Oakley rounded the cobblestone walk towsrds her beloved shack. She sighed heavily as she pushed away the thin curtain. She never really had money, but instead of working, she was always practicing. She was trying to master the skill of Air bending. Not many had this gift. If they did, they were still trying to maintain it, like her. Feeling a bit warm, she pulled off her over coat and set it down on the small tree stump she called a table. She headed over to her torn cot and lay. Soon, she felt into a snooze.

After an hour of napping, Oakley decided she should try and scrummage up some type of food, that at least was semi edible. Walking through the thin curtain again, she headed towards main street. Where all the tourists and buisness people from other villages came. Some from the fire kingdom especially. Going to her usual spot, she stopped and began. "Local people, and tourists, behold! You are about to witness an amazing feat. Air from nowhere. Appear right before you! You to, can also be an air bender. For a small price of four gold, this gift could be yours too!" And there, Oakley stood and waited.

Nami stretched out her arms and yawned. She, her older brother Rin and her friend Haru have been roaming around the city for the past week with no money, food or a home. So all they could do is entertain people with their bending. Although there were plenty of tourists and benders roaming around the city that the trip didn't make enough money. Usually they would leave the city by then but there's been a robbery a few days ago that the government had to create a blockade on the entrance of the city to prevent anyone from leaving. Nami guessed that the robbery must be very big for the government to surround the city with guards. I wonder what they stole... Nami thought as she began to wrap her long, chestnut, locks around her fingers. Soon Nami heard her stomach growl and she patted her stomach in discomfort as her two companions laughed at her in amusement. She looked at them straight in the eye, "Oh shut up, it's your guys' fault for choosing a city like this to look for that stupid scroll for learning a new kind of whatever!"
Rin rolled his eyes and grinned softly, "We're doing this because we need it to heal her. You know that." then he ruffled her hair, "Plus it's not my fault. It's that stupid kid's fault for choosing this place, just to eat the world's best sea turtle soup." He wearily glanced over at Haru to see if he would react. Luckily Haru was too busy drooling over the smell of steaks that he started sniffing the air. Rin sighed in exhaustion. He never did liked the idea of bringing that stupid fire bender along for the journey, but Nami wouldnt change her mind. Maybe it's because she's an earth bender, since she's as stubborn as a rock. And also maybe it's because Rin's a water bender while Haru is a fire bender. The world may never know. Before Haru walked towards the direction of the food, Rin slapped the poor boy by bending water from a nearby fountain.
"Ow! That hurt!" Haru cried while holding his cheek in comfort. He glared at Rin who started whistling like he didn't do anything. He charged up to the man, getting ready to sock him until he noticed a performance from the side. It was a girl doing acrobatic moves and started bending air. Haru had never seen air bending up close and this girl is definitely talented for him to be entranced like that. And that never happens. But that also means that he does not like her, he's just awed by the moves the girl had projected. The dark, shaggy haired boy leaped into the crowds and once he had reached towards the girl he shouted, "How'd you do that?"

Oakley smirked at the boys amusement. "Simple. Practice, and coordination. For four gold, I can teach you some valuable things." She giggled softly at how proffessional she sounded. Tonjght she could go and try and find her.mother once more. Suddey a flashback hit her right in her face. She was six years old and her mother was tending to her scrapped knee. Then, two large men approached them and had forced her mother to go with them, leaving her child behind. The sad part was thst she never had a father. So, she was alone, starting her whole beggers life style.

Pulling out of her trance she began to do a simple trick with one hand. Feeling the air pulse around her always made her feel secure. She smiled at a couple of tourists walking by and did a slightly more complicated trick. She made a huge ball of air, threw it on the ground and sat on top of it. Barely catching her balance as she went. Finally someone thre two coins and she gratefully nodded. Bread for dinner tonight. That was better than last nights roasted rats. "Yuck......" Oakley mumbled a loud./COLOR]

Haru's face fell. He had to PAY? He didn't even have any money nor does his companions. Which was why the trio went around the city trying to entertain people so they could have something to eat. So far nobody had even bothered in giving them any money, or even food. But there was a little, nice, old lady who was blind had bothered giving them some money. Rin kindly didn't accept the money since he told the old woman that she was the one who needed it the most, much to Haru's distaste. As the old woman left, Haru went and whacked Rin on the head which also caused a fight.
The sixteen year old sighed and grabbed a green straw and started chewing on it then looked into the blonde girl's scarlet eyes as she sat on a ball made out of air. Trying not to look awed he crossed his arms, "I'd love to watch and all, but my friends and I are-"
All of the sudden Haru was sent flying to the air and the crowd that was surrounding the airbender clapped and threw out the money in the air. When Haru finally landed on the ground he looked up and saw Nami with her arms crossed and Rin laughing his head off like he didn't have a care in the world. Haru rubbed his head and muttered, "Was that you Nami? And if it was why'd you have to send me flying..?"
Nami frowned, feeling angry like never before. She had no clue why she was angry but she was. She walked up to Haru with an evil shine in her eyes and before she knew it she had punched him right into the face making the crowd get excited which caused them to throw even more money. She grabbed Haru's shirt and dragged him close to her face making their noses touch and said, "Why the hell did you run off for?!" Nami knew that right now, Haru is facing her wrath. Nami's wrath is the most scariest moment anyone would ever experience and should never experience. Luckily her brother and Haru had faced this wrath every once in a while, but they aren't normal. Normal people should NEVER experience her wrath.
Rin now recovering from his laughter and collected all the money that people had thrown. Then he turned to face the blonde girl and smiled his one-of-a-kind charismatic smile, "Sorry for stealing your crowd. If it's possible, would you like to come eat dinner with us tonight?"
The seventeen year old glanced to the side and chuckled a little at what Nami was doing to Haru. Even though he chuckled, he shivered just thinking about Nami expressing her wrath on him. Haru, you are such a stupid boy... thought Rin sighing in sympathy.

Oakley listened to the boy until suddenly he was flung onto the ground. Losing her crowd she decided to watch as well. Watching as the young girls wrath was being unraveled, she laughed softly. Nothing compared to a girls wrath, unless that girl could bend an element. He was in for it now. Feeling like her day was over, she grabbed her hemp satchel and slung it over her shoulder, just about to leave.

Suddenly, a boy came over and asked her a wounderous question. The sixteen year old thought over for a moment and then nodded. Not trusting his smile she talked, "I know a great place to get soup. It isnt to expensive either." Oakley said this dryly. After all, they didnt seem from around here, and they had blocked off the city because of a recent theft of a sacred scroll from the temple. "Its a custom here to introduce ourselves to new comers. Im Oakley. Bender of Air. And sadly I dont have much money, so there is nothing to steal." She said matter of factly. She really had nothing for them if they wanted to rob her.

Finally after a moment of silence she went over to the girl and the other boy and smiled at the girl. "Im sorry, he didnt run off really. I was simply asking him of the time." Feeling horrible for the boy, she tried her best to look innocent. He probably didnt want to have his whole body crushed. She then put a light hand on the girls shoulder and looked at her. "Do you know what time it might be?"

Rin watched the girl go towards where his companions are. He felt like he didn't seem very trusting to her. That's normal, he always acts like that so he wouldn't get too attached to strangers. As soon as the girl's hand touched his little sister's shoulders, he cringed waiting for the moment for Nami to focus her wrath on the girl. But nothing happened. To the water bender's surprise his sister's shoulders relaxed and the evil glare from her eyes vanished. Is this the power of an air bender or does this girl have an unusual calming effect? Rin wondered as he watched his sister smile at this girl named Oakley. Then Rin decided to bring this girl along for their journey, whether she liked it or not.
The boy ran up to Nami and kicked Haru in the back making him roll over. Nami chuckled a little making Rin feel accomplished in making his younger sister smile. He always cared and loved his little sister very much, so much that he will murder any boy that would make her cry and hate the boy who took or might take her away from him. And that's how his hatred with Haru began. But usually he's the type who goes with the flow and knows when to be serious. "Nami should beat up Haru more often, she earned us this amount of money today." he showed them the big bag full of gold making the two sixteen year olds' eyes go wide.
Haru quickly snatched the money from Rin and started waving around laughing gleefully. "Woohoo! FINALLY WE GET TO EAT SOME MEAT!" but then he soon went flying yet again as he felt the ground lifting him up. Normally the fire bender doesn't act the way he does, he's usually very fiery and loves to get into fights. Wait, that sounds exactly like him right now. Anyways when Haru looked up again he saw Nami glare at him, pinched his ears and told him to go apologize to the girl for stealing her crowd. The shaggy haired boy looked and apologized softly hoping that the girl could hear it and Nami would feel satisfied. Luckily the earth his friend felt satisfied and let Haru go. Then he walked towards Rin and decided that he should be the one to hold the money, knowing both he and Nami would go crazy on buying things for their bending.
She ran towards the girl and grabbed her hands saying, "We're very sorry for stealing your crowd, as you can see my friend Haru here likes getting into fights and doesn't have enough common sense to realize what he's doing is affecting us stupidly." then she heard Haru yell out something but she ignored it. "Anyways, to repay you back would you like to have dinner with us?" Nami's bright green eyes shined and she brought out her bottom lip as to try to convince the girl to come eat dinner with her companions. "Plus I've never had talked to a girl my own age before in a long while and it's already evening." then she quickly added, "My name is Nami, and the stupid boy is Haru and the other one is my brother Rin."

Oakley smiled towards the girl. "I would love too. Your friend doesnt seem like the kind settle things peacefully." Hearing the other two names she nodded towards Rin and Haru. "Is there anything you guys may have had an eye on for what you might want to eat? There's tons of places here." She shrugged slightly, not having been to to many of them, but instead had stood outside and begged for food. Oakley fished out her small bag of six coins.

Oakley began to map out places that would be ideal for what they might need. Especially since that Haru boy looked like he liked food. Lots of food. Yet he was so skinny. She smiled at herself for thinking of something so strange like that. But then the theft popped into her hea again. She didn't think such people like this would be responsible for such a large crime of great perportion. Shaking the feeling off, she began to calm down once more.

Nami beamed and went to hug the air bender. The earth bender is not girly nor is she a prissy little cat, she's actually a big tom boy who also likes getting into fights even though she has a small frame and looks like she won't hurt a fly. Plus she hates cats, just to let you know. When Nami hugged the poor girl to death she quickly realized that she didn't get the air bender's name, and what made matters worst was that she was being a little too over friendly that it seemed kind of awkward. Nami quickly jumped away and sort of hid behind her companions as she felt her face heat up in embarrassment. She heard Haru and Rin chuckling a little and made a mental note to herself to go "discipline" them later.
Rin left Nami and Haru behind and walked towards Oakley to see what she was doing. His face sort of fell and what he saw was the most detailed map he has ever seen in his entire life. It's like this girl has photographic memory but Rin wasn't sure so he just did what normal curious people did. He asked, "Do you have photographic memory or something?" but then he shook his head trying to change the subject since he knew his companions were hungry and so was he. Rin ran his hand through his chocolate, shaggy hair and said, "Ignore what I said. Well my companions and I are quite hungry so do you know any places that do barbecue?" he chuckled again knowing that both Nami and Haru are big meat eaters. It's a wonder how they maintained their fit bodies.
Haru rolled his eyes as Nami still kept on hiding behind his back. He knew Nami would never act like this, she would usually just go for it. Maybe it's because this is her first time talking to a girl her own age. But whatever, Haru didn't care. He'll deal with this later, after he gets his food and pick a fight with some of the benders in town which usually gets him in trouble with his friends. The fire bender put his hands in his pockets and kneeled down beside Nami then he whispered. "You should really go up to that girl and ask what her name is, plus you should go tell her what foods you like to eat or else we'll eat somewhere with veggies only."
He saw her flinch and laughed. Then all of the sudden Nami grabbed his hand and ran towards Rin and the other girl.
Nami spoke, "I didn't quite catch your name, what is it? And I really like to go to a restaurant that sells really good barbecue too!"

Oakley patted the young girl awkwardly on the back before she had let go. Feeling awkward she fixed her jacket slightly and continued until one of the two boys came up and asked her a question then dismissed it. "Yeah! And they have great veggies. Im a vegetarian, which I dont know if one of you are either, but just incase one of you are......" Oakley smiled lightly feeling her own rambling nonsense. When the girl came up, Oakley looked at her. "Oakley. And me and your friend were just talking about it. Its actually.right across from here" Oakley smiled, pointing.

Haru stuck his tongue out in disgust at the thought of vegetables. He and vegetables don't really go together. So when he heard that this Oakley girl is a vegetarian, he knew they weren't going to get along. The fire bender never did like hippies because they just confuse him all the time with their spiritual talks while smoking on a pipe. Plus veggies are just not his thing, he only eats vegetables for a day at least once a month so Nami and Rin won't have to bother him about his health and whatnot. He crossed his arms, "How can you live with eating vegetables all the time? No wonder you're so skinny."
Nami frowned. Everyday she had always wondered why Haru is such an idiot and why she even chose him as her best friend. Only the Gods know, she decided. Then she raised her foot and stomped the ground again. Instead of lifting the earth under the dumb fire bender, the earth behind him rose up and bonked Haru on the head. The boy turned around making Nami smirk, "That is no way to disrespect a lady."
As Rin listened to his companions bicker, he thought about their main mission. Their mission was to collect an ancient scroll that teaches anybody how to bend a forbidden material, but this bending is worth enough to save this girl's life. Before entering the city they had found out the supposed location of the scroll and it was located in the place they are currently residing at. But then the scroll got stolen and the government had created a blockade around the city to not let anything or anyone out. Which made him highly suspect that this is the scroll is the scroll that they were looking for, and since they barely know this town they might need Oakley's help.
Rin went to split his companions, "Ok guys, we all are very hungry so shut up and let's head to the resturaunt. Plus we have to discuss some things with Oakley here." he shared a knowing look with Nami and Haru who now know what they were going to do.
