A few weeks later, Terrance is back to work as usual and election season is brewing. Terrance is glad he election season isn't up but he knows some of his colleagues elections are up though. Chase was one of the options for vice president and is very nervous about taking up that role. Right now he is talking with Terrance to see what he should do.

"I don't know, RJ. It's a once in a life time offer, although they might attack you due to your health," Terrance said as he sipped on some shaken green tea lemonade, "Also I am not sure if your wife is ready for that spot light."

"Yeah, that is true," Congressman Chase said as he sighed, "But I am one of the hopefuls; I just don't want any dirt being dug up about my health."

"Do you ever consider stepping down?" Terrance asked him.

"I have considered, but my district needs me. Sometimes you have to stay till it hurts," Congressman Chase replied as he sipped on some coffee, "I might consider it later if it get even worse."

Terrance nodded and took a bite out of a bagel. Then Liz-rye walked by and sat next to her husband.

Meanwhile, Kent texts Kirin to see how he is doing.

~I am doing alright. Haven't left the house since... you know. I did some research on the net.~ Kirin texts back.

Rita is glad that she isn't up for reelection. She is in her office busy doing things. She is fighting back loneliness, but sometimes it's to much.

Kent reads the text message and replied, "Well sooner or later you're going to have to leave the house. You need to get some help for that man..."

Then again, Kent didn't understand the full aspect of what happened and will never understand it. He just thinks Kirin can move on and live life a little at a time. It isn't as simple as that. JJ keeps trying to tell him that.

Meanwhile, JJ is having coffee with Rachael and she knows JJ likes her. Although she already read JJ's future and didn't want to give him heartbreak.

Back at the capital, Terrance then gives Congressman Chase one suggestion, "Have your wife run for your district when you 'retire'. She is just as well liked. If you take the VP job, have her run for your district."

"I don't know if she's ready for the political game," Congressman Chase said to Terrance.

Liz-Rye nods and then Terrance walks back to his office as he waves bye to Congressman Chase.

~Maybe... don't tell Terrance.~ He says. He's scared of upsetting him, or worse Terrance leaving him. He also knows that Kent can't understand what he's been through. He lets out a sigh. He promises himself to talk to Terrance when he gets back.

Kent replies back with the following, "Relax, I don't know Terrance well enough to even hold a conversation with that him."

Kent does keep his thoughts about Terrance to himself so that he doesn't hurt Kirin's Feelings. Not that he dislikes him, but he just doesn't feel connected to him like he does Kirn. Then he gets a call from his new girlfriend Fiona.

Meanwhile at the capital, Terrance is busy replying to e-mails and answering phone calls. He sighs as he thinks about Kirin. He wonders how Kirin is doing back at home. He wishes he could help Kirin, but isn't sure how to do so.

Kirin wishes he could go visit Terrance, or even Kent. He heads to the door opening it and start panicking. He has one foot out and starts hyperventilating. He can't move, even though he knows he vulnerable.

Terrance wondered if he should call Kirin but then is swamped by snail mail letters. He sighs as he has to actually read them for once. As he read through the letters, one of them stands out to him. He starts reading and feels the sender's emotion as he reads the letter. This has never happened to him before. Who could have sent this letter and was it someone he once met? He continues to read the letter; then he gets a feeling of anxiety and a fear tears runs down his cheek. Then he finishes the letter and realizes the sender was a ten year old kid. The ten year old kid was afraid of another bill that could be passed, and thought Terrance might be for the bill.

Terrance turns on his computer and started typing up a reply to that kid's letter. After he is done with the letter, he signs it and mails it off. He tells the kid not to worry that the bill doesn't have a chance, and he'll continue to fight for mutant rights.

Thirty minutes later, he decides to call Kirin to see how he is doing.

"Hello Kirin, it's Terrance," Terrance said as he left a voice mail, "just seeing how you're doing, call me when you get a chance, love ya'. See ya' when I get home, later."

Kirin is still on the threshold, he has fallen to his knees. He's shaking all over. He shouldn't have tried going out. He hears his phone ring but can't get to it. ::Terrance!:: He lets out a sob.

As Terrance was about to hang up the phone, he feels a tingling in his right hand as if he was feeling Kirin's pain and fear from over the phone line. Terrance hangs up the phone and wonders if his powers are getting more 'severe'. Then he remembers what he father told him once about getting into relationship; then he sighs and realizes he couldn't be alone forever. Also he couldn't put a hamper on Kirin because of his mutation. That would only hurt their relationship. He wondered how his mom and dad got along so well during the years.

"It's okay, Kirin," Terrance said telepathically to Kirin, "Things are going to be okay. I'm here for you."

Then his congressional aide, Abby walked into the room. She gave him a briefing before he had to go on television news show. He sighed because he didn't really liked being on national television that much. Especially now that his mutation was getting worst. He couldn't pop pills liked he used to, to keep himself 'sane' and to keep 'going'.

::Help me.:: He calls out. He has pulled himself inside and got the door closed, but he is still curled up into a ball. He knows that Terrance has a busy schedule but he needs him. Can't he feel that.

Abby noticed Terrance was distressed and asked if he was all right; she also asked if he wanted to postpone the interview for another day. Terrance knew this interview was important, but yet he had to make sure Kirin was all right. He turned to his aide and told her, "Send the following response to my press secretary."

He e-mailed her the response from his smart-phone, and he told her to print out the response to give to the press secretary. Abby nodded and did what he said.

Terrance was heading back to his office, but then bumped into Congressman Chase.

"Sorry," Terrance said as he was a bit shaky.

"Are you all right, Terrance?" Congressman Chase asked him as he coughed, "Oh 'cuse me, someone must of been talking about me."

"I'm all right," Terrance replied as he felt Kirin's pain more and more.

"You should head on home," Congressman Chase said as he coughed some more, "something tells me that you're needed there."

"Shouldn't you see a doctor?" Terrance commented, "or at least retire from congress, you don't look like your doing so good."

"Don't worry about my health, kid," Congressman Chase said as he knew Terrance was beating around the bush about his mutation, "I'll be all right. You need to head home before you have a breakdown."

Terrance right hand started to tingle and he left work early to see how Kirin was doing. He had no reply to what RJ had said to him. He just hoped his colleague would be okay because he notice his health hasn't been getting better. Maybe his colleague did believe in the Japanese saying that if someone talks about you, you tend to cough a lot.

Kirin has made his way to the living room. He pushes himself up onto the couch still stressed, but getting better. He takes deep calming breaths trying to remember his meditation techniques. Soon he's able to get to the kitchen to get himself a glass of water. He's sipping it when he hears Terrance's car pull into the drive.

Terrance pulls into his parking spot and then he gets out of his car. As he gets to the door, his starts to feel sad and feel that Kirin is in emotional pain. He doesn't want Kirin to know that he is feeling his pain, so he tries his best to mask it this time. He unlocks his door; walks inside the house and closes the door behind him. He looks around and wonders where Kirin is, then as he walks towards the Kitchen, his emotional-path sense get stronger. He sees Kirin and greets him. He manages to keep it together for Kirin's sake.

"Hey, Kirin, I decided to come over to see how you're doing," Terrance said as he doesn't know about Kirin's panic attacks and how extreme his fear of leaving the house is.

Kirin rushes to him and hugs him tight. He knows his emotions are effecting his love but he can't help it. "I'm so glad you're here." He says burying his face in Terrance's chest. He breathes in his scent. "I tried coming to see you." He whispers. "It didn't go very well."

Terrance strokes Kirin's hair and smooths him.

"There, there, things will be okay, it'll be okay." Terrance said as he hugged Kirin and doesn't let go untill Kirin Lets go.

He sheds a tear or two, but manages to stay 'sane' and not lose control of his mutation. Even though he is hurting just as much as Kirin is. He really wants to get that guy but knows he has to do it legally and not the rouge way.

"We're going to get through this, and you'll be all right," Terrance said as he reassures Kirin.

"But I can't go out, which means he'll go free because I won't be able to the trial." He forces himself to calm down. "What am I going to do?" He shakes a bit still holding on to Terrance.

There is rustling outside from the trash cans. This causes Kirin to jump.

"Well you might have to seek help, but it isn't your fault though, remember that." Terrance said as he comforted Kirin, "That's only a possum or a raccoon,"

Terrance continues to hold Kirin in his arms to comfort him. He isn't sure what to do at this point and he can't take any more days off of work like this, he has a lot of things to do and interviews to be prepped for. He wonders if he should retire from congress; then again he isn't that old and still has a chance at senate. He has a warm look on his face and strokes Kirin's hair.

Kirin steps back. "I should let you get back to work." He forces a small smile onto his face. "Terrance can I ask you something?" It had been something he had been wondering for a long time.

Terrance looked at Kirin and then commented, "Don't worry about it, the interview is set for another day anyways."

He was thinking about something, and then remembered the promise he made to Kirin about reading his mind. Terrance smiled lightly and then answered Kirin's question, "Sure you can ask me anything."

He wondered what Kirin was going to ask him. Could it be that he was going to aim higher political wise? The truth of the matter was he didn't want to go any higher than senator; since there could be trouble if he went for president or vice president.

Kirin chews his bottom lip, in the way he is prone to do when working things out. He wants to ask this question but he isn't sure how to word it. "Why me?" He asks after a moment.

Terrance heard the question but isn't too sure how to answer it. He wondered what he meant as in 'Why me?' He then figured it how and answered it the best that he could.

"Somethings life just throws challenges that it expects us all to face," Terrance said as he was trying to think for a better answer, "Unless you meant the question in another way..."

The he decided to finish his answer and see if it answers some of Kirin's question, "Even though we face those challenges, at the end of the day and when we achieve what we achieve, we are champions because of it. We come out of the negative and make it positive."

Then he just sighs because he knew he didn't answer the question right; then he just sits there deep in thought trying to think of what Kirin meant. Maybe Kirin meant, 'Why do I have to be stuck with Terrance?' Then he shakes that question out of his mind.

"I didn't mean it that way, though I have wondered about that." He says curling up next to Terrance. "I meant why did you choose me? You could have had anybody you wanted. Why did you choose me?" He just makes small circles on Terrance's stomach. He is sorry that he hadn't been more clear.

Terrance looked at Kirin and ruffled his hair.

"You have every right to ask that question," Terrance said honestly, "and my answer is that I love you. It's true I could have picked that super model, but she was phony and unrealistic. She would of dumped me if she knew the real me. I never told you about my past relationships, because they were nothing but heartache. The only one that didn't lead to heartache was you."

Then he had a slight flash back of a relationship that was almost too good to be true. The girl was nice but she was so hateful. He sighed and then said, "You weren't hateful, you didn't bash anyone or anything for that matter. Nor did you dump me during my stupidity. I know I shouldn't read your friend's mind but I did anyways, and he isn't to fond of me."

He paused for a minute and then rubbed his eyes.

"I'm not upset, and I won't let that get to me." Terrance said as he was thinking, "No matter what happens, we'll get through it together."

He smiled lightly and then he hugged Kirin a tear or two shedding from his eyes.

Meanwhile, his sister is on the top of his roof enjoying what she just have seen. She smiles and thought, "Good job, baby brother, now you're being your true self."

Kirin glows with joy at Terrance's words. This is what he had needed to hear. His words were going to help him through this hard time. The words and knowing that Terrance truly loves him, despite of his past and what had happened to him. He reaches up and gently brushes the tears away.

Terrance strokes Kirin's hair and lightly smiles at him. Then he senses that someone is on his rooftop. He knows who it is though and lets that person be. Then he asks Kirin, "Do you want some lunch? I didn't get a chance to have lunch yet and it would be nice to have some lunch with ya'."

He got up for a minute and then remember he had to stay at the capital this evening to catch up on paperwork and run bills through. "I hope you don't mind that I might not be here this evening, I have a lot of my plate."
