I managed to do that... at least five times in the past eight days.

Then again, that was first throat infection+flu, then recovering from throat infection while cold and flu remained. XD

...Despite it being caused by a sickness, I still envy you for being able to sleep that long. >_< I usually get around five to six hours of sleep a night because of work.

For me, it's either "huge amount" or "far and far too little" (such as tonight. 7:30am here, but I have yet to actually sleep. :P)

What the...

I try to keep my sleeping schedule steady, but it's hard because I'm a natural night owl but I have a day job. If left to my own devices, I'd go to sleep at four in the morning every day, and get up at three in the afternoon. But as it is, I have to go to bed at midnight (which I'd often push until it was one or two anyway), and get up at seven in the morning.

I. Hate. Mornings.

Sounds fairly similar to me (though gladly, as things are right now, I don't have to get up -that- early anymore, and the only situations in which I ever lie in bed before 1.30-2am are illness and being awake for 38+ hours, sleeping before 3-5am is equally rare) and my problems and such.

Wonder how much else we have in common. :P

(When, like now, I am over here at my boyfriend, chances of me sleeping are very low anyway. If internet doesn't keep me up, then Skyrim will. My pc at home can't run it without crashing within minutes)

Omg...Skyrim. It's one of the reasons why I'm up until one or two these days. I've been in a Skyrim craze lately ever since I went and got Dawnguard. At first with just vanilla I stopped after two months of playing because I hated the main quest and the war questline, but then after Dawnguard...how could I resist not playing as one of those awesome vampires? I just love the new vampire eyes so much. They look so nice on my character.

And then I downloaded several mods, one of which is called Live Another Life, which gives you multiple ways to start the game without having to sit through the same long cutscene every time and doesn't make you want to murder both the Imperials and the Stormcloaks so much...and lets you start out as a vampire living in a vampire den. Scoooore! So I'm back and sunk deep in the game once again.

I'm currently trying to roleplay the game more instead of just get-quest-finish-quest-look-for-more-quests-to-do-oh-no-I'm-out-of-quests-to-do-now-what-do-I-do-in-the-game, so I'm playing it in a more 'relaxed' way now instead of just going through questlines and questlines. Reading the blog entries for Nordric the NPC really helped me stop being so OCD about the game.

I have a bunch of different characters. One's basically for when I am in the mood "everything I do must be for the sake of quests!", most others are played in the more relaxed way - amongst others, there's this level 30-something character who has yet to absorb a single dragon soul. xD

That mod sounds interesting, should see about getting it.

These days, when I start a new character, I just put the thing on, let it go through the cutscene on its own while I do some other things, like pay a visit to the toilet, then come back by the time I can actually start creating my character.

One plus of the wandering style of playing is that the landscape is a LOT more interesting than Morrowind's. XD

Do you have specific races you usually pick for your characters?

lol, I think I found two word walls so far, but since I haven't even started Dragon Rising yet, there are no dragons in the game for me to kill. XDDD *level 20 at the moment*

The mod's only current downside at the moment is that it isn't voiced yet (it has a series of mini quests for the character to 'discover' the rumors about Helgen and the dragon attack, etc), so you'll have to read the subtitles. Though it doesn't really matter that much. Worth it just to not start out with the vanilla opening.

lmao, I do that too. XD It was still annoying though. And once I was not happy with my character and restarted three times in a row (though with Autosave I could just start from the character creation scene, so at least I didn't have to watch the opening three times in a row), and on the third time, while I was standing at the chopping block and watching the Stormcloak guy get beheaded, I suddenly noticed...the wooden crate to catch the head had mysteriously disappeared! o __o And when the headsman chopped off his head, thanks to the physics of the game, the head just rolled all over the place. XDDDD That was probably the most fun opening I had before getting the Live Another Life mod. x'D

Oh hell yeah. There are a lot of people out there who kept saying that Morrowind was the best TES game, but I really don't see why. Aside from the quests being perhaps a little more interesting than Oblivion's and Skyrim's, I HATED the scenery. It was all just flying ash EVERYWHERE. And gray. Or gray-with-reddish-hue. It was annoying. Not to mention the goddamn Cliff Racers. (I hadn't known mods existed back then, since it was my first TES game ever and my brother had basically only handed me the game and never mentioned that you could actually download mods to make the game more interesting...godsdammit >.>)
Skyrim's scenery was much more diverse. And a lot more detailed too, even if the snowing and raining kills my FPS. XDD

Well...in Morrowind I usually prefer the beast races like the Khajiit and Argonian (though not being able to put on shoes was a bit annoying), while in Oblivion I would prefer Khajiit, Argonian, Dunmer, and/or Breton. In Skyrim I'm usually Nord or Altmer, Altmer being because I like the mentality of pissing off the Aldmeri Dominion. XDDD (joining the Stormcloaks as an Altmer, basically spitting in their face and supporting Talos, etc) Nord because I like the voice of their shouts the best. Altmer's 'FUS RO DAH' sounded all weird...
Tried playing as a Khajiit, but the males' beard-like fur on their face looked ugly so I stopped, and Argonian for some reason didn't interest me as much as before. So mostly Nord. :P In Skyrim the Imperials, Bretons, and Nords all look so similar to one another I could never tell them apart. -_-

What about you? Any particular race you prefer? o wo

I tend to mostly go with Bosmer or Khajiit myself, although I have from time to time played Nord or Altmer as well. In Morrowind, I sometimes played Argonian as well, but like you, I lost my interest for it.

I think, when it comes to quests and storylines, I do prefer Morrowind, but indeed, that dreaded scenery... I love the way you can enchant and smith and such in Skyrim and prefer Skyrim's lockpicking over Oblivion's. Part of me does want the old Alchemy back, but that's probably just because in Morrowind, I had a few characters who really, really were into that - including one where I was trying to see how long it would take me to level all the way up in alchemy while increasing as little other skills as possible -without- using mods and such to get my ingredients.

Don't ask me why, the answer is, after having played the complete game several times with several different characters, I was bored out of my mind and figured toying around with things like that was as good a way as any to drive away the boredness. XD

Yeah, the smithing and enchanting system in Skyrim is awesome. <3 The lockpicking is also a lot less frustrating than the previous systems. The alchemy got more annoying though, I agree. I prefer Oblivion's system where despite having to lug around all the apparatuses, at least you could make potions wherever you are instead of having to find one of those alchemy tables to do it. But then again it's a lot easier because it lists out all the effects and you can simply choose the one you want instead of having to memorize or look though all the ingredients to find the right combination. (one of the reasons why in Oblivion Alchemy is the skill I immediately max up to 100 second only to Mercantile...being able to create potions with just one ingredient saves a lot of time of scrolling through everything looking for two of the same effect)

Haha, I totally get that. XD I got bored with simply going through all the quests all the time as well, hence why reading the Nordric blogs was so inspiring and why I've finally managed to start relaxing a bit more with my quests. Though I'm still OCD about those training lessons. XD I refuse to level up until I've gotten all five lessons done. :P

One of the mods I got last night was called Infinite Mining (or something along those lines...), since it's weird how in Skyrim the mines simply run out after nine hits and never replenishes again. I run out of ore and ingots pretty quickly and I hate having to buy them from merchants all the time since they only sell a little of them. And yet I don't want some of those mods that gives you 10x ore pieces per mine either, so with the mod, I could mine until forever and it'd never run out, while still only giving you one ore piece per harvest. XD Though it's still rather cheating, so I try not to let my character mine for too long...but I went to brush my teeth last night and left my character mining and accidentally got 79 Ebony ore pieces. Oops. -_-;

What kinds of mods do you get, if you get any? o wo

Currently, I don't have any mods, as the pc I'm playing on is my boyfriend's (pc at home's too old and too slow to be able to run it, unfortunately) and while he's fine with it, I am not going to randomly download all kind of things to his pc, though I will certainly be looking into that specific mod you mentioned.
Problem with mods for games like this is that there's always this risk of accidentally grabbing a nice little virus with it - I am fine with that risk if the pc I am risking is my own, but not if it's someone else's . XD

Hope you don't mind, though, but I am going to log off. See if I can get some sleep, despite it being almost 9 in the morning. If not, I'll be back pretty soon. XD

Oh, I didn't know you could get viruses from them. o_o;; I mean, I know that there's always the chance that some asshole would include a virus into their files that they uploaded, but as I usually get them from the Steam Workshop or Skyrim Nexus they seem more reliable...and the ones I download are usually the more popular ones, so if there's something wrong with them I think people would've noticed and called it out before I got them. :o (I check the comments to see what others think about the mod before getting it myself)

lol No problem, go get some sleep! XDD
I'll talk to you later. ^__^

Skyrim is awesome.

The mods are sometimes even more awesome. Like the meme replacement moon. XD

^ That's just one of them. There's also another one where there's the fap face, trollface, and others. XD

There's also another one where all the mudcrabs are now wearing top hats and monocles, and one where all the giants and bears sing the trolololol song. XDDDD
