"I'm only talking to you because I want to...I don't have to talk to you, you know..." he said and kept his weapon in his hand. "Besides....just because I'm talking to you, doesn't mean anything." he added and tilted his head. "Well it's your house you know, clean it if you want...I can offer to help." he suggested.

Arachne waved her hand in the air, as if to wave off the subject of cleaning. "Nah," she said, "It's halloween night. I'll clean it some other day." She began to walk around, keeping her eyes on the weapon in his hand. "You don't have to be so tense," she said, "I'm not going to hurt you. I may be an arachnid but we aren't as violent as people say we are." She paused for a moment. "Well... I guess it kind of depends on how we were raised..." she mumbled, beginning to walk around again. She was mumbling to herself as she straightened up some cobwebs and shifted a bit of the furniture around.

Basou looked at her and shrugged. "Very well, you do as you wish." he said and watched her carefully as she looked at his weapon. "Tense?...I'm not being tense...just cautious. Besides I'm not leaving my weapon at the door...I always have this with me...everywhere I go." he explained. His dark brown eyes looked at her and listened to her mumbling. "I honestly know nothing of your kind..." he said and smiled as he watched her curiously.

Arachne looked over at him, a slightly mellowed out look on her face. "Always with you, eh?" she said, "Do you have a holder you can put it in? I'd prefer you not always have it in your hand. It's starting to make me feel a bit uneasy..."

Basou nodded. "That's right girly...always with me..." he said as he walked around some furniture. "A holder....?" he asked and chuckled. "Ah, I see...you're scared that I'm going to use it to kill you..." he said to her and laughed. "I don't kill unless I'm hurt by that person." he explained and nodded. "Okay I''ll put it away then..." he said and stuck it tightly under the chains he had. "There...better?" he asked.

"Please don't call me girly," Arachne said with a sigh, "And yes. Much better..." She walked up the walls and over to the chandelier, pulling the cobwebs from it since they were collecting dust.

Basou nodded and continued to walk around the place. "So how did you end up in here anyway Arachne?" he asked her as he looked at the cobwebs she was pulling down.

Arachne blinked a couple times, looking down at Basou. "Well..." she said, "Let's see... When us of the arachnid race are born, we don't stick around home for a while. We leave our nests around the age of three and find a place of our own. I didn't like any other place I had found as much as I liked this house, so I stayed here."

Basou listened to her and was surprised. "At three?!" he said surprised. "I'm still at home at that age...I didn't leave home until I was fifteen..." he explained. Looking around the house he nodded to himself. "Well this house is very nice, so I don't blame you for liking it." he commented.

Arachne nodded. "Yup..." she said, "At three. Clueless about the world and your surroundings, fending for yourself in the wilderness..." She slowly walked back to the floor, tossing the cobwebs into the fireplace.

"Well that must be really hard, but I applaud the fact that you can do that." he said to her. "At three, I wouldn't know anything other than how to walk and gallop...and somewhat run." he said and laughed. He missed being a little boy, but those days were long gone now...only the memories remained.

"I think you mean... Walk and trot... And somewhat gallop..." Arachne said with a small smile, "You're half horse. You should know the terms~" She giggled softly.

Basou rolled his eyes. "We didn't go to school, so don't kill me if I forget stuff." he said and looked at her ears and noticed they looked like his, only his were smaller.

"I didn't go to school either," Arachne said, "I've just talked to a lot of the people who come into my house. Even if you didn't o to school, it should be common knowledge for a centaur."

Basou sighed and blinked before deciding to drop this subject and looked up at the chandelier. This house was pretty fancy and he wondered why it had been abandoned in the first place. "Was the house abandoned when you found it?" he asked.

Arachne nodded. "Yeah," she said, "It was. You might wanna watch your step, though. There might be some loose parts that I might have missed when trying to fix the house as best as I could."

Basou instinctively looked down at the floor as he walked. "Okay, well now I know not to run in here..." he said ti her and smiled. "Though...I wonder what caused the owners to leave in the first place..." he said quietly.

Arachne shrugged her shoulders. "I dunno," she said, "Maybe they tried selling it and it never got bought?"

"It's a mystery that will never be solved." he said and chuckled. "That doesn't matter though...it's your home now, and no one will take it way because of their fear." he explained. Basou then walked carefully deeper into the house and looked around. "I bet you get lonely living here alone...." he said as he turned to face her.

Arachne followed Basou silently, listening to him. When he turned to face her, she looked at him. "Hmm?" she said, "Oh... yeah. I do get lonely after a while."

"That's not hard to imagine..." replied Basou with a gentle smile. "You don't have any friends or relatives?" he asked. "I mean...you can always invite them over to your house." he suggested with a shrug.

Arachne shook her head. "I don't have any form of contact with my relatives," she said, "I don't have any friends, either."

Basou frowned slightly. "I see....must be hard not seeing your family for so long." he said quietly and sadly. "I think the only reason you have no friends, is because people are scared of you...but you seem like a nice person." he added and nodded.

Arachne nodded slightly, a sad smile now on her face. "Yeah," she said, "They're all afraid. The people who actually talked to me had promised not to say anything about my existence, wanting to keep me a secret. So, instead of telling their friends about me, they just said the house was haunted by a ghost. Yet there were those who were completely terrified of me because of my appearance, so I left them alone, giving them a snack or two throughout the night so they wouldn't get hungry..." She sighed, crossing her arms over her stomach. "I don't like being a threat to people," she said, "The ones who are afraid of me just don't understand me since they don't make an attempt to get to know me..." She paused for a moment, then looked over at Basou. "Sorry if it seems like I'm ranting," she said with a slight chuckle.

Basou listened intently at what she was saying and frowned. "Well at least they kept the promise." he said softly as he looked at her. "I don't like spiders, but you are probably the only spider I'll get along with...like I said, you seem like a nice person Arachne." replied Basou gently. "I also don't think you're a threat." he added and shook his head. "You're not ranting...just speaking your mind, and that's okay." he said to her softly.
