Byakaya never did sleep long as that had been happen more and more lately. He sits up out of bed and sighs deeply there was only one thing that did help him sleep. It would seem odd at this time of the night but he grown used to it. He pulls the covers off him not bothering getting dressed he just keeps what he was wearing on. But he did grab his sword and his zanpakutō, moving to the window and leaves thru it. He makes his way out passing Toshiro but he would be like as shadow passing by his window since he was using his flash step. Byakaya contunues he reaches outside of the Soul Society and in the forest to his training area he likes to used. There was a risk that he could be attack by Hollows but he could take care of them easily. He stops once he reaches to the waterfalls that was surrounded by cherry blossom trees and they was always in bloom each time he came. It was like the trees was greeting their master or something. Byakaya removes his shirt but keeps his pants on as he begans to train under the moon light and the sound of the waterfalls.

Toshiro tossed and turned as he called out in his sleep. He was having one of those "falling dreams" where he would wake up right before he hit the cold ground. Yelling out again, he opened his eyes as he looked around in his room. Cold sweat dripped from his forehead. He wiped his brow, and then looked over towards the window. By the position of the moon he could tell that the sun would be rising in a few more hours. He knew that he should probably just go back to bed, but something told him that he wasn't going to be getting much more sleep. Kicking his feet from under the covers, he padded his way over to the window as he leaned against the frame. He didn't have screens since it rarely rained in the Soul Society if ever. Letting the wind toss his hair around, he climbed over the edge and out onto the grass. There was an area that was covered in grass where he liked to sit and mediate. His nerves were so jumbled right now but he didn't know if it was because of the dream, or the match that he would be having with Byakuya tomorrow. Something told him, though, that it was the later.

There was a roar that made Byakaya stop. He turns a look around as he didn't remember seeing any animals around. There was spirit animals living here but not close to the spring. Thinking nothing else about it he turns and continues with his training. The the roar got much louder and closer to where Byakaya thats when he notices its spiritilty pressure. It was no animal but a hollow. As a hollow had tracked the captain to this spot. The hollow's claws came down but barely misses Byakaya as he had jumped out of the way landin ontop of the cliff of the water fall. Thinking he could take care of it another came of nowhere from behind. He nearly miss that one also. Two against one...he was completely out number. Instead of grabbing his normal sword his hand went directed to his zanpakutō. "Think you two got me surpise huh." Byakaya was fighting the hollows while the alarms at the Soul Society when off.

Toshiro opened his eyes as he looked towards the mountains. He could feel it in the air. The air was thick with hollow energy. Running back in through the window, he grabbed his zanpakuto and went running out the door. Stopping by his office he found Rangiku looking around the room as a confused look crossed her face. "Go back to bed," said Toshiro. "You're in no condition to fight." She nodded groggily as she went to lay back down on the couch that she was on. Toshiro ran out of the complex and towards the waterfall where he knew that the hollow was. Flash stepping he found himself in front of the waterfall. He sensed Byakuya as well. He grimaced, sadly right now he didn't want to see the other male. He was still confused about his feelings for the other male, and right now all he wanted to do was sleep on it.

He knew this was going to be a tough battle. And he wasn't going to let them head toward town they had to die here. He glares at them and helds out his zanpakuto "Scatter" and Senbonzakura goes into tiny little pieces that almost look like cherry blossom leaves. Thats why his zanpakuto was named Senhonzakura. Byakuya hold onto the only thing he had left of his sword which was the handle. As the pieces of Senhonzakura circles around him as he would easily take out the hollows.

As soon as he got to the waterfall he felt the spiritual pressure of both the Hollow and Byakuya releasing his zanpakuto. It made his stagger a little bit. He breathed out, allowing himself to gain some of his composure back as he concentrated on his own spirit. He heard the hollow rather than saw it as it attacked him. Dodging quickly, he got into a fighting stance. He charged forward as he pushed the hollow away with his own blade. "Rain over the frosted Heavens, Hyorinmaru!" he yelled as his own blade came to life. He figured that he would be able to dispatch this hollow, and then by that time Byakuya would have destroyed his as well. With that done he would be able to retreat, so as to not speak to the other. It wasn't that he hated the other male, by far the opposite, but right now he didn't know he would be able to think coherently about this current predicament.

The raven hair felt Toshiro's spiritual pressure and he quickly finished off his hollow before he heads to see if Toshiro needed any help. He stops watching Toshiro release his zanpakuto and it was the first time he saw it before. Not any captians seen the other captains power before. So this was a rare sight to see. Byakuya sighs deeply as he jumps down and grabs his shirt before he puts it on once after putting his zanpakuto back into its shethed. Byakuya knew the other wasn't still comfortable around him now so he left quickly and headed back to the soul society to report back on what had happen. There had been more of this every day so something was going on. Maybe it had to do with those who had left in the chaos surround his sister's imprisonment and almost execute. But he is glad his sister was still alive and back.

Toshiro finished up with his hollow quickly. He sheathed his sword back into its scabbard as he landed on the ground. He could see some sakura petals floating through the air, and he let out a sigh. He yawned, he was very tired. He caught one of the floating petals, and held it out in his hand. He brought it closer to his nose as he inhaled deeply. It smelled of cherry blossoms, and something more masculine. He let out another sigh as he let the petal fall to the ground. He began flash stepping back towards the dorm area.

Once in his room he stripped off his hakama, and then fell asleep on his tatami mat.

Byakuya rolls over once the morning light shines thru the window hitting him. He was sore from last night's battle. So there was some doubts he would be able to be in top form for him and Toshiro's little spar infront of the trainees. He rolls over pulling the cover over his head. Renji enters his room slowly and stares at his captian and sighs "Aren't you going to be late?" Byakuya peeks out from under his covers "I get up when I am ready...go tend to your duties, Renji." says kinda coldly. Renji huffs before he shakes his head and leaves to head to the training ground figuring Byakuya will join soon.

Toshiro hadn't gotten much sleep after the initial hollow attack the previous night. Yes, the threat had been taken care of. Yes, he had used much of his spirit energy. Yes, he was tired, and yes, he would be seeing the other male, again. Toshiro let out a groan as he got up from his bed to look at the sun that was rising too quickly over the horizon. This was going to be one heck of day. He walked over to his wardrobe grabbed his haori, and the other various parts of his uniform as he made his way slowly out to the showers.

He showered quickly, dressed hastily, and then summoned the rest of the team to meet him outside of the gates so they could make their trek together to Byakuya's building. Their training room was bigger, and it would be enough space for the whole team to sit comfortably. It would also allocate enough room for the two of them to fight to their fullest potentials without releasing their spirits.

As they approached the entrance to the other's building Toshiro swallowed down a lump in his throat. He was beginning to break out into a cold sweat even though it was frigid outside in the morning air. Why was he so nervous?

Renji waits for the other squad to come so he would greet them. Renji saw Toshiro and his squad come then he walks towards them "Welcome Captain Hitsugaya....Captain Kuchiki will be down shortly...he just having trouble getting up.." says in annoyed tone. He wasn't really thrilled about his captain having a crush on Toshiro. He was always the jealous type and didn't want anyone having Byakaya. "Just make yourself comfortable...while I go check on Captain..." before Renji finishes. Byakaya enters fully dressed and ready "There is no need I'm here..." says walking into the door looking over at his lieutenant then looks over at Captain Hitsugaya "I am glad to see you have made it with your squad...shall we get started showing our men how true soul reapers fight?" says calmy and with no emotion. He never shows his emotion infront of his men in a serious manner.

Toshiro stood in front of the door as he reached for the sliding part. Before he could do anything else, it slid open for him, revealing Renji standing in front of him. Toshiro never understood why the other male didn't like him, and quite frankly he preferred it that way. He never much liked the other male either. Toshiro looked at Byakuya and he smiled at him. "Good morning," he said as he continued to walk past the other. He knew that he was being rude to the other, but this was neither the time or the place to discuss what had transpired the previous night. There was plenty time to talk about that after the two of them were done with their spar together. Toshiro walked into the training hall where he eyed the rest of the team that was led by Captain Kuchiki. He motioned for Rangiku to take the students and sit on either side of the room so that they could all see. She nodded her head, instructing the students to sit on either side of the main middle area.

Byakaya walks over onto the other side where his students was. He clears his throat before he speaks 'Your all here today because most of you are showing pour skills. This is going to be simulation of what a real battle will be. Hopefully this will make you work hard or be send back to the academy." spoke boldly to the others. Byakaya takes a deep breath before he looks over at Toshiro and nods to him that it was time to began. "Don't hold back." He draws his sword and then begans to take charge at Toshiro. He held tightly on the hilt of his sword and would swing it at him quickly.

Toshiro cast his eyes downward when he heard the other captain chastising the other cadets. It was embarrassing, but he knew that it had to be said to them for them to understand the severity of their actions if nothing changed. Turning his gaze upwards again, he looked at Byakuya as he came charging towards him sword raised. He breathed out and unsheathed his own sword as he too went running towards the other. At the last second he flash stepped to the left of the other and threw his blade forward with all his might. The other had said that holding back wasn't an option, but still it was a sparring match between captains and friends. They were friends right. Yeah friends. That was good, but were they more. More what? More than friends? The other had kissed him. Friends did that right? No! Friends didn't do that. Lovers did. People that cared for each other a lot kissed one another. Toshiro shook his head back and forth, and thus doing so lost some of his balance. He tried to right himself before he slipped to the ground, but he didn't make it in time and he ended up in a kneeling position. His mind racing on what his next move would be, and that of the other's as well.

Byakuya could tell the other male was a bit distracted by something else. By the way he moved and reacted toward his attacks it was best to stop. He puts his sword back before he sighs deeply. "I think it is best to stop for today. You seem a bit distracted and I'm sure its best to end this before someone gets hurt." He turns and winces a bit as during last night fight cause him to get wounded. Renji notice something red showing up in his captain's clothing. "Captain, your wound.." stepping over. Byakuya looks down at his hip and notice it "Its ok, Renji. I'll take care of it." looking over at Renji before looking over at Toshiro "Stop by my room later..I need to take care of this." Renji looks back over to Byakuya "I will help help you back to your room." taking his captain's arm. But Byakuya shakes his head and pushes him back "No I can make it back there you tend to the others."says before leaving the room. Renji crosses his arms and grinds his teeth as he mumbles under his breath "Why must he always deny me I am so much better than him?"

Toshiro looked towards the other male as he heard him say that they should stop their spar. He breathed a sigh of relief. The fight with the hollows the previous night really had tired him out more than normal. Maybe he was getting a tad out of shape. It had become pretty quiet as of late, and he was becoming complacent, lazy even. Toshiro watched as the other male, Renji, began fussing around the other male. Toshiro raised an eyebrow, what was going on that had the red head so frazzled. Something about blood. Blood?! Toshiro sidestepped to get a better look at the other male, and noticed that the others uniform was stained with crimson.

"Captain," said Torshiro. He reached out with his hand, but stopped when the other said that they could meet later in the evening. It was for the best after all. Sure, he wanted to talk to Byakuya, but Toshiro also knew that getting his wound fixed up was more important. "Very well." He readjusted his hakama before he looked to the other members of his squad. "Well even from our small demonstration you all should be able to replicate some of our moves. Train hard." He turned towards Rangiku and said," I am going out for a walk. Escort the other members back to our base or if we are meant to stay here, make sure to keep them quiet." He didn't leave room for argument because as soon as he was done talking, he turned around and walked towards the double set of sliding door that they had all initially entered from. He would see the captain in due time, but right now he needed to attend to his current frazzled mental state.

Renji turns around once after Byakuya had exit the room. Rukia, Byakuya's sister was helping out with the group and saw her brother leave. She knew there was something going on between Byakuya and Toshiro. She really want them to be together but it wasn't her place to say anything. "I'm going to check on the captain."heads to the door before she stops. She turns around and looks over at Toshiro. "Hmm should I escort you to my brother's chamber, Captain?" says ignoring the glare that Renji was giving her. She knew Renji was jealous but who knows how jealous he was. Hopefully nothing would happen. But you could never tell with Renji he was a hot head just like Ichiro.

Byakuya closes the door behind him and leans against it for an moment before he winces. "Damn that hollow did a number on me..." says to himself. At lease it wasn't that bad that would damage his power. He pushes himself off the door and head to the bathroom to clean himself up and put another bandage on his side.

Once outside, he wanted to mentally smack himself. How could he let his emotions get the best of him?! It was inexcusable. Totally outrageous! He let his eyes slide closed as he tried to control his overly frazzled emotions, but was shaken from them when he heard the tentative voice of Byakuya's sister, Rukia asking if he wanted to go see the captain. "Yes, I mean, No. I mean," stuttered Toshiro as he ran a hand through his locks of hair. He was stuttering like a moron. "I guess," replied Toshiro finally. How could he rationalize this. "I mean after all, I haven't properly thanked him yet for." He paused. Should he say anything to her about what had happened the previous night. Sure, it wasn't uncommon for Hollows to attack this close to home, but he figured if she hadn't heard about it already she would hear it eventually. " Helping out with the Hollow issue." He swallowed as he tried to calm his nerves again. "I guess lead the way," said Toshiro as he came to stand next to Rukia. He had no idea where the other male had gone off to.

Rukia nods and leads the way to their manor. "Yea I heard about that....It seems strange for hollows to try to attack so close. It makes me wonder what Aizen is planning." sighs deeply looking down. She shakes her head looking over at the captain "I would have got there sooner but by the time I got close you two had took care of it. It is nice that you was there to help him." smiles lightly.

They finally got to her brother's studies door before she knocks on it. "Captain Hitsugaya is here shall I let him in?" Byakuya had return to the studies once he finished his bandaging and puts clean clothes on. He looks over at the door and hearing Rukia before he spoke. "Yes let him in, Rukia..." says as he flips open files on the desk reading them on. The door opens as Rukia looks over at Toshiro and smiles at him "Good luck...I need to get back before Abarai gives the others more trouble than they are in." sighs before turning and heading down the hall.

Toshiro followed closely behind Rukia as he tried to make his jumbled thoughts settle. He vaguely listened to what the other was saying. He knew that Aizen was the biggest threat right now, but he right now he was being selfish and he seemed to have more pressing matters to attend to. For example, his shattered emotional state because of a certain other captain.

Toshiro was so deep in thought that he almost ran into the back of Rukia when the female had stopped in front of study room where Byakuya was. Toshiro heard Rukia's voice and froze. Maybe he could disappear right now, but it was too late for she was soon answered by the other's melodious voice, beckoning him into the room. Swallowing, he thanked Rukia for walking him to the study. He would have gotten lost if he had gone on his own, for that he was sure of.

The door slid open, and soon he was alone in a hallway because Rukia had gone back to the training hall to quell the red head's anger. Walking into the room, he came to stand in front of the desk. There was a chair set in front of the desk in front of Byakuya, but Toshiro didn't sit down. He thought it would have been rude of him to be presumptuous of the other's hospitality. He had his hands behind his back as he continued to stand there. He finally said," I hope that our small training spar has given the recruits something to work towards." God, he sounded like a moron, but he needed something to diffuse the tension, the tension that was coming from him.

Byakuya stares out of the window when Toshiro enters the room. "I agree...I have seen a few of the recruits watching us closely. So I'm sure they will work hard next time." says before he turns around to face him. He nibbles his lip "About what happen yesterday...I want to say thank you. For help me with the hollows." says walking over infront of the desk and leans against it. "Those hollows have become more stronger than most of the hollows."He had been worried about this since yesterday so he praticely had forgot about what happen before.

Byakuya had decide to not put to much pressure on Toshiro with the relationship thing. He really wanted to love the boy and care about him like he did with his late wife. But it wouldn't help if he scare Toshiro away.

Toshiro eyed the other male as he was behind the desk still. Still he was a safe distance away. Safe distance? Since when did he start thinking of Byakuya in that kind of manner? Toshiro scoffed, this was no way for him to think about the other captain. He nodded his head when Byakuya, again, thanked him for helping him when the Hollows had attacked. What was he going to do watch from the sidelines as one of the other captains took care of it? He wasn't that kind of person, and that night he had to blow off some steam anyway. "You would have done the same for me had I been in your position, Captain Kuchiki," said Toshiro rather flatly. Toshiro felt bad right after he said that since he had come off as a bit harsh and callus.

Toshiro shuffled as the silence came back into the room again. There was something just off putting about the other male. Well, it wasn't the other man himself, but just the atmosphere. Toshiro felt like running away, anywhere where the other male wasn't going to be. He shook his head, as he glanced at the other male. Clearing his throat he said rather timidly,"You know that kiss wasn't completely unenjoyable." He placed his fingertips on his lips as if tracing where the other had kissed him earlier in the day."In fact," he paused, looking at the ground as he thought of what he would say next. It was rather pleasant to think that someone cared about him enough to show him physical affection. The last person to have done that was his Grandmother who he had left in the city when he joined the ranks. He could feel a blush begin to creep up on his cheeks, and he knew that if he looked up he couldn't stop the blush from spreading.

Byakuya watches him before he looks down and closes his eyes. "Yea I still am puzzle why they was there in the first place so close." opens his eyes looking up at him. Before hearing what Toshiro had said it was something he never thought he would hear from him. But he felt a little guilty that he made Toshiro act like he did. "Really? Well that's something...I never heard before. For a moment I though did something to make you not like me." chuckles lightly. He looks at him as he pushes himself of the desk and walks over to him. "But I don't think I should had did that so soon..."Byakuya stares at him and thought it was cute seeing Toshiro blushing like that. It was so temping to pull the male into his arms and kiss him again but he didn't want to scare him away again.

Toshiro let out a small sigh. He was happy that the other male hadn't brought anything up about their previous encounter. It would be just like him to be blunt and to the point. However, he also had the grace of befitting a Kuchiki so he knew that he might not say anything either. He stiffened a little when he saw the other male approach him, but then his shoulders slumped a little bit as he tried to steady his breathing. Byakuya was practically in front of him. It would be so easy for him to just walk the two extra feet and lean forward. Why did his feet feel like lead. Swallowing, he glanced towards the other male, and let out a small gasp. The other male, even though injured, still held the air of regality. It practically wafted off of him in waves.

He listened to what the other male had said, and before he could stop himself he blurted out," Of course I like you." He shut his mouth immediately. Had Byakuya heard him. Maybe he interpreted what he had said to mean that he liked him as a comrade, a mentor kind of thing. Surely, the other didn't think that he adored him, or that he wanted their friendship to become something more. Right? Toshiro didn't know if his rampant mind was trying to get him out of something, or if it was making him look that much more guilty. Either way he could feel the flush on his face, and he knew that he needed to find another escape route soon before things escalated.

He liked him? Byakaya thought it made him wonder how much he liked him. There was a part of him hoping that he liked him more as a friend. Only if that would be possible. No.....it was possible it had to be. He wanted Toshiro more as a comrade....more as a friend. He wanted him as a lover even thought he knew he still was in mourning of his late wife. But he knew she would wanted him to move on with his life and not live in the past. One reason why he decided to abopted Rukia as his little sister. But now he needed to have love bought back to him. It's been to long and he was growing tired of it until now. Byakuya just needed to get Toshiro to see that hopefully.

He steps forward but with the blood lost he just collapse to his knees. He reaches up and holds over where his wound was on his side. "Stupid me...I shouldn't have fought you today knowing the medic squad told me not to." he mumbles. "I guess my stubbornness is one thing I can never get rid of. Just like my love for you Toshiro." looking up at Toshiro. "You may always run away from me. But I know somewhere you know the truth no matter how much you run away. You remind me so much like her.
