Flute are cheap?
Well, I guess so compare to piano and violin...

How about drums?

It depends on the drum - those can get super expensive too! and even just the little classroom drums for elementary music are like 50 dollars for a tiny one D:

harps are majorly expensive as well.

I never see harp on sale in instrument shop I have gone too...

Well its not a popular instrament these days.....I'm not even sure anymore.

I am planning to learn flute, viola and then I am interested in ancient Chinese's 'piano'. Gu Zheng.
I am this kind of person. I like to learn to play, but not learn to the extent of professional.
First of all, I can't differentiate how good is good.

I learn because I like to learn as well.

Honestly... all those saying about.. putting your emotion in it while playing instrument or singing...
I can't hear the difference. All I can judge is whether they are pitch perfect or not. XD

I can hear what they mean.....but I don't knowhow to doit.

Sometimes I can't hear clearly what they sing too...
Especially those opera... XD

But seriously - just looked up prices of harps, and I know they are expensive but didn't know how much - a harp with 39 strings is 1700 dollars D:

So, with the new tax laws here in the U.S. - my paycheck really took a dive D: It doesn't help that I'm 32 hours a week instead of 40. I'm really going to hunt for a new job next year - I love my kids but I can't survive with my student loans and car payment on a crappy paycheck....D:

I'm definitely looking for a 5 day a week job for the fall!

UGH - and my fiance actually had an interview up here in Orlando and he didn't get the job.....

So...

We just talked...and we decided that he should stop looking for jobs because if I find a new one, I'll have to move...so there's no point in him finding a job for 4 months and then us leasing an apartment because then we'll be stuck there for a year...and I am applying in like 7 different counties so...

I'm sorry things are rough for you right now. I heard that teachers can't claim materials and tools that they, themselves, invest in. Not to mention the fiscal cliff making things tough on those who do the alternative minimum tax. It's a rough tax year for all kinds of people.
