Even in unconsciousness he was in pain. His dreams were spliced with fire and lightning and he found himself crying out over and over again as he felt as if the binds that Garrick had placed on him were actually burning barbed wire. Rolling around on the rather soft bed that he was placed on he found himself yelling out as he opened his eyes. "Where-Where am I?" asked Katon as he glanced up at the white ceiling above him. He didn't know why he was in so much pain, there was no reasonable answer to it. He let his eyes slide closed again as he tried to sift through his various memories to try and figure out a reason to this sudden, unexpected pain that was still lancing through his body.

Frantically flipping trough the books, the panicking mage finally let out a frustrated yell and flung it aside. Tomes thumping to the side as they fell haphazardly, his silver eyes fell upon the smallest of them all. Scrawled in his words were things he'd observed or spells he'd only dreamed of casting. There in plain back and white was his mistake. Cursing himself silently, the young man cut a few stray locks of his own hair after rushing to grab the knife.
Moving to Katon's side he placed it in the demon's hand and held it there tightly as he forced his magic to resurface. "You're in my room ... Now please you have to call upon your magic to bind me to you in the same way I did. The spell's only half complete and that's why you're in so much pain." Leaning forward he brushed a gentle hand across Katon's forehead to try and soothe him. Of course the effort was a futile one.

Katon barely heard what the other had said, but he found himself nodding his head. The other had said something about magic By using his magic the two of them would be bound together. He would no longer be in pain, but he would have willingly sealed his fate by not being able to leave the other's side, ever, or at least until the other released him or gave him permission to go certain places. "Okay," said Katon as he concentrated on the hair that was in his hand. His hand glowed a soft, bright blue color, and then it died down leaving Katon no longer feeling any form of pain, not even a minor discomfort. "Did it work?" asked Katon as he cracked an eye open to glance up at the other.

A sigh or relief swept trough Garrick when Katon's eyes opened to meet his. Smiling a little he nodded after the sweeping pain he'd felt for a brief moment disappeared. Laying beside the other man, he pulled Katon close while moving himself closer. Unbidden a tear or two fell from his silvery eyes to trace trails down his cheeks until they fell upon the wizard's clothing. "I'm sorry. Hurting you like that was the last thing I wanted. If I had known ... " Shaking his head, Garrick closed his eyes to avoid the other's reaction. The demon had every right to be angry with him or hate him. It had been a lie earlier when he'd though he didn't care what Katon thought of him. In fact the opposite was true. Garrick cared too much, far too soon, about what the other man thought of him.

Katon heard the other's apology as he was pulled flesh against the other. He was half inclined to listen to the other, but the other half of him wanted to tell Garrick to shove off. He, however, was too tired to deal with this right now, so he continued to lay entwined in the other's arms. It actually felt rather good to feel someone hold him. It had never happened to him, rarely if ever, in the Underworld. "I guess I accept," said Katon with a chuckle. "You are going too far out of your way to be nice to me. There was no way that you would intentionally hurt me."
As the two of them continued to lay there Katon's mind began to wander a little bit. He wondered how the other demons were fairing with him being gone. Their general was gone. Now who would lead their armies to victory? Then again that victory would be against the mortal realm. Garrick's home. The more and more he learned of this wondrous, magical place the more and more he didn't want to lead the war in conquering it.

Absentmindedly running a hand trough Katon's hair, the wizard frowned. "Am I really that obvious?" Garrick glanced at Katon with a small smile and a lightened heart. His emotions were being so very strange, bouncing up and down and flying in spirals at every moment! A creaking sound came from the bed as Garrick shifted to lean on his elbow so he could look down at Katon. There was a strange look upon the mage's face, a softening of features and a hesitancy in his demeanor.
"I have a hard time believing that you like me. I did manage to find a way to imprison you and bind you to my will." There was Garrick's uncertainty rising again. With a sigh he shifted and turned his back to the other man so he could stare at the grey walls. Grey like so many other things was not quite white, and not at all dark. It was the balancing color, the in between. That was the spot where Garrick found himself, in some shady grey area of life where he did what he wanted but at the same time sought so much more.

Katon raised an elegant eyebrow when he heard the other speaking. Obvious? Yes, he was rather obvious. One of Katon's many trades was the ability to be able to observe his surroundings and come up with a plan based on those surroundings. Right now he was quietly observing the other. He could tell that the other male was an insecure, rather secretive person that tended to keep to themselves. A lot of witches and wizards were like that though since being discovered typically meant being exiled from the society or even death. He didn't like the other's choice of words. Imprison him. "Wait," said Katon as he rolled over so that he was facing the same way as Garrick. Taking his arms he turned the other around so that they were facing each other. "I thought that you said that I was your guardian. Is that a way to treat your guardian?" He then placed a chaste kiss on the other's cheek before pulling away giving the other a knowing look.

The young man had lapsed into silence. His thoughts meandered back and forth along paths that no one else could follow. It was with a start that Garrick heard Katon speaking. The young man couldn't find it in him to struggle as he was turned to face the other. Without making a sound Garrick moved so that he huddled against the amethyst haired man to seek what reassurance he could. It was so hard to deal with the fact that right now all he wanted was Katon's company. All his other plans had fallen apart, or rather been forgotten, all because of the events of this one day.

Katon was a little surprised that the other male was letting him hug him. From what he had gathered before Garrick was a very dominant person. When the other was turned into him he tightened his hold on the other as he said,"Garrick. I won't be leaving you anytime soon. I was resentful at first because I didn't like it one bit that I was chained to you, but if we can work together. Like you know you treat me like a person and I will as well, I do believe that everything will work out." He didn't know why he was really saying this. Was he saying this to comfort the other, or was he saying this to try and rationalize his decision on staying with the other?

The other man's words soothed some of the uncertainty he felt away. A familiar grin graced the brown haired wizard's face all of a sudden as he pulled away slightly from the other man. "I'll hold you to that. And when haven't I treated you as a person? I was under the impression I always did." Wrapping an arm around Katon, he shifted so that he was the one hugging the other and sighed. Just this was more then he'd ever dreamed of having with anyone. Pressing his lips to the other's jewel colored hair, the young man closed his grey eyes with a small smile. He had so many questions to ask still. Probably the other man did as well.

Katon let out a sigh of contentment when he felt the other shift him into a more comfortable position so that Garrick was the one that was holding him. He liked it when the other took control and cared for him because of his upbringing. He was taught from a young age that if you are to succeed that you don't rely on other people, and you don't show any signs of affection because they are considered weak. That was one of the larger issues that he was having to deal with right now. It was alright to show affection to someone, it wasn't a weakness. He had so many questions buzzing through his head. Everything from what was popular to what had happened in the last 200 years throughout history. He figured that he could probably look it up, especially the later, but he wanted to hear it from the other. However, right now he was very content with just laying in the other's arms.

Quirking his lips up into a smile, the wizard looked down at the other man. The demon wasn't anything like he'd imagined. It was all such a novel experience, all of it, that Garrick wasn't entirely sure what he was doing. Apparently he would have to figure it out as he went, since Katon seemed content to let the wizard do whatever he wanted. The thought brought up others which caused a blush to sweep across his cheeks. "Would you tell me about your world?" Thoroughly content, Garrick's voice was slurred slightly with sleepiness. It had been such a busy day and he'd used so much magic to summon and bind Katon to him. It was no wonder he felt drowzy!

Katon continued to lay with the other. He could stay here forever. Wait. No. He had a responsibility back home. He was the god forsaken general for god sake. He needed to go back, but right now it could wait. What was a few more days anyway? They were far from getting the army battle ready anyway. Sighing again he snuggled into the other as he turned to look at the other. Katon cleared his throat when he heard the other. "Well where do I begin. It's rather dark there, and there is magic everywhere. You can feel it in the air, breath it in. It's truly electrifying. We don't have a caste system so even the poorest can become nobles. The place that I live in is the main training hall." He paused thinking of his soldiers that were probably getting restless without their general.

Closing his eyes the wizard tried to imagine it all. It sounded like a strange place, but one full of wonders and fraught with dangers. He was hard put to imagine living there. "Things are still medieval there, aren't they? And what about your family? I've told you a little about mine earlier." With a speculative look in his eyes, Garrick bent his head down to nibble lightly at one of Katon's ears. He had no idea what kind of reaction he might get, but he really wanted to find out. The brown haired man was suddenly fully awake and holding the other man tightly against himself. This amethyst haired demon meant to much to him already! It wasn't love, not yet, but given time it could be.

Medieval. That was one way of putting it. It wasn't dark ages medieval, but it was just a step up from there. They still lived in stone houses, and castles, but the nobles and higher ups lived in luxury with all of the more "modern" accommodations, which included lights and heat. It wasn't fair when you thought about it even though it was possible for a rags to riches story to happen. His family. As he was thinking about what to say he felt the other begin to nibble on the shell of his ear. Not expecting it he jerked forward letting a small moan escape from his throat. Shutting his mouth quickly he glanced at the other rather sheepishly as he then averted his eyes trying to think of something else to say. That's right family. "Well," said Katon as he thought some more. "I don't have a mother and a father. I was adopted by one of the ruling noble families. I mean I know I have-had parent's, but I don't know them." It was a rather bitter topic, so he just fell silent again.

After smiling a little and blushing furiously, he sobered quickly enough. He hadn't expected to get such a reaction, and it frightened him a little. Garrick looked uncertainly Katon's way as the other man spoke. It sounded like such a strange life. Then again, his must have been alien to someone who'd lived in a completely different world for his whole life. "You said you became a demon at twenty-one, how did that happen?" For some reason Garrick had a hard time believing Katon would make any deals with demons for power.

Katon hummed for a moment before he continued. Garrick was just full of questions, and in most cases he would have just told the other male to leave him alone, but this time he seemed to want to tell the other his life story. "Well I used to be human if you can believe that. My father, from what I can remember. That is my real father was a rather ruthless man. He wanted power more than anything, and he was willing to do anything to get that power," he stopped bitterly remembering the memories that left the taste of something foul in his mouth. "To get that power. He sold my soul." He said the last part rather flatly. What did the other expect. Did he expect him to say that he had willingly given up his own soul for demonic powers. Doubtful. Getting up from the couch suddenly he crossed the room to go and stand in front of the window as he watched the setting sun, something that he would have never seen had he still been in the demon world. "So tell me more about yourself. I mean I know about your family life, but why are you staying by yourself here. Last time I checked wizards and witches stayed within their covens."

Anger flared within Garrick's heart at the mention of what had happened to Katon. He didn't want to believe it, but knew that it was true. There wasn't anything he could do about the situation and that rankled. As the amethyst haired man stood he was tempted to follow, but found himself lacking for words. Comfort just wasn't his thing. "Because they didn't approve of the path I chose to follow, I moved out. This world, the people in it ... None of them matter to me and I want to terrify them!" Teaching them a lesson and inspiring fear in their hearts, Garrick couldn't wait to be able to do that. For the moment he was more concerned with Katon then anything else. That was how he found himself moving away from the couch hesitantly towards the other man without any idea what to do or say about his situation.

Katon nodded, his back still turned towards the other. He hadn't cried in a while, and he didn't really remember the last time that he had. He knew that he had to have been at least human the last time that he cried though. However, the emotions were there, and he knew that if he continued to dwell on the memories that brought his untimely demise that he would end up breaking down, or doing the rough equivalent of it. "I see," he said. Striking fear into the hearts of others. He could get used to that, and even if he couldn't command his army, maybe he would be able to achieve some form of terror by helping Garrick. "What if I told you that I could teach you more powerful magic. Things that you would have never learned in your wildest dreams or even in your precious books. That is why you summoned me correct?"

For a few moments he stood still until deciding to join the other by the window. Looking out onto the city streets the wizard crossed his arms. This was what he wanted, wasn't it? Of course it was! "I would tell you that I want to learn." Garrick wanted to add more but decided against it. Instead he leaned slightly against Katon with a sigh. It was getting late, and neither of them had eaten anything for supper. So much had happened that this wasn't such a big surprise. Usually during days like this Garrick forgot all about eating, but he had a guest today so that changed things.

Katon let out a sigh as he felt the other lean against him. It wasn't uncomfortable when he felt the other, but it was just a little surprising and startling as well. He found himself nodding knowing exactly what the other male meant. "Very well," said Katon as he continued to watch the sun sink behind the horizon. Indeed it was a true sight to behold, and if he was going to be "stuck" here at least he would be able to watch these wonderful sunsets and possibly the sun rises as well. His stomach growled a little bit and he looked sheepishly at the other. "I guess I am a bit hungry," said Katon as he ran a hand through his amethyst colored locks.

Smiling the young man moved away to slip into the kitchen. Without even thinking it trough he began throwing together a home cooked meal, meatloaf to be more specific. It didn't take too long for the preparations to be made, but it would be a while before the loaf was cooked trough thoroughly. During the wait, Garrick settled down in a chair with one of his many notebooks plopped down on the table. Arcane writings filled the pages over which he poured single-mindedly.

Katon felt the other let him go, and soon the sounds of cooking in the kitchen could be heard throughout the apartment. He wondered what he would do in the mean time. Maybe watch this T.V. that he had overheard people talking about. Then he saw that the other had settled near the kitchen table, as he heard the scratching of a pen on paper. He figured then that he wouldn't bother the other. Crossing the room in 4 long strides he settled on the couch as he let his eyes slide closed as his mind began to empty itself of all things. He needed to mediate to keep his magic in check. It was easier in the demon realm since he always had the powers of the other demons to help control his power, but here without that aid he knew that if he lost that control things could go south, and very quickly at that.

It took a while, and a few pages of notes, before the meal was done. With a scrapping sound the young man waltzed over to the stove and took out the hunk of meat and bread. It smelled delicious, making Garrick's mouth water as he cut a slice for himself, along with one for his guest. Once both plates were prepared he slipped into the living room. Placing one plate in front of Katon, he settled down beside the other man to eat his own meal in silence. If the purple haired man wanted to eat, then so be it. If not ... Well that was his decision.

((ack. Omg I am so sorry. I read this, and didn't have the time to respond to it, and since I already clicked on it, it didn't notify me that it was still new. So sorry again)).
Katon continued to empty his mind of all unneeded things. He inhaled deeply and then exhaled as well. As he did he let his mind drift back to his homeland. He wondered what the other demons were doing. He figured that they were either rejoicing that he was gone, or that they were lamenting his disappearance. As he heard the other begin making food his mind kept wavering in between pure focus, and of the male in the other part of the apartment. As the food was being prepared he could practically feel himself begin to salivate. The food smelled divine. He then heard the other's footsteps next to him, and then the aroma of the food was thrust through his nose. Cracking his eyes open he could see that there was a steaming plate of meat and bread in front of him. Glancing to his left he eyed the other male. "Thank you," he replied as he took the plate into his lap. He just hoped that the food tasted as good as it smelled, and he had no doubt about that. Taking a bite of it he relished the taste of it. Letting his eyes slide closed again he began to slowly chew the morsel of food that was in his mouth. Swallowing he said," Wow, this is really good. Who taught you how to cook?"
