"I dunno.. I wasn't really thinking back then. I wasn't thinking. I was just so excited for you and...I...sorry..." She looked down, rubbing her arm. "But you were right... I do get away with a lot and everything does seem to go my way... Maybe I was hoping some of my good luck would rub off on you." She looked up behind her bangs.

"That would be hoping for too much" Pietro replied bluntly, "The only luck I get is the bad kind and no matter how far and fast I run, it's the only thing I can't get away from. You're wasting your time, I don't give a shit what my father wants I'm not going back to Genosha. I'll take my chances out here, at least it makes sense for the homo-sapiens to hate me. That's one thing I can count on them for and they've never let me down. It's when you start thinking someone's a decent person that they disappoint you."

"No one hates you Pietro. No one is mad at you. No one is forcing you to do anything. We were just worried. Your dad was worried. I was worried." She wrapped her arms around him from behind and held him.

"I'm sorry I let you down... I won't make you come back to Genosha but I wish you would." She chuckled remembering a moment, "I remember when I was little, running away from the mansion, a little Sesame Street backpack on my back. I ended up in a park near by. I don't know how long I sat on that swing but I do remember a boy with white hair that wandered over. And before long, he cheered me up and made everything better.... I wish I could have returned the favour.

The white haired boy hesitated a moment, thinking, "what happened that day?" he asked

((Flashback? In which case, I think Pietro should have been in the car way too long so Eric was like "Go play" and then Pietro goes and trys to play a prank on Ciara to scare her but she'd not scared. :p))

((Eeehh... you can just go ahead and make something up. I don't really wanna do a flashback))

((Okie Dokie))

She smiled warmly, "Well... I was sitting on the swing when suddenly a mini tornado came through the empty park. Then it started circling the swing set I was on. Then suddenly it stopped and the boy appeared infront of me and yelled, BOO. I guess he was trying to scare me. But I remembered I jumped off the swing and pushed him and with my hands on my hips, I told him That trying to scare me wasn't very nice...."

The boy looked surprised, "You're... You're not scared of me?"
Little Ciara tilted her head to the side, "Why would I be?"
The boy rubbed the back of his head, "...Wanna play?"
"Ok!"
The two of them played for several hours.

"Faster faster!" She yelled as Pietro zoomed her around. Giggling all the way.

"Droplet." "Pietro, Time to go."

The two of them slowed down and looked at each other.

"I gotta go." Pietro said but clearly didn't want to.
"Me too...It was fun playing with you." She kissed his cheek, "Bye Speedy!"

"Seriously?" Pietro turned sharply and stared at Ciara, "that was you? I swear that was the only day my dad didn't bitch at me for playing in public with my powers. I never understood why before"

((You know what would be funny. If a good chuck of Genosha KNEW Pietro made their clothes but acted like he didn't cause he was being so secretive about it. Or Eric told them to. :p))

Ciara smiled, blushing lightly, " I had no idea who's son you were but I kept coming back to that playground every couple of days to see if you'd come back... Why do you think I had a crush on you in High School? Because I knew you were that little boy who had brighten my day."

Pietro actually blushed slightly before hiding behind that old high school arrogant grin, "What? Not my dashing good looks?" he feigned insult, "Or my sparkling personality. I'll have you know my hair itself is worth falling in love with"

Ciara laughed, pushing him, "Oh yes. I remember I had a whole shrine dedicated just to your hair. And don't get me STARTED on the shoe shine. I would spend hours writting and dreaming up stories of romance dates with your hair."

"I knew it" Pietro ran a hand over his slicked back hair, he paused a moment however and took a step back from her, "oh no you don't. I'm not forgiving you that easily." he waggled his finger in her face, "You completely betrayed my trust. According to the Book of Brotherhood, page 4, section C I have the right to kick you out of the group for this."

She put her hand over his waggling finger and held his hand, "I don't expect you to forgive me so easily, Pietro. I just want you to know that I care...a lot... People make mistakes all the time, don't I get a second chance?" She asked, looking up into his eyes.

"Hmf" Pietro turned aside and crossed his arms, "I never have, why should you? There is no second chance for me with this. No way of going back to how things were-and things were good. Finally, actually, pretty awesome actually. More awesome than I've ever had it before. How can I go back when I know everybody's going to be looking at me differently? It's elementary school all over again" he closed his eyes, breathing deeply, "Mocking, pity, disgust, I've seen enough of that pointed at me in my life and that was just because everybody thought I gay, then the whole mutant crap came out and it got worse but hey, at least I had my bros to back me up then. Now I'm the freak of the freak show."

Ciara felt terrible as he continued, rubbing her arm. "How do you know everyone is going to look at your differently? You didn't even stay to find out." She said softly.

"And you're not the only one who's been judged upon your origins. We've all been mocked, pitted, looked on with disgust... How do you think it was like for me, growing up in a house of mutants when I appeared to have none?... And even IF you happened to be gay, I know I wouldn't look at you differently. Pietro, even though I've hurt you. I do care for you. And I know my words can't fix what has been done but, I am truly sorry..." She turned to leave, "Just...just remember to check in every now and then ok?" She said looking back toward him, a saddened expression on her face.

"I've forgiven you countless times and yet you can't forgive me once..." She knew she couldn't force him nor did she expect him to forgive her so soon. But hopefully in time... "bye speedy..." She mumbled.

Pietro nodded slightly, glancing back at her he sighed, "I will and... thanks for not telling anybody what happened."

She smiled lightly, trying to hid the hurt she was feeling, " It's the least I could do..." She headed off slowly, getting on the communicator, "Everyone back to the jet. We're going back to Genosha. Pietro is staying..."

"What?" Kurt exclaimed, "we came all this way for nothing?"
"Is everything okay?" Scott questioned.
"RAAAAARRRGGG" Logan yelled as Sabertooth hurled him through a tree and barreling into Ciara.

"Everything is- OUFF" Ciara lose her balance and toppled over with Logan on top. "Are you two done yet?" She asked tapping the ground.

((COME ON PIETRO! She's forgiven you a MILLION times and you can't forgive her once? GAH))

((Hey, the speedster has always had trust issues))

"uhg" Logan grunted while a rather nasty wound across his face began to heal up, "He's the one who ain't leaving without Quicksilver. Ask him." he pulled himself to his feet and offered Ciara a hand up.

Ciara took his hand and patted herself down. An unusual amount of determination and pure don't mess with me I'm a woman came across her face.

She marched up to Sabertooth, stopping several feet away as he got ready to attack again. She looked him straight in the eyes, "VIC. That's enough." She boomed, not flinching upon his approach, nor breaking eye contact.

Sabertooth had raised his clawed hand to attack but as Ciara spoke he stopped. Eyeing her a moment he lowered his hand and let out a low rumbling growl.

"Don't you growl at me." She said, pointing a finger. "Now, Pietro has made his choice and you WILL respect it and go back to Genosha. Do I make myself clear?" She said, coming up to his eye level with a plate of water at her feet.

His eyes narrowed on her and he took a step closer, "Yer not my boss" he growled in reply.

"... $500 says otherwise."
