Cas's eyes darkened. "I will not," he said quietly, his voice even deeper and more impending doom-ish than usual. "I will find a way to fix this."
His eyes almost seeming to glow blue in the light of the panic room, Castiel moved forward slowly, like a predator stalking his prey. He wasn't entirely sure he could make this work, and if he could it was going to take a lot of energy. Crowley would not be pleased; he'd probably have to go wrangle up a few more souls after this.
But he owed it to Dean. He would do whatever he could to help Dean, even if it meant depleting his own power source in the middle of the war. He had to. Because if he didn't, no one else would. And the Righteous Man did not deserve this.
Even more, Dean, Castiel's friend, did not deserve this.
-------
It took Sam a while to get to Bobby's house, and then he stopped outside for a few moments, closing his eyes briefly. He was starting to feel even weaker now; his legs were trembling just a little, and his stomach was roiling.
But he wasn't going to let that effect him. Steeling himself, Sam pushed open the door to Bobby's house, moving into the living room and then leaning back against a wall.
"So. It's true." He looked at Gabriel evenly. "You did manage to make it back somehow. Now what are you doing here?"

Dean snarled pushing Cas back and stalking around the room. He flipped the bed, turned over the table and slammed his fists into the metal walls. "DAMMIT!"
He turned back to the angel grabbing Cas' lapels and slamming him to the wall. Growling he exposed his elongated teeth. Stopping suddenly he let the angel go and moved back. He hit the opposite wall, sliding down slowly. He sat his knees hitting his chest. "I need you to listen to me Cas. There is no way to fix this...You need to help me end this. I can't be allowed to hurt anyone."
"Please." Dean felt the despair overwhelm him. "I almost hurt Lisa and Ben tonight. I don't know how long I can control it Cas. How long before I hurt you, or Bobby or...S-sammy."
-----------------
Gabriel glared at the younger Winchester. The just inane wrongness of Sam's presence, made the angel's skin crawl. "I was brought back."
He stood slowly, the damaged wing painful, but manageable. "I needed a place to crash. Bobby was the closest." He smirked at the man. "What are you doing here? And where's Deano?"

Cas shook his head and moved over to Dean, kneeling in front of him. "Hold still, if you are able," was all he said. He was not going to do as Dean asked. Certainly not until he'd explored every other possible way.
Placing one hand on the hunter's forehead, his other fitting over his mark easily, Cas closed his eyes, concentrating. Through the haze of red surrounding his soul, he could see the humanity, the Dean Winchester he knew.
Though Castiel had already reformed his body once, it was easier the last time, in some ways. This time he had an already-living body in front of him, and he couldn't afford to make any mistakes. Going inhumanly still, he started to work, going through the hunter's body cell by cell and destroying the vampiric taint he found there.
-----
Sam's eyes hardened at the mention of Dean. "He was bitten by a vamp," he said, his voice emotionless. "The vamp turned him. He was supposed to infiltrate the nest and get his maker's blood for a cure." Sam paused for a moment. "He went rogue."
"What?!" Bobby looked over at Sam, his eyes wide. "And you're not looking for him?"
"He'll come back eventually, or he'll kill someone and we'll track him down." Sam remained implacable, his gaze flitting to Bobby before returning to Gabriel.

Bobby looked at Sam his mouth hanging open. "WHAT IN THE HELL ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT SON!? We are not about to leave your brother out there." He shook his head reaching for his coat. Dean was right something was very wrong with Sam. Those boys loved each other like no other, Sam would never have left Dean out there, alone...facing something like this.
Gabriel looked a the two men. Bobby had the right idea, but he didn't want to leave him alone with Sam. Not in that soulless state. He stopped Bobby with a hand to his shoulder. "Hold up there Grandpa, you two have no idea where he is. By the time you find him he'll either be dead or half way there. I can check for him, just give me a second."
The angel stood still for a moment, he inched his slightly damaged grace out looking for anything resembling the older Winchester he popped his eyes open a second later. "Your not gonna believe this, but both our brothers are all cozy downstairs."
He gave the other men a wide smile. "So who wants to check on them first?"

Sam frowned, just a little. Dean and Castiel? Even to him that didn't sound quite right. Dean had a complex about being the ladies man. So there was no way that was true.
Bobby frowned. "What the hell do you mean, idjit?" He glanced at Gabriel, though he was still wary of Sam. Especially when Sam didn't immediately volunteer to go check on them, or demand to know where Dean was. That was just so wrong it made the hair on the back of his neck stand up.
"The panic room." Sam had figured that part out quickly. He was still having some trouble getting over the whole "Dean and Cas getting cozy" part.
Bobby gave Sam a few more seconds to volunteer to go check on them before he sighed. "Fine. I'll be back in a few." He made his way down the stairs, his boots thumping on the steps, and he pulled open the hatch to look in on the two.
Cas was still kneeling in front of Dean, trying to be quick but thorough in his work. He knew this was not comfortable for Dean, so he tried to hurry. As much as something like this could be hurried.

Gabriel followed the older hunter downstairs and looked over his shoulder at the pair. Bobby turned to the angel, "What the hell his he doing?"
Gabriel looked closer at the pair on the on the floor. Cas was trying to....heal Dean. From what he could see it was working, but the little angel was loosing power fast. Gabriel moved around a surprised Bobby and popped into the room. The teleportation was a rough one hi wing still damaged, the archangel landing on his ass with curse.
He got up slowly and placed a gentle hand on Cas' shoulder. "Bro your not going to have enough juice to finish. Let me help." He opened his grace letting the power flow out ad down into Castiel. The glowing the room intensified, Gabriel reached forward making sure Dean had his eyes closed. Gabriel felt the power rapidly drain from the both of them, he pulled back keeping enough to wrap around Sam's broken soul. He started to sink to the floor, seeing Bobby and Sam at he door before he passed out
--------
The pain was nearly unbearable. Dean could feel every molecule in his body slowly being torn apart then rebuilt. Cas was fixing him, was the only though that kept him going. He could feel the power inside him start to taper off and looked up into Cas' face. He looked tired, the strain almost too much.
Then Gabriel showed up and the process intensified again. The pain became to much for Dean and he passed out.

Cas managed to finish healing Dean before he staggered back, blood dripping from his nose. At least he'd done it. He couldn't help but feel rather accomplished.
"What the hell?" Bobby opened the panic room door and walked over to them, going over to Dean to check him over. His pulse was strong, and when Bobby checked, he didn't have the second set of teeth. His eyes wide, he turned to look at Castiel.
"He is fine now." Cas sat down heavily. "Although I believe I require some rest now."
"Sure thing." Bobby hesitated for a few moments before he managed to haul Dean sort of upright, depositing him on the bed in the panic room. Just in case he had any lingering urges or anything when he woke up. "Just... yell if you need anything, I guess..." He was still sort of mind-boggled about what had just happened. The implications were incredible, although if it took that much energy it clearly wasn't a feasible cure.
Sam looked at Gabriel for a few moments, his head tilted to the side. The archangel had helped Cas to heal Dean. Why? He had nothing to gain from this; there was no trickery involved, no gain, no reward, nothing. Sam just couldn't figure out why anyone would do something so selfless when it obviously was almost too much, even for the archangel.
When Bobby motioned for him, he helped move the small form up to the living room couch, leaving Cas and Dean alone in the panic room. Still confused, Sam retreated to the kitchen, so he could have some time to think.

The first thing that Dean registered when he woke up was that he couldn't hear any other heart beat but his own. He immediately reached up and ran his fingers over his gums looking for his second set of teeth....they were gone. "FUCK YEA!" The hunter could have jumped for joy then he noticed Cas. He was laying dead to the world on a cot, the rest of the room was trashed.
The poor angel must have had to use tons of energy to heal him. Slowly walking over Dean looked over the angel. There was a stream of blood coming from Cas' nose. Wetting a cloth he slowly wiped Cas' nose. "Stupid angel why do you keep saving me?"
Don't you know I'm not worth it?
Dean shook his head and moved away, no chick flick moments. He took off his jacket and draped it over Cas' still form, making sure to grab his phone out of his pocket. He flipped it open...Sam hadn't even tried to call him. He nearly threw the phone stopping before the object left his hand. Sitting down his back against this wall he watch Cas silently waiting for the others to come and check on them.
It was then that he notice a stiffness in his shoulder. Dean pulled up the sleeve over his shoulder, the mark, Cas' Mark as he had come to call it was glowing. "Son of a BITCH!"
--------------------
Gabriel was not so much asleep as recharging. His grace and wings were tightly wrapped around him as his vessel's breathing slowed and he floated peacefully in his mind. A long white beach stretched out under a cerulean sky and looked out over the green blue water.
He sipped a bright red sugary concoction laying nude on said beach. Gabriel had just started to relax when he heard a soft whimpering. Flipping up his sunglasses, the angle looked down the beach and suddenly there was a heavy metal door standing there. He rose clothing himself and teleported to the door.
Moving through the door, this was his mind after all. In the cement room beyond the door Gabriel gasped at what he found. "Oh Sam." He walked forward slowly, the soul in front of him was blackened and skinned, unable to even stand anymore. Sam weeped, but no tears came out he was so burnt.
Gabriel sat on the floor a few feet away, trying not to scare Sam. "Hey, do you remember me?"

Castiel shifted a little in his not-quite sleep, knowing that Dean was near and whole and safe. That alone was enough to make him relax... and then the hunter draped his jacket over Cas. Though the angel didn't need it, the smell that had permeated the jacket over the years reached him, and he relaxed further.
Had Castiel been awake to notice, he would have been rather surprised to see the mark so bright. But it made sense, in a way; after all, he'd yet again rebuilt his hunter's body.
Though it would take him a while to "recharge" and get back to his normal strength, he would only require a few more hours' rest to be well enough to be conscious and moving around again.
------
It took Sam long moments to realize someone was talking to him, and a few moments longer still to realize the person didn't sound threatening. Was this another game of Lucifer's? If it was, he just wanted it to end. He didn't know if there was a way for a soul to commit suicide, but briefly he wished there was. Everything hurt, and had hurt for so long he'd almost forgotten what normal felt like.
Turning his blackened face very slowly to Gabriel, Sam blinked, just once. His eyes were one of the only things left of him untouched. He wasn't sure why; maybe Michael and Lucifer liked it better that way. But neither of them had even taken Gabriel's form.
"Gab--" Sam coughed, his throat dry and scratchy from not speaking for so long. The only sounds he'd made for a long time were sounds of pain. He stopped, trying to control his breathing, before he tried again.
"Gabriel."

Gabriel smiled, under the blackened skin Sam's bright hazel eyes were still clear and focused. That was a old move in the toruture game, give the victim sight so they can see the joy in your face. Lucifer had loved that. Watching their eyes morph in pain and sadness, they could always express more than words.
The angel pushed the memory away knowing very well it could manifest if he wasn't careful. "Hey Sammy. It's really me." He sat on the ground and kept his distance not wanting to scare Sam's tortured soul. "Do you remember Cas getting your body?"
"He obviously forgot your soul. Don't be mad at him. The kid's still young, and Lucifer's an ass. Strong ass but still an ass. I got you out a few hours ago. Your soul is wrapped in my grace, safest place you can be until I get you healed." Gabriel looked over the blackened form. The kid looked scared, but Gabriel expected that. "If you'll let me I'll heal the outer wounds so you can lay down and get some rest."
-------------
Dean watched Castiel silently. He was a damn good friend. Dean laid back on the bed thinking and trying to remember everything that had happened. He remembered most of what had happened at the vampires' nest, Cas saving him...Gabriel...Holy Hell...Gabriel was back.
He went to the door and shouted out. "Bobby!"

Sam frowned, barely even noticing when his skin cracked and split, letting him bleed a little from the motion. He... sort of remembered that? He looked at Gabriel again, still confused. Cas had gotten his body out? He shied away from that thought; he wasn't ready to think about that yet.
Then Gabriel mentioned that Sam was wrapped in his grace. Was that why things had felt different? Looking back, he noticed that it was lighter here, not so cold. It was hard for him to tell, with his burnt and frazzled nerves sending random messages to his whole body, but he thought this place felt better. Cleaner. Maybe he'd appreciate the difference more when he could feel properly.
Sam blinked and looked at Gabriel again when the archangel said he could heal the outer wounds. "You can?" he asked quietly, trying to keep from straining his throat. Then he grimaced and almost berated himself; of course he could. He was an Archangel of the freaking Lord. He could do almost anything he wanted.
------
It took Bobby only a few moments to thump down the stairs, almost tripping once before he stopped at the bottom of the stairs, clearly looking for something to be wrong. He didn't see anything immediately, so he focused on Dean again.
"What is it? How're you feeling, boy?" He moved over slowly to check Dean over once visually. Dean looked okay; he looked normal, and he wasn't bleeding or shaking or anything, so Bobby took that as a Good Sign.

Dean batted Bobby's hands away. "I'm fine Bobby. Why the hell is Gabriel here? He is here isn't he?" The hunter fixed his clothing and looked at the older man.
"He showed up about an hour ago passed out on my couch. Then your dumb ass brother showed up saying he had left you turned as a vampire. Boy what the hell have you idjits gotten yourselves into?" Bobby pulled a chair up quietly noting that Castiel was still asleep.
Dean quickly explained what had happened over the last day or so. Bobby shook his head a few times then hit Dean on the back of the head in a loving gesture when he brought up Lisa and Ben. Dean's face fell...Lisa would never want anything to do with him again. Then the image that had been haunting him since this had started came to his mind. He turned to the older hunter. "Bobby I think...I think Sam let me get turned."
-------------------
"You betcha Sammy-boy. You just hold still, I'll get you fixed up." Gabriel inched forward still afraid of startling Sam. He laid a gentle hand in the middle of Sam's chest and poured power into the frail soul. Skin slowly started to rebuild over the burnt skin. The crusting black flesh returning to it's natural color.
Gabriel could feel pieces of his grace begin to merge with the soul of the younger Winchester. The process was draining far more than when he had helped heal Dean. After he was nearly completely drained, Sam's soul was looking much better at least on the outside. The chestnut locks were back in place, and the skin all pink and new. Gabriel smiled a final time before falling forward completely drained.

Bobby frowned. "That don't make sense, boy," he said, although he still felt uneasy. Sam was definitely not acting like Sam, and that was... worrisome. He could tell something was wrong here.
He just didn't want to believe that Sam had let Dean be turned. A few weeks ago he would have protested violently, denied it with his last breath. But now... now he wasn't quite so sure.
And that, more than anything, scared him.
------
Sam kept his eyes closed as he started to feel better. It didn't hurt so much now, and when he opened his eyes again he felt a little more normal. Not back to normal, but a little bit. Baby steps were good, he figured. Especially since his nerves were no longer constantly on fire.
Then Gabriel collapsed, and Sam's eyes widened. What did he do now? And why had Gabriel collapsed? Moving closer to the Archangel carefully, Sam shook him a little. "Gabriel?"
When that got no response, he pulled Gabriel closer to him, just sitting there and resting. He figured Gabriel couldn't be that bad if he'd healed Sam. He couldn't be. Because Sam just couldn't deal with it if Gabriel turned out to be another of Lucifer's mind tricks.

"I know Bobby. Sam would never let that happen. But that isn't Sam." Dean hated to think the worst of his brother, but it wasn't too hard after recent events. "He stood at the end of that ally and watched that vamp turn me. He fucking smiled Bobby!"
Dean left the bed and started pacing. "He doesn't come to you or me when he gets back, he goes off and hunts with the CAMBELLS! People we don't even know Bobby! He didn't even come to his own brother."
"That's because he wanted you to have a life! To get out of this, to find happiness. None of us have ever gotten a second chance like that! And you pissed it away!" Bobby stood as well his voice rising in anger.
"I DIDN'T WANT IT! I wanted my brother! I wanted MY family!" Dean yelled, his fist hitting the wall. He stopped sitting back down. "Lisa and Ben are great, but what we do Bobby, what I did it doesn't go away. DAMMIT!"
-----------------
When Gabriel woke again he was laying on Bobby's couch. He at up clutching his throbbing head. The angel realized then that there was no way he was going to be able to heal Sam's soul fulling on his own power. He needed access to some of the holy weapons. Getting back into heaven in this state though, was going to be next to impossible.
He snapped his fingers trying to summon a glass of water, he turned the table into a peacock instead. "Oh that's not good."

Bobby sighed. Dean was right, in part at least. What the did didn't go away. Sure, Sam had been acting strange, but he couldn't believe that something was really that wrong with Sam.
"Alright," he said quietly, not wanting to piss off Dean any further. Not at the moment, anyway. "Let's just sit down and think about this. Okay?" He looked at Dean, almost expecting him to refuse. They still had things that needed to be worked out, and soon.
----
Sam looked over when he heard the peacock moving around and he snorted. "Having problems getting it up, Sparky?" he said, looking at Gabriel. There was no amusement in his eyes, though. Just cold calculation and observation. So Gabriel did have limits to his power. That was always a good thing to know. Just in case.

Dean slid into the seat by Bobby. "I could have ripped their throats out Bobby. I wanted too..." He looked down at his hands. Dean could still feel the teeth and evil running through his veins. He had been so viscous...but he was human again. Thanks to Cas.
He looked over at the still sleeping angel. It was so weird to see Cas so still. Not once had he ever seen Cas so stress free and easy. Dean found himself itching to rub his hands over Cas unruly dark hair, like he did when Sam was little. Dammit I am not a chick!
Pushing the thoughts aside Dean came back to Bobby. "SO have we figured out why Mr. High and Mighty Trickster is helping us out all of a sudden?"
-------------------
Gabriel glared at the soulless version of Sam standing in the doorway. "No. Just wanted some water. I'll get it the old fashion way." He blinked the peacock back into a table and stood slowly.
His vessel's legs were a little shaky, but he made it to the kitchen with out falling. The water helped releave the cotton mouth and Gabriel turned back to Sam, "So how are our brother's doing?"

Bobby shook his head slowly. "Nope. I don't know, boy." He was quiet for a few moments. Maybe the trickster was just getting tired of his tricks? He was an Archangel, after all, so maybe he was just going back to doing his job?
That didn't explain why he'd been brought back, though. Shrugging helplessly, Bobby gave up. If there was one policy he had, it was to not try to understand the minds of higher powers.
-----
Sam watched Gabriel, his eyes narrowed just a little. Gabriel was weaker than he was letting on. He was having problems controlling his powers, and that could be advantageous. It could also be a total disaster.
He shrugged at Gabriel's question. "Fine. Last I heard Castiel was out cold and Dean was having some kidn of moral crisis or something." He shrugged again. It really didn't matter to him. Not at the moment. For all he cared his brother could be having a full-on mental breakdown, and he wouldn't even bat an eyelash.

Dean had given up trying to figure out what was going on. He needed to ask the archangel, be straight forward. "Well. let's ask him." He moved off the bed giving Castiel's still form one finally look over. Adjusting his leather jacket tighter around the angel he headed upstairs. He wanted to confront his brother/not-brother too, but he didn't know if he was ready for that just yet.
He rounded the corner to find Gabriel and Sam talking. The shorter angel was glaring at his brother, a glass of water in one hand. Gabriel looked like he was hardly able to stand up. He turned and looked at Dean as he came up from the basement. "Hey Deano. You look like shit."
"I wouldn't be talking angel. Have you even looked in a mirror." Dean walked past to the sink grabbing his own glass of water. Gabriel ignored the other man to turn back to Sam. Dean noted that the angel was looking at the taller Winchester like a hunter would a monster. Did the angel sense the same thing he did? That Sammy wasn't Sam.
"Gabriel why are you here?" Dean sipped his glass then reached into the fridge for a beer.
The angel turned his own water into a large fruity cocktail with and umbrella. "I crashed on Bobby's couch. You can Cas were a bonus. Glad I could help though, I can't let you have my brother fry himself to save your ass again."

Sam snorted at Gabriel's creative (and sort of truthful) non-answer. He was about to let it slide but decided against that.
"That doesn't explain why you needed to crash here," he pointed out. "Nor why you're back from the dead, or why you're here and not off somewhere tricking some idiot."
Bobby had to admit, Sam had a point. Even if he was less than tactful about it. He was rather curious about the archangel's reasons, too. But since Sam had already asked, he wasn't about to ask again. Instead, he went over to the fridge and pulled out a beer for himself. Hey, if anyone else wanted one they could damn well serve themselves.

Gabriel sent another seething glare to Sam. It wasn't the kid's fault that he was soulless, but Sam was a dick with out a soul. Sam was missing the finesse and tact that his soul obviously provided him with. Gabriel thought over the questions. He really didn't want to give anything away, especially with Sam.
"I was attacked and my wing damaged. I didn't have enough energy to get somewhere safe so I decided to head to Bobby's." Gabriel took long sips of his colorful drink smiling around the straw. "I figured that I'd be safest here anyways. Although."
The angel turned to Bobby. "Your protection hoodoo around the edge of your property is weak. I'd paint one of these in lamb's blood and paint on each of the corners of your property." Gabriel took a piece of paper and a marker drawing the most powerful protection sigil he knew. He handed it to Bobby.
Dean raised an eyebrow at the action. "Why are you helping us? Lucifer's locked up, Sam's back...you don't have to be here."
Gabriel sighed. "The father brought me back to help. I don't want to be a monster anymore."

Ah. That explained a lot. Gabriel had a conscious now. Sam almost sneered. A conscious. Really, who needed one? They got in the way and made everything so much more difficult. You had to do this, you couldn't do this, you couldn't hurt that person to get the information you needed... Really, such a pain.
He still had the feeling that Gabriel wasn't telling the whole truth, but he decided not to push his luck at the moment. After all, Gabriel was still an archangel, and could still make Sam regret asking questions.
Bobby took the design and looked it over quickly. It looked legitimate, and it resembled some of the other designs he'd seen. "Thanks," he said quietly, putting the piece of paper off to the side. He'd go get lamb's blood later, once he was sure everything was okay and he wasn't going to come back to a house that had been leveled by an angry archangel. Or two idjit hunters.
"Well," he said after a few moments of silence. "Sam, why don't you go check on Cas?" That way Sam would be downstairs, however briefly, and he and Dean could corner Gabriel and ask--or demand--he take a look at Sam to see if something was wrong.
Sam's eyebrows shot up at the request but he shrugged. "Sure. Whatever." He made his way downstairs to go check on Dean's angel. Really, there was nothing to check on, but he didn't see the harm in it. Plus that way he could have quiet for a few moments to think.
Turning his attention to Gabriel again, Bobby moved closer. "We need to talk."

Dean watched his brother and Gabriel silently, tipping back and swallowing down more of his beer. He liquid was no were near giving him a buzz. He leaned back against the counter and watched Sam stalk out of the kitchen. The hunter knew exactly what Bobby was doing, and he was going to grill the archangel until he got some clear answers.
Gabriel looked up a the red haired hunter with a grin, "'bout what mountain man? Cause if it's your fashion sense, there is no help for that." He sipped his fruity drink and waggling his eye brows. Dean moved forward growling lightly.
"Cut the bullshit Gabe. I will deep fry your ass in holy oil...." Gabriel snapped his fingers and Dean's lips sealed together making him lunge at the angel. Gabe snapped his fingers again making the man sit on the floor. Bobby stood on the side looking at the two men.
"Dean ya idjit! Knock it off!" He moved forward towards Gabe. "Unseal him would you? I know he's being an ass, but he's worried about Sam we all are."
Gabriel snapped his fingers again and Dean could talk again. "YOU!" The hunter tried to leave the floor unsuccessfully.
"Sam's gonna be okay." Bobby and Dean both looked up at him in shock.
Dean growled, "YEA right! He let me get turned into a fucking vampire! He nearly killed me. I-I mean he used a baby as bait!" Dean bowed his head and slammed a fist into the floor. "He's not SAM!"
"Yea he is...or at least part of him is. He's just Sam missing a few things." Gabriel looked at Bobby and Dean. "Seriously?! You haven't guessed it at all?" He threw his hands up. "HIS SOUL! He's missing his soul."

Okay, yeah, forgive him if he didn't instantly believe the archangel. He knew better than that, and he wanted to be sure. Because he'd never heard of someone walking around without a soul.
The older hunter managed to sit down as the implications of that caught up with him. He wasn't an idiot, he knew what not having a soul would mean. It would mean that Sam was only like a shadow of Sam; an amoral, douchebag shadow of Sam. And they needed to get his soul back in him. Pronto.
"How do we get his soul back?" He looked at Gabriel again, his eyes narrowed. Because if Cas had pulled Sam, this bit of Sam, out of the cage, he figured the rest was still down there somewhere. And that was... worrisome.
((Cute avi by the way. ^^))

Gabriel cocked his head before twirling his free hand and pointing at himself. "Hello! Archangel!? Oh course I'm sure!" He walked out of the kitchen to the living room helping Bobby to sit down as the full weight of the implications hit him. Snapping his fingers he finally let Dean up.
He hunter moved quickly into the other room his face an emotionless mask, only betrayed by the fact he was reaching for a bottle of Bobby's rot gut and two large glasses. He pour a large amount in each and handed one two Bobby. Dean has the whole glass downed with a grimace, before pouring another then looking at Gabriel. "No soul? So...it's still it hell...in the cage with Michael and Lucifer? We got to get him back."
In Dean's mind there was no how or impossible, it was only the sure fact that they would get Sammy's soul back. Gabriel smiled to himself, it was good to see how much the man cared for his brother. Heaven could really learn a lesson from the Winchesters.
"I took care of it." Gabriel stirred the last of his drink looking bored.
"What? Whad' you mean, 'took care of it'?" Dean grabbed the front of Gabriel's shirt fearing the worst. The archangel glared up at he other man, pushing the hands off him.
"I got his soul already. It's safe. How do you think I got injured? Damn Hellhound nicked me." He rubbed the wing subconously.
"Good, then what are we waiting for! Put Sam's soul back in him. " Dean growled looking at the angel like he was an idiot for not doing it already. Gabriel's smile fell into a soft frown.
"Dean it's not that simple...Sam's soul spent a year in the pit...alone with Micheal and Lucifer." Gabriel paused letting Dean absorb that information for a moment. "He was there only plaything. I can't just put the soul back." Dean sank into a chair the hand running though his hair shaking lightly. Gabriel would have bet his left wings that the man was reliving his own time in the pit.

Bobby took the glass and drank half of it before going to refill their glasses. Today was just going to be one of those days, huh? He closed his eyes briefly before looking at Gabriel again.
"Is there anything we can do?" He didn't have the least idea how to even start repairing a soul. He didn't even know if it was possible. And if Sam's soul was in as bad condition as he thought... "Is it even possible that we'll be able to put his soul back in 'im?"
Because he'd rather have this soulless Sam than no Sam at all, or a vegetable Sam.
Sam, meanwhile, was listening to their entire conversation. So he had no soul, huh? Pity. He seemed to work better without one anyway. So maybe it would be best if he just didn't get the thing put back in him. Although he had to find out first if they could, and would, do that to him. He kind of hoped not.
