Hello, Menewshans =3 Here I am, with something to discuss at Life Issues... again. It seems to be my most visited forum :(

I was supposed to get my period on Tuesday 26 (not last Tuesday, the one before that), according to my usual 38 day cycle. It never came, only had some light pinkish spotting, which in a few day's time, turned to dark brown spotting. (Sorry if that's TMI).

I decided to wait a while to take the pregnancy test, just to make sure... but it being Easter and all, I couldn't find the time to go this past week. I plan on buying one on Monday. Any suggestions on brands? If it comes out positive, I'll get a blood test done, to be sure.

Truth to be told, chances for me to be pregnant are probably high. I had unprotected sex before and during my ovulation week, so it wouldn't surprise me if I was. Is it normal for be to be feeling any pregnancy symptoms yet?

So far, all I can say is that:
1. I got a strong pain on my legs, right behind the knees
2. I have been getting nauseous, usually at night but not enough to be sick
3. I'm starting to feel slightly bloated
4. I get random but persistent headaches

It could be me being paranoid, but then again, I have no idea. My boyfriend and I have a competition, kind of, where we say how sure we are that I am pregnant. He's around 85% sure  I'd say I'm around 65%.

From an outside view, what do you think? Are these symptoms pointing to a yes?
What are some good brands for pregnancy tests?

Another thing that's bugging my mind is, I wish my boyfriend would come with me to get the test. I need his support, and he knows this. However, he starts his job on Monday, and though I'm sure he can miss the day without much complications, I'm not sure if its fair. I know for a fact he would want to know the results as soon as possible, and he even offered going with me, but I said no, that he should go to work anyway.

I'm regretting saying that, because I'm honestly scared of what the result might be. If its positive, I'm not sure how my nerves will make me react, and I would really, really love it if he was there with me. Is it selfish for me to ask for it? I could call him and tell him to go with me, I'm sure he would be able to... I just don't know if its the right thing to do, you know what I mean?

Sorry for the wall of text, and thank you in advance.

Some of them are pregnancy signs, but they can also point to other things like PID, a stomach bug and so on, but it's a strong chance from what you're saying.

It's not selfish, though you did put yourself in the position by telling him no when you wanted yes. Try talking to him again and state your true feelings and wants though don't get mad at him if he made arrangements thinking it was alright to go on that day. Calm down. You have what sounds like an overall supportive partner, and he probably has his own anxieties over the whole thing and might want to really come along.

Can't point you to any brands since I'm not in your country but good luck.

Thank you, Pa-chinko. I'm going to talk to him tonight and see what he thinks. I know he would want to come, and knows that I said no because I thought it wasn't fair to him... I guess I'll ask him what he wants to do, tell him how I feel, but let him know that its not really pressuring him, just... I guess I need the support now, but if he can't, its just something I'll have to do on my own.

I don't really have anyone else who I could ask to come with me if he can't; I don't have anyone who I'd feel comfortable sharing that moment with.

You could be. the only way to know is to get tested. i think i did my first positive pregnancy test alone, but i can't really remember. i do remember he took me to the doctor to their test though.

i feel like the cheap brands are just as good as the expensive ones, but we are kinda cheap so yeah.

Make sure you use your pee stick in the morning during your first pee!!

I learned that from my gyno  Apparently, that will produce the most accurate results.

As for everything else, I would sound like a broken record repeating my thoughts,
which have already been said. Good luck!!

I'm glad you and your boyfriend are so comfortable you're making a game out it. :P My partner and I would certainly be horrified the whole while.

As far I know, most of the symptoms you'd notice wouldn't start so early in the pregnancy, so I would guess you are experiencing a bit of paranoia. However, if it turns out you are indeed pregnant, congratulations!

Everyone, thank you so much for your input!

I most definitely will get the test done tomorrow, and after talking to him, he said that he would love to go with me. (He wouldn't be able to focus on work anyway if he did go).

I had read somewhere that the first pee was the one with the most hormones, but I wasn't sure! Thank you for clearing that out!

As for the game, its a way for both of us to kill the nerves. We're actually horrified of the outcome, specially with my family being the "no sex before marriage" bunch, and don't even know that I'm sexually active. Facing them and talking to them calmly about it will be one of the hardest steps if it comes out positive.

In any case, thank you for the congratulations! I really don't think I'll be able to get much sleep tonight, and its already midnight! My nerves are killing me! :(

That's great. Good luck and I hope the best turns out for you whatever the outcome may be. :)
