"I have had too many people turn on me" Freeze replied, "and thus setting me back months of research. It is no longer worth the risk."

He listened to the story, nodding thoughtfully, "it isn't too hard to believe. They've been looking for some reason to leave Gotham to die."

"So they planned an evacuation of all 'their' citizens. Anyone who couldn't prove they weren't here illegally weren't allow to cross the bridges... They took several of the prisoners of Black gate and some of the patients from Arkham Asylum but no one wanted to take people like the Joker, Black Mask, etc. So at midnight, they blew up all the bridges, cut the power, and placed water mines in the water to keep anyone from leaving. I was planning on leaving to Washington, in hopes to get them to change their minds about the whole disowning Gotham but the Joker and his thugs jumped me and by the time I came around... It was too late. Now Gotham is off limits, no one comes in or out, and it's a no fly zone as well...." She sighed.

"Hmm, that is unfortunate" Freeze frowned, "I'm going to have to start looking for an alternate power source..."

"Why? You running low? It's too bad you're all the way down here, I mean you could use solar panels or something if you weren't so far down."

"Hm. And where would I manage to get a hold of solar panels in Gotham?" Freeze questioned, "we're cut off from the outside, as you said, and by now anything of value towards creating power has been stripped. Had I known of this earlier I could have reduced my power usage but as it stands now I have only a few more weeks." he sighed and began putting the missing parts of his suit in place before going to the computer and shutting down the power to the air conditioner.
"If I only use the suit then I can save the energy for her stasis chamber..." he mumbled to himself, "harder to work in but... yes." he doubled checked a secured cabinet, counting the vials of light blue liquid within as he switched out the nearly empty one in his suit.

"Well in Wayne Tower of course. No one has really touched it since the earthquake happened. I remember reading in an article that Wayne Enterprise was turning their roofs into Solar farms, to help support alternative energy. And that was several months before the earthquake!" She said jumping up off the gurney.

"Hm, are you sure they haven't been taken already?" Freeze questioned, turning to look at her again, "and lay back down!" he ordered

She frowned laying back down, "Well, yeah. It's in our turf after all. We've already rounded up enough to keep the hospital and a couple of the most important things lit up... If you want we could go check it out after."

Freeze walked back over and checked the bag of blood, it was filled so he removed it carefully and then attached a second one to keep going.

"Hey. I thought you were only taking one pint from me for now."

"I'm sorry but something has come up" Freeze replied, placing a hand cautiously on his ice gun if she began to resist, "You've been quite helpful but there have been a few complications. I need more."

"...Like?" She asked, not really resisting, only sitting up.

"Three pints" he replied stiffly, "today."

"...th-THREE?! Now you're being unreasonable. Normally I won't object but I have a bunch of people who are depending on me and I can't do my job if I'm down more pints of blood. I already gave Nightwing a couple of them already. Do you know how much energy it takes up carrying all that water?!"

Freeze immediately aimed his gun at her, "I gave you the nutrients to build up your supply last time. The human body can withstand a drastic amount of blood loss if it is taken slowly, there's a decent chance you will survive and I will do what I can to ensure that but I need your donation Ms. McCoy. She needs it, and from what I've been hearing from you, I doubt I will find another with her rare blood type in this desolate city."

Ciara looked at the gun and then at him, "Remember all those people who you said you worked with and then betrayed you... You're doing the exact same thing. You're being irrational and a big Liar pants!" She crossed her arms as the blood seemed to stop going through the IV. As if Ciara was willing her blood to stop leaving her body.

His eyes strayed to the IV in confusion, "What are you doing? Don't you understand? She needs it! She could die."

"So could I!" She took a deep breath, "Mr. Freeze calm down. If you take too much of my blood now and I die what will happen if your wife needs more blood in the future?" She questioned.

"If you die then I can take the rest of yours and freeze it for future use" he replied, "but as I said, I would do everything I could to avoid that. I can't deny what she needs right now though."

"And WHY does she need more now all of a sudden?! You seemed fine with taking a pint here and there..." Her hand very close to pushing the bat buckle.

"... I didn't think the earthquake had affected me here" Freeze replied with a sigh, "I didn't even notice it. But then last time you were you mentioned it and I did a full systems check. Her life support was damaged, some of the minor vibrations had gotten through and they rattled my older systems. I thought it was just a minor mistake, nothing a couple of small transfusions couldn't fix but she's begun to thaw. She's been slowly dying again for the past few weeks and I hadn't even known..." he swallowed hard, a rather devastated look on his face as he refocused his gaze on Ciara, "She needs a major blood transfusion before I can fully put her under again. If she doesn't get it soon, she will die. Please. Help me." he begged as a tear froze on his cheek.

Ciara looked at him for a moment before laying back down, "That's all you had to say, Mr. Freeze. Was that so hard?" She asked as the blood began to flow again. "I'm sure I'll manage somehow..."

He stared at her, somewhat amazed in disbelief as he slowly lowered the gun. "you... will?"

"Of course." She smiled. " If you had just explained to me the situation, we won't have wasted so much time... It's was the bat buckle again wasn't it?"

"... here. Eat." Freeze offered her an energy bar, "you'll need to keep up your strength."
