So I was on YouTube watching Danisnotonfire and his last video mentioned how he had gone to the cinema and how annoying it is when the people there are too loud during the romantic/serious/quiet scenes and how he turns into a jerk when he tells them to shut it.
But it gave me the idea to ask you guys what your worst film viewing experience was!

Mine was actually when I went with my family to go see 'I am legend' and I sat next to my friend (who was male) who whimpered almost the entire time. Then at the part where the dog died he burst into tears (like me) but he is SUCH a loud crier! :(
And when one of those parts that make you jump happened, he elbowed me in the ribcage, leaving me wheezing for the rest of the film. Safe to say I am NEVER going to the cinema with him again.

Also; last week I went to see 'Project X' with a friend of mine and it was just us and an old guy in the theatre. During the film, the old man slowly hopped back one row at a time until he was out of our view, which made me really uncomfortable. There were a lot of boobs, so who knows...old man was creepy! *shiver*

I forgot what movie it was that I went to see but these teens kept talking and making all this noise. It was so bad that I got my money refunded because I complained. It takes a lot to get me mad but if I pay to see a movie I expect to be able to watch it.

My movie going experiences are all pretty tame. xD But there was one time when a man and his daughter kept throwing popcorn at the screen, and the theater was pretty full and they were sitting in the middle of the theater. >,< Luckily, I was in the row behind them, but that's just rude-- not only does it waste food, the people who got showered with greasy popcorn probably didn't like it much.

I accidentally kicked a man in the head during 'Daybreakers'. There's a bit near the beginning where they perform surgery on a man, and you think something really scary is going to happen but it doesn't. So you brace yourself for this fright and then relax. The moment I relax the guy spewed everywhere and the bang gave me a heart attack. So I screamed and jumped the height of myself, accidentally kicking the man in the seat in front and to the left of me in the back of his head with my snow boots...

Another time my friend Josh and I nearly got kicked out of 'The Book Of Eli' because we started laughing hysterically when a cat got shot.

I also went to see 'Little Fockers' for my sixteenth birthday. All my friends were in tutus as part of the birthday brigade, and two of them went off to the toilet. One lassie fell trying to climb over the seat and I nearly got us all kicked out for laughing like a hyena. I also made a rather inappropriate joke during it which nearly got several of us kicked out.

Possibly the best thing ever was when I saw 'Piglet's Big Movie' when I was kid. Just as the film was starting some fat boy got stuck in a chair and they had to stop the film and get the fire department to come in and cut him out before they'd let everyone in to watch the film again.

When I was younger I don't remember the movie but some guys up in the front started swearing at each other... Popcorn was flying and fists, and random people were getting up and yelling. People were screaming and children were crying... I was just sitting there with the straightest face like:
WTF is going on here O__O?
My gparents were yelling shut up.
A child stepped on my toe and security came in...
Oh lord it got crazier after that... Woo I will remember that night.

When my friend and I went to see Green Lantern when it first came out, there was a family of 5 there, with their baby....at 11pm, which was crying through the whole thing. Their other kids were walking up and down the stairs CONSTANTLY saying "Mommy, where are you?". That kept going for about half the movie. Eventually they left...though because we couldn't even hear the movie, it was a waste of money.

Ach. I've got a couple of these.

Awhile back my friend and I went to see the premier of one of the Twilight movies...uh, the second one? /thinks Anyway, we got there right after school so nobody was there. We basically had the theater to ourselves except for a group of teens sitting on the balcony and a couple behind us.

The teens never shut it with their peanut gallery remarks, and they were also sliding down the banister, running back up, and sliding down again.

The couple sitting behind us was making out, and the man was telling the woman in a disgusting tone all of the things he was going to do to her when they got home.

The other experience was with Black Swan--not a bad one, actually. It was Super Bowl Sunday of last year and so the only people there besides my friend and I were women who'd dragged their husbands in to see this lesbian sex porno ballet. :XP Anywho. My friend and I kept making comments about how we couldn't believe we had paid to see a lesbian porno, and the entire theater was laughing at our comments. Good times. Good times. /no offense to anyone who liked the film, etc. We just couldn't believe that that film had gotten so many Academy Award nominations.

Mine isn't that bad, it's the parents who decide that it's the best idea in the world to take their [very] young child to an R rated movie.

Roommate and I went to see an R rated film not too long ago, can't remember what the name of the movie was but both of us had wanted to see it. We barely paid attention to the film because someone brought their four year old child to come see this movie -- the child got more attention then the film did. The child did NOT stop making noises and running around the entire theater until twenty minutes before the movie was over. I guess that's why I can't remember the name!

It happened again, but this time it was a PG-13 movie and the child was a bit older -- I think it was for 'I Am Number Four' or something like that. Was by myself, two women and one of the ladie's children was with them. None of the three would shut up until I and other people in the theater turned around and told them to shut up [but not in a nice way]. They did.......eventually.

I was watching a movie (this was a while ago), and the thing that projects the film heat up and set on fire, so there was all this chaos and delay and children screaming.

Haha, that reminds me of what happened when I watched that movie. Right at the end, there's this dramatic shot, and everything goes quiet before the credits. Well right at that moment, this woman just goes.. "What. A. Dick." My friend and I laughed at that.

What was annoying though was this little kid two seats down from me during the last Harry Potter movie. He kept commentating, asking questions, like "Mum, is he dead?" Or "Wow, that's a dragon!" Seriously annoying, but luckily it wasn't super often, so I still enjoyed the movie.

I've never really had any horrible movie going experiences... maybe I have and they were so horrible they were placed in the repressed memory file? The worst thing I can remember was one time when I went to see a movie and there was a problem with the movie reel and we had to stop halfway through the film and wait for about twenty minutes as they tried to fix it. Even then we got a little voucher for some free refreshments so it wasn't like it was too awful.

Whenever I go to the movies with my friends we always worry that we'll be the people who annoy the other patrons because we have a habit of commentating. We try to be as discreet as possible though and will sit away from others if at all possible and we stick to whispering. We've only been approached a few times for talking and usually the people are actually positive about it (like they tell us that they agree with something we said). Then there was that one time someone actually thanked us for singing when we went and saw Beauty and the Beast. That was actually kind of hilarious. XD

Remembered a couple more after reading all of these comments.

During the like...sixth or seventh Harry Potter movie, my dad and I were about dead asleep because it was so boring (sorry, it was. Ya gotta admit some of those movies stunk), and right when the only part of action in the whole movie was about to happen, the screen showed split film. Yup. The movie stopped working right at the part everyone was waiting for, and all you could hear was muffled sounds. They got it back together after about five-ten minutes, but they didn't backtrack to show the exciting part. That was a lame-ass movie experience.

Also, a small one, but when my mum and I went to see The Duchess when it first came out, my mother couldn't stop laughing hysterically at it. Eventually a guy turned around to tell her to shut up. I had to kick her several times underneath the chair to get her to pay attention to him so that she would. >.> It was very obnoxious, loud, uncalled for laughter that was blocking out the movie sound, so I don't blame the guy. I was so embarrassed.

Oh gosh, what you just said about your mother and laughing made me think of one of my friend's dads. Even though the movie was made in the 1990s, I'll refrain from saying the title because of potentially spoiling it for someone else. Anywho, my friend's dad also has a habit of laughing at inappropriate times, but when we were watching this film he started laughing hysterically when one of the characters was executed in an electric chair. Her mother elbowed him so hard for that.

Then again, I'm also kind of bad for laughing at inappropriate times. I've mastered the art of silent laughter though so it's all good, lol.

For me, the number one worst experience at the theatres was being a third wheel so that my friend could see this boy.. It didn't help that we "watched" "A Walk to Remember" because I don't like romance.

The other bad experience is having the speakers break in the beginning of "Prince of Persia." I did get a free movie ticket out of it, though, which made up for it. :)

@Adrastiea: Sounds like you're talking about a certain Tom Hanks film.

Anyway, if it's the one I'm thinking about, that's horrible. A lot of people laugh out of nervousness, or fear--I know a lot of people like that.

I laugh at horror movies because of how horrible they are, both in literal and figurative terms. Brain explodes in the microwave? Gonna laugh.

I got one from last night. So I went to the theater with my sister and sat down. Something wet was on the seat and I got back up then realized that someone peed all over the seat I just sat in so I now had some strangers urine all over my butt. -_-; I told management who told me they were going to refund the $1.50 I spent on the movie even though I wasn't really mad at them, I just wanted to urine cleaned up so no one else sat in it. I had to go home and shower/change my clothes. It was so gross. I mean, really? Even if it's a kid that urinates on the seat you figure the parent would know the kid did it and tell someone to clean it up instead of being nasty and just leaving it there.

Worst theater experience for me was...
The theater I went to has these couches. Me and my friends loved to try and get them as our seats. So one day my cellphone decided to get buried down in between the cushions and I went in after it. As I searched I felts something odd and pulled it up. Used condom. I think I screamed and about died. ; - ;
Second worse experience is when I went to go see Pan's Labyrinth. Been waiting to see it for a long time too. Any how, I go with a group of my friends, big mistake. First they throw popcorn around, talk loudly, make fun of the movie the whole time and just proceed to embarrass me to where I moved away from them so one I could hear and secondly not be associated with them when they got thrown out.

I can't stand it when people talk in the theatre. For example, last night I waited two hours out in the rain to see the Hunger Games. This was not abnormal, if you were seeing it last night, you probably bought your tickets ahead of time, and if you got a good seat, you must have been waiting for 45 minutes to an hour ahead of time. Me and my best friend were in the front row, as she can't see if we're any farther back. (She's legally blind.) The people in the row right behind us were talking the entire time. If you're going to wait so long to see a movie, why would you talk though it?

Ahhh!! I am a bit of a germaphobe and paranoid (which may prove to be disastrous as I want to work in the healthcare industry) so the pee and the used condom really freak me out. :O

I have not been to a cinema in over 8 years ( way too expensive ) and at any rate, what i remember from that experience was that the floor was insanely sticky and then some dumb jerkface tried to mug me (knife and all) - I was already in a bad mood and I was WAITING for someone to pick a fight with me. All i did (while yelling "YOU WILL NOT ROB ME, A-HOLE!!" )was kick her into her friends (really freaking hard) and they all went down ( they didn't expect me to fight back)

I had metal plates in my boots, I kicked the main thug in the face and stomped and stomped all over them (I wasn't trying to hit them actually, I wanted to get away as fast as I could and the floor was sticky as hell)
Once I got onto the non-sticky carpet I SHOVED myself through the crowd like a flailing idiot. Yeah, in a crowd, gonna get mugged, no one does anything so I have to be the brute.

:| I'm still bitter and angry over the whole thing. Mostly because I can't believe someone tried to mug me again. They didnt get anything this time but.. still. It is something that makes me butt hurt and what made me even more angry was that there were so many people around too! no one did anything.

My friend and I went to see The Hunger Games for the second time last night. My friend thought it would be hilarious in the middle of the film to yell out what happens at the end, when she said that all 90 people in the theater all were yelling at her all you could hear from them were "who just ruined the film??" "thanks a lot b*tch" they were all booing at her. By then I couldn't help but smile a little, I turned around a little ( because we were in the front row) I quickly turned around when I saw everyone glaring at us. Some random guy yelled out at me " I saw that smile! That girl must be in on it too!!" I seriously thought we were going to be beaten up. One of the employees of the movie theater kicked us out as soon as we went out the door all you could hear was cheering and clapping.

Yeah, I won't be going to that theater in a while.
