pulling a switch and watching as the wall rotated to showcase her Sting ray gear.

"It won't be a problem, see you soon." Batman replied and then switched coms over to talk to Scott. There was no use telling him until Batman knew Ciara was coming after all. It was easy enough to hijack Scott's personal com, "Cyclops, this is Batman. Ciara McCoy is leaving the island on official Justice League business. I trust you will not stand in her way."

Cyclops blinked, having just been taking to someone else seconds ago. "Depends. If it's anything like last time then you know my answer." He answered. Last time Ciara left to go on a mission with Batman, she'd been kidnapped, brainwashed and drugged. She was doing a lot better but Scott didn't want her out saving the world just yet. The girl needed to take some time off for herself. Something she hadn't done in a long time.

"Nothing like last time" Batman replied assuredly, "She won't even leave the base."

"Alright. I leave her in your hands then." Scott replied. "And thank you for letting me know. You picking her up or do I need to give her a lift?"

"She's already on the batplane" Batman replied as it had just picked Ciara up from her house. With that, he dropped the connection.

Scott rubbed the back of his head and sighed.

Ciara climbed aboard, "Hello? Anyone on board?" She asked. Not sure if it was being piloted by itself.

"Take a seat, I'll brief you along the way" said Batman's face on the main screen. Apparently it was on autopilot. "Are you aware of our Young Justice team?"

She sat down and buckled herself in, "The team that Robin and Nightwing are a part of? Yeah, I've heard of them."

"Nightwing is the home leader, he doesn't usually go on missions himself unless they're very important. You know Robin, yes, the others include Miss Martian, kid flash, Aqua lad, Artemis and Super Boy. I've decided to bring you in officially as a third party to test their security systems but I would like you stick around after that for a few private lessons, particularly with Kid Flash and Super boy. Their swimming skills are... lacking."
