Jo jumped a little when Ella hugged her from behind, accidentally letting go of the cabinet door she had just started to open. It closed with a thump, and Jo turned in the other woman's arms to give her a hug back. "You don't have to do that right now, I tend to like things like bread for breakfast," she said, fingers already tangling in her hair. "I still have some travel food that I put away, I packed more than I needed in case I got lost or something."

"oh, alright" Ella remarked lamely, her eyes slipping closed as the other began to play with her hair. She whimpered softly but couldn't help but brush her lips across Jo's and hug her slightly closer. Lord how the other girl's touch inflamed her.... it took all she had to keep from deepening the kiss and touching her more. Jo's warmth was irresistible... But she forced herself to break the kiss and trailed small kisses over jo's jaw then down over her throat before she rested her head on the other woman's shoulder. She stayed quiet a moment and simply held the other woman gently.

"I wonder... do you have any idea how much you tempt me?" She whispered softly in the other woman's ear. She stayed snuggled against her and closed her eyes again as she simply enjoyed the other woman's warmth. She was so sweet... her flesh so soft. She wanted to taste it, everywhere... but for now she would satisfy herself with only her lips and throat. Unless of course the other girl objected, then she would restrain herself from even this once more.

The first kiss made Jo's eyes widen slightly, but the trail made her close them and tip her head back to give a hum of pleasure. Just... everything Ella did seemed to make part of her want, and she wasn't used to it. She fought to bring her head back forward and open her eyes, looking at the other woman when she spoke.

She thought about the question a moment. "Well, I think I can ask the same of you," she whispered, answer not consulting most of her mind before coming out. She blushed, looking away for a moment. "Everything from the way you move to the coolness of your skin..."

"then perhaps you do know" Ella said after a moment of quiet. She smiled softly and held the other girl slightly tighter. She then kissed her mouth lovingly. She wanted so much to just drag her back to the bed but she did nothing but trail her fingers up and down Jo's spine a moment as she kissed her. It was a deep kiss, filled with need and desire yet slowly she drew herself away only to nip the other woman's ear teasingly.

"You need to get breakfast" She whispered lightly before stepping back slowly. She held her arms behind her back and simply smiled at the other woman. After all that had been bothering her..... the innocent warmth of Jo was revitalizing. It calmed her and soothed her as nothing else she had ever found before. She smiled warmly at the other woman and would let her eat in peace unmolested now...

She wanted so badly to do more, and the need in the kiss Ella gave made it worse. She took a small gasp of air after the kiss, letting it out in a squeak when her ear got nibbled on. Her hand went up to protect it as the other woman stepped away, and she watched her for a few moments.

Letting out a sigh and mentally beating down certain thoughts while blushing at them, she turned back to the cupboard, pulling out a flatbread and small jar of something that smelled sweet and slightly spicy. She took them over to the table, sitting down and starting to rip strips of the flatbread off and dipping them into the jar, kinda like chips and dip.

Ella shivered at the other woman's reactions, so tempted to do more. Still, she kept control and moved to the table to sit across from her. She smiled lightly at the other woman as she ate. She leaned forward, laying her head on her arms. She was adorable really, even as she ate. She couldn't help but feel the urge to tease her rise and she watched for an opportunity where Jo had swallowed but hadn't taken another bite so she wouldn't choke.

"Do you not like your ears nibbled beloved?" She teased lightly and playfully licked her lips as if to remember how it tasted. She couldn't help but smirk a little at the other woman. She wondered genuinely honestly as well, however. The way she protected it... but maybe she was simply not use to it. She wanted to know so she could tailor her touches to the other woman's desires.

Jo blushed, looking down at her breakfast and tearing another strip off. "It's more like the whole area is sensitive. In gryphon form, it's where we preen for... intimate isn't the right word... close greetings and goodbyes," she explained as she dipped the strip into the jar. "Do you want to try some, or can't you actually eat? I'm not sure." She held the piece out, hoping she could, and hoping that she hadn't accidentally offended Ella. It was also a way to try and change the subject. "The dip is tahini, sesame seed past with curry and honey."

"I don't eat.... and Oh? Does that mean I am not close to you enough to greet you so? Ella teased lightly, after she raised a hand to shoo away the offer of food. She seemed to amused to be offended and having fun watching the girl seem so uncertain. It truly reminded her of where they had met, even if inwardly she wondered how long that innocence would last. She could not leave her here with the hunters that came here so that meant she would have to take Jo with her on murder investigations. At least then they tended to find humans with no special powers or training so Jo's dying then was unlikely to say the least.

Jo pulled the food back, fidgeting in the chair. "That's not it, it's just that, well, I've really only been around you for... two days now," she said, before eating the piece in her hand. It was strange, feeling so close after such a short time. There had been a term used occasionally in Eerie for couples that sprung up only a few days after meeting each other. Usually at least one of the couple came from outside the city, and the term had only been used with couples that stayed together forever. What had that term been...?

"well... If you need me to slow down I can, I don't want to make you uncomfortable" She responded after a moments thought. All amusement and teasing faded as she gazed at the other woman seriously. She knew her glowing green, pupilless eyes could be eerie to some but they hadn't seemed to bother Jo before so she expected they wouldn't now. She was just so uncertain really... what Jo wanted. Then again, Ella had a feeling Jo was uncertain too.

The statement made Jo's thoughts pause, and she looked back up at Ella. Slow down? "Maybe just a little," she said quietly, blush still on her cheeks. "I haven't really been in a real relationship before, remember?" That term... would it apply to her, them? Soul-bonded, that's what they were called. And the mages claimed there was a connection, or bond, between the two that was unbreakable, and drew them together. They could even share emotions...

She stared into Ella's green orbs as the thoughts ran through her mind, as if her eyes had helped her remember the answer. She tried mentally shaking off the feeling, looking back down at her food suddenly. "Should we go into town today and pick things up? And should I bring a few pieces of work with me to see if anyone will sell them for me?" Focus on what was important now, stop getting lost in you head, silly bird! She scolded herself silently, thinking of the Bonded wouldn't make her one. It was a rare thing. And she would need more food in the house soon, what she had packed, while nutritious, wasn't really varied in flavors, and she was already starting to get sick of them. She wanted to try regional foods.

She wasn't sure how much she could slow down further then she had but she nodded, as if agreeing to this. She tilted her head to the side in thought as she changed the subject and mulled it over a moment. It would be as good a time to enter the town as any... even if she worried a little about the reaction other people might have. She had never brought a living person along with her before but hopefully it would be alright. She decided and went to get dressed, saying over her shoulder

"Sure...whenever you're ready..."

Jo nodded, mind already flying to her mental list of finished pieces she could bring with. She continued eating as she thought, finally deciding on three to bring with. A pair of silver and garnet earrings, chains dangling with a gem chip hooked onto each link; a copper and brass spiraled cuff with semi-ornate orbs at the ends; and a silver necklace that almost looked like lace studded with moonstone and opal.

She stood as she finished the last piece of flatbread, putting the cap on the jar and turning to put it away again. She momentarily wondered if they made anything like that around here, or if perhaps it was imported. That would be nice. The thought fell away as she went into her work room to pick up the three items, tucking them gently into silk bags. These she carried with her back to the bedroom.

Stopping outside the door, she knocked lightly. "Is it alright if I come in? I'm not exactly dressed to go out... and I need a purse or bag," she called. And maybe some jewelry of her own to wear, an ear cuff or bracelet.

Ella exited dressed in a long skirt and a delicate, demure top. It seemed to put people more at ease for her to look like a 'girl', harmless and gentle. She smiled to herself as she heard Jo, however, and brought two bags with her. Her own dusty one and a pristine one made to match the other woman's outfit. She held it out to the other woman and kissed her cheek ever so gently. She then whispered something softly.

"You never have to knock with me love." She said with a soft chuckle. She would then wait until the other woman had the purse before she turned and began to lead her towards town. She said nothing at first and simply looked at the sky. In her hand was a small ball of water as if she was afraid of what would happen. She entered the town with her hand firmly in Jo's hand as everyone gazed over them suspiciously.

Some of the town's people still had injuries visible on their forms for the attack... some of the injuries magical in nature, cursed, so that though Ella could help and numb the wound she could not fully heal them. Mothers pulled their children a little closer, everyone's eyes on Jo. They glanced at Ella every few minutes and it was clear how scared they were. Each face seemed to hold the same question... 'You wouldn't bring someone who would hurt us would you?' It was a community still in a lot of pain and deeply frightened, that much was clear.
