"Head home." Megan stated, turning the ship around.
"Maybe our mystery girl has something to do with it." Artemis commented.

"But still" KF came over to look at her, "that's not exactly logical either. Why did she suddenly stop once we showed up?"

"We're going to have to run some tests when we get back"

Once back at the Cave, they put some proper clothes on her as Red Tornado ran some tests.

"So the whirlpool stopped once you got there?"
"Yes."
"Interesting."

She was human, perfectly human in fact and in perfect health to but for some reason she wasn't waking up-at least, she didn't wake up until the middle of the night two days later.

the mysterious girl wandered into the main room, looking around rather uncertain of her surroundings.

"Oh, you're awake." Megan said, hovering a bit above the girl. "How do you feel?" Megan had been going to the bathroom when she noticed someone wandering around.

She startled and turned sharply and began speaking in a language that was definitely not English.

"Oh, hold on." Megan closed her eyes, linking their minds up so they could understand each other. "Can you understand me now?"

"Yes... what did you do?" she questioned.

"I linked our minds. So we're both speaking different languages but our brains here the language we're familiar with. Oh and don't worry. You're safe here. How did you end up in a Whirlpool?"

"The whirlpool..." she repeated, "The water, swirling and swirling-and I was flying-or falling? All I remember is fear, confusion, everything spinning out of control. I was one thing, now I'm another" she looked down at her hands, staring at them as though she could hardly believe they were real, "I am common, real-I am confusing you" she stopped, turning her eyes back to Megan, "please don't be confused, I only just calmed down now" she added sounding a little panicked as her feet suddenly began to lift off the ground.

"It's ok. We were a bit puzzled when we found you. How about something to drink?" She asked taking her hand and floating them both into the kitchen. "You've been out for a couple of days."

"Days?" she smiled, "days and nights, that's exciting. What do they look like?"

Megan paused, "You've never seen nights or days?... Where are you from anyways?"

"Everywhere" she replied, running her hand along the counter before hopping up to sit on it. She stared at her legs as they dangled below her, "on Earth that is. I'm not sure about other planets. I sort of know of them, but people haven't really started learning anything until a few years ago and my knowledge only comes from what most people know-but I've never gotten to experience these things myself. I've never had the ability to before now" she looked up at Megan again, "I'm still being confusing, aren't I? I'm sorry. It's difficult to explain with words..."

"That's alright. I'm Megan. I'm from the planet Mars. I'm a green martin. Well, if you can't explain in words perhaps you could show me? I could pop into your head and you could show me... That is, if it's alright with you." Megan set a glass of water beside the girl and hopped onto the counter herself.

"water" she picked up the glass, staring at it, "There was a lot of water when I appeared... water everywhere..." she nodded to Megan, "Yes, it would be better to show you..."

"Alright. Just relax and focus on what you want me to see." She said placing a hand on the side of her head, her eyes glowing as she adventured further into the girl's mind.

Water, at first, there was only water everywhere but it was more than that. There were creatures in the water, swimming, gliding, playing and more than that even, there was emotion. Joy, carefree happiness.
Then there was land, different creatures, survival and fear but also discovery and beauty. Beasts that were now known to be extinct were roaming the surface of the world. It wasn't quite the same as seeing all these things however but more of feeling and knowing the truth of them.
As time went on, things began to become more clear, more focused on mankind and their evolution. There were more complex and conflicting emotions as people fought and became friends, as they hated and as they loved one another. Every little emotion echoed through her existence, creating her spirit and strengthening her consciousness as they ages passed by. Every emotion flowed from one to another, creating it's own sort of energy that wrapped around the planet. It was always the same amount of power though, like water flowing from ocean to another but never becoming more or less as a whole.
Finally there was one powerful spark, so brief and so strong that it ripped the girl straight into corporeal existence. No longer was she just pure emotion floating across the world but the sun shone brightly above her, warming her new skin and blinding her new eyes. It took a moment before she realized she was falling and to see the ground suddenly becoming a thing to fear her body began to lift itself up into the air and take off out of control. The world looked like it was spinning wildly, time began to blur until suddenly she ran into something-Megan's bio-ship-and she passed out.

It took some time to figure out but eventually the truth began to clear. This girl was the embodiment of the world's emotions brought to life.

"...So she's like the spirit of the Earth?" Artemis asked, not quite understanding it herself.
"A most interesting story." Aqua Lad commented. It was early in the morning when they all gathered and learned of the girl's origin.

"Hello Megan. That means your birthday was a couple of days ago! We should throw you a birthday party."

Red Tornado interjected, "As you have no ties to anywhere. May I suggest you stay here with us. There is plenty of room in the cave."

"You can come to school with Conner and I!" She grinned happily.

"Perhaps, but given the facts she does not know much of the world. It would be happy to tutor you so that others don't see you as strange for not knowing things."

Artemis looked at her, arms crossed, "So... what's your name?"

She looked around at all of them, "um... I don't have a name."

"oooo, naming time" Kid Flash jumped in, "How about, Tessa? Kayla? Lukisha? Shakiraaaaaaa"

"Oh Names! Dove, Anima, May, Jessica, Emily..." Megan began naming off random names.

Red Torando suggested a name," As you were born from the flow of emotions how about the name,
Oormi?"

"I don't really care what my name should be" she replied, "I just wish I knew where that spark came from-the one that brought me to life. There has never been such a thing since the birth of the world itself. It was pure, strong, a piece of a new beginning like the very first emotion that brings life to all others. It was pure hope, and I wish I knew where it came from."

"We'll help you figure it out." Aqua Lad put a hand on her shoulder, "But in the meantime, it would be helpful to us if we had a name to call you by."

"Thank you. I like the way it feels here" she smiled, "your friendship is so warm."

"How about Hope?" Superboy asked gruffly, "if it's apparently the base of all emotion or whatever."

"Well when you pick a name let me know, I'm late for school." Artemis commented heading toward the portal.
