I love anime and manga, but I need ones with a good solid deep plot that I can get behind. My two favorites are: The Betrayl Knows My Name, Durarara and Fullmetal alchemist. I love em because they have depth, as well as comidy and good characters that in ways everyone can relate to on some level. I have also been getting into Vampire Doll and XXXHolic. Any Ideas for some other good ones?

Since you're a fan of 'Durarara!!' I'd recommend 'Baccano!', as they are by the same author (both are originally novels). o: They have a similar craziness.

My personal favorite is called 'Black Bird'. It's a bit of a love story, but theres demons, and fight scenes, power battles, and character growth. It's pretty awesome ^.^
Vampire Doll is pretty great. If you like that, you may like Bloody Cross. It's about this half-breed demoness trying to track down the 'articles of God' in order to make herself a full demon. And she kicks all kinds of butt

I suggest the Hakuouki series. The manga is split into two, with three season as an anime and several ost.

I personally like it since it's falls in my favorite era and most of it is based on historical facts.
The series begin with a girl named Yukimura Chizuru, who travels to Kyoto to find her missing father. Due to certain circumstances she ends up staying with the Shinsengumi, warriors who believe in the ideology of the samurai. Season one follow the strength of the Shinsengumi and it's climax when war breaks out between Aizu and Satsuma/Chousuu. The second season follows the decline of the Aizu/Shinsengumi. The leader of the Shinsengumi continues to fight for his country and men, but he soon succumb to death. Toshizou had became a fury by the Onimizu for the strength to protect his ideals. The last episode featured him and a demon named Kazama Chikage battling. Chikage died, and it is most likely Toshizou is still alive since he hadn't turned to dust.
Zetman's got an pretty good plot, IMHO, and Berserk, Claymore, Monster, etc...though their drawing styles may not be what most people seem to prefer. o 3o

I personally recommend Pandora Hearts, the plot is still full of mysteries after more than 70 chapters so I think that speak for itself about it's quality :3!

You could check out Bokurano. It's in the same vein as something like NaruTaru-- you could watch the anime first, then finish it with the manga, or skip the anime all together and go straight to the manga, which is more thorough and complete. However, if you're looking for something cute, you should try Usagi Drop. It's a very simplistic plot, but it's a good anime/manga to pass the time away (spoiler/warning, the manga continues where the anime left off and the plot focuses more on romance afterwards)

For something that's purely manga, try Claymore. Oh, and Great Teacher Onizuka for a classic! If you like harems, The World God Only Knows is starting to pick up a plot.

It's been a while since I've read any manga though, so I'm sure there are other options that are better or more suited to your taste. ^^

I thought 20th Century Boys by Naoki Urasawa had a very intriguing plot and the refreshing thing about it is that the characters not only have different personalities, like you'd expect, but they all look very different too. Same can be said about Monster.

Okay from what I saw in what you like I assume that you like fighting manga. I highly recommend Gatch Bell if you haven't already read it. That manga was just ridiculously good. It may seem a little lighthearted at times but just trust me its actually very emotionally moving. If you like things involving the Shinsengumi then another great read is Kaze Hikaru its mainly from a girls perspective but its rather humorous and it gives a very detailed account and mostly accurate account of the Shinsengumi. I also want to mention Kamisama Hajimemashita but that's my inner girl coming out of me. I do reccomend reading Kurogane (Keozawa) at least I think the authors name is Keozawa...anyway its about this kid who is extremely unathletic learning kendo which he is surprisingly good at because he has these eyes that can see impossibly minute details. It got cut short but still a satisfying read. I will be back with you on some others bc this is on my tablet andits starting to. Lock up on me...plus I have more manga bookmarked on my laptop :-)

People have already named all of the ones I was going to name xD

Uhm, the only one I can think of right now is Death Note. It has a good plot in my eyes.

Baccano is fantastic. I love how the used the characters/name of the show in Durarara!!'s storyline x3
