"I'm having one built for the sheep," Hazel said. "It won't be hard to ask for another one to be built. What do we need it for?"

"Big cat," Kaladin said with a grin. "Very big cat. You'll see in a few more days, when I get the two back."

Hazel blinked.

"What did you find?" she asked finally. She got the feeling that he didn't just mean something like a big housecat.

"A male cerberus, ironically enough. And an entirely new creature that no one's seen before." Kaladin grinned briefly. "You'll see when they both get here in a few more days."

"Well, the cerberus can join the other two we got from the other ranch," Hazel said. "Unless there's a reason it shouldn't." She wondered what the other creature could be, but got the feeling he wasn't going to tell her what it was yet.

"Nah, he should get along fine with the other two. Although we might end up with some cerberi pups." Kaladin grinned at her and moved over to her again, hugging her.

"I'm glad to be back."

Hazel hugged him as well, holding on tightly.

"I'm glad you're home, too," she replied softly.

Seamus had happened upon the two a few moments before, but kept his distance with a smirk. Oh yes, his brother had it bad for Hazel if he went to her as soon as he got back without even seeing Seamus beforehand. But he didn't interrupt them, instead going to check on the pygmy sheep for a few minutes to give them some time.

Kaladin smiled and held her for a few moments before he set her down again.

"Now, I need to go check in with Seamus. And set up somewhere for the new creature."

"Alright," Hazel replied. She reluctantly let him go. "I should get back to to the building, anyways."

"I'll come back in so we can talk more later." Kaladin smiled at her before stepping back and going to find Seamus.

"Alright," Hazel replied. Once he was gone, she headed back to the main building.

Seamus wasn't quite expecting his brother to show up so quickly, and didn't have any sort of snarky greeting ready.

"Welcome back," he said.

"Thanks." Kaladin grinned at him briefly. "Well, I was successful." He grinned at Seamus. "I'm now equivalent to a lord, pretty much. And see, I'm back in one piece."

"I bet Hazel was glad to see you," Seamus teased, grinning. "And I bet you're glad now that you can court her without causing an uprising."

Kaladin grinned. "Damn straight," he agreed. "Life is good for the moment. Oh, and we'll have two new creatures to deal with in a few more days. Just so you know. And now you can't complain that I don't tell you things."

"Two new things?" Seamus asked incredulously. "What did you drag back with you? The same thing that gave you that?" He pointed to Kaladin's new scar.

"One of them, yeah. The other one is a male cerberus." Kaladin shrugged. "Apparently I'm just awesome enough to get a rare wild creature and discover a whole new species on my first and only finding trip."

"Sure you're not going to take any more trips?" Seamus asked. "I mean, with luck like that, you could get very rich. You might even get richer than Hazel."

Kaladin shrugged. "I doubt it. I don't much like going out there and having to worry about staying alive. Besides, I missed a lot while I was gone." And, much as he hated to admit it, even if he'd gotten lucky he knew he wouldn't be lucky twice. Some of the other finders who'd been out there had clearly seen better days. And not all of them had all their limbs left, either.

"Well, either way, it's good you're back," Seamus replied. He put a hand on his brother's shoulder. "She missed you, you know. Worried herself sick a few times."

Kaladin smiled a little. "Well, I guess I have even better chances now." He was quiet for a moment. "What about you? How are you progressing with yours?" Because his little brother's love life (or lack thereof) was clearly important too.

"I've gotten her to kiss me," Seamus replied after a moment. "I do think she likes me. It's just difficult, she's kind of bashful."

"That just means you have to try harder." Kaladin shrugged. "You tried dragging her into the gryphon cage for some privacy? 'Cause no one else is stupid enough to go in there, but they're used to you two."

"I thought about it," Seamus admitted. "But you gotta pay attention around gryphons, which defeats the purpose."

"Behind the gryphon cage, then. Their cage is pretty sheltered, no one would even see you on the other side." Kaladin shrugged. Hey, he knew other people had gotten away with it before.

"Maybe," Seamus mused. It was something to keep in mind. He looked at his brother. "Now that you're like a lord, you may want to be careful. I bet all the ladies will be after you." He gave his brother a shit-eating grin.
