X-Men: Great Minds Think Alike

Charles and Eric realize that fighting over something that started up thirty years ago wasn't worth it anymore. But, can the two of them come together to bring peace to the human world? And can Eric truly drop the subject after remembering the one he killed years ago because that man killed his mother in front of him? Find out in the next episode. Great Minds Think Alike.

It was early morning at the Xavier Institute For Gifted Youngsters. Charles, hadn't been able to sleep so he sits in his study. He is remembering. His mind keeps going back to the beach, to the bullet that severed his spine. To Erik holding him. He wished, not for the first time, that they could go back to before that time. To the training. They had been close then. They were close now, it's true, but it just wasn't the same. No matter how close they were, it would never be the same again.

Eric lay in his room within the mansion, he had just joined up with Charles thinking it would be a good idea, there were still mutants out there that didn't believe in peace with humans, but, only time would heal. Eric kept thinking about the things in the past that happened, things like when they started recruiting others, the two weren't that old right now, probably in their 40s, it was 20-30 years ago when everything between them became dense. In other words it didn't really go that well.

Eric got up, he had slept a little, but, ever since moving into the mansion he couldn't stop remembering the times...

"We'll show you ours if you show us yours" younger Charles spoke "That is not the way it works around here" Angel said as Eric goes "More Tea Charles?" Eric asks using his powers to lift the metal bowl with ice and wine he he picked up the wine bottle pouring more for Charles. And returning everything back to the way it was before.

Charles talks to Eric "You see that?" Charles is pointing to a giant satellite dish a few miles away from them. Charles began and said "Try turning it to face us." Erik puts his hands up and tries using his power to turn the dish but fails. Charles continues to talk "You know, I believe that true focus lies somewhere between rage and serenity. Would you mind if I...?" Charles is talking about getting inside Eric's head.

Charles remembers touching Eric's mind, when they had first started out. That memory floated to his mind. A young Erik lighting the Menorah with his mother. Even after all these years tears slide down his cheeks. He is very glad to have his old friend back, he was just saddened by how different things were between them. He decides to do one of his mental scans of the institute to make sure everything was well. He let his mind go and soon it brushes against Erik's. He wonders what his friend is doing up but keeps moving on, not wanting to intrude.

'Charles' Eric gave a mental note to his friend in another room, even though, they were three doors away and on opposite sides of the hallway. Eric didn't yet want to get up, though he could have flew down there, but, didn't feel like it and all of his metal was across the room.

'I didn't mean to disturb you.' He sends back with a mental smile. He heads to his friends room. The urge to be near his old friend had come on strong. He knocks lightly on Erik's door. He wonders if his friend will let him enter. He had spent a lot of time by himself since returning to him.

Eric knew there was metal in the door so with a wave of his hand he opened the door "You can come in anytime, you don't have to ask Charles" Eric spoke as he sat in a rather large, comfortable chair and a book on his lap, he was faced towards the window, it was stormy weather outside. 'What is it?' he asked nicely through telepathy. At least with telepathy, no one could interrupt their conversation or know what they were talking about. 'And you didn't disturb me moments ago'

'I just... I just needed to be with you.' He sends. Erik had told him any number of times he could come in whenever and still Charles knocked. He ran his fingers through his hair. He has wheeled himself into Erik's room. He looks around taking all things in. 'What are you reading?' He wheels closer to his friend. His body yearns to be held but he keeps his emotions in check.

(Charles has hair? lol I take it this is before the dude goes bald for some reason lol, works for me, I like guys with hair on their head, not bald lol)

'Oh just Mockingbird, I figured the classics aren't a bad thing to read up on now that I have the time' Eric smiled a little bit putting his book mark in place and closing it to the cover which read the title. 'I figured you were thinking when I tried contacting you before you found my mind wandering just moments ago, what were you thinking about?' Eric asked.

(Depends on the guy but I wanted him with hair.)

'Oh not much. Just how things have changed, and the past.' He said smiling at his friend. 'Us." He sends this last part rather softly. Was there really an us for him to be thinking about. At one point in their past, perhaps, but now, he just wasn't so sure anymore. He wanted there to be an us. He very much wanted that, but he wasn't sure Erik's thought on that.

(lol he looks better that way, the only non-hair person I could consider okay or cool is the Rock or Vin Diesel but im used to those to in movies)

'Did you just say 'us' Charles?' Erik asked wondering if maybe he had heard wrong or something. The weather was stormy outside, it was getting worse, but, it seemed that neither of them were paying any attention to it. The moment was silent, Charles has in the past thought about him that way, even with Raven/Mystique being around.

(Patrick Stewart is sexy with out hair. Did you know he was bald at age 12.)

Charles hesitates, he briefly debates about lying to his friend, but decides against it. 'Yes.' He looks down at his hands unable to meet Erik's eyes. A light blush is on his cheeks, and he doesn't know why. Why did he feel this way.

(Yea he isn't that bad, I can't believe I had to Google that lol)

Erik was silent for a bit, his eyes never showed what he was thinking except whenever he would get mad. Though right now his eyes probably looked more blank than ever. Erik wanted to go into his friend's mind and see why he said that, but, a part of him told him he didn't really need to. Erik changed the conversation, though their was part of him that wanted to understand more about his friend, 'Did you hear about Mystique? She still tries to get mutants to her side'

'Yes, I've heard, I had hoped she would have come with you. I miss her.' Not for the first time in his life, does Charles wish he could walk. If he had been able to he would have walked over and kissed Erik. He would have wrapped his arms around Erik's neck and would have sat on his lap. But he couldn't do that. He was stuck in this wheel chair. He lets out a soft sigh.

'She hasn't been the same since I hardly give her attention anymore before coming here, but, you know how she is' Erik said 'Have you ever wondered what it would be like to fly Charles?' Erik asked remembering he could fly with a slight use of metal around or not him, he was pretty god at that alone.

'I miss her Erik. We might not have been related by blood, but she was and always will be.' His send is sad. There is a pause as he ponders Erik's question. 'I used too.' Is all he says.

Erik stands up, metal clinging to his body very lightly and unable to be seen, he holds out his hand waiting for Charles to see if he would take his hand or not. He wouldn't mind doing the work when it would come to them using powers. Charles never got the chance to experience flight, actual flight, without Erik thinking about it though, this would be a somewhat romantic experience for both.

Charles hesitates, then takes his friend's hand. He trusts him, more then he probably should. He wonders what Erik has in mind.

Erik keeps Charles pressed against him to support Charles. He opened the large double window doors and lifted them both off of the ground and into the sky slowly. Too quickly could've caused a panic or made the other sick with him not being used to flying just yet. Soon they were above the town, almost higher, but, Erik was keeping a height level.

(so that means he picked him up out of his wheel chair I'm going to assume.)

Charles gasps when Erik took off. He puts his arms around Erik's neck. He hadn't known his friend knew how to use his powers to fly. It seems there was much he didn't know. Once he was used to it he just takes in the sights. He lays his head on Erik's shoulder.

(Of Course, I'll try to be a bit more descriptive)

Erik keeps his arm around Charles waist and asks mentally 'So what do you think?' it wasn't that cool out in the storm, quite windy so they couldn't stay out too long and the fact that if it started to lighting at all, they would have to go in since Erik had metal throughout the outside part of his body.

(It's alright. I do that to sometimes. I see it in my head but don't put it in my words.)

'This is amazing. I had no idea you could do this.' He says sending a smile to his friend. 'Though I question the sanity of flying in a storm.' He sends a chuckle. Though he trust his friend. 'We'll have to do this sometime when it isn't storming.'

Erik laughs to the fact of what Charles has said and thought to him as the wind picked up and lighting lit the sky 'I do think its time to get back and yes we should do this when it's not storming' Erik added another thought to Charles 'I'll do anything for you...to make up the past mistakes I have made' he was talking about doing anything for his best friend, especially after the event that took away his legs and hit his spine. Erik took them back slowly, too quickly and they would be a conductor for lighting. Once back in the window doors closed and Erik had yet to put Charles back in his wheelchair, but, stood close to it. 'I am glad you liked it' they were so close, Erik almost gave himself away earlier when he said he would do anything for Charles, he couldn't tell his best friend that he liked him in a way like that.

'We have both made mistakes in life.' He says. 'You owe me nothing.' Though he wants to ask Erik to love him. To be his boyfriend, but he was sure Erik wouldn't feel the same. But at the same time, he had to know. He leans in and kisses his friend fully on the lips.

(I was wondering how the response would go)

Erik hears what Charles says and feels his friend's lips pressed against his. Erik almost pushed Charles away, but, he couldn't, he didn't want to. Erik was at lost for words and even more at lost for thoughts. Erik decided to ignore anything telling him not to and go fully with his instincts. Thunder crashed outside as the cold rain poured down from the dark and stormy clouds, lighting flashing and taking the power from all lights making the power go out. Erik returned the kiss, he thought he could tell a taste upon the other's lips, he thought it was a sweet taste. The moment felt too good to give up, but, they both would need air soon and so Erik pulled away after awhile. He hadn't noticed that they were floating inches off of the ground.
