Our Young Lords, Butler-less
HarukiAi as Alois Trancy
DivineSin as Ciel Phantomhive
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The sun was piercing through the white sheer curtains in front of the large bay window. It caste shadows that danced about the room as the curtains lightly blew in the non-existent wind. There were birds just beyond the glass chirpings every so little as if not to disturb the occupant of the room. “Mmm…Sebastian…” The muffled voice came from behind a pillow as the shirts began to bunch to the new movement beneath them. “Sebastian..” This time the words were clearer. Blue-grey hair began to peek through from underneath the pillow and the sun’s rays caught it illuminating it ever so softly. “Where are you? This isn’t a time for your twisted jokes.” The boy said irritably as he fumbled about with his blanket. Yet, there was no answer to his question, nothing, but the chirping of birds outside his window. The sapphire blue of his eye was still cloudy with sleep as he peered at the light was bathing the floor of the room. While the contact in his other was glowing brightly as it always did. “This is not funny.” He huffed out as he pushed himself off his bed ruffling his tousled hair into a more presentable style. The floor was warm as he padded against it to the doors to his wardrobe. He pulled it open and looked in with annoyance plastered on his face. What was he to wear; these things were not normally his choice to make. The boy reached out and grabbed something as he whirled around in frustration. He didn’t know if what he had grabbed was something suitable for his day’s activities or not. It looked like something that his Butler might put him in so it was what he reached for. He began to fumble with the buttons on his night shirt, but managed to pull himself out of it. He throw a glance in the direction the clothing he was about to put himself into. It didn’t look all that difficult to him.
“Ah!!” There was a loud crash that accompanied the boys scream as the small boy fell to the floor with his legs tangled in the breeches that he had been attempting to put on. He had lost his balance as he tried to work his way into it. The undershirt he had managed to slip into was incorrectly buttoned revealing flesh through the gaps. “My young lord, are yo- …” A female voice came from around the corner, but was silenced as her eyes caught sight of her master sprawled out on the floor. “Oh, em- I was- …Just…Please forgive me!” She shrieked loudly as she bowed her head. The boys eyes looked up at her with humiliation and anger. “Help me up, May-Rin.” He huffed out as he sat up. She looked up with look of shock plain as her face. “Y-Yes!” She fumbled forward reaching out as she looked anywhere, but at her young lord. Another huff of annoyance managed to escape the boy’s lips as he reached forward and grabbed her hand. Her hand was trembling as she reached forward to help him, but he grabbed it firmly pulling himself up off the floor. He released he hand immediately turning his attention to the ruffled clothing he had on. “Help me dress.” He ordered as he turned around wanting to look anywhere, but at her as he asked for her help. ‘Where is Sebastian? I’ll have his head for this.’ He thought. “Y-Yes, Young Lord!” She said loudly as she fumbled to collect the clothes that had fallen to the floor with him. He closed his eyes lowering his head allowing his blue-grey hair to cover his face. He felt he fingers lightly guiding his clothing onto him. They were trembling as they worked the clothing onto him. He let out a sigh as he felt her step away from him. “Where is Sebastian?” He asked in pure annoyance at this idiotic game his Butler was playing with him. It had gone far enough. “H-He has gone out for the day…” His head whipped around looking up at her with disbelief as he heard her words being uttered to him. “Out for the day? …” He repeated to himself. “He did not mention such a thing to me…”
He hadn’t heard from his Butler of such a ‘Day out’ nor had Sebastian ever asked for such a thing. It wasn’t something a Butler should do, or should he say a Demon. He had no need for such a thing all that he needed was placed before him. “Damn it, Sebastian.” He hissed out in frustration as he paced his study. “Yo-Young Lord, there is a letter here for you.” He looked up at the Sound of May-Rin’s voice drifting through the door. “Come in.” He muttered as he walked to the chair behind his desk and sat down. She fumbled with the door as she made her way to the desk all the way with her head pointed to the floor with no eye contract. “Here you are, Young Lord.” He reached out plucking the letter from her finger as he shooed her away with his free hand. ‘Ciel Phantomhive.’ That was all that was written on the outside of the letter though the stamp that sealed it shut was all too familiar to him. It was the Trancy’s emblem a Spider. He looked down at it with caution. ‘Why would he want to contact me?’ His fingers traced the edge of the stamp lightly. His eyes widen a bit at the thought that he might know something to do with his missing Butler’s whereabouts. He wouldn’t normally waste his time on such as this, but the thought of finding out even the slightest clue to where his Butler might be. He didn’t think he was dead. His fingers reached up to touch the eye patch covering his right eye lightly. ‘I wouldn’t have this if you were dead, right?’ He thought as he stared down at the letter blankly. He brought himself back to his senses and reach out to grab his letter opener. He didn’t waste his time opening the letter and reading through it thoroughly. What lay inside the letter held no re-assurance to his unanswered question? Alois Trancy’s butler Claude Faustus had gone missing around the same time as Sebastian had. He was pleading for the help of Ciel. The letter slipped from his fingers as he stared off into space. ‘What is going on?’ Ciel fumbled to gather his attention back to what needed to be done. He didn’t waste his time writing a letter in response to Alois’s. Something needed to be done in order to solve this. Even if that meant that he needed to cooperate with someone he was un-fond of. He ordered one of his servants to take the letter promptly to the Trancy manor.
The sound of children laughing assaulted the Blonde’s ears as he dazed off carelessly. Was that even a sound that should, could exist? It was such a…Happy sound something that didn’t seem entirely right to him. His fingers slid over the glass separating him from the outside world as he peered out into the city streets. He was so close to their joy, their happiness, but he was forever bond from it. The warm sun’s rays could be felt through the glass as if it was coaxing him out into the light to be bathed, but he was out of reach of it. It was so close, yet he would never reach it. The children he saw running carefree through the throngs of people were of a different existence than him. He did not belong among them; he never had. His existence meant so little in his eyes, but he wanted there to be more. So, much more that he was willing to sacrifice so much. He had sacrificed so much to be given a chance to do such. His eyes glanced across the cab of the carriage as it rocked softly, “Clau- …” his voice trailed off engulfed by the laughter of the children outside. It was empty like he knew it would be. It had been empty since he entered the carriage. Had he grown so accustom to the presence of his Butler. ‘His’ what a silly word for him to even utter. He owned nothing. ‘Alois Trancy’ owned things, but not him, not Jim Macken. “Even you have abandoned me…” His pale blue eyes stared into the seat as if the Butler would suddenly appear simply because he willed it. “In the end I was not even worth your time.” He sighed lightly as he peeled his eyes from the seat to look back out the window.
“Claude?” The tiny boy asked as he pushed his chamber door open slowly. His delicate fingers began to peek around the edges of the door, “Claude?” His voice trembled softly as his eyes peered into the empty hall of the manor. He had not been awoken at the usual time and there was no singing of the birds outside his window. It was utter and complete silence engulfing him. He took a step out of the room looking franticly around him for a sign. Anything to tell him he was not alone in this vile place. There wasn’t even the sound of the beautiful birds that he had come accustom to. Nothing… He tip toed down the hall as he clung to the wall tightly. His finger lightly traced the rough walls. “Claude, are you there? Claude?” His own voice answered him in an echo throughout the manor. It was mocking him with his own pitiful weakness. So fragile and disgusting how could Claude ever want something of such low quality? His pale blue eyes began to give forth tears of the purest blue as his fingers grasped at the wall ever so lightly. “Claude…Don’t you want me? …” His voice trembled as his knees buckled and he fell into the wall his cheek pressed tightly against it. “Wh- Why?” He choked out before a sob racked his throat. His hands reached up the walls grasping for the tiniest thing to help him up. There was nothing for him to clutch at in his despair, but empty air.
The sight of the city had long since passed his sight and had morphed into country side. The sight of trees flashed before his eyes as he came back to his senses. It wouldn’t be long before he arrived. He turned to get a better view out of the window to see what should have been approaching in the distance. The Phantomhive Manor, it was just a speck in his field of vision at the moment, but it would soon begin to take its rightful shape. He seated himself back in his rightful position awaiting his stop. He closed his eyes letting a sigh escape his lips. “I do not like this, Claude…Why have you abounded your Master?”
The carriage came to sudden halt that threw the blonde from his peaceful trance. He looked out the window at the steps leading to the Manor before him. In no way was he prepared for this, but he had no choice. The door opened and light flooded in at an alarming pace to engulf him in its warm embrace. His hand flew up to cover his eyes in an attempt to shield him from the light. He didn’t want to be a part of its warm embrace. He didn’t belong in the light and he never had. His filth would corrupt it and he would be rejected from its throng. He lowered his hand letting his eyes peak over them like the frighten child he knew he was. His eyes locked with the driver of the carriage. His face lost all feeling in it as the feeling of rage began to bubble in his stomach slowly. ‘I cannot be seen like this. I mustn’t’ He reached out for the hand of the driver to assist him out, a light smile playing upon his lips. “If you wouldn’t mind?” He said as he grasped the other hand tightening his grip on it as his nails dug into the soft flesh beneath him. He pulled the other in towards him looking down at him with a look of disgust plain on his face. “You will forget what you have just seen.” He hissed softly into the other face as he studied it intently with his piercing gaze. The blonde released his grip allow the other to fall to the ground, groveling up at him. He stepped out of the carriage on to the driver’s leg giggling softly. “Have a wonderful day.” He said smiling down at the driver as he twisted his foot crushing the leg beneath it more. A soft scream escaped the lips of the driver before he could muffle it with his hands. “Good boy.” Alois muttered beneath his breath as he glared down at the other. He looked up at the Manor again taking a deep breath before leaping off the leg he was standing on. He skipped up to the steps stopping at the first to stare up at the large building standing before him. “So, this is the Phantomhive Manor?” He said as he tilted his ever so slightly. “Eh…Are you here to see the Young Lord?” A high pitched voice drifted in from the hedges. Alois spun on his heels looking about him to find the source of the voice, but finding nothing. “Who is there?” He commanded as he took a step back. He toppled back into the steps as he looked off into the hedge for the person behind the voice. “Oh! Are you alright?” A boy stepped out from the hedge with golden hair in dirty old clothing. Alois’s eyes widen in horror as he stared upon the boy. He managed to hold up his finger to point at the large tree being held above the others head. “Y-You…How?” He managed to squeeze out in horror. “I did it again!” The golden blonde said in frustration as he looked for a place to set the tree. “Again…?” Alois said in a daze as his field of vision began to blur before him. “Hey, hey! Watch out!” Alois felt the ground tremble beneath him, but everything was black now. His face felt the coldness of cement pressed against his cheek.
// DivineSin: It's alright I understand. It should work its self out and be a little smoother as we go and get into the plot. I know how it is to start something like this. I'm not upset -3- Psh, calm down.
The light of the mid-morning sun was casting its rays into the room as the boy stared absent mindedly. His sapphire eyes were clouded as he dazed into the light. The beams of light danced along the floor as the limbs of trees disrupted their path as they blew in the wind. It was like a dance between the shadows and beams of light. The chirping of birds outside his window was distant to him as he dazed off into his own consciousness. Nothing at all could penetrate his train of thought. ‘Our contract has yet to be fulfilled, but you have run off, without a word to your master. ’ Many things seemed aloof with this mere disappearance. One being that Claude Faustus, Alois Trancy’s butler, was missing as well. Then to hear no word of it from Sebastian that he was leaving. It was very unlike him to leave his Master unattended. He had always been informed or had some knowledge of his antics, but this…It was utterly baffling. His schedule had been array since the disappearance with only his incompetent servants making matters worse for him. Not a single thing had been successfully achieved in the past few weeks. ‘They think to make a fool of me…’ A soft sigh escaped his lips as he sat up in his chair placing his hands firmly on his desk. ‘I shall not be made a fool. I am the head of the Phantomhive household.’ He reassured himself as he looked down at the papers scattered out before him in an unorganized manner. None of them held anything of importance to him, but he began to make his way through them because it was his duty. He needed something anything to keep him busy. His mind had been subject to wandering recently, which was very unlike him. The letter of utter distress from the Trancy Estate only made matters worse. The paper had been spotted with that could only be tears and the writing was poorly executed and thought out. It was clear that the boy was in utter chaos without his butler there to support him. It was a disgrace to someone of his standing in the social ladder. Ciel refused to become something like that. He had too much pride to ever lower himself to that pathetic state. ‘I will have my revenge, with or without Sebastian to help me.’ His sapphire eyes narrowed as he peered down at the papers with no interest.
Papers were stacked in neat, organized piles as the sun began to shift in the sky. The light bathing the room was now soft, not nearly as harsh as it had been. The sound of hooves clattering could be heard through the glass of the window as the blue-grey haired boy sat at his desk. He arched an eyebrow lightly as he listened to the hooves come to a halt. ‘It’s time…’ A sigh escaped his lips as he pushed himself out of his chair turning to glance out that window before exiting his studies. The sight he saw was a carriage sitting out in the land in front of his Estate and a head of Blonde hair gleaming in the light. Alois Trancy, head of the Trancy Estate, was a rather questionable character. He was hard to read, but once he broke through the thin shield he erected for himself it was like an open book.
The soft clicking of the boys wooden heels reverberated through the empty halls. It assaulted his ears, but he would not admit to the new feeling of loneliness he felt. It wasn’t in his nature to give in to this. While his butler’s constant nagging was annoying it was something he had grown to accept, now that it was gone…He didn’t know what to fill his time with. The silence was suffocating to say the least. The main hall came into view as he turned a corner and he caught sight of his maid stumbling about. “May-Rin, prepare some tea and sweets for our guest.” He ordered as he slowly ascended down the first flight of stairs. His hand lightly held the railing as he looked down at the main door preparing him for this skeptical, because that was what it would be. The blonde would be sure to make it nothing less than that. When his heels finally touched the marble floor of his main hall the clicking was more like a cracking of glass. He faltered in his step ever so slightly as he heard it, but held his head high as he continued.
“Hey, Hey! Watch out!” Finnian’s high pitch voice drifted in through the hard wood of the main doors. The boy’s eye twitched in annoyance as he thought of what might be happening out in his front yard. It was sure to be something unimportant and blown completely out of proportion. He placed his hand firmly on the hard wood and with a sigh he pushed it open allowing the light to flood in around him. “Finny! What are you doing that has caused such a noise?” The annoyance he felt was laced into his words thickly as his eyes adjusted to the new light. He gazed down the steps at the blonde sprawled out with his eyes closed. ‘What is the meaning of this?’ He thought sharply before letting his gaze drifting to Finnian, who was standing beside the hedges…With a up rooted tree beside him. The boy’s hand was instantly raised to allow his fingers to be pressed to his forehead. ‘This is absurd.’ He thought as he closed his eyes. “Finnian, move Earl Trancy to the room we have prepared for him and clean up your mess.” He said as he began to turn his eyes catching the small movement coming from the blonde sprawled out below him. He ignored it swiftly turning on his heels to return to his study. “Y-Yes, master!” He heard as he allowed to doors to slam shut behind him.
// Thank goodness, I still feel like it wasn't too great though -3- I'll get better though! Promise~~~!! :glomp:
‘Light…I can feel it…Trying to coax me into its arms…I-I’m scared…’ He thought as he cringed away from the light that was piecing his closed eyes. It was warm, so very warm and inviting. He lifts his hands placing them over his eyes to shield him from the rays that wanted so desperately to reach him. The sound of voice was like a distant dream in the Blonde’s ears as he slowly came to. They were fuzzy and very much unclear as he frowned straining to hear the words. “I-I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to scare ‘em!” He knew that voice…It was the boy with golden blonde hair… “I know, Finnian…” Ciel’s voice sighed in what he could only think was annoyance. “We will let him rest for now…” He could feel his cold stare through his closed eyelids. He knew those beautiful sapphire eyes were staring down at him at this moment. Those pure colored eyes that had no reason to be glancing upon something such as him, Sebastian had been right when he had said ‘Your touch would only defile, my Master.’ He didn’t deserve to be near Ciel, but he couldn’t help it. He clenched the sheets with his finger tightly as he buried his face deeper into the pillow. “C-Claude…” He whispered painfully into the linens. “I will be in my study when you are…presentable, Alois.” He heard Ciel say before he walked out of the room he heard the soft clicking of his shoes as he walked down the hall. ‘Presentable?’ When had he been anything close to presentable? He’d always been this mess of a person waiting for someone to pick up his pieces. ‘I’m scared, Claude.’ His trembling limbs curled in on themselves as he suppressed his urge to cry.
The trembling slowly stopped as the boy calmed himself into a trance like state of utter emptiness. It was cold and devoid of any hindering emotion that might try to carry him back to his previous state. This was his safe haven something he knew he could hide away in away from the cruel world of men lurking behind it. The men that wanted desperately to cage him like a butterfly and clip his wings. ‘What wings?’ A voice questioned softly, mockingly. There hadn’t been a time where he was free of capture. ‘You are a wingless piece of filth. They keep you to mock you.’ It chimed delicately as if this was happy statement to utter. ‘You know this to be true.’ A display to mock a helpless insect that has nothing more to offer the world, yet a spider had come along to ensnare it. Its threads tightly squeezing the life from its prey’s body, yet the insect fought of its life. A life it had no right to. “I will not give in.” His steady voice spoke as he threw the covers from his body. “I wanted this.” His eyes glowed with his new found determination in himself. ‘For how much longer will you want it…’ The voiced trailed off with a soft giggle.
The light bathed the room splashing different hues onto the walls. They danced about as the curtains swayed lightly. The sun was fading, but its presence was still strong within the room. It was threatening to the blonde as he swung his feet over the edge of the bed. He stared down at the floor and the light dancing about on it. It was taunting him, daring him to take a step into its rays. His ice blues looked down at it with malice as he pushed himself ever so slightly to the edge. ‘I will not cower for it.’ He thought as he let his toes touch the wood floor. The warmth radiated up his leg in a tingling sensation and it took all his might not to remove his toes from their place. ‘When I have become such a coward.’ , he thought trying to tempt himself further from his position. This was very unlike him; he had never been this afraid of such trivial things. Had Claude’s disappearance shaken him that badly? His foot finally came to rest on the floor completely and he forced his other to follow suit. “That wasn’t so bad, was it?” He asked himself with a nervous smile. His fingers clutched at the bedding as he shifted more of his weight onto his feet and with a light push he found himself standing in the light of the sun coming through the window. His pale blue eyes stared into the light letting it blind him temporarily.
The blonde hesitantly crept out of the room as he looked about the hall. There wasn’t another person in sight as he made his way slowly down the hall. The walls were decorated in paintings of people he knew nothing of and of sceneries he would never see. It reminded him of his own Estate in a way. Things he knew nothing of, but kept anyway because he had to. The hall came to an end and nothing seemed to give clues to where he was heading. It wasn’t wise of him to wander in the first place, but calling for help hadn’t seemed like an option to him. He scanned the area for a clue as to where he might be in the manor, but alas nothing helped him. A soft sigh escaped his lips as he hung his head allowing his blonde hair to cover his eyes. “This is helpless…” He muttered under his breathe.
// Bah :sweat: I'm sorry I keep taking control of Ciel. I'll stop once we get more into it and you can feel free to add more to the time that Alois is out of it. It's really just what he thinks he hears anyway.
:feesh: Stop that <___< It was fine -3- Geesh.
