Alex thought about that for a few minutes. What would her father think of her current situation? "I think it would depend really." She said as she continued to think about it. "At first though he'd be completely against it and wonder if I'd been cursed or something to allow it." She grinned at Agni "But then when he actually met you I'm pretty sure he'd change his mind, he's surprisingly open minded for a knight. I guess that's where I got it."

::And what would he think of me falling for you.:: He thinks to himself. "He sounds like a great man." He says with a smile. "You are truly lucky." He walks in silence all of a sudden he stops and smells the air. "This isn't good." He mumbles. "I can't be right in this." He says his eyes scan the sky ahead of them.

Alex pulled her horse to a halt quickly when Agni stopped. She glanced at him wondering what was wrong then seeing him looking at the sky began to scan it herself "What's wrong?" She asked her voice tense "Do you see something?"

"Not see, sense. I sense my brother near. But it can't be. We are several days journey from his territory." He sniffs the air again. "But now it's gone. Perhaps I was only imaging things." He falls into a worried silence.

Alex looked around uneasily "Do you know of any reason he might have to leave his own territory?" She asked wishing she had the ability to sense things like that herself. "And would it be very unusual if he has left it?"

"none, unless he's expanded it." He says as they continue on. He keeps his senses ultra alert. It wouldn't do to have his brother sneak up on them.

Alex looked around still on edge now. "Expanding his territory doesn't sound much better then if he left it for some reason." She said keeping her voice down so as not to attract anything to them.

"I got bored with where I was." A man, about six feet tall in a nice suit steps out from behind a tree. His skin is the same tint as Agni's. "I can't say I'm surprised to find you in human form with a human." He says. He eyes Alex. "Though I am surprised they sent a woman.

"Brother." Agni says his voice emotionless. He gets between him and Alex. "I must say I'm surprised to find you in human form."

Alex jumped at the sound of Agni's brother's voice and tried to turn to get a look at him but her heavy armour made it hard to see.
She slid down off her horse and moved to stand next to Agni, hand on the hilt of her sword.
"My gender has nothing to do with my battle skills." Alex held her head high, ignoring the rush of fear she'd felt that was the same as when she'd entered Agni's cave the day before. "At least I'm not doing this alone this time." she though as she glanced momentarily towards Agni then back to his brother.

(i was going to respond but just brain farted so I'm going to come back and post here when my head isn't so fuzzy)

"I find it easier to travel this way." Agni's brother says with a smirk, totally ignoring Alex. He knows he's stronger then his brother, this has always been the case. "So why are you out this far?

"We've come to make you pay for your crimes." Agni says.

His brother throws his head back and laughs. "You and the girl, defeat me?!" He laughs harder.

Alex drew her sword and held it in front of her. "Yes, We will defeat you." She said glaring at the other dragon, angred by his laughter. "You've done evil things to many people and I'm here to make sure you pay for them."

"But you forget, I am dragon. We are, by our very natures, evil." He snarls. "Though my brother has seem to have forgotten that." He takes a deep breath.

"Alex, get down!" Agni yells. This spooks her horse who takes off running. He pushes her down just before the flame would have hit her. He jumps up and tackles his brother.

Alex landed hard on her stomach with a grunt, eyes going wide as she felt the heat of the flame. She felt Agni weight leave her and she looked up just in time to see him tackle the other dragon. She scrambled after her fallen sword and got to her feet as quickly as her armour would allow, hoping Agni was strong enough to take on his brother, and afraid he wasn't.

Agni and his brother battle. His brother has a slight upper hand, even in his human form. He slashes at Agni, who just barely manages to invade it. Agni shows his claws going for his brother's neck. His brother hisses as Agni's claws nick him. He gets in a slash to Agni's gut and blood pours. But Agni won't give up. Agni gets a slash to his brothers arm cutting the muscles and nerves. His brother laughs. "Good job brother, good job." He says.

Alex hesitated watching the two dragons fight.She was afraid of accidentally hitting Agni in the confusion of the battle, but when she saw his brother draw blood she charged in. She tried to get around behind him and take a swing at his back while he was distracted speaking to Agni.

Agni's brother senses Alex, a moment to late and barely manages to avoid her blade. "Oh you clever girl." He says. He hates to admit but this girl was more clever then most he has met, then destroyed. Agni goes for his neck getting a few deep scratches in. His brother jams his claws into Agni's gut. Agni falls. This can't be he thought. He tries to get up but his head swims. He won't be able to protect her. He won't be able to keep her safe.

Alex stood stunned for a second then shoved herself between the two dragons with an angry battle cry. "Get the hell away from him you monster." She shouted as she brandished her sword. "I won't let you kill him." With that she lunged at Agni's brother determined to kill him for what he had just done.

"oh you have feelings for my dear brother." He sneers. He ducks her blade and goes for her gut but because of her arm only manages to scratch that. He snarls.

Alex flinched at the feeling of his claws grazing her chest plate. Part of her mind wondered at his words, did she have feeling for Agni, something beyond just friendship? She pushed it to the back of her mind to ponder over later, now was not the time for such thoughts.
"So what if I do." She growled as she swing her sword low attempting to strike one of his legs. "I'm still going to kill you." Now that her battle lust was up Alex was determined to at least see blood on her opponent.

Agni's brother fights his best but soon realizes he his out classed. He has many scratches on him, some very deep. Changing into his dragon form he takes off and flies away, but not before saying, "another day little warrior."

Agni watches the fight wishing he could help, but is impressed by Alex's prowess. It seems his brother isn't the only one to have underestimated her. He watches his brother change and depart. During the battle he had been working on getting the wound healed, which he has managed, but he had still lost a lot of blood.

Alex took a few steps as if to follow Agni's brother then shook her head and turned and ran to Agni. "Are you alright?" She asked worriedly as she dropped to her knees beside him.

"Just suffering from a bit of blood loss." He says. "Are you alright, he didn't hurt you did he?" Concern fills his voice. He allows himself to reach out and stroke her cheek. He loved her, he couldn't lie to himself anymore.

Alex blushed slightly as he stroked her cheek. That kind of gentle affection was not something she was use to from a male of any species. "Um... I'm fine. I have a few scratches and a bruise or too but nothing serious." She said with a slight shake of her head.

"I am glad you are alright." He starts to stand but the world starts spinning. He falls to his knees with a groan. "I am sorry I lost your horse and supplies." He says his eyes squeezed shut. He opens his eyes happy to see the world had stopped spinning. "Do you think he'll come back?" He would feel bad if something happened to her horse.
