Merik paused, cutting up a beet, and lifted his eyebrow at the angel. "Something else? Here...mix the fruits. These are for the horses..." He nodded to the beets. "We'll be crushing some peppermints and adding both of these to their feed, okay?" He stepped over, pausing to kiss the male deeply, and taking the knife from him.

He turned to the meat, starting to carve it with ease.

Kai was so glad that the other let him do something else. The last thing that he wanted to do was get violently sick from having to cut up another once living animal. It was against everything that made him an angel, and then some. "Thank you," muttered Kai as he let a small smile grace his features. He was truly grateful to the other male. He found himself nodding his head liking the idea of mixing a bunch of fruit and adding mint, things that he could eat as well, to bowls. His eyes widened though when he felt the other's lips on his own. Leaning forward a little bit he wanted to relish the taste that was uniquely Merik, but all too soon the kiss was done which left Kai wanting more. Shaking his head he began the task at hand with mixing and cutting the fruits and vegetables together in the various bowls. This was a lot better indeed.

Eventually, the job was done, and Merik whistled happily, glancing at the angel. "Would I be able to trust you enough to go hunting with me?" He questioned, motioning for the boy to lift a few bowls and follow him. He started to the barns first.

(Sorry it's short.)

Hunting? More like collecting more magical creatures. He knew that the other wasn't talking about hunting animals, or fruit, since you didn't hunt fruit. He knew that he didn't mean animals because there was no way that the other would be able to get enough meat to sustain all the animals that he had been keeping. So that only left one thing. Hunting other magical creatures. "I refuse," yelled Kai as he put the bowls down that he had just been carrying. "Why would I do that? They might not be my brother's, but they still deserve to roam free." As he continued to glare at the other, he felt a renewed fire in him begin to burn. His rebellious self was back, and with a vengeance.

Merik turned as well, dropping his own bowls nearby inside of a wheelbarrow. "You will do that." Merik corrected him, "Because your master wishes you to. Most of the animals here are actually very happy, Kai. Just because you are taking some time to, doesn't mean they all do...Here...come see..." The male turned and moved a few stalls down, nodding to the inside.

Inside was a leucrocuta, the fat mare standing over a foal, laying down. They both looked up as Merik peered into the stall. The colt raised itself on wobbly legs, and the mare went back to eating her hay. The colt croaked and grumbled out a bit, before diving behind it's mother. "If these creatures were unhappy, would they be reproducing?"

Kai looked towards the other male clearly feeling the anger that he had caused radiate off of the other. He found a somewhat little triumph in himself when he knew that he was the one that had caused that. Kai narrowed his eyes though when he heard Merik say that he would be helping regardless of his own feelings on the matter. He listened to what Merik said as he walked behind the other as he looked towards the stall that the other had motioned to. Inside there was a rather large looking horse creature with a rather large, scary looking mouth, but what intrigued him the most was that there was a smaller version of it laying on the ground in the cage. Raising an eyebrow he wondered how this was even possible. How could magical creatures be happy here. He then thought of the time that Merik and him had done things together as well, and that brought a blush to his face. It was true that the other had enjoyed it, but that was carnal need. Right?

Kai opened and closed his mouth as he tried to will speech to come to him. He didn't know what to say. He then thought about what the other had said more in depth. Re-producing? That meant having babies. Did angels do that? Could angels do that? Was he expected to do that, had he been with Sage still. Was he able to? As he thought of this he flushed an even more deeper red as he turned his head to look at the ground as he kicked at the dirt floor of the barn.

Merik reached through, stroking the badger face the creature had. He left it be after a while, moving back to the bowls. Some of the horses were fed normal feed, some just fruits, and a few were fed meat. Soon, the bowls were empty, and Merik pointed to Kai, then to the bowls, carrying his own load. The intent was clear: Pick them up and follow. It seemed, however, that the human was still angry, and was refusing to speak to the male.

Kai watched as he fed the various animals. He found himself eyeing the fruit that some of the animals were eating, and he licked his lips. He didn't really know why, he had eaten already after all. He saw a bunch of grapes in one of the bowls and he imagined the other male feeding him. Shaking his head he mentally slapped himself banishing those feelings and thoughts to the back of his mind, where he prayed that they would stay buried. He eyed the other as he saw Merik motion for him to follow after him. Picking up his bowls from the floor he followed after the other eager to see what other animals were there, so he could find a way to release them all when he made his own escape.

Merik brought them back to the kitchen, and gathered one of the bowls with the insides of a cow. He gathered the bowls together, handing Kai a few. He led the boy to the large indoor pool. Inside was a salt water system, instead of the normal chlorine systems in regular pools. The bottom was coated with heavy sand, and kelp grew out, waving in the currents created with small jets. Inside, with various colored tails, swam males and females. Their top halves were humans, and their bottoms were like various sea creatures. Dolphins, sharks, and there was even an octopus.

Merik set the bowls down, staying away from the edge. The beautiful creature moved nearby, watching him under the water. Once he began dropping in tidbits of food, tossing it, the water swarmed with activity, the fish fighting each other for the food. They almost seemed to change, instead of being beautiful, they looked pure evil, with shape jagged teeth, there large finned ears covered with a membrane standing out from their heads. There hand turned into jagged points. When they jumped at the pools edge, reaching for the two males, their shrieks filled the large room, echoing.

((Sweet god -stares- demon mer-things))

Kai followed Merik back into the kitchen as he watched the other grab some more bowls from the counter that was there. "How many animals does he have?" thought Kai with a bit of amusement and less of a thought of disgust. He grabbed a hold of the bowls that he was given and soon the two of them were out walking again, but this time they went into a building that looked to be an indoor pool of sorts. The air was damp, and it smelled of the sea. He eyed the ripples in the water and saw that there were tailed animals swimming around in the water. He had heard about mermaids and mer-creatures, but he had never seen one before in his lifetime. He glanced at Merik as he watched the other begin dropped the bits of the food into the water. The meat was still bloody and as it hit the water it began to move the scent in the natural current of the water. As if on cue the water became alive with the splashes and screams of the animals that were there. The shrieks made Kai clamp his hands over his ears and shut his eyes tightly. After a few moments he opened them only to see that the creatures were reaching towards them with their scaly, clawed hands. Without even thinking he threw up an easy magical barrier and projected it outwards blocking the creatures from harming the two of them. He knew that he was protecting Merik, but right now his own thoughts were for his own self preservation.

(Hehe. Yeah, everyone pictures them as beautiful serene creatures. I wanted to mix it up.)

Merik went to toss a choice piece of liver into the water, but it flopped into a barrier, and dropped to the ground. The male watched it slid down with a rather confused expression. Soon, however, it turned to one of amusement, and he glanced towards Kai. "You are doing that? Good to know...but they can't reach us...put this thing down so I can finish feeding them, alright?" His emerald eyes moved to the water, a bit sadly. "Other than you, these beings are the least likely to settle down. Oh, they breed here too, but they usually kill the babes. There's no way I can get them out before they do. They don't take any kindness from me either."

Kai watched in amusement as a grin began to spread across his features. However, he looked at the other hearing the direct order. He lowered the barrier and then thought hard on what the other had said. Kill their own children? Destroy life? These creatures were not beautiful or serene, they were demons in the guise of something near angelic. He hated these things, and wanted to leave as soon as possible. He also didn't like how he was grouped into a category with these things either. He felt that even more now that he needed to prove that he could be docile as well. Not to mention that would aide him in his escape later since he would be able to get the other male to trust him. "I'm sorry," he managed to mutter out, but then again if they had babies, and they were allowed to live then that would mean that there would be more beautiful albeit deadly demon mermaids.

Merik just shrugged the apolgy off, tossing the rest of the meat into the pond. "That's all the animals that need a second feeding, minus you and Sage. I'll do his. You can start on washing the dishes, alright?" Merik questioned, once again picking up the giant bowls and stacking them in his arms.

He started back through the house, glancing at the angel. "Tell me about Heaven." He demanded.

Kai followed after the other as the two of them made their way back to the main manor home. Merik's demand had caught him off guard, and it made him feel sad after that. Talking about Heaven was a bitter sweet topic for him, more on the bitter side now. Then again, scratch that Merik had opened his sheltered world to new things. Had he still been in Heaven he would have been magically tied to Sage for the remainder of his remaining days, and he would never be allowed to leave Heaven without an escort, which would have probably been Sage and possibly a few other angels as well. Tell him about Heaven where to begin. "Well," said Kai as he ended up walking next to the other. "As you know it's my home. The buildings are pristine white and made of marble, and there are trees, and flowers growing everywhere. There is also natural flowing water. It's truly a paradise." It was indeed bittersweet to talk about this. Sure, he wanted to go home, but he also wanted to stay here because if he stayed here he would at least have some form of "temporary" freedom.

Merik rolled his eyes. "That's all the typical things about heaven...Who built the buildings? Is it crowded? Are there really pearly gates? I want answers to all the unanswered questions." He stated simply, setting the bowls on the counter, before moving to empty hot water into the sink.

Kai looked towards the other as he tried to figure out what to say. He didn't know this kind of information. At least not about the who built the buildings. "Well," he started. "We do have the pearly gates. They mainly keep us in, and bad things out, but mostly they keep us in." He thought about it for a moment. It was like a glorified bird cage. They were only allowed to leave if it was a dire emergency on the mortal plain or if they were going down to Earth to help their other angelic friends, like Sage had done for him, even though it was against the wishes of the elders. Crowded. Kai had never actually thought about it. Sure when good people died the saying was that they went to Heaven, so one would assume that it would be teaming with humans that had ascended to Heaven. However, there was a distinct difference between where Kai resided and where the humans that came to Heaven live. "It's not too crowded I suppose. The humans that are good in life do go to Heaven, that much is true, but there is a separate area for them, and for the angels." Kai glanced over at the other male. He was over by the sink, and he was getting water all over his unclothed arms. His skin was glistening and he found himself approaching Merik from behind.

Merik snorted softly, and shook his head. "That's really all it is, then? Just...perfect? What kind of rules do they have there?" Merik finished washing a few more bowls, and turned, almost running into Kai. He paused, raising an eyebrow and peering down at the angel. Kai being so close was rather unexpected, and Merik expected the boy to tug out a knife or something, in an attempt to stab him.

Kai found himself nodding his head as he heard the other talk. Perfect? He snorted at that and let out a small laugh. Heaven was anything far from perfect. Sure, he had everything that he could ever need or want for that matter, but he had never actually experienced true freedom. That was what he had right now. Well he had the freedom to do what he wanted around the other male within reason. Beggars couldn't be choosers he supposed. Kai wasn't expecting the other to turn so sharply, almost running into him. His reflexes moved him about a foot away from the other as he jumped back a little. He had been rather close to the other. "Sorry," muttered Kai as he glanced at the other through turquoise bangs. He then muttered to himself," It's not perfect." He didn't know if the other had heard him, but right now he really didn't want the other prying.

Merik hadn't heard the boy speak, but he had indeed heard the snort. He set the clean bowls out to dry, and gathered up another load. "You didn't like it?" He questioned, before starting his humming again, scrubbing the tin dishes.

Kai leaned against one of the counters as he thought about the other's males rather vague question. Didn't like what? Of course he liked where he lived, well for the most part he did. Sure, there were things about where he resided, or had once resided, that had really ticked him off. More than he would have liked to recount, but it definently outweighed the negatives of being here. Or did it? He had freedom now with Merik, but how much freedom was the question. He had food and water and the occasional bout of affection from the other, but was he really happy here. Well he wasn't unhappy, right? So that meant he was happy? "Not really," he managed to force out. " I mean I was happy there. I had everything that I needed, but everything was chosen for me. Not like what to wear and the small things like that, but on the more larger scale things. Like who I could spend time with or how my schedule was run. I didn't have that kind of freedom. So I guess you could say it's a love hate relationship right?"

Merik didn't answer as he finished the dishes, mulling over what the boy said. Eventually, he nodded. "I guess that's what you would call it." He paused, drying his hands off as he eyed the male. "You really don't like feeling trapped, do you? Is that how you felt there, then?"

Kai found himself nodding his head even before the full extent of the question had registered in his head. "Yes," replied Kai. "I guess you could say that. I mean I didn't have any wants or needs that weren't fulfilled, but it seemed all sort of artificial. Like they weren't giving me anything and everything because they wanted to, it was more like they had to, or else. I don't want that kind of life for me or the other people around me." Kai was really battling with his emotions right now since currently he was neglecting his Seraphm duties in protecting the mortal realm by being with this male. He had all but abandoned his partner, and he was actually debating on staying with the other male. Shaking his head he glanced up at the other. "Am I permitted to go on a walk by myself around the mansion?" Right now he just needed air.

Merik leaned against the wall, eying Kai. "Just take Beast with you, alright? First of all, I don't want any escape attempts. Secondly, I don't want you getting hurt by any other creatures you run into...I'm going to take a bath, alright? I'll see you soon...Have fun, kai..."

Kai nodded his head as he went out of the room to go and look for beast. Where was it. He walked into the main atrium where he saw Beast laying down on its side. He knew that the animal wouldn't outright attack him, but he also knew that he shouldn't wake a sleeping animal up. "Beast," he called and then began making his way towards the door. "Do you want to go for a walk with me? I know Merik wants you to make sure that I won't escape." He wasn't going to leave. He couldn't exactly fly anymore, and he wasn't going to abandon Sage either. He had done enough terrible things while he was down on Earth, there was no need to add more.

As his name was called, the hell hound jumped to his feet, trotting to Kai. He sniffed and lapped the boy's hand, his tail wagging.

Merik watched the boy go with a sigh. He was so sweet, and he felt so soft towards the male. Sometimes, he wanted to grant the boy his freedom. He continued to clean the kitchen.
