Eyes narrowing at the laugh, Garrick glanced around at the oblivious people. He was getting a little angry at the fact that Katon was so dismissive of his abilities. The brown haired man had summoned and bound him after all! "I bound you to me didn't I?" Raising an eyebrow the wizard cocked his head to the side as he pondered what to do next. Somehow he had the feelings that things were going to be difficult indeed. Letting out a sigh, the young man rolled his eyes, shook his head, and stood up.

Katon widened his eyes a little bit when he saw the rather angry look cross the other male's features. Had he struck a nerve? Had he made the other angry? Something that should have made him swell with pride instead made him feel rather sad on the inside, something that he was not very familiar with. He listened intently to the other, straining more than anything to hear the other over the roaring crowd. It was true that the other had bound him, but they other had made some rather fatal errors when he had done so. Fatal errors that might have to be shown to the other. As he watched the other male get up he found that he too was rising as well. Where were they going to go next? As Katon thought about this it brought on a whole new bout of worrying. What if the other bound him with another spell, this time stronger, or yet shackled him so he couldn't use his powers. He was pretty sure that the other would not have the ability, he could be wrong, to create binding shackles of his own, so he might have to go to another wizard or witch to get them. New York, if he remembered correctly had a black market for rare and magical artifacts. Katon nibbled his lip again wondering if Garrick knew about such a place.

Eying the demon for a few moments in silence, the young man let out another sigh. Anger still flared within him, making Garrick rasher then usual. It was how he found himself pulling Katon forcefully behind him trough the mall with bags in hand until they arrived at the subway. Going trough the motions he sat down silently for the whole trip back, glancing at Katon more then once and wondering what he could do to keep the other man by his side. Not once did the wizard release the demon's hand for fear that he would try to leave.

It was only once they were both safely within his home that his demeanor changed. Garrick was pushed by the fear of being alone again as he shoved Katon to the wall with an angry glare. "Don't doubt my abilities!" Spells half formed flashed trough his mind and sparks danced from his fingertips as he held tight to the amethyst haired man's shoulders. Mumbling bits and pieces of spells without realizing it, Garrick then pushed his lips against Katon's forcefully. He didn't want to be alone. Not anymore, not now that he finally had someone to talk with again.

Katon let out a yell of surprise as he felt himself being yanked forward. He was about to bark out an insult at the other, but decided that one the other wouldn't be able to hear him, and two it wasn't the right place or time for a conversation of this magnitude. As Garrick continued to drag him around in his vice like grip he let out a sigh, resigning himself to the sheer fact that he wasn't going to get away from the other, at least not any time soon. The duo continued running around until he found himself in the apartment that the two of them shared. How the heck had they gotten here so fast, and so quickly at that?

He opened his eyes as he let out a grunt of pain as he felt himself being rather roughly pushed into the nearby wall. He actually shivered when Garrick told him not to doubt his abilities. He could practically feel the raw magical energy dance around in the air. Gulping a little he eyed the other as he was about to push away from the other when he froze when he felt the other's lips being roughly pushed against his own. "Mpphr," he managed to bite out as he tried to push against the other male. The other male was strong and he knew that he would need to break apart from the other as he felt himself becoming dizzy. He didn't know if it was because he wasn't used to the atmosphere or if he was becoming flushed because he really liked the attention the other was giving him.

The sound Katon made as well as the pressure of him pushing against him had Garrick snapping out of it rather quickly. Reluctant to lose contact with the other man just yet he gentled both his hold upon him and his kiss before finally pulling away. Ashamed of himself, and with no idea what spells he'd murmured in his anger, the young man ran a hand nervously trough his hair. He hoped he'd not said anything that could have hurt either of them, that was the last thing he wanted.

Glancing up, Garrick turned his head away to hide the feelings of guilt plaguing him now. "I'm sorry. My magic is all I've had for so long that hearing someone doubt it ... And the threat of being along again ... " Wincing at his words, Garrick turned away with a shake of his head to go and throw the bags onto the living room couch. He settled down on the floor leaning against it holding the remote loosely in his hand as he flicked on the television. The mind-numbing thing might very well be able to distract him enough from his thoughts, though he doubted it.

Katon was glad when he felt the other remove his lips form his own. When the other broke away from him he let out a sigh of relief as he tried to control his breathing. As his mind cleared he tried to make sense of what had just happened. He knew one thing though the more and more time that he was spending with the other male the more and more this could potentially happen. When Katon heard the other he wanted to hold the other, but halted himself from doing it. Katon heard the guilt in the other's voice, and his first reaction was to be angry, but then he felt something that he hadn't felt in a while, if ever. He felt regret, and remorse.

As he looked over at the other wanting to apologize for his actions as well he heard the click of the T.V. Glancing over he saw that the other was sitting in front of the couch. Walking over to the other he slid onto the seat that wasn't being occupied by the things that they had purchased. "Look I am sorry," replied Katon as he placed his hand on the other's head and ruffled the other's hair. He didn't know why he was apologizing to the other, but it just seemed like the right thing to do. Maybe if the two of them got along with one another, pretending on his part, he would be able to slip away in the night or something. Hopefully the other wouldn't be keen on his plans.

The young man was rather surprised when Katon joined him on the living room. The emotion only grew when the amethyst haired man apologized and showed signs of affection. This hadn't been the reaction he'd been expecting at all! For a few moments Garrick remained frozen until he leaned against Katon's leg with a small sigh. Pillowing his head against the limb he closed his eyes, finding some comfort in the apology and the other man's nearness. He didn't know what he would do if Katon found a way to leave.

Self- doubt flared up all of a sudden as he remembered the binding spell he'd created. Had everything been as it needed to be? He couldn't remember doing certain essential things, causing a tight feeling of fear to grip his heart. "You can't leave, right?" Of all the people to seek reassurance from, Garrick never would have thought he would turn to the demon he'd bound. He just couldn't imagine being alone once more without anyone's voice answering his own, or any other presence in his home.

Katon felt the other relax against his leg, to which he too found himself relaxing as well. He tensed a little though, however, not noticably, when he heard the other ask if the binding spell that the other had placed on him had gone through successfully. Thinking up something to say rather quickly he glanced down at the other as he said,"Yes I do believe that the spell did work. Besides, I haven't left you before right?" He knew that the other had missed some rather important steps in the binding spell that he had done, but he wasn't going to test his luck just yet with escaping.

Smiling to himself, the wizard let out a content sigh. "You haven't had the chance to. But ... Thanks for not making my life miserable. I know you could if you wanted to." Glancing at the television Garrick frowned and flicked the remote at it till the channel switched to something that they could talk over. It was music, not too loud or harsh or electronic, it was just background music. Relaxing once more against Katon, Garrick let out another comfortable sigh as his eyes closed.

Katon cocked his down as he heard the other. He snorted a little bit at the other's comment. More like Garrick hadn't given him the chance to run away. "I suppose," mumbled Katon with a yawn. He didn't know why he was getting tired all of a sudden. He hadn't really done very much to make him so exhausted, so why was it that he was tired. He was never even tired after he was done with a long, drawn out meeting or even a training session with the other soldiers. He heard the other thank him and he raised an eyebrow at the other. Why was the other thanking him? "Why?" asked Katon. "Why are you thanking me for staying with you. It's not like I could escape anyway." He knew darn well that he could escape, but he didn't want to hint it at all.

Ignoring the snort Garrick tilted his head up to shoot a slightly annoyed glare at Katon. Of course the demon didn't understand! His words earlier didn't seem to have phased him one bit. "Because no one ever sticks around." Suddenly angry once more, Garrick did his best to rein in his temper. Shifting up from his seat, he shoved to bags of clothing aside to plop down beside the other man. The wizard just didn't understand what was going on with him, why he was suddenly being so open with a stranger. It was a grudging kind of openness for that matter.

Katon heard the rather angry tone in the other's voice as he turned his head down to look at the other. He was about to say sorry, but before he could he eyed the other as Garrick came to sit on the couch next to him. When the other got closer to him he felt himself become rather hot again as he felt a new flush come rushing to his cheeks. Once the other was settled down he raised his arm, looping it around the other's shoulder as he brought the other male flesh against his chest. Ge inhaled deeply the smell that was uniquely Garrick. The other smelled of meadow flowers and cinnamon. Leaning his head on the other's head he gently kissed the top of the other's head. He really didn't know what he was doing, but he felt bad that the other was always alone. Was he getting attached to the other?

A sharp intake of breath was the only sign which showed how surprised Garrick was at this sudden, unexpected, situation. With a sigh the brown haired man huddle closer to the other man and wrapped his arms around him as best he could. As unusual as this was, the wizard wasn't going to argue or question what was happening. Probably Katon had ulterior motives for being so nice, but for the moment it didn't matter because Garrick just wanted someone to be close to.

For a moment he was tempted to lift his lips to steal away another kiss, but he was afraid that doing so would break the moment. Silvery grey eyes flashing open, Garrick tilted his head up to offer Katon a rather confused expression. He was going to ruin it anyway, this brief moment of unexpected comfort. "Why are you being so nice with me?" The self-doubt he'd hidden so well trembled beneath the surface and infused his words.

Katon glanced at the other as he tried to will the blush that painted his face to go away. He heard what Garrick said and nibbled his lips deep in thought. Why had he done that? Well he knew why he had done it, but what was he supposed to tell the other. "I am nice to you because I like you," said Katon. The silence was deafening. "Not to mention I am interested in the mortal world right now. I haven't been here in over 200 years, so a lot has changed." He knew that the other would probably pick up on his confession, but only time would tell if the other would use it to his advantage.

Dumbfounded after hearing such a thing, Garrick shifted away from the demon to stare at him unashamedly. Of all the things he'd expected to hear, that one had never even crossed his mind. It was a welcome knowledge that the wizard didn't know what to do with, or how to react. Hesitantly he reached out to pull Katon's face closer to his so he could place a forcefully lingering kiss upon his lips. He'd decided since he had no idea what to say, he would simply show and hope the other would understand. Though Garrick very much doubted that the demon trusted him, this was an opportunity he couldn't pass up.

Katon wasn't sure how the other would react to what he had just said. He was unprepared for the other to reach forward and bring him closer to the other's face before kissing him full on the lips. He found his eyes slowly beginning to close as he leaned forward into the other's kiss. Why was he doing this? It didn't make any logical sense. He wasn't in love with the other right? Breaking the kiss he opened his eyes as he looked at the other male. "That was," began Katon. It was so many things. Surprising, unexpected, nice, and loving. "That was surprising." Katon broke out into a smile as he looked at the other male. Yes, surprising, but not unwelcome indeed.

A small sound of disappointment left Garrick before he could stop it as Katon pulled away. Feeling a blush rise upon his cheeks, the wizard looked away after catching sight of the demon's smile. His words did nothing to improve the situation either. Garrick wanted to hide behind his facade of anger once more, but he couldn't bring himself to. It was so hard to understand himself! Katon was a demon, a denizen of the underworld, all of this was probably a ploy to find his way back there, to his home.

A stab of something wrenched trough Garrick's heart at the thought, making him stiffen and send a half angry and mistrustful look at the other man. With a sigh and a shake of his head, he cuddled close to the other man after switching the tv channel till it rested on a movie, The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe or something of the sort. Garrick didn't really care, he just hoped that Katon was actually speaking the truth. "You don't have a chance of leaving, you know that. I won't let you. Not even if I have to wrap you in a thousand more binding spells, each one stronger then the last." The threat wasn't an idle one, and the wizard was already planning on which ones to place upon the demon next.

Katon glanced over at the T.V. as he saw the other male begin flipping through the channels. Garrick finally stopped at a channel and he was immediately engrossed in it. From what he could gather it was a movie about 4 children and a talking lion. He raised an eyebrow as he looked at the screen. Was this what the people of the mortal realm watched? Shrugging he eyed the other male, and when he heard what he said he found his eyes beginning to narrow a little bit as his temper flared. "This brat!" thought Katon as he clenched his teeth in irritation. "How dare he!". He then let out a calm , steady breath as he tried to calm his nerves though. He had to have an air of calmness around him before his temper got out of hand. "Haha," laughed Katon as he glanced again at the other male. "Other binding spells won't stop me." He felt a quiver in his voice which he tried to curb. Maybe the other did have more binding spells, stronger binding spells. He needed to get out of this situation, and fast.

Glancing up at the amethyst haired man, Garrick found himself holding his breath. It was hard to decide whether to go trough with his threat or not, until he heard Katon's words. That was it! Standing abruptly with anger flaring, he stared down at the other male for a few moments with stormy grey eyes. Shaking his head, Garrick walked away to go and grab a small knife. Returning with it he plopped down beside Katon and reached out to try and cut a lock of hair from him. A strong binding spell needed a part of the demon, an even stronger one then this would need blood. In any case, Garrick wanted to be certain the other man didn't leave.

((o.O nuuu my hair -cries-))

Katon knew immediately that the other wasn't playing around when he suddenly stood up nearly knocking him over on the couch that they were both sitting on. What was the other male doing? He turned around to see that the other male had found a rather sharp looking knife. What the heck was he going to do with that?! Katon watched as Garrick approached him, reaching forward and grabbing a fistful of hair. Yelping out loud he was too slow to evade the other, and soon there was a sound of tearing. Turning his head to glare at the other he saw that the other male had cut off a few locks of his amethyst colored hair. Standing up suddenly he threw out his hand catching the other male by the throat. Glaring at the other he said in a rather low, menacing voice," Don't you dare do that if you know what's good for you." He figured that his threat would fall on deaf ears considering that the other had come this far, but he decided that he might as well try.

((hehe But it's Katon's hair, not yours! lol He's gonna need a haircut.))

Clutching the amethyst locks of hair tightly in his fist, the young man sent a smirk Katon's way. Garrick was so full to the brim of emotions that for once in his life he didn't need to think trough a spell, to calculate it and research it. Instead he could feel sparks of energy leap from his hand to twine around the strands of hair. Soon enough nothing more then the sparks remained, until they too faded and a strange sense of knowing filled the young man. It wasn't that he could tell anything more about Katon then he already could, he just knew that the demon couldn't leave now. At least, not without a tremendous amount of effort or his permission or release of him.

The hand upon his throat phased him not a bit, nor did the threatening tone Katon had used. "I just did." He didn't care what the other man thought of him as long as he stayed. Now that he had that, Garrick was content. Or as content as he could be under the circumstances.

Katon let out a chocked cry as he saw the other's magic wrap its way around the long locks of amethyst colored hair. Letting go of the other he felt the magic working on him as well. Grasping at his head as a piercing whine emanated from his skull. Throwing his hands over his ears he flopped down on the couch. Laying down he brought his legs up to his chest as he closed his eyes tightly. What ungodly thing was the human doing to him?! Why did it hurt so much. "God!" yelled Katon. "What did you do to me?!" He knew now that no matter what he did he would be tied to Garrick. He knew that the spell that the other had used was a rather powerful binding spell, more powerful than the one that the other had used before. He would need to get crafty now if he was going to leave anytime soon.

Worry filled Garrick's silvery eyes at the way Katon was reacting. Had it hurt him so badly? Moving forward quickly the wizard wrapped his arms around him while trying to make soothing noises. Guilt flitted trough his mind at the thought that he'd caused the other man pain. "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry. I didn't know it would hurt you!" Though Katon was a little taller then him, Garrick moved to try and gather Katon close against him and sitting upon his lap. Panic, the wizard felt it wrapping trough him at the thought of what he might have done to the demon.

"I bound you to me, made you my guardian." That had seemed like the best choice at the time.

Katon didn't know what was wrong with him. First he was standing in front of the human threatening the other's life, and in the next moment he was writhing in agony on the couch that he once had been sitting at. Katon gritted his teeth when he heard Garrick say that he was sorry for causing him such pain. He was half inclined to believe what the other had said, but the other half of him wanted to get revenge on the other. He felt his body be shifted a little bit, and he let out a whimper of pain as his head continued to feel as if it was splitting in half. "Guardian?" questioned Katon. He didn't really know what the other meant by that. Did that mean he would protect the other? Protect the one that was keeping him the rough equivalent of a prisoner? "I guess thats," he slurred before he passed out from the strain of the magic on him. Maybe he shouldn't have goaded the other male.

Worry and guilt warred together within the wizard as he tried in vain to soothe Katon's pain. This was not going well at all! A tight feeling swept trough his chest as the young man realized the demon had fainted. Carefully cradling the other man against him the wizard somehow managed to plop him down upon his bed. Soon enough Katon was settled comfortably enough without his jacket and tucked in safely in the bed.

Garrick on the other hand was anything but calm. Papers and books were piled all around upon the bedroom floor. The scratching sound of a pencil flying across paper frantically filled the room. The brown haired man was determined to find out what had caused Katon so much pain. So far he'd had no luck, but perhaps in the time it took for the other man to awake he would have an answer.
