"I think not," Ezio replied, catching her arm. He smirked just the slightest bit. "This is not meant to be a vacation, you know."

"Ezio. I'm going to tell you outright since clearly you haven't been living with a woman for far too long. I'm dealing with a very feminine issue right now, and I'm cramping like hell and sore from riding the past few days. I'm not used to riding horses. So if you try to make me do anything I won't stop at shoving you in a canal this time." She smiled sweetly at him.

Ezio considered that for a moment.

"You have until tomorrow, then," he said, letting her go again just a little too quickly. "But after that, consider it condition training. After all, nobody will care about such things on a real assignment." Of course, he really shouldn't have even been that lenient, but he was.

Anna nodded and headed upstairs again, shutting the door to her temporary room and getting comfortable again.

And then she spent a good while trying not to think how comfy his clothes were.

Turning, Ezio went in the other direction to see if his uncle was interested in a spar. And he tried really hard not think about how good Anna looked wearing his things.

The next morning Altair got up as early as he always did and snuck over to stand next to Iris's bed. He was curious to see if he could get a glimpse of that... tattoo, was it? That.

Iris woke as he got closer, although she didn't move yet. She could tell it was obscenely early, still, and she really didn't even want to be awake, but she'd been slowly getting into the habit of sleeping lightly while away from 'home.'

"Why are you just standing here?" she asked, opening one eye to look at him.

"Thinking," Altair replied quietly after a moment. He hadn't realized she was awake, which totally ruined his plans, but that was okay. He could still save face. "How sore are you this morning?"

"Less than yesterday, more than usual," Iris replied, sitting up and stretching a bit. She didn't wince, but she was definitely still a bit sore. And there was a different soreness she noticed that told her she really needed to get moontime supplies within the next few days. "Why?"

"We can continue training today. You need to practice your falls." Altair looked at her for a moment, catching an all-too-brief glimpse of her tattoo, before he moved away again.

"Falls?" Iris repeated in what was absolutely not a squeak. That didn't sound good, no matter what he had planned.

"Yes. Falls. Now that you're awake, you may as well get up so we can begin." Altair smirked faintly and sat on his bed to get his boots and all his weapons back on him. Because there was just no way he was leaving those at an inn.

"You're cruel," Iris accused without any real feeling behind it. Regardless, she got up and started to get dressed. She would bathe later, after the day's torture was over.

Altair watched her dress when she wasn't looking before he got up and cracked his back a few times. It had been a while since he'd taught anyone else how to fall properly. He'd actually have to think about it; the motions were just habit for him by now. And he'd definitely have to find a suitable haystack.

Once Iris had dressed and found a bit of string to tie her hair back with, she was ready to go. She wasn't at all sure about this falling thing, but it didn't seem she had any choice in the matter.

Altair led her outside and found a good place at the outskirts of town, where not many people passed.

"For now, we'll practice on the ground. Off buildings will be this afternoon."

"Uh huh," Iris replied, a little doubtfully. Climbing was one thing. Intentionally falling was another.

"Here." Altair fell back easily into a large pile of hay. "See? It is simple." He got up again, not even bothering to actually brush himself off, and motioned for her to try.

It looked simple. In fact, it looked too simple, which made Iris a little wary. Clearly Altair's training had made her a little paranoid, but she did as he said, well aware she would be finding hay in her hair for days.

Altair nodded. "Relax. It's a simple movement. Don't overthink it." But she had the basic idea, and she wasn't freaking out, much.

"It goes against every human instinct to let yourself fall," Iris retorted as she got up again and picked some hay out of her clothes. Good god, the stuff itched. "Every last one."

"Get used to it," Altair replied, a little ruthlessly. Idly he wondered about helping her pick the hay from her clothes, and then squished the thought. For now. "Your Leap of Faith when you graduate, if you will, will be from a much higher place than here."

Iris blinked. A Leap of Faith sounded a lot like jumping from the top of a tower and praying something would catch her. It wasn't all that appealing.

"And I have to do this?" she asked.

"Yes. It is traditional. Not to mention very useful." Because Altair couldn't count the number of times he'd leapt off things to escape guards or flee an area before people could become suspicious.

Iris hesitated for a moment longer. She still didn't like the idea of throwing herself off of anything taller than a chair.

"We'll see how this goes, then," she said reluctantly.
