Ceres looked up a little surprised and a tint of blush on her face, "F-for me?" Then she remembered the day Pietro was throwing out Eric's clothes and a twist formed in her gut, "...How's your father these days?" She'd been so worried about Loki she'd completely blanked on Eric... and she even had the nerve to call Pietro and not him. She was feeling worst by the second.

"Ah, well" Pietro rubbed the back of his head a little awkwardly, "He's alright... I didn't mention this little trip to him"

Ceres sat down on the sofa, "Gods he must hate me...." She hung her head, "So much happened. And. I just..."

Pietro put a hand on her knee for comfort, "He doesn't hate you... he just doesn't understand what happened. Nobody really does. You just freaked out one day and took off without a word."

She sighed, "My... soul gem,"She pointed it out, "It's giving off weird magic vibes or something... making people think they love me. After that wonderful date you set me up with, people started showing their affection and... Charles even tried to attack me," She wrapped her arms around herself just remembering it set chills up her spine. "I-I couldn't stay. Not when it was driving everyone mad. I'm safe here because there's so much magic, mine gets diluted."

Pietro blinked, he still seemed confused, "... I didn't hear anything about that. Baldy really attacked you?" he leaned forward, "man, I'm sorry."

"B-Baldy?" She looked at him funny, "Since when-" She got up as if something clicked, "OMG.OMG. No.nonononononoononono." Charles was really....reallly that man. Ceres held a hand to her mouth and rushed out of the room, heading for the bathroom. That mad man...how long had he been tricking her?

Pietro was ready to hit himself, "I-sorry-it's just a nickname" he chased after her, "it's not like that!"

Ceres threw up in the toilet, "nickname my ASS!" She looked horrified, "That's why he didn't mind Eric being a new teacher and why he's so good with the students who are mutants. He even kept the same first name...."

"I... but... it's more complicated than that," Pietro tried to explain.

"I think it is time for you to depart" Loki stood just behind Pietro, he gave the boy a smile but his voice held an element of danger to it.

The speedster swallowed anxiously and took half a step back, "It's just that... People don't know the whole story." Loki gave him a look, "okay! okay! I'm going, sorry" he squeaked and took off.

The god turned toward Ceres once Pietro was gone, "Are you unwell?"

Ceres looked up at Loki, tears silently rolling down her cheeks, "He's lied to me... All this time. I've been friends with a mad man. I even cared for him!"

"Ah, you've found me out, my apologies. I've been told I'm quite mad" Loki commented in jest as he sat on the edge of the tub next to her, "Who did this to you?"

Ceres rested her head on his legs, her hand holding tight to his pant leg, "Charles... The man at Cranewood. He's really Charles Xaiver... The mad man." She was trembling. "Gods, he's probably even been inside my head...I'm never going back to that place! Never."

Loki gently stroked her hair to sooth her, "That sounds terrible... I have no idea what you're talking about"

It had been a long time since someone had brushed her hair, it was very soothing and let her calm down a bit enough to talk properly. Ceres explained who Xavier was, "And...And I've been working with him for 5 years..."

Loki silently listened and gave a sigh, "Humans... they can be so very misguided. I never really understood how one realm could be so divided against itself."

"Earth is one of the most complex systems we ever made as creators. So many layers and clogs in the machine... I'm surprised it didn't just implode on itself." She sniffed, taking some tissues and cleaning herself up. "Heavens, what a day... Yesterday was so nice and then this bomb shell falls onto my lap.... Thank you for listening."

"Perhaps we should do something about it then?" Loki suggested, "Complexity is one of my specialties. Between the two of us, we could bring Midgaurd to order"

Ceres smiled, "You just want to be Emperor of the world." She said, splashing some cold water on her face in the sink to help reduce her puffy eyes.

"Would it be so wrong?" he asked, standing by her, "I've been taught how to become a King my entire life. I could end this world's hunger, humans speak of world peace as something to strive for but ultimately achievable. I could bring Midgaurd into peace with itself as well with the other eight realms."

"Hmmm, well." She turned to face him, "I like where your mind's headed but are you sure it's really the humans you want to help and not a way to invade Asgrad?" She asked sweetly.

"The thought is tempting" Loki admitted, "but the humans wouldn't stand a chance against an army of Asgardians. It would be foolish to even attempt such a thing and I am no fool. In truth this is more than that. Midgaurd is one of the nine realms and yet it has been left to rot for thousands of years. Odin deemed it 'good enough' when he was last here and though to us it was as though days ago he does not fully understand what that means to humans. Their lives are but a breath to ours and that... that changes everything. They way they think, the way they act and most importantly the way they learn.

Every generation has to be taught the same things, over and over or it becomes irrelevant to them. Too few heed the works of their ancestors while the rest disregard them. And now that humans are reaching out beyond their own realm with no guide, they pose a threat that Odin won't even consider.

"They are self destructive and they tear down and attack what they do not understand, leaving ruin in their wake. How much of this planet, their only home, has been destroyed from their own doing?" he was clearly annoyed, how could no one else see it? Or if they did, then how could it be simply ignored? "Midgaurd has become such a blemish upon the nine realms it is now considered worthy placement for a prison sentence."

"For those of us who spend more than a generation here, we have tried to make things better. But like you said, every generation learns the same things but most block it out..." She couldn't help but smile, "I suppose since you are to spend so much time here, we should give you something to focus your time on..."

Loki smiled, he'd been practicing, "My thoughts as well. We may as well make something good of this."

"I suppose you need to ensure the planet doesn't go to crap while you're on it. Also, try again." She patted him on the chest before heading down the hall.
