Kirin snuggles Terrance. He feels safe in his arms. "I'd love to have lunch with you. Haven't eaten since breakfast." He is glad that Terrance is hear. He starts to panic when Terrance tells him he won't be hear this evening but he quickly pushes it down. "That's fine. You're a busy politician." He says kissing Terrance's cheek. He then goes to start making lunch for the two of them.

Terrance smiles and is glad Kirin is feeling a bit better, but wants him to get over his fear slowly but surely. He wonders if his sister can help, but then realizes she might do some more damage. He then goes to the kitchen with Kirin to help him fix lunch. This time he wanted to fix lunch for the two of them, then he just decided to help Kirin that way they'll get done quick and have lunch ready sooner.

"Yeah, I tried to avoid spending an evening and night at the capital, but it couldn't be done." Terrance said as he sighed.

Kirin really doesn't want him to go. He just wants him to stay. He says nothing though as he works on making sandwiches for them to eat. Soon he has a plate full of sandwiches and a pitcher of lemon aide made. "Lunch is ready." He says with a smile.

Terrance was deep in thought as Kirin was making lunch. He wondered if he should not run for the next term, but then again he doesn't know what to do. He wondered if he should ask Congressman Chase for some advice, although he has a feeling that he might not understand. He then sighs and wonders who else to ask, he couldn't bother Rita with this and he sure wasn't going to ask JJ. He doesn't trust people that he can't read their minds or emotions. He wonders what JJ's deal is or if he is even human. One time he shook his hand and it was cold to the touch as if he was an android or something.

When Kirin told him lunch was ready; he said, "Thanks, Kirin. It looks great."

He sat down with Kirin and started eating lunch.

Kirin is lost in his own thoughts. He wants to beg Terrance not to go, but he knows this is his job. He will have to work through his own issues. He knows Terrance cares for him, but he doesn't want to be a burden. He sits down and starts silently eating.

Terrance is lost in his thoughts as well though. He sighs and wonders what to do at this point. He feels his phone vibrate but he ignores it this time. If it was important, it would rapidly vibrate over and over again. Then he decided to ask Kirn a question out of the blue, but then again Kirin might not know the answer to it.

"I know I shouldn't question people if their human or not, but..." Terrance said as he was hesitant in asking the question, "is JJ even human? Maybe I read too many comic books or something, but something seems a bit off about him. I can't read his mind or emotions."

Meanwhile, Rachael is still on the roof top thinking about her brother has said. She smirks and jumps down from the roof top and then lands on Terrance's front lawn. "Terrance, you still have a lot to learn, huh?" Rachael thought to herself.

Kirin is taken a bit back by the question, he had never thought about it before. He thinks silently. "I don't know." He says. "I've never even thought about it. He's just always been my friend." Kirin starts cleaning up from lunch.

Terrance nods and then thought of something. That's then he realized that JJ is 'human' and not a machine. Maybe he has watched one too many episodes of The Big O back during his later graduate school days. Terrance smiled and helped Kirin with cleaning up lunch.

"Maybe it was silly of me to ask that question," Terrance said as he helped Kirin with the dishes, "It's like he is blocking his thoughts from being read. Blocking emotions is easy but blocking your mind from being read takes a lot of work."

All of a sudden, Rachael appears into the house with a slight smirk on her face. "Little bro, have you ever thought that there is something more to a person then thoughts and emotions?" Rachael said as she smirked, "I would be nice and tell you more about JJ, but I think you could figure it out if you just became his friend or something."

Terrance just gave his sister a blank and discontent glare. Then she said to him, "I guess you're afraid of him, huh? Come on, admit the truth. Also think about your partner's feelings, he needs you right now and leaving him alone might scare him."

Terrance sighs and knew his sister was right but he had to make up for the days he missed at work. He sighed again and didn't know how to respond to what he sister said. Maybe she hit the nail right on the head.

"So Kirin, how is my little brother holding up?" Rachael asked.

Kirin jumps when Rachel appears. He still feels uncomfortable around her. "I'll be fine. I know Terrance has a job. I'd get one if, you know." He says. He moves closer to Terrance. "What do you know about JJ? You better not bad mouth him. He's my friend." He says.

Rachael looked at Kirin and said, "Relax, I wouldn't say anything bad about JJ Miles. He's quite the guy... To bad it's my destiny to be forever alone though."

She sighed, smiled lightly, and then took a seat. Terrance wondered why his sister wouldn't break her own destiny and he then replied to her comment, "I don't really know, sis, I just never met anyone like him before. The only other person I met that has a similar personality and mannerism is Congressman Chase. Although at least I can read his feelings and thoughts."

Rachael shook her head and then said, "You could just ask him, or maybe he just stealth his thoughts and emotions for a reason. After all, he is in the medical field and he wouldn't want to affect his patients if his emotions were just out there like that."

Terrance agreed and then was shocked when Rachael revealed that JJ was a doctor. At least that is what Terrance figured.

"Oh dear, I guess I revealed a bit too much, huh? Oh well I gave you a freebie, but you're not getting anything else out of me," Rachael said.

Terrance's curiosity was perked now and wanted to know more somewhat, but realized he couldn't force his sister to give him more information. Of course he wasn't going to ask Kirin since he would not do that to his partner. Then his smartphone starts to ring. He sighs and looks at it. It was an urgent text message.

"JJ's a doctor? I would have never guessed.Though if I were going to ahve anybody as my doctor I'd want him.Though he seems a bit young which makes him being a doctor even cooler." He says. He doesn't know why he'd never thought to ask JJ what he did when he wasn't hanging out at the skate park.

"Yeah, I wouldn't had guessed either, but he isn't as young as you think he is either. Although he isn't that old either..." Rachael said as stretched out her legs, "He just has that youthful look to him. Even with my enhanced abilities, I can only pick up so much about him. So don't feel bad little bro, there are some things that are still a mystery to me. Also I do respect his space and privacy. Now if I was in love with him, hm..."

Terrance responded to the text message and put away his smartphone. "Ugh... Congressional aides can be a pain in the neck sometimes. I can't wait for election season to be over..." Terrance said as he kept getting texts and e-mails about every little thing, "I hope Chase gets re-elected for his sake, his opponent is a bit creepy."

Terrance goes to the kitchen to get his sister a class of lemonade.

Kirin follows him into the kitchen. "Terrance do you really have to work tonight?" He asks hugging his boyfriend tightly from behind. "I have always hated when you have to work nights." Though it's worse since he had been attacked. He just lays his head on Terrance's back still holding tightly to him.

"Unfortunately, I do..." Terrance said as he sighed, "If I bail tonight, I could lose my seat next election."

Terrance was considering getting out of politics but he wanted to make sure his people was well represented. He then comforted Kirin and reassured him that things will be all right. He then asked Kirin if he wanted someone to keep him company while he was at work.

Kirin had hoped against all odds that Terrance wouldn't run again. He knew Terrance had talked about not running for another term, but it seemed as if he had decided to run again. He did his best to keep his emotions at bay. "How late are you going to be?" He asked.

Rachael walked into the kitchen and said, "I have to go, little bro, see you some other time."

Rachael left before Terrance could even reply to Kirin's question and say anything to Rachael.

Then Terrance looked at Kirin and said, "I don't know this time. Also I have an evening meeting with a state representative."

He wanted to reassure Kirin that things will be okay. He was meeting with a state representative to see if he could groom the guy to run for office in his place. He doesn't know much about the state representative but that he has been progressive in the community.

As He was about to release Kirin from a hug, he a felt fuzzy emotional wise and tried to shake it off. He knew either a, someone close to him was hurting really badly, or b, he wasn't doing what he can for someone that he loves. He teared up a bit and his hands trembled.

"Terrance what's wrong?" He asked reaching up and stroking the tears away. He was concerned for Terrance. He hated to see him like this. He leaned up and kissed him deeply.

"I don't know, Kirin," Terrance replied as he felt his phone vibrate, "maybe all the stress of being in congress is finally getting to my emotional health..."

Terrance then has a flash back of when he was talking to Congressman Chase.

"You hadn't been around much, kid," Congressman Chase said to Terrance as he coughed and felt weaker, "You weren't the first mutant in congress... I'm surprised your district hadn't 'booted' you out for lying. Oh sure you made it better, but don't take all the credit."

"I wasn't planning to," Terrance said as he was shocked to hear Congressman Chase say that, "also if I wasn't the first, then who was?"

Congressman Chase sighed and wondered what rock this kid has been under, he realizes Terrance's generation wasn't taught mutant history as much as his was. Then again it depends on the school.

"JR Chase was the first, also known as Royce Chase" Congressman Chase said as he smiled and then coughed.

Then it dawned to Terrance that Congressman Chase was related to Royce Chase. Terrance wondered if his colleague was a mutant too. He was going to ask the question but decided not to.

"Are you okay, Congressman Chase?" Terrance asked as he knew his colleague wasn't feeling well.

"I'm all right, kid," Congressman Chase said as he coughed, "Don't stress yourself out over me. It's just an autoimmunity issue."

Terrance felt bad because he couldn't do anything for his friend. Then Congressman Chase said, "You can't let your emotions get the best of you. If that's going to happen, then consider retiring from the game... Your partner needs you more anyways."

He shook off the flash back and then sighed, wondering if Congressman Chase is okay. Most of all he hopes Kirin will be all right at home tonight.

Kirin hugged Terrance tight. "I should let you go." He said stepping back. "I just wish I didn't have to stay here alone." He said softly.

Rep. Jackson arrived at the restaurant where he was meeting Terrance. He was a bit early but had the waiter seat him and told him who he was waiting for.

"I'll try to finish up early, that way you won't be alone for the whole night," Terrance said as he hugged Kirin and then kissed him on the forehead, "I don't know if you want my sister to keep you company... that might scare you even more..."

Terrance goes to his bedroom to freshen up, and then comes back downstairs. He hugs Kirin and says, "Love you, Kirin. I'll see you tonight."

Terrance drives off to the restaurant and parks his car. Then he walks inside and is told Rep. Jackson is siting at that booth over near the window. Terrance walks over there and greets him.

"Hello, it's nice to meet you, Representative Jackson." Terrance said to him as he took a seat.

Jackson stands. "Congressman Pace. It's a pleasure to meet you." He offer his hand to Terrance. "You're infamous you know." He says with a smile.

While Terrance was still standing, he shook Jackson's hand and said, "Yeah... hence why I want you to take my seat."

When he was seated he then said in a Southern drawl, "To tell you the truth Representative Jackson, I am growing weary of the political game. I can only play a Poker Face for so long before I crack."

Kent texts Kirin to see how he is doing, also because Terrance called him before arriving at the restaurant.

"Hey Kirin, how are you right now?" Kent texts to Kirin.

"Have you ever thought of dropping the poker face?" Jackson asks as they sit down. Jackson picks up his menu and starts to look over it.

Kent then text back, "Want me to come over? Terrance suggested that by the way. I'm surprised he called me."

"Hm... I thought about it, but then I seriously though about dropping out of the game. The real me wouldn't had been a politician..." Terrance said as he picked up the menu and skimmed through it, "You know the truth better than anyone else. You saw through the Poker Face, even when I first ran for office. I think you know why you're here today..."

Terrance had a slight flash back and then shook it off. He was trying not to feel the emotional feed back he felt when he shook Representative Jackson's hand. This time he couldn't hold it in like he use to. He use to wear gloves, but then he gave that up when he started using medicines to 'help' his emotions. Now he has been 'clean' for months now and had to find other ways to cope.

~He knows you're my friend and I'd like that an awful lot, as long as you didn't already have other plans..~ Kirin smiles that Terrance had thought to contact Kent.

"You would like me to run for your seat." Jackson says.

The waitress comes. "Can I get you gentleman something to drink?" She asks with a smile.

"Just a water for me please." Jackson says returning the smile.
