Miss Ambrose was standing in the front hall, it was spring time in Canada. She had on a long purple dress and a light blue knitted sweater. "Good Morning!" She greeted as he came down the stairs. "Did you sleep alright?"

"Well enough, thank you" Eric replied, "You look quite lovely today"

"Oh, why thank you." She smiled warmly. "It was my mothers. Shall we?" She headed out, holding the door for him.

"Excellent" he nodded and stepped outside with her, "lead the way, I have not yet gained my bearings around here"

"Not a problem. It's quite simple after you get the hang of it. These smaller houses here are for faculty and the larger ones up ahead are the students doms. Each building houses about 20 students. Each one has a microwave and a small convention oven and fridge in case students get hungry in between meals. But they're encouraged to eat in the mass hall. I know some of them weren't happy since they couldn't bake so we made a few adjustments in the homes. Depending on students prefers, some houses are mixed others are girls or boys only." She explained as they walked.

"If you continue down the road here, it leads to the main road that goes down into town. BUT if you take the path here, it leads straight to school grounds. I just love it during this time of the year. All the flowers are starting to bloom. <3"

"I see..." Eric gazed around, looking at everything as she pointed it out. He knelt and plucked a white flower from the ground and offered it to her, "Then you should keep one"

"OH NO!" She waved almost panickedly, "Maxillian, those are the provincial flower. " She took it from him and knelt down, "You're not suppose to pick them." Her fingers glowed and the flower mended itself. She got back up, "It's very sweet of you though." She said quickly after.

Eric blinked, "... O.o really? oh... sorry" he apologized awkwardly, "wait, you're a mutant?"

"Oh it's alright. You're new here." She looked up, wiping some dirt from her hands, "Hm? Oh, that? No no. I come from a long line of Magic Users... Ambrose family is pretty important in the magical world, I guess."

"Really?" Eric seemed intrigued, "I haven't met many magic users. How does that work exactly?" he asked, the scientist in him coming out a little.

"Umm..." She scratched her chin, "I just kinda... do it I guess? There's various type of magic users. Some use spells, other chant, others use magic circles but it's all using mana. Mana is the energy we use. It's in everything. Everything that exists has mana, even you." She poked his nose and walked a couple steps ahead of him.

Eric tilted his head and followed, "What is mana? Is that like the minor electrical energy a human gives off?"

"Mmmm kinda, not really. That's your aura. You can tell a lot about a person from their aura. If you're good enough at reading them, you can tell when a person is lying because the aura changes colour. But That's not really my field of expertise. I'm not very good at the whole aura reading thing."

"Can anyone learn magic?" he asked

"Hmmm... I guess to some degree anyone can do a little bit... But in order to be good at it, it depends on your bloodline-" Miss Ambrose paused as they walked past the red brick wall onto the school grounds. "Umm... who are you?" She asked a man raking some grass up.

"Oh. Mr. Tongs couldn't make it in today. He asked if I could fill in for him." She didn't stop staring at him, "Is something wrong?"

"...No. It's just... Mr. Tongs has never been sick before. I hope he's alright."

"Ah. I think he's got a stomach bug or something."

"Very well... carry on then, Mr.?"

"Mr. Blackton."

"... Mr. Blackton."

Eric paid the man no attention and moved on.

Miss Ambrose looked back one last time before showing Max into the Mass hall and sat down for breakfast.

Miss Ambrose then lead him up to the principal's office. No one was inside. "Would you like some tea?" She asked, pointing to one of the chairs. "I know the principal always like some in the morning.

"That would be lovely, thank you" he replied, glancing around, "where is the principle?"

"Just a few mins." She called back. A few mins past, the old grand father clock rang in the silence. Miss Ambrose walked in with a tray and handed him a cup. Then she walked around the desk and sat down. "Shall we get started?" She asked. Though the name on the name plate was clearly a man's and not hers.

Eric blinked, "... Ms. Ambrose?" he questioned uncertainly

"I am currently, ACTING principal at the school. Our current principal is away on business."

"Oh, I see" Eric smiled, "and where has he gone then?"

"That, I'm not really sure. He has some private business that needed his attention. So I'm covering for him. So I've looked at thee reference you gave him yesterday morning and you seem quite the teacher."
