Gabriel leaned back against the wall waving away his empty drink with a thought. He looked seriously at Bobby and Dean. "I've healed Sam as best I can with my grace." The angel stopped for a minute not sure that he should tell the two hunters more. Sam's soul had been brutally damaged, almost irreparable damage. He had no idea how they would react...that and he was sure soulless Sam was listening in.
"What?" Dean was looking up at him, his eyes tired and hurt. He knew the kind of damage a soul could go through in hell, what even a simple demon could do. It had been far worse with Sam. His brother had been with Lucifer and Michael, two of the most powerful and disturbing beings he could ever think of.
Gabriel raised a finger to shush him. He turned to the stairway to the basement. "Sam!? Why don't you join us?"

Sam moved over to them after a few moments, raising an eyebrow. "What?" For a moment he debated between pretending he hadn't heard anything and just not caring. He settled on pretending not to have heard. For the moment. If Gabriel called him out on it, oh well. So what? So he was listening. They were talking about him; he had a right to know what they thought. Especially now.
Bobby looked at Sam for a few moments before he swore quietly and looked away. Sam still looked like Sam, dammit, and while he was fairly certain the archangel wouldn't lie to them, he didn't want to believe it. Unfortunately, Sam's weird behavior lately led him to believe that Gabriel was right. Sam had no soul.
But he didn't speak for now, just looking between the archangel and the other two hunters in his house.

Dean looked up as his brother entered the room. Gabriel had to be right there was no other explanation, and even if there was, he'd rather Sam be soulless than a monster. He shuddered as he recalled Adam and the ghouls. The hunter drained his glass and reached for another. Dean wasn't dealing with this well. "What do you mean what Sam? You heard the man....angel, whatever your missing your soul! Or so Gabriel says."
Gabriel glared at the older hunter. "Seriously?! Fine," He turned up to look up at Sam. "Alright big guy, tell me how are you feeling? And I mean emotions; sad, scared, curious, even happy?" Gabriel paused for a moment letting Sam think it over. He popped a snickers into exsistance and ripped it open. "Your not feeling anything are you?"
Dean looked at his brother, "Answer him Sam." His voice came out in a low growl.

Sam looked at them for a moment before he shrugged. Nope, there would be no salvaging this act. He'd just have to find another way. So he dropped the surprised bit and shrugged again.
"Yeah, no. I'm not feeling anything, not really. I haven't felt anything since I got back. But you know what? For the first time I feel like I can really think clearly, see clearly." He paused for a moment to let that sink in. "I'm better this way."
Bobby nearly leapt to his feet again at that. "No you aren't, Sam! There's a reason humans have souls; it makes us who we are! You can't just go walking around without a soul, boy!"
"Why not? I have been for a year." Sam shrugged carelessly.

Dean shot up behind Bobby, "Yea, and you've nearly gotten me killed! And who knows what else with our back from the dead grandfather. You..." You didn't even come find me....youDean couldn't even finish the thought. He grabbed Bobby's bottle of whiskey and dashed it against the wall. Then he punched Sam across the face flooring the larger man, before leaving the room and heading outside. "Son of a BITCH!"
Gabriel followed Dean's movement's shaking his head lightly. "Um...I think it's time I wake up my brother." He turned helping Sam up. "And you Sasquatch...you don't get any funny ideas. Your brother can only take so much." He gave Bobby a look that said, watch your back.
He walked downstairs instead of popping there, wanting to conserve his energy. Gabriel was worried...soulless Sam was strong, mentally and physically. And that kind of strength combined with his irrational idea that he was better without a soul, made for a dangerous creature.
Entering Bobby's panic room he knelt by Cas' side. "Hey lover boy wake up. Your charge needs some words of wisdom and we need to talk."

Bobby watched as Sam got to his feet again, shaking off the punch easily. Yeah, he was worried. Soulless Sam he couldn't predict; he didn't know Sam this way. He didn't really know what Sam was going to do.
Instead of trying to talk, though, he sat down and kept an eye on Sam to make sure he didn't try to go anywhere. And if he kept a revolver in his pocket, well, at least he could aim well enough to keep Sam from leaving.
Sam sneered when he heard Dean outside. Shaking himself, he glanced around. He knew Bobby's house very well, and he knew where all his books were. But he didn't think Bobby's books would help to keep him soul-free. No, he needed information from another source. But he wasn't willing to talk to Crowley, since he still didn't like the demon even without a soul, and he wasn't sure who else he could call. Of course he knew there were other angels, but he was pretty sure most of them would as soon smite him as talk to him. Which was slightly problematic.
Cas's eyes opened the instant Gabriel started talking, and he sat up slowly. He felt better now, but he could tell that Gabriel was still drained. He frowned; Gabriel had had more energy than that when Cas had gone to sleep. What had happened since then?
"Gabriel." For a few moments he just looked at the Archangel. "What has happened?" Because he knew something had to have happened. Energy didn't just up and run away like that.

"Well Bro. Things have gotten a little messed up. Did you realize that you brought Sam back without his soul? He neared got Dean and some baby killed. He's almost evil Cas. I was able to save his soul, but it's had a year with Michael and Lucifer in the cage. I have him here safe, but it will take time for me to heal him." Gabe sighed at his information vomit as he unloaded everything on his brother. Cas looked a little frightened and overwhelmed at moment . The older angel rubbed his arm. "It's going to be OK, but Dean just decked his brother and is now outside probably destroying a few cars. I need you to go talk to him. He needs somebody in his corner to center him."
-----
Outside Dean put a crowbar through another car window then down on the hood of another junker. He screamed and chucked the crowbar across the yard before falling back into the side of a car and sliding down to the ground. He was overwhelmed with emotion. Something he really didn't deal with well.

Castiel swallowed. He'd brought Sam back without a soul? It took him several moments to move past that fact. He could deal with it later, he figured. After he'd helped Dean, because Dean was more important. Always.
"Will you be alright?" he asked Gabriel quietly. Because he cared about his brother, no matter what anyone else thought. He wanted to make sure Gabriel would be okay. The archangel was still rather drained, although not quite as low as he had been. Not enough to really be worrisome anymore. Which was only a little reassuring to Cas.
Then he heard the smash of the car window and he frowned. Yes, his hunter needed him. But his brother needed him too, leaving him torn.

Gabriel was touched by his brother's words. At least some of his family still cared. "I'm fine little Bro, nothing a few days on a sunny beach with a foofoo drink can't fix." He patted the side of Castiel's face then got back on his feet. He was so going to pass out for the next month after this.
He grabbed Cas' shoulder turning the younger angel to look at him. "Seriously Cas I'm fine just go take care of your hunter, before he hurts himself."
Making sure Cas had left to look after Dean Gabe popped back upstairs landing on his butt. He cursed before picking himself up off the floor.

Cas nodded, reassured, and popped himself out into the yard. He remembered that Dean had issues with personal space, so he gave the hunter several feet of room, starting to approach him on foot slowly, trying to give him some warning. Dean startled easily when Cas snuck up on him, and in the type of mood Dean was in, Cas didn't want to do that right now.
"Dean?" He kept his voice quiet, just looking at the hunter for a few moments. Clearly something was wrong, something more than what Castiel could figure out. Something was on the hunter's mind, and Castiel wanted to know. He wanted to see if he could help.
Sam looked over at Gabriel when he landed on his rear and stifled a snicker. Oh yeah, the high and mighty archangel Gabriel unable to even land on his feet. This was priceless.
