Nathan looked at the book with a raised brow, "uh... no." he replied flatly, "I'm not talking about your attempt at news broadcasting." he thought for a moment, "was it the... 1860's? no, 1870's. You sponsored one of my projects"

Gordan gave a signal to stop filming, he chuckled, "You must be mistaken. I couldn't possibly be that old. You must be thinking of my Great great grandfather. Our family has a think for naming family members after one another."

Nathan looked at him skeptically, "I have seen how similar genetics can render one generation like the next but this would be absolutely uncanny. Although I can understand how you may not recognize me, I learned a long time ago that one does not gain much respect in the form of a child, unfortunately that is the form I am stuck in. Regardless, are you absolutely certain you have never known a man by the name Nathaniel Essex?"

Gordan turned a bit pale but shook his head, "Sorry, I'm afraid I haven't. But I would love to hear what project my family helped fund." Gordan wrapped an arm around the lad and started to lead him into one of the private rooms in the back.

"Umm... Not terribly certain you really want to know that" Nathan eyed him, "if indeed it was not you" still, he let Gordan guide him away although Gambit was right behind them.

Gordan stopped Gambit at the door, "You wouldn't mind just... waiting here would you, my good sir?" He'd put his hand near Gambit's, a couple hundred dollar bills making their way from Gordan's to Gambit's hand.

Gambit shrugged, "Oui Monsuer, but if 'e cuts ya open to see 'ow you tick, dat's not on moi" he leaned against the wall near the door to the back room.

As soon as they were alone Nathan turned on Gordan, "it is you, I knew it." he eyed him over, "You haven't aged a day. Is it enhanced cellular reconstruction or something else?"

Gordan closed the door behind him and spoke in a stern quiet voice."Immortality. And I would appreciate it if you didn't let the whole island know. What are you doing here anyway Sinister? Shouldn't you be off in some underground lab?"

Nathan chuckled, "Obviously it's immortality, I'm wondering what kind. Oh, also, I don't go by the name Mister Sinister anymore. That would be... the other one" he frowned, "And not all my labs were underground as you well know, I've had a few above ground, posing as insane asylums. Thank you for the funding by the way, I learned a lot in those years. It was a shame the place burned down and I could never present you with my findings, I'm sure you would have found them fascinating. Imagine learning things about the x-genome then that they are only uncovering now?" he smiled and hopped up to sit on a table so he was a little closer to Gordan's height, "Funny that you're asking why I'm here when the precise question is on my lips to you."

"...I'm not really 'sure' what kind... Other one?... You're not from this dimension are you? The insane asylum didn't burn down it was taken over by the government and all documents burned... Regardless that was then and this is now. I've changed since then. Now I'm simply a reporter. Rather fun actually."

Nathan eyed him uncertainly for a moment, then sighed irritably as he tugged lightly on the collar around his neck-it could rather annoying sometimes, "You've always been a rather convincing man Godfrey but let's be honest. We immortals never become 'simply' this or that. Tell me, did this version of you ever marry a woman named Kiya? In my timeline she burned down with the asylum. What happened to yours?" he smirked a little.

Gordan's face turned pale. And his expression faded to nothing. "I'd rather not talk about it. I've decided to try and live a somewhat normal life this time round. Please don't interfere with it." Gordan turned to leave.

"Gordan, wait" Nathan sighed, "Come on man, don't be like that. I've been told I can come across as abrasive at times, my apologies. I'm also trying something new. Evidently my tendencies towards all things scientific is more than a mild obsession but rather a side effect of my abilities, hence the collar. It's probably the only thing keeping me from ripping off your face out of curiosity at the moment. I suppose if I can ask for another chance then it's fair you have the same." he hopped off the table and offered Gordan his hand, "I have no intention of revealing your little secret"

Gordan smiled lightly and took Nathan's hand, 'Likewise, Nathan. I must apologies as well. I didn't expect anyone here to know who I really was... Took me by surprise really."

"I would imagine so" Nathan chuckled, then his grip on Gordan's hand tightened and he brought the man down his level, "but just so we are clear, if you do pull anything while you are here I will rip off this collar, skin you alive and let your blood flow into the ocean while sharks feast on your meat. Then I will wait, because I would very much like to see how long it would take for you to recover from such a thing." he spoke very calmly with a smile on his face and a disturbing amount of curiosity in his eyes. With that he let go of Gordan's hand and walked cheerily out of the room.

Gordan straightened his tie and shook his head, "Why do people keep threatening me? It's rather upsetting..." He mumbled to himself.

Ciara knocked on Charles' door. "Hey Charlie... Heard you found a place to stay."

"Ciara! How pleasant to see you" Charles smiled, stepping aside to let her in, "I'm afraid it isn't much at the moment. Locating furniture with a minimal budget is not exactly one of my stronger suits." The place really didn't have much at the moment. A couple of old wooden chairs and a small coffee table, a mattress on the floor in the bedroom and a teapot on the stove. "I would ask Eric to help but everything he makes it so... heavy" he sighed.

Ciara chuckled,"Yes, Papa certainly likes his furniture durable. Well, you'll be pleased to know I have some home warming presents for you. Ok guys." And in walked several old members of the X men, carrying furniture, linens, lamps, books, food, etc. And several boxes which had labels on them like "To Charles From Scott." and so forth since many of them were out on missions.

"I called everyone up and asked if they had anything to help out. Since you helped us all, it's the less we could do for you, Charlie." They all smiled. Finally being able to give back to the man who had taken care of them for so long... it felt good.

Charles watched in amazement, covering his gaping mouth his hand, "I... I have no words..."

"Try Thank you." Bobby blurted out which got him an elbow to the ribs.
"If it wasn't for you, some of us won't be like here today." Kitty said, handing him an envelope. Some of other members didn't have anything to give so... they came up with this." It was 5k.

Ciara smiled warmly, "It's the least we can do for you...Oh, and Papa wanted you to give you this before he left but you know how busy he gets..." It was a metal card with the words Magneto Card "Use it at any of the stores listed on the back and they'll put it on Eric's tab."

"I thought Magneto got most things for free-" Bobby started but was interrupted by Kitty and Ciara elbowing him.

Charles was overwhelmed, he even swallowed back tears as he stepped forward and brought everyone into a group hug, "Thank you" he told them as sincerely as he could, "I would not trade a moment of our pasts together for all the riches in the world." he let them go, "except, you know, maybe the blowing myself up part" he joked.

They all laughed and hugged Charles tightly. They all went to work setting up his apartment for him. And around dinner time, Logan came up with pizzas and beer. They talked about the good old days, had drinking contests and just a really great time.

By the time Ciara was ready to leave her feet had swelled up and couldn't fit into her sandels. "Anyone going my way?"

"I'll drive ya" Bobby offered but Logan shoved him back on the couch.

"No ya won't" Logan grunted, "I'm the most sober one here"

"You also drank the most" Charles chuckled.

"Bonus of being me" Logan threw his shoes on, "I'll give you a ride back squirt"

"Yay. And you're all wrong, I'm the most sober one here." She picked up her sandals, "You won't be able to carry me would you?" She asked sweetly.

"I'm already carrying a ton of adamatium and you want a piggy back ride?" Logan shook his head and crouched down, "hop on squirt" he chuckled
